Gu YuMian works as a zookeeper and lives a stable life. Until one day, when he transmigrates to the interstellar era which is different from what he imagined.

Hot microblog search: #Humans have been officially listed as an endangered species.#

The headline of the daily newspaper: [Annual salary is ten million, and there is no one to take it?! Mainecoon Cat Prime Minister said he offered high prices to recruit service workers for grooming, cat cooking, and manicure cutting, but no one has applied in fifty years.]

Gu YuMian: ….

Ten million a year? Coincidentally, he was a professional zookeeper.

Other anchors focus on things popular, fans and intrigue. Gu YuMian focuses on making cat meals, combing ErHa’s hair and little fox’s tail and feeding the panda cub. His live broadcast became more and more popular.

Later, Gu YuMian found out that the snow leopard he picked up was the Emperor of the Empire, the panda was a famous star, little fox was the chief of the biggest science institute and Erha was the hottest novelist in the whole world?!

This is a very cute story, is not complicated and I can't say it has a great 'plot'... is just a 'feel good' kind of novel and I have to admit that, even if at the beginning I was not not sure about it, I fell in love with it and is one of my favorites. It's cute and fluffy and the translation is neat and fluid.

Too precious. Will make you hungry and suddenly decide to buy the ingredients mentioned in the dishes made by MC. Pardon me, let me google how to prepare this chunk of bamboo shoot that ended up in my shopping cart.

The overbearing CEO-type ML is tempered by the fact that he's a cub hahahaha. The fluff is all warm and cute and will make you feel good and soothed. Go back and massage your pets, folks.

Waiting for the translation team to deal with the somewhat odd ending and extras. Kinda unclear... more>> what's going on there. <<less

It's a very fluffy and sweet novel but it has many flaws.

Reading this novel is more for peace and enjoyment rather than an in depth well developed plot. To put it simply, get comfy and enjoy.

Pacing is okay and the author touches base with large plot holes leaving only a few questions such as "Why do the animals copy humans when they hate humans so much?" There are more illogical aspects but the importance about them is quite small so I forgot about it.

However, this may not be the case... more>> for other readers so if you're bothered by the small inconsistencies don't read it. On the other hand, if you can ignore some of the illogical things, you'll be fine. The main focus isn't about those things anyway and is more on cooking and a heartwarming family.

Another thing to note is that the story can get repetitive; MC cooks, feeds cute fluffy balls, author inserts 3 live stream viewers praising MC, and everything ends in a calm and soothing manner. Plus, the author uses similar descriptions which emphasizes that repetitiveness. (It gets better later on but the format is the same)

However, it's a nice and simple read but definitely not jaw dropping (Even if my favorite animal, the panda, is featured in it).

If you're a foodie, an animal lover, and want to pass time you should read it. Not too much drama and you'll be envious of how sticky the animals are.

I think the thing I enjoyed most was the Utopia Amus**ent Park arc. Mainly because of the Mermaid and Dragon storyline.

3/5

Adieu and Enjoi!

P.s. I really struggled on my rating because I just adore pandas and the fluffyness really took my heart. But, I took more of a "developed story" approach to review. In terms of enjoyment, the story earns an A+ but in terms of story building and character development, it's a C. <<less

So, this is a transmigration to interstellar era story. Fluffy and light. At least from what I've seen until chapter 52.

I love the cubs, so cute and fluffy! MC also was good and kinda resemble a mother. The total of cubs under MC's wings, until chapter 50 was three.

Spoiler

ML (snow leopard), 24th Wok (kind of MC's descendant?), Artic Fox (Chief of Institute or something). So there's only the writer left, and seems like he's a wolf. A naughty wolf.

[collapse]

The pace was so-so. ML's human figure appearances were only a few times in the span of 50 chapters. And MC is kinda dense.

Though it looked like a cub raising novel, honestly, it's kinda like a mish-mash of raising cubs and live-streaming cook. Shrug.

MC was also kind of OP with his knowledge over raising animals, so, shrug. All animals love him, so he's kinda like a walking catnip. Something like that.

ML was a cub bully, which honestly made me speechless, I didn't know whether to laugh or face-palm. I pity those little cubs that were bullied by him. And he's the overbearing type, I think? Like to spoil the MC and so possessive of him? Ugh, maybe the typical ML? I don't really know how to describe him.

I haven't read past chapter 52, so this may change sometimes in the future. But overall, it's still a good read. Just, don't expect heavy plot or some action. I still haven't see anything even after reaching chapter 50, which is almost halfway of the novel. <<less

A very very very fluffy story haha. Loved Gu Yu Mian’s (MC) interactions with his “kids” and I liked how smart he was; to be able to piece things together quickly. Generally a very enjoyable read. Shuo Han (ML) is quite cute as well with his vinegar personality hahaha. Loved how he just pushes the other kids away when theyre together with MC

when MC watched the video 大锅,二锅,三锅 filmed for him when they were alive. It was so damn touching

[collapse]

But one thing that I didnt really like was how repetitive it got. Like “ the views were increasing, and would continue to increase later.” etc. While I understood why the author had to put it in, it still got quite boring. But tbh this is the only reason why its 4 stars

anyw, if ure up for a good fluffy and cute read, this is the book for u <<less

This story extremely similar to My Vegetative Partner Opened His Eyes in Anger After I Ran Away, but the focus is more on food vlogging and pampering his baby snow leopard ?, baby panda ?, baby fox ?, and baby husky ?. A lot of cooking stories focus on the deliciousness of the food, but this one totally adds a more atmospheric and relaxing mood, as another reviewer mentioned. The MC is focused on giving his viewers (and cubs) a complete experience of soothing comfort.

it's boring but not because of the genre, the writing is just meh. Yk those anime filler beach episodes? Yeah but instead of going to the beach they're just cooking. short review: too much food descriptions, too much emphasis on how popular he is that he keeps breaking record when he's just a rookie, too much people saying how nice it is to be near GYM even though he's a human. Limited vocabulary used.

not-so-long review: 5% plot, 95% fluff. Very light and casual read, pretty enjoyable but not engaging enough. Soooo repetitive I was tempted to drop this. Author kept recycling the same words to describe everything (GYM's cooking, the food's taste, the live viewers, GYM's vibes/aura, the cubs, basically everything) that every chapter felt like a template of GYM starts livestream > descriptions of how the number of viewers leaped like crazy > GYM starts cooking > the cubs tastes it > viewers went crazy and leaped again > the freaking long food descriptions > GYM's stream charting in today hot list whatever the name is, okay I'm kinda tired typing this. 103 chapter for main story seems a bit too much, couldve finished this with less than 80. To be very honest, when I reached the end I thought 'thank, god. Finally!!!'

the panda reunion scene was nice tho, I cried

Light, fluffy and simple interstellar slice-of-life danmei, with simple plot, characters and writing style, thus easy to read and follow despite some bad translation. Very similar to "The film emperor daily live cooking broadcast", which has same content and structure but has better writing style and better translation. Both are foodie novels and I enjoyed reading both for what they are meant to be: simple entertainment fiction catering to my interests, not some profound statement on life's values, zoology, science or society lmao... Some comments were so delusional and dumb...... more>> yes... eating an apple and expecting it to be an orange can only be called delusional...

This novel is the very definition of 'home-sweet-home'. MC brings homely comfort and refinement to the awakened beasts of this interstellar era, who only knows war, science and tech. It is a slice-of-life genre with heavy emphasis on cooking food and on the everyday little moments that make life so enjoyable: eating delicious food in the company of your loved ones, a lazy summertime picnic, enjoying a relaxing bath, celebrating birthdays and going to the amus**ent park with your kids etc... Plenty of fluff and food, recommended for anyone who loves this kind of languid and lazy lifestyle. <<less

This book is perfect for those who just want a casual read, not putting their brains and time to finish it.

But I think that's it. I feel like in the beginning, it was promising, though it fell off. Additionally, I think that the relationship between MC and ML could be better, but maybe it's just me.

Overall, I would put it 3.0 stars. <<less

Note to self: dropped because boring, cute to begin with, then just cooking. Cooking outdoors. Cooking indoors. Cooking on a roof. Etc etc. And the entire premise of the “zookeeper” disappeared pretty quickly. Just so boring, boring, boooooring. No plot. And I’m glad I didn’t get to the point where the misogyny was overt (as mentioned by other reviewers).

Nice translation so far, though.

Rather than a review, this is a note to myself: I've read this 3 times, the beautiful slow life atmosphere and comedic undertone always puts me in a good mood up until the same point in the plot, and the author's hidden prejudice against women grows more apparent with each rereading. 5 stars but note caveats.

So far it's very sweet story - full of sugar.

I am disappointed that the summary feels a bit misleading. The fact that MC was a zookeeper is almost irrelevant. This story's focus seems more of cooking in the interstellar over live-streaming. Which isn't bad since I do enjoy those stories too but a bit disappointing based on what I expected. Also, plot seems minimal. I expected something about the family drama behind MC but that hasn't happened... granted it seems it's only been a few days since MC has transmigrated... more>> at this point in the story. <<less

Another reviewer said the livestream is like lofi hip/hop and like yes, that is 1000% that vibe. It's like lofi girl is just drinking her tea and watching new year's fireworks and I'm just chilling watching this cartoon girl watch her fireworks and it's just yes.

That is the vibe of this MC

I really enjoy that and the food vlog style, I think the couple is cute, sweet, and lovely and all that. Pandas, fox, snow leopard, and pups + hair combing, general spoiling atmosphere... that's all my jam... more>> for sure.

But I still went 3 stars because like the rescuing lonely children and giving them family didn't do anything for me when it was as extensive a part of this novel as it was. I could have done with like about 60% strength that and more couple vibe. Or like develop the personalities of the children because

This novel have been on my list a long time but haven't read. And I saw other review that it's fluff and only fluff with not so many plot. So I tried to read and literally it's only fluff. The one thing I like is I can see many fluffy animal interaction. It's cute. But one thing I don't like is the author start writing MC as zookeeper but then... the direction veer and become only cook. I'm actually expecting how MC take care of fluff babies as zookeeper. It... more>> should be unique if author can write like it. But it turn out as others cooking novels. Actually I skip all cooking part. And I saw some say ML personality is a little off cuz of his vinegar jar type. But to me, it's still ok. He's not ab*sing the others cubs although they're not cubs. And I have read tons of interstellar cooking type novel and it becomes bored when I was expecting it to be more excited. All in all the translation is good and the novel itself is fluffy with no drama so if you like fuff and cubs then you should give it a try. <<less

Sincerely the novel is interesting but it got really annoying when the food description became too much. Thumbs up for the translation it was clear and interesting...

I had to skip some food explanation just to see the interaction between the ML&MC

All in all the novel is interesting

It is nice in the points where the plot progresses and I enjoy the fluff. But 50% of the novel is just redundant and stretched out descriptions of food and cooking processes which doesn't count as fluff for me and gets really tedious. There many chapters named after food dishes and in these chapters 80% of the content is about food.

5 stars for me because this is exactly what I am looking for a.k.a - a fluffy and healing story with cub raising, cooking and family time!

There are not much going on here but if you enjoy easy going and calm protag with cute cubs and good food you will like this. The pace can be to fast or to slow sometimes but overall it's a ralaxing and cute story. The touching moments are also surprisingly good I cried a couple of times. Spoiler

Him tossing the other cubs aside wasn't nice and I hope he wasn't very rough with them at least, even though the text says he tossed them away. But in ch 69, while they're in some amus**ent park, a small fairy is sent to them as a guide. The little husky takes the fairy in his mouth at first, scaring him until he faints. But Gu YuMian apologizes for it. Only, the ML then controls the husky to do it again and the poor fairy faints again, also kinda left mentally scarred from it.

That was not okay.

[collapse]

Other than that there's so much repetition (especially words like tender, fragrant/fragrance. Since he cooks in just about every chapter until around 80s when some semblance of plot picks up, these words or some variation appear several times in every chapter.)

At some point I just started skimming all the cooking stuff, descriptions of food, descriptions of reaction to the food, etc.

Ch 80 and I'm just waiting for this to be over. It's so slow even with skipping I've been distracted by other stuff and keep watching/reading something else.

Ch 81: FINALLY!!!!!

Spoiler

The MC knows the snow leopard and the guy chasing him is the same person.

I know he also has his mind wiped from other reviews, but let's see. (This never happened? I think? Why did I read this in a review?)

[collapse]

Ch 90: okay, I totally bawled this chapter.
Spoiler

Finally the teased meeting with the panda family happened. The reunion was so tragic, because he can find out about the original pandas and meet their offspring, but the three pandas he knew in his first life were still gone.

[collapse]

Final thoughts. MC is a Mary Sue, and the story is mostly fluff. I bounced between the ratings (consider that I skipped a lot of the cooking parts) and I'll go with 3 stars, though more like 2.5 rounded up. The reason, is because I've read stories that were more fluff than story before, but they were still more fun than this one.

FINAL final thought, after completing to the extras, you'd have to turn off your mind to enjoy this. It's all fluff, the MC is loved by everyone he meets, the few who don't change their minds or are dealt with. Logic flies out of the window, like how the MC picked up a bunch of kids he knew had somewhere else to be (besides the snow leopard) and just doesn't care, he keeps them. The panda is the most blatant case since he knows it's someone's kid and makes some half hearted attempts to find his family before it's basically ignored. The other two at least technically go to him on their own.

The story gets a bit mushy towards the end, I did love ch 90 because it moved very well emotionally, but others seemed a tad too dramatic for me. Also, other descriptions overused in the story made the repetitions so much worse.

It's a nice story, I would have to read it slowly to really enjoy it (like a few chapters a day), but usually, if I'm reading something slowly it's because my interest in it is pretty low.

Cute and fluffy, but maybe start skimming if it gets too repetitive <<less

The title was well chosen but the description was a bit misleading, Gu YuMian didn’t take some high paying job where he could use his zookeeper skills. Instead he became a food anchor who was raising “cubs”. This story is pure fluff and felt too heavily focused on food then the plot for the majority (at times it felt like more of a cook book then a novel). The emperor’s identity being the snow leopard cub isn’t even revealed to Gu YuMian until around chapter 80. At least once the... more>> big reveal happens the story finally gains some substance and picks up the plot.

Spoiler

The whole plot of Gu YuMian being sort of indirectly responsible for the zergs and the witch was a bit confusing. I will say I did like the abo extra even though it was short it had less fillers unlike the main story, which spent the majority repeating similar material over and over.
