Hello, everyone! My name is Shen Jianguo. I am a night school instructor teaching ideological development and Marxist philosophy, occasionally analyzing recent policies and measures for my students.

All my classes are held in the middle of the night; I’ve never seen my coworkers or students during the day. The training institute’s classrooms are all in abandoned schools, hospitals, or residences. The license plate number of the bus that picks me up is 444; it always arrives at my house at precisely midnight and disappears at five in the morning.

What? You’re saying I’ve met a ghost? Impossible! As a staunch scientific materialist, I absolutely don’t believe there’s any such thing as ghosts!

I’ve only had one problem recently: couldn’t the training institute hold its classes a little earlier? Wouldn’t around 8 PM do? I fear neither heaven nor hell, but I do fear going bald.

So funny and cute! It's been a while since i've read something that actually makes me chuckle out loud. The MC is so funny. I love how oblivious and confidence he is sometimes. He is truly a good man at heart ~ The ML is so cute!

Specially when he was fighting the invisible ghost in the elevator HAHA I'm just imagining him swinging at open air and it cracks me up!

I liked it. It was short and fun.

If I had to nitpick, it would be; the author made MC intentionally dense for comedic effect but for me instead of humor, it diminished/reduced the character of MC.

The MC is very righteous and trustworthy.

one time he was told an item is very old and should not be carried around and taken out under sun. He agrees thinking its an antique. Then the next day he tries to mend it and put it under sun to dry. This scene is written as funny bit where he is so innocent and righteous that he tries to fix things but actually he is torturing ghosts. But it is not funny to me. It just paints him as an idiot, forgetting his promise and agreement just from 1 night ago.

sweet short story. The horror part is actually the comedy part of it. Even I am someone who don’t like horror can still appreciate it. MC is a bit dense but cute. ML is supportive and sweet. Side characters are all so sweet. The plot hole is not very disturbing, like you can see there plot hole and the author didn’t even try to hide it. I read the author other work, the special part is that the side characters have their unique characteristic and the vibe is positive.

4.6 stars, I LOVE THIS ONE.

I'm a scaredy cat, I don't read horror story much except it mix with comedy like "New time new hell" and this one has all the tags I want so I gave it a try and it's perfect. The MC is a optimistic one with his own comedic thought, he's kind in any possible ways but not to the point of annoying. The ML is not outstanding here but he's not a stubborn freak and willing to watch and learn. The ghost characters had their... more>> own tragedy, they are fierce but still cute most of the time.

Overall is very satisfying, from the beginning to the extra, I love every chapters of this novel. <<less

At first, I thought this novel was just a cliche horror comedic novel with an overly naive MC and boring plot but as I continue to read, it is actually full of fluff.. (for me though) , some tragic backstory, and interesting way to view life. I love the MC's way of "theoretical knowledge" and optimistically tortured those ghosts in hilarious ways. This novel also ends in satisfying way without hard feelings or the feeling of being hanged. Overall, I really like it and highly recommended.

this is such a cute novel!! I love teacher shen's personality so much and how he helped the ghosts transcend each time without knowing it. Im also very thankful for the extras because it gave ning tiance's pov during the whole time with teacher shen and how he gradually fell in love with him.

all in all, a very funny and cute novel 🥰❤️

Two words. Amazing and hilarious. Yes maybe it's hard to find someone as fearless as teacher Sheng, but it is intended to be a funny book and it serve beautifully.

The book is hilarious and the joke is never old. Throught reading this I laugh my ass off which surprised me since not many novel can actually make me laugh because the joke rarely delivered right. But here, I found myself wanting for more of this and even though I'm sad it ended, I'm still glad I get to read this... more>> amazing book.

Recommended for people who just want to have a nice laugh and fast read. Thank you for the translator for dedicating so much time translating this. <<less

So far, it's hilarious. However, I'm having problems with the MC. Maybe it's because it's written in a first POV, the thoughts of the MC are exposed to the readers. Hence, I sometimes get annoyed or frustrated by his personality. This is especially when he encounters people who believe in ghosts and he would invalidate them. I get that he's a materialist or has a whatever ideology. Let's see if my opinion would change. I'll be continuing.

Personally I think this novel is bit overrated, I was expecting so much after seeing the ratings or maybe I compared it to other popular high rated novels. But still it is a really good read with funny plots and interesting characters. The translation is done well.

For those who found this book to their liking, I recommend you '' New Times, New Hell'', which is also a hilarious novel like this one.

The story is perfection, and the translation is perfect as well. It is one of the most comfortable and satisfying reading experiences I've had. Lovely, warm and sweet. I loved both the MC and the ML.

I was attracted by the synopsis and thought it would be hilarious to see MC's obliviousness. But it was way too much for me to handle. Throughout the novel, I just had one sentence in my mind regarding MC, 'impossible'. I still cannot believe one can be as dense as him, that too in this aspect. Thus, I didn't really enjoy the main theme.

Not your typical comedy-horror story (honestly more of just supernatural stuff than horror). Made me chuckle quite a bit. A touching, satisfying, and humorous story. A Perfect ending. Kudos to translator-sama.

Definitely worth your time.

Funny, sweet and short, easy to follow plot. Just be patient with the MC coz he's a little dense and oblivious until almost the end of the story. Lol. Good thing that the ML was patient and open to shou's craziness from time to time. MC's very gentle and have a strong sense of justice and righteousness which makes him strong in some way to fight the ghosts. Story 8.5/10.
