Seria, a social outcast, has changed.
Seria Stern, the wicked woman who made everyone tremble with fear, was now calm.

In fact, she wasn’t just changed, she was a completely different person.

The moment she realized that she had possessed the body of the villain Seria, in a romance novel, she had a hunch about the future and decided to live low.

She would avoid kidnapping and harassing the original heroine, hence preventing her death by decapitation at the hands of Kalis, the second male lead.

In order to avoid that, she had to fix her bad relationship with Kalis and even healed his injured arm.

Thanks to that she got engaged with him, so it’s all worked out.
Finally, the original heroine returned, and her husband, Lesche, should be on good terms with her now.

Lots of fair and detailed reviews already but i'll add my two cents as well. I'm really interested in what i've seen of the magic system. I'd love to know more about the 'Sterns' and how they differ from the saintess' and other magic powers we've seen snippets of. Why can they only divorce on a certain day? Why is the bond between a Stern couple so important breaking it literally kills you? Its fascinating to think about. I hope we do get some answers amongst the action and romance.... more>> Really enjoying it so far! <<less

Really great novel so far. MC has transmigrated into the body of the villainess. One thing I found refreshing, although sad, is how scared she is of dying the villainess’ death. Readers learn she has terrible nightmares of her fate, being beheaded, and often cries and pleads for help in her sleep. Because of that she works effortlessly to fix her horrible image and as a result is geared up to marry the 2nd ML, which she comes to love after spending time with him, although things go astray. Additionally,... more>> I like how the author depicts the lingering trauma the MC’s body feels although the MC has no memories of the OG FL. So far the tragedies experienced by the MC feel fresh and real, the emotions feel real. Everything is going really well right now, and that makes me excited and kinda of scared of what future tragedies our MC will face.

And finally, I like the communication between characters. One thing that has always drove me crazy is the half-assed and brain dead misunderstandings authors typically write. This novel generally avoids that and only has characters communicating well with each other. <<less

In most transmigration/isekai novels, the person possessing the villainess' body got in before the main plot of the novel, so she will try to befriend her destined enemies or victims so she can change her story. The Tragedy of The Villainess begins after that exact part of the story, where the now-ex villain Seria has successfully helped her victim and was engaged to him prior to meeting the Saintess MC. But the unique element of this novel was that unlike most isekais we've read, things still didn't go as planned... more>> for Seria despite her efforts and that's where the real plot begins. <<less

This story is phenomenal!!! And the translations are good as well. I recommend, but be wary this is the type of story that will aggravate you as a reader, the two side characters are incredibly annoying but I think that’s the charm of the story. Only criticism is that the male lead and the female lead don’t have much chemistry as of yet but we are only 23 chapters in so I’ll stay patient, hoping for more convos between them. I love <3!!!

Dropped, for someone who supposedly is a college student, she doesn't do anything and lets people run over her. Like I'm reading it to not get frustrated because our MC can't do sh*t and lets the original FL walk all over her. I'm reading it because I wanna see some face-slapping but no, she just slaps herself in the face. It's not satisfying at all when the MC is as another reviewer said, has the personality of a limp noodle. Nor when these supposedly powerful people can't seemingly do anything... more>> if helpful or use their power to their advantage? <<less

Really interesting novel. It was good for rage against tr*sh and comedy.

I appreciated that the author tried to make Lina a complete character, even if she was unlikable, she really was a sad character.

It was like a story of how unhealthy obsessions with fictional characters can destroy their destinies and lives. I did like how faith was handled and they didn't turn the Temple into villains.

I'll give 5 stars for the ml. 🤣 I enjoyed the novel very much. The characters are my favourite. The translator did a great work! The manga just released. But I think it is tr*sh compared with the novel.

Few starting chapters might be frustrating but it will gradually become better. Some of the drama or rather dialogues are idiotically frustrating as that’s how they are made but was once they are treated they gradually become better.

I can't really stress how much I loved this novel.

I searched for it thinking it might be silver but what I found was diamond. The emotions it gave me were such a Rollercoaster! At times it seemed like a horror novel, but other times it was too sweet. And sure enough, it has that bit of angst to spice things up, more noticeable at the start, I was suffering alongside with Seria.

I didn't expect to fall in love so deeply with Lesche Berg or to find so cute the chief... more>> aide Linon. And then Abigail also was such an adorable character.

I wasn't able to stop reading till the very end, and can say confidently this is now one of my favorites novels. Angst, horror, drama, magic, royalty, a sprinkle of spicy stuff, and sweet sweet romance, what more could I ask for? (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈) <<less

I am almost done. This story is very good, with suspense, love, fantasy. Sometimes it can be a little confusing, but I like the fast flow. I don't feel bored as in other stories that are so slow that I give up.

Having read the whole story, it starts off as a romance and devolves into a fantasy mystery. I think the story was interesting, and I enjoyed the mystery aspect with the divine powers, however, there is a big caveat, the story was h311a confusing!

It probably super difficult to translate something from another language and still portray the original meaning, but I always find that many Korean novel translations have a weird obsession with titles being used to sub in for pronouns. Every other sentence is Stern this, Stern that, Berg... more>> this, Berg that. STAPHHHH! This is not how an english speaker would ever use a title. If you want to direct translate something, it must still make sense to the english speaker, using Butler as a title for someone over and over again isn't intuitive for english readers. It's super jarring as an english speaker, as a title is used to sub in for he/she/names of individuals in every sentence.

Plus, aside from the overuse of titles, so many things were lost in translation that many parts of the story were hard to make sense of while reading, Whole conversations took place and I never understood what was happening. I had to fill in the gaps by reading ahead or just try to read between the lines. I still want to thank the translator for working so hard, as it's a super difficult and laborious task that is being done for free. I was able to read the story thanks to the translators efforts, but I would like to caution readers that be prepared to be confused while reading the story. <<less

The first few chapters were annoying because of Lina and Kalis but afterwards, the story progresses mostly without Lina in it and the way Kalis regretted his actions is soooo satisfying!! Also, Lesche is amazing! He and Seria are such wonderful couple. They’re both powerful, smart, and beautiful. I also didn’t expect that the story has so much mystery/fantasy to it, I thought it was just your typical romance revenge novel. Reading this is so worth it! Thank you so much for the translators!

My favorite part is the turnaround when MC realizes that she can't just be "good" and "avoid trouble, " trouble was going to find her no matter what, so she had to start fighting for herself.

Main character is really fantastic. ML is also pretty adorable. He starts off as your typical cold/iceberg ML but slowly gets more personality. But he's still slightly more one-dimensional compared to the MC.

Overall plot and everything was done pretty well. Good pacing and ramp up. MC was strong but not too OP, there was a lot of tension and ups-and-downs that kept things exciting.

Translation was not bad, mostly understandable, language and word-choice could have been smoother. <<less

I really enjoy the story thus far. Some parts of the plots were a bit predictable, but not in a bad way. Rather, the author did a good job dropping the necessary clues to make the connections.

Once the true antagonist (the one behind Lina) stepped into the stage, things got a bit more farfetched, but it's still a good story.

I really appreciate that Seria is the protagonist/heroine of the plot and Lesche is a great support character (and love interest) for her without robbing her of her role. Oftentimes, FLs... more>> end up taking a more passive/cheerleading/healing role while the ML is set as the doer/hero of the plot. So this novel stands out precisely because Seria is the one solving the conflict and Lesche is simply helping her. They are a great team who rely on each other and learn to communicate to avoid misunderstands.

Lesche also gets brownie points because he's not at all toxic and he's a great character all around. Seria is awesome - - capable, active, smart and charming. The author gets extra brownie points for having Seria earn the loyalty and friendship of Vivi, her personal female knight (former assassin) who is so damn badass, mysterious and hilarious. I really hope one of the side stories is about her.

I highly recommend this if you like a a strong and active female lead coupled with a supportive and respectful male lead surrounded by a cast of colorful and endearing characters. <<less

rating 5 stars because honestly this is the first 100+ chapters isekai novel that ive read till the end, some of the conflict are very confusing (or its just me being dumb) but im still invested in it so its a good sign. This isekai is a damn rollercoaster and I have so many questions.

I like this one and still looking forward to new chapters.

The FL was a bit annoying for me in the beginning but it got better. Lesche is the best hubby. I like his pov's/ parts of the story.

Kalis is scum. I don't understand how he can prioritize the new friend Lina over his fiance Seria.. This is a red flag and I'm glad the wedding between them didn't happen. Him & Lina have mental issues..

-Lina wants to be close to Seria so Seria can gift the necklace Lesche gave to... more>> her. Do you really think so.

-Kalis on the other hand has the nerve to blame and make a fuss to Seria because of this & that. Selfish people. <<less

i like this one a lot. The plot is good even if a bit cliche at times, the reincarnation plot device is actually very useless and the story would have been better without it but still, this story pulled me in. A nice mystery, plus a serves-you-right wish-fullfilment novel. The worldbuilding is great too. Sometimes I wish the romance was skipped so seria could be badass and hunt demons on her own or something, but it's still good.

I really like this novel, its definitely a good story that is translated well. But there are parts where the translation is sometimes hard to understand, at least the translators gives us a heads up.

What I really like about this is the flow if the story and the slow but rewarding build up of the MC and ML. Honestly its as if there isnt a chapter where the ML and MC isn't together. There is, but they almost always together, which I actually like. But if you are looking for... more>> a read that also focuses on supporting characters, don't cuz it doesn't really focus on them. The ML isn't the very obsessive type, just the jealuos type I guess. So, watching him hate on the 2nd ML isn't cringey and hard to read, rather I enjoy it cuz it really shows how much he cares for the FL. And to add to his charm, he doesn't really try to limit the MC's actions even though he wants to lol.

I also really like the MC and the little hints about the "original" story that comes with her. Although we ddn't really read how she tried to change her image as a villainess, I think its fine. I believe the story revolve more on how the MC and ML builds up their relationship why trying to uncover the secrets of the original. And I like that cuz it doesnt overcomplicate the story where the MC tries to balance everything. Well that how I felt about it anyways. It felt like I was slowly trying to uncover these secrets together with the MC, so it was a fun experience even though you kinda already have theories on the real identity of Lina and her powers. The MC isn't overly nice and naive, which is why I liked how she didn't immediately forgive 2nd ML, and didn't try to befriend Lina even though in her mind she should do so just to make sure she ain't dying.

In regards to the 2nd ML and Lina, I still kinda like the 2nd ML while I'm unsure about lina. In these types stories the 2nd Ml, or the abandoned ML usually had done the MC dirty via intentionally hurting her. So, usually the reader wouldn't care anymore for the 2nd ML. But not this 2nd ML. After our MC is like "she or me?" the 2nd ML chooses her and decides to fully cut ties with Lina. Butt...

because the little sh*t Is absolutely spoiled and doesnt give a damn about the rules of this world, she begs the 2nd ML to go to the glacier for "old time's sake". This in turn causes them to miss the wedding and which would've caused the 2nd ML and MC to die if it weren't for Lina and ML to marry 2nd ML and MC respectively. 2nd ML later on is really and truly regretful cuz he really loved the MC and wanted to marry her, to the point that I feel bad for him cuz MC just gives him the cold shoulder. THis boils down to everything to become Lina's fault cuz she has this crazy evil moon powers that might've manipulated 2nd ML. Which gave me hope that there would actually be a fair rivalry. Sadly noxaltacct's review said that the MC will forever hate 2nd ML and her family, which Im sad about cuz cuz I thought there should at least be proper closure and the 2nd ML seemed to properly repent. ALthough the ML would definitely win in this love rivalry, I just wanted to see the illusion that 2nd ML at least had a chance.

I find lina really hateful cuz she just does what she wants, ad what she wants is whatever MC has. But I'm also unsure on how to feel about her cuz it doesn't feel like she is intentionally doing this, as if there is something coercing her to do these things.

It was a good read. I liked it. A lot. I just didn't like the ending. I felt so bad for the 2nd ML. Seria isn't meant to be nice but she was too cruel at the end with 2nd ML and her younger brother. Otherwise, I enjoy the interactions between Seria and Lesche. Also like the side characters a lot. There are parts that seem rushed and glossed over but overall it was enjoyable.
