A beautiful love story that's light without feeling incomplete or too sugary. I love the characterization. The MC who is stubborn, naive, and straightforward as the reader should expect from a stone that has gained a soul after existing for so long, and the male lead goes through many facets in his incarnations that don't feel false or contrived. Reincarnation is supposed to be about growth through trials, and the story handles those themes well in addition to the larger plot of the mismatched couple's love. I can't... more>> squee about this enough. Well-translated, and short enough to read in a night. <<less

This little story is a gem for anyone who love interesting female lead, hilarious prose and heart wrenching partings. This can be read in less than one hour but you may need more time to quell your tears in between the separation between the leads.

Pick this short novel to experience a roller coaster of expression from laughing to crying on the antics of the characters.

I don't reread stories usually, but I've reread this one at least 3 times. It's definitely a tearjerker.

Only con is that you have to ignore or skip over the unpleasant child-adult scenes. I personally think the author's did not mean to offend people and inclue those scenes, but did so to highlight the hardships Sansheng and Moxi had to go through in the various lives. However, grooming is very much a real issue that is not ok. If you're able to ignore that, this is a classic, but otherwise, avoid.

4.5/5. I actually really really loved it. From how sansheng started to feel emotions to how both of them slowly fell in love through life and death situations. I would've given it a 5 if not for some uncomfortable pedo-like scenes.
Spoiler

I know his soul is thousands of years old but still, in the mortal world with his memories locked, he was nothing more than a mere kid. The first life was still better. But the third one gave me creeps. Her kissing and hugging him, the 8y/o ML blushing and saying he only loves her and wants to marry her, a mother figure.

[collapse]
It felt so awkward reading all that. If I close one eye to this behaviour, I'd say it's a very good romance where the relationship is built on hardships and trust. My only regret is that this is not a smut. Oh how I wish it were.

Glad for reading this story in the end because it was simply a beautiful story. The tragedy tag wasn't a misleading though because MC and ML will meet misfortune after misfortune almost throughout the story because:

Spoiler

ML, the god of war, had to undergo 3 tribulations in lower realm that consists of: to part though he is in love, to meet though there is enmity, and to seek what he cannot have. He accidentally met MC, who was a stone spirit in underworld, before he went to lower realm. MC, who fell in love with ML at the first sight, decided to follow ML to lower realm and helped him with his tribulations. In those 3 lifetimes, MC and ML always separated from each other in different cruel ways. So yeah, that's pretty much a tragedy.

[collapse]

But don't worry, although the story was filled with tragedy, it still has a happy ending so don't avoid reading it just because of the tragedy tag. <<less

A short story of a romance fan who doesn't really know what shes talking about when she promises to seduce the first beautiful person that made her heart skip a beat. The connection she and her ML form through their various adventures is hilarious and touching. Her perspective is primary with the ML's thoughts and feelings communicated through his actions. The world building is weak. The secondary characters on earth are fairly weak. The romance is good but ... more>>
Spoiler

I was left with an odd feeling of grooming. Which given who they are is absolutely not what happened.

[collapse]

The sweep of this story is epic and it fits fairly well into just a few chapters and epilogues. I was left wanting more only because how fun I found reading this to be. It legitimately made me laugh out loud more than once. I reread this whenever I want to laugh and sigh at how sweet our two leads are.
Spoiler

Be warned none of their lives ends well, but we as readers are rarely left feeling that. The sweet silliness of our FL usually balances that out nicely.

Highly recommend. <<less

Good read, nice plot and cute characters.

the characters are very cute and lovable. Well mostly the MCs I guess, since theres not much development for others (considering the short length of the story). That doesn't stop it from having a great storyline though. The ending was also fairly well executed and sweet.

Sansheng was a lovely, quick read.

I had a couple of laughs due to the FL's antics but I also had some teary eyed moments in between.

I liked the first world they had together, I thought it was full of love that ended abruptly just as they're about to build their own future together.

Good quality translation from hamster428. Thank you and kudos! ❤️

This really is the perfect little short story. I absolutely adore Sansheng. She is direct, not at all coy or bashful, and is most faithful in her devotion to Moxi.

She started off as a stone Spirit who was dazzled by the god of war, but she grew to love him as her own soul as the story progresses. Its just a beautiful story.

Would have loved to experience more of this world, of course. But, for the short 18 chapters, we get 3 completed, satisfying storylines.

Absolutely recommend

This was absolutely amazing. I usually don't like reading stuff that has some tragedy/angst but this was amazing because it had a happy ending. The tragedy/angst just added onto the romance and made it all the more better. It was short and sweet and funny. I kind of wished it was longer but then again it probably wouldn't be as good.

Very good story. It's got the feels and everything. It's also not a very long story, so I won't try to describe it. If you're looking for something to read, and you even remotely like romance, then you should give it a try.

A MUST READ FOR ALLLLLLLL!!!!!!

This story is just so captivating. From a light and innocent encounter, she, a stone spirit went to the human world to withstand 3 lifetimes of trials with the War God. I just can't believe the story can be so wonderful but so short yet so satisfying too! I'm full of complex feeling after reading it.

Absolutely amazing novel.

Pros:

    • The translation of this novel was unreal. The sentences were poetic and flowing, it read very smoothly
    • Read this if you liked Three Lives Three Worlds, Heavy Sweetness Ash-like Frost etc. And other xianxia stories
    • BADASS HEROINE. Seriously badass, she was a no-nonsense take-no-prisoners heroine who takes one look at a much higher ranked deity and still decided she would seduce him, come hell or high water. Her straightforward gumption and raw honesty was so admirable.
    • The poor male lead who, even though we don't get much from his pov, I honestly felt really sorry for at times
      Spoiler

because he never really got to live out a full life with the heroine even once. He had to spend way too much time pining for her while being all depressed. Damn you, Siming!

      [collapse]
Cons:

    • Too short. You could have made this into a long drawn-out epic like 3L3W and I would have been A-OK. That is how much I love Sansheng and her Moxi. They are the epitome of epic romance bundled with cute fluff.
I've re-read this novel at least three times already, it's a perennial favourite. The feels, man, the feels. Right in the kokoro. This book is 100% guaranteed to turn me into a happy leaky faucet.

This is a short, wonderful story that will make you laugh and tug on your heartstrings. The characters are so charming and the story premise is pure and simple (much like the main character). Plot:
A stone in Hell gains sentience and falls in love with the God of War from Heaven. She asks to "seduce" him and they live three lives together in the mortal world despite the fate that is destined to tear them apart.

Characters:
Female MC - Sansheng is as you would expect for a stone-turned-spirit: simple,... more>> direct, practical, and persistent. She has a habit of saying whatever comes to mind (no matter how much it embarrasses who she's talking to). She is naive about the ways of the world (she's been a rock for a millenia) but she isn't s*upid. She is very endearing and honest.

Male MC - Moxi starts out as a perfect god, but when he's just a normal human with no memories -- he's too adorable and loveable. You can't help but love him.

There aren't many other characters worth mentioning. The few recurring characters aren't bad (they're quite good, actually), it's just that heavy focus is on the main characters.

Translation:
The translation for this series is fantastic. Hamster428 has a talent for using vivid vocabulary and perfectly translating conversations and feelings. The English is nearly flawless and the translation adds to the story rather than distracting.

Recommendation:
I REALLY enjoyed reading this. The pacing is great, the story is simple but entertaining, and it's a really light-hearted read that will make you smile and almost cry a few times.
It reminds me of "Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes, All Thanks to a Single Moment of Impulse" (another one of my favorites), but Sansheng is shorter and the translation quality is much better. <<less

Nice little story about a female pursuing a male across multiple lives, without extending too much to overstay its welcome.

If you take your time to analyse the writing, you'll find that it's not the best it could be, but it paints the story well, and the translation is not full of non-english bits pieced together, so it's well conveyed in english too.

Overall, it's a nice little story that I enjoyed for a few hours, so I recommend giving it a go if you are into fairly light love stories.

This SEVEN chapters is definitely short. But you can read it again and again with no boredom at all. Deserve the 5/5 stars in every word. Who ever did think that stone can never have love, change your mind and start the 1st chapter, NOW. No regret.
