As he graduated from junior high, Nagito Senda began dating Kiri Asatani, but he got dumped when they started high school. While recovering from his broken heart, he saw Nozomi Takane, a girl in his class, being harassed by a pushy club recruiter, and decided to help her. The two quickly grew closer as they sit together in class and go to and from school together. One day, as the two were cleaning the library, Kiri comes up to Nozomi and asks,

I hate this kind of cliche where MC & fMC didn't told that they starat date & keep it secret to everyone

In this story, it's like they repeat what MC & his EX doing

His EX got some mental damage for not letting go of MC even after dump him. Why should she suddenly approach him when the other day she keep one's distance away

The point is I hate it when they keep secret about dating to everyone & holding back on their relationship like it just some sort of title... more>> without meaning, this is some dense character with some step

Btw MC is a dormat/saint who place everyone over himself so myeah <<less

It's good so far, cant bring myself to like his Ex. The relationship between the second girl and the MC is cute, I'm just hoping the MC can move on, like the second girl is the perfect girlfriend for him, she is so cute, this is her first relationship and she looks like the type of girlfriend who would take care of you and Wife material, idk if she can cook since I just started reading but she and the MC def needs to end up with each other. Idek... more>> why the Ex accepted his confession, dumped him and now she somehow gets kinda jealous, idk if she is jealous or not since she might be just acting and hiding her feelings. Istg she gives me Mami vibes from Rent a Girlfriend but not insane. Hoping the MC really ends up with the second girl. <<less

This is supposed to be a love triangle drama, or that is, what the synopsis makes you believe. It is actually a slice-of-life with quite a slow pace, and it's not because it wants to spend time building up characters. Many of these chapters are just filler, and to be honest, they're quite boring to read. That of course, is just a minor issue I personally have with this novel.

I would be lying to you if I say that it is different from other generic rom-coms. Gary Stu MC is... more>> what you'd get, and of course, both his current girlfriend and his ex are considered outstandingly beautiful. One is an idol, while the other is an honor student (cliché much?). The author seems to play it safe here, as there are no game-changing elements this novel brings. And to be honest, for a slice-of-life, that is okay.

Ex-girlfriend fighting fiercely with current girlfriend with the MC as a price... is not what is happening here. She ends their relationship herself, and she actually respects the MC's choice of having himself a new girlfriend without intruding in their relationship. As of now, she feels more like a side character. The reason is probably because she feels that she traps the MC too much, since she is an idol, and idol culture in Japan can ruin an idol and her loved one's lives if their relationship gets out to the public. Her motives for what she did are understandable, and honestly you can't fault her much here. Overall, not a badly-written character.

New girlfriend is an honor student, and reason why she falls in love with MC is as cliché as it gets. She gets saved by him when being harassed by a bunch of people. She and the MC starts a relationship right after that, and here I have to vent about something. Why does their relationship have to be kept in the dark again? Because fMC is shy? What the heck? Ex girlfriend's reason for hiding her relationship with MC is understandable because she is an idol, but what about the fMC? Not like she'd lose anything if she and the MC publicly date? What's the reason? So the rest of the story can happen? Aw f*ck off.

Supporting casts so far are quite forgettable. I only remember one of the MC's friends but that's it. She shows up quite often and that's the main reason I even remember her.

Anyways, two words I have to say about this one. Safe and generic. Have a nice day lads. <<less

It is a novel with classic characters, a very reserved and kind protagonist, as seen in many other novels, and an ex-girlfriend who is an idol with whom he never had romantic moments because they kept him.
However, the interesting thing is that the ex-girlfriend ends the MC for some strange reason despite the fact that she did not want to because she is still close and implying that she still wants the MC not to stop loving her, or at least that is how they paint it since when the new girlfriend appears she seems upset but tries to get along with both parties.
So you have to see the reason why he finished the main character and how the story unfolds for that

It is an interesting read so far, can't really tell much due to lack of translated chaps. If you are going to drop, I don't suggest dropping till c4 or 5 as the story doesn't really start till there. Somewhat felt like Prologue chaps? Each of the main character's have flaws and good points, so it'll be interesting to see how this goes for now.

The ex girlfriend is a celebrity who brought up the breakup. Even though they were in a relationship for a year, they never did romance stuff... more>> as either the MC couldn't bring himself to take the extra steps, or that the ex was preventing it. You can tell that something is restricting her, probably her idol agency, perhaps other reasons. When she notices that MC had another beautiful girl, the only one that can match with her in the school start to follow him around, she gets jealous, and her seemingly crafted personality she uses to act in public starts cracking apart, declaring that she was his ex when she never admitted to anyone she was in a relationship, only for it to backfire and causing the new girl to declare herself as the girlfriend. It is also possible that the ex just has a twisted personality, and her possessiveness kicked in after she noticed this, as whether you wish to admit or not, the celebrity industry is a dark circle.

The second girl is acting how you would think a actual relationship would go. She is a mannerful proper girl, and top of her class. Unlike the ex, she if not afraid of people gossiping about her.

The MC is too considerate and reserved for his own good. He has a mix of an unrequited love and fan mentality to his ex. Perhaps the breakup was forged to fix this problem as they seemed to not be able to get closer to each other. Perhaps the ex's original plan was to forge a break up a few days to make him speak/stand up for himself, and not her. However, the MC ended up becoming extremely close to the only other girl in the class that could match up to her.

The settings are interesting, hopefully story will not be ruined. <<less

The novel opens really strong with a very unnerving development that really hooks you. It felt like a mystery novel where the mystery is figuring out what the hell is going on inside the mind of the ex. However, the pacing is very very slow, and many chapters pass by with the MC simply waxing philosophical about his past misfortunes, his lingering feelings for his ex and his budding feelings for his new girlfriend without any other significant concrete plot developments. I'm still curious to know how the ex is... more>> going to justify her actions, but at this point I doubt that the explanation could possibly be satisfying enough to compensate for the yawn-inducing intervening chapters. It is a well-written novel though, and I think if only the plot were a little snappier, it could've been exceptional. <<less
