In his past life, the little terrified bun, Wei Jing, tried attracting his father’s attention by summoning his courage to fight for inheritance against the elder brother who pampered him. He was badly bruised and hurt as a result of it.

In the end, he was kicked out of the family by his father and he died as a result of a car accident.

In this life, he decided to be a good child, not causing trouble nor being willful. He won’t try to steal the company from his elder brother.

Best, he’ll stay far away from the family.

The reborn Wei Zhe watched as his sweet little brother gradually distanced himself from him.

“Heh! You want to leave? Did you ask me first?”

I finished this with mtl and I must say I was a bit underwhelmed. I expected something a bit better than this to be honest and I feel cheated. It is an okay read IMO but wei jing is way too naive, too much of a crying bag.... those genuine white lotuses you see in quick transmigrations who drive others to counterattack.... he is it. He is a true madonna and if not for Wei Zhe.... he would be trampled and left with nothing. This was a total waste of... more>> a rebirth. The writing in this felt flat and drab in some places. 3 stars. <<less

I'm not sure I understand all the negative reviews for this novel. It is a rather simple story, but it's full of a lot of emotions and sweet interactions.

I MTL'd the whole story, and it's pretty easy to understand. Despite the title and the description, the MC is not a weakling or a crybaby. He demonstrates his strength and resilience multiple times in the novel. He cries very few times, and when he does cry I feel like it is in situations where most people would probably cry as well.

Spoiler

When Wei Jing (MC) and his friend are kidnapped as children, he is incredibly resilient despite being in a child's body. He rescues his friend, keeps his friend safe, gets them both away from the bad guys, gets himself seriously injured in the process. Even as a little kid he tries to do things for himself.

Later he passionately works towards forming his own career because he wants to make money for himself and not be a burden. He becomes an incredibly talented and humble artist. He made a mistake in his previous life and all he wants is to try and make up for it and be good to Wei Zhe (ML). He also wants to try and save his friends who encountered bad luck in the previous life as well.

Later on, he tries multiple times to be independent and not burden anyone but ML doesn't want to let him go. He deeply cherishes MC. You also start to realize as the novel goes on the ML is actually the one who reliant on the MC. Towards the end ML states that MC has all kinds of friends and family, but all he has is MC.

[collapse]

People in the reviews are calling Wei Jing (MC) naive, but honestly he just seems like an incredibly kind hearted person. He has experienced some awful things (neglectful mother, neglectful father, isolation, bullying, neglect) but he remains kind and tries to help others.

Also, the character development of Wei Min was nice to see.

Overall, as I said above, the story is somewhat simple but it has a lot of emotion in it. I don't think it deserves all the poor reviews it has gotten. There were moments that truly tugged at my heart strings and made me a bit emotional, and I think the novel is worth a read. <<less

It's average. The way the summary is written I expected it that the MC (spoiler) transmigrates to his late teens but it's actually in preteens ???

His other brother is 5 and scheming against him ? Kids are cruel but even they aren't this intelligent. Plus the MC was 21 when he transmigrated. I just don't see it.

It's a bit frustrating novel. It's okay but nothing groundbreaking.

This has strong similarities to Rebirth of the Wolfish Silkpants Bottom, except the MC isn't the vengeful or calculating, but instead is more of a 'white lotus' type.

MC's father, Wei He and the younger, illegitimate brother, Wei Min (and his mistress mother?) seem to be the main villains. For the younger brother, I still find it hard to suspend my disbelief for him being so manipulative. He's only 6-years-old at this point in the chapter...

Spoiler

Good, later on, Wei Min changes. Whew, I'm glad. Also, spoilers that MC's father isn't his father, which is why he hated MC.

I read until Chapter 32 before deciding to drop this. Although I don't hate dumb characters, I can only stand them when their intelligence is consistent. This kind of story where the IQ of the protagonists suddenly crash down in order to move the plot is simply unacceptable to me.

Spoiler

Why does the brother believe what Wei Min said? It doesn't make any sense at all. Even before his rebirth, he already kept his guard up against Wei Min despite his youth, why would he put it down now that he's more mature? Does he think that Wei Min won't be able manipulate him? If so, why? He's depicted as calm and mature, it doesn't make sense for him to be that arrogant about himself.

I understand that he needs to realize the problems with his relationship to MC before their rebirth, and that the author probably couldn't think of a better way to do it. If you could stand such shortcuts, this wouldn't affect you.

[collapse]

Spoiler

I was thinking of ignoring ML's IQ drop, but then the MC's IQ plummeted as well. Why doesn't he put his guard up against Wei Min? He did so when he was reborn, why would he put it down just because Wei Min's mother is now out of the picture? He knows that Wei Min's maternal family is still here and still dangerous! The author excuses it as "he sees his younger self in Wei Min" but that's obviously not a fair comparison! Why does MC conveniently forget the danger of Wei Min's maternal family? He willingly gets close to Wei Min's cousin despite noting that he seems dangerous, and he unhesitatingly goes with them to places. It's not like his brain returned to being a toddler just because he was reborn as one. He's suddenly so s*upid, as if he doesn't want to live anymore and just wants to enjoy life, which would make sense for a different character, but not this one.

[collapse]

It's not that I hate illogical, face-slapping, revenge stories. I loved Rebirth of a Wolfish Silkpants Bottom despite its faults, because although the cannonfodders are, well, cannonfodders, their intelligence level, as well as the main and side characters', remain consistent throughout. Nobody gets suddenly dumb or suddenly smart.

All in all, I probably won't pick this up again. 1/5 for the story and 1/5 for the entertainment. It was pretty average at first, but then that sudden crash of IQ hit me like a truck and took away all my goodwill and replaced it with irritation.

I would say this is a turn-your-brain-off book to read if you want to relax and not stimulate your mind, but you may just end up being angered by how these characters suddenly turns their own brains off because the author needs them to for the sake of furthering the plot. <<less

Completed the main story through MTL and I think it's an alright story! The premise is similar to Rebirth of the Wolfish Silkpants Bottom but I prefer this one more.
Spoiler

ML here isn't as slimey as RWSB's ML and MC here is an adorable bby qwq it was so uncomfy reading the other novel (cry)

at least big brother wei zhe has the decency to wait 2 lifetimes and confirm little wei jing's feelings before sneaking tofu!! even though he most likely wouldn't let go of wei jing anyway but no underage tofu eating!!!

[collapse]

The plot isn't the most exciting but I liked reading MC and ML's progress with each other. MC is a weary and remorseful reincarnator who got a chance to right his wrongs. Admittedly, he became a giant crying bag but still cute. His thinking and actions are rather childish/babied, and he acknowledges it (as far as I could tell with mtl) due to ML spoiling and pampering him for 2 lifetimes lol
Spoiler

MC is wholly a dense baby who clings onto ML's thighs and has no intention of stirring the pot. He's here to buy soy sauce and leave the business to ML ☜ (uㅅu ☜) smart move I'd say, if ML wasn't (pulls out trap card) reborn as well!

now MC is a dense baby held in ML's palms and all he has to do is grow up happily and warmly beside him (ृ ˘ ꒳ ˘ ृ ) da ge will shelter him!

[collapse]

Overall, nothing much to say, in my opinion! A good read to pass the time~

i love innocent and a bit naive characters but for characters who has experienced betrayals and concocted schemes in their previous life and then was reborn with the mindset of an adult and yet somehow their IQ just keeps dropping as the story unfolds, I just have one thing to say: waste of time

This would've been better with some smut! Lots of smut...

It would also be better if the MC wasn't so naive. Its really hard to tell that he's reborn with how clueless he was.

If not for the slight touch of taboo this story would be dull. So overall, good for a casual read.

I can't believe my eyes when I'm looking at the rating. Like why? The story definitely deserves better. It is sweet, touching and fun, with many moments that made me feel tears in my eyes. Okay, some parts of it were dragging a bit, but take it as a slice of life story, and it will work.

I loved, loved, loved the main pairing. Neither of them probably be good for anyone else but they are perfect for each other. The MC's immaturity and neediness and the ML's possessiveness and desire... more>> to protect are exactly what they both need. <<less

It’s not bad but, there were some things that kinda made me go ‘😐?’.

Mentally, the MC is an adult. But, he could not tell that Wei Min was scheming against him and that Wei Min’s older cousin was weird?

Like, I guess some might want to refute and say ‘oh, but he was basically raised and sheltered by his older brother’, but, I don’t think that’ll detoriate his IQ?

They literally mention that Wei Jing as an adult was good at all subjects apart from maths. Yet, he’s so- ugh. He keeps... more>> givin me these weird white lotus vibes and it’s really throwing me off basically.

And the older brother, Wei Zhe... They mentioned how he’s a genius and smart asf or smth and how he and Wei Jing were close when they were growing up.

And it said smth about how Wei Zhe would be on guard against anyone that wasn’t a coward or smth and he just believed Wei Min’s lies so easily?

Maybe I’m just thinking too much or something but I think that the characters are a bit iffy.

That’s just my opinion tho, try reading it for yourself. <<less

Well, this would be a good novel if age was consistent with characters. MC and side characters age are 5-7 years old but they act wrong. They all need to be added at lest 5-7 years for smooth reading. I dropped it because it was hard for me. I tried my best, but it didn’t work out. I hope author could fix it or review flaws. Thank you

I like rebirth stories and this novel is one of those stories I enjoyed.

The MC is cute and always relies to his elder brother. While the ML is an OP president and doting to his younger brother. I like their interaction and the story progressed enjoyably well.

This novel isn't outstanding or anything, but it is definitely a good read.

##Explanation of why MC is naive but not a fool:

Many people complained that the MC is very naive and called him a fool, s*upid (all the loving names ML calls him too) but I agree to disagree. Being naive isn't equivalent to being a fool. It is proved when ML is hospitalized in the first arc. MC explains his previous life here, that he was literally a pampered master who despite being ignored and disliked by his father... more>> was raised in a comfortable lifestyle. So he had a pretty basic one-tracked mind- Gain everyone's approval by doing something"- which made him get manipulated by the villains. So this inexperienced master committed mistake, and after his rebirth didn't miraculously become OP character who can do anything and everything. Since MC died as a clueless young master, he was reborn as one, no change. ML raised MC as spoiled in both his lives, once disguised as disciplining, and next time in the open. So, MC is naive, but he is compassionate towards his acquaintances and tries to help them.

##My love-hate feeling for ML

ML was a tsundere in his previous life, so hiding his affection for the MC and ML's "wait-and-see-what-MC-does" attitude resulted only in MC's insecurity, and death. So we understand his unbounded affection for MC after his rebirth. Though I want to blame ML for never apologizing to MC for pushing him towards desperation and death, I also understand ML's wariness towards his half-brothers due to all the conspiracies going around him. Only MC's death made him realize that MC was not a cunning villain, nor was his backstabbing ML is a result of his own thinking. MC just got swayed by others. We see that the author tries to make up for it by writing MC and ML's story starting from the backstabbing incident in the extras.

All in all, it's a good read. <<less

MC is unnecesarily dumb. He's 21 years old but he's too naive. I feel like there is a lot more ways the author could've written his character settings which can be naive but with the maturity of a 21 year old who died already in the past.

For him to be tricked by a 6-year-old... and to even remotely care abt that 6 yr old who was up to no good vs him when they were growing up? Doesn't seem realistic, honestly.

ML is supposed to be a genius, doesn't trust anyone,... more>> but believes a 6 yr old's words-- and he doesn't even like this 6 yr old!!! And he's 25 yrs old mentally already... what is happening in these weird plotlines.

But anw., still rated this 3 because it's quite fun to read if w/o the unnecessary s*upidity. MC is quite funny tbh, his 2 friends are also funny (and their interactions). MC and ML's interactions are also fun to read. I am even looking forward to how they would now grow up, but the dumbing down of IQ are too bold to not mind, and it really infuriates me as to how both adults in high society can be s*upid and get tricked by simple schemes. 💀 Honestly a bit reluctant to read further coz I feel like MC won't have the maturity of a 30+ yr old when he turns his original age before rebirth, but rather be more s*upid. 🥴 <<less

Uhm...: I am so confused with the chapters 😡 It didn’t match the raws at all! Why is this numbering so confusing! 😑 why change it ba when you can just follow the accurate chapter number or at least use.1+ The kidnapping was around 24-25 but here it is somewhere 40+ what the heck I read the 43 in the raws and not only did I get confused but also got spoil myself.

Other than that I find this okay. I don’t like naive MC I mean he is 21 but... more>> jesus while reading this I legit almost believed his mind went back to 7 years old too. No rating since I don't know if I can properly rate this without being biased.

I hate green tea MCs, especially the type that's OOC and/or hypocritical, which MC currently is. I don't think the character is meant to be that way, just that author has written him poorly, but I really can't help but be reminded of the shitty OMCs in quick transmigration novels.

Regretfully dropping. Plot could've been good.

I just finished reading Rebirth of the Wolfish Silkpants Bottom, and this is honestly a masterpiece compared to that garbage, so I'm picking this back up and giving it another shot. <<less

If you like it then you like it. If you hate it then you will completely hate it. For me I like the story its not the best but pretty fun to read to kill time.

However MC is unreasonably dumb. He's is like a delicate white lotus. Pitifully waiting for his big bro to pampering him until he die. But I'm okay with it anyways. He have the right to be coward and act stup*d sometimes. That's acceptable. BUT another thing that bother me is some characters their action and... more>> thinking process aren't fit their age AT ALL. Tbh it doesn't make any sense. Mentally, MC should be more mature and his thought should be like someone who have a bit of life experience. While WeiMai (?) is completely opposite. He's just 6 yo and know how to scheme against others as far as it mentioned in the story from MC past life he even know how to exploit others from their misfortune at such young age... and even better than MC Im like w*f.

if someone was triggered about pe*ophile or child grooming then you can rest assured that although ML is overly obsessed with MC he still have moral integrity and sense of shame to not s*xual harassing his little bro when he's underage. And to be precise ML is also underage but he will be overage before MC (ofc) <<less

Wei Jing is the child of his mother and her college sweetheart, not Wei He. They were about to elope together but met an accident halfway. That's the reason why Wei He is so hostile towards him, though I don't understand why he still took the MC in when he knew that MC isn't his son.

This novel is an okay read, though the family conflict gets draggy towards the end. I just skipped that part because the author was long-winded and I don't care much about the family except for the main pairing.

Their relationship is nice, the misunderstanding was solved early but they're not the type that gets too lovey dovey. It's just right, like a well-made cake. Not too sweet or too moist.

I was worried about underage tofu-eating 😣 but it didn't happen because the ML is decent, phew. If I have something to say about the MC's personality, it's not that he's naive, but he's the type that gives too much benefit of the doubt. He's an immature person dealing with children and adults who are craftier than him, so he might seem like a naive person, though you'll see moments of strong conviction and resolute determination once he decided on something.

About the MC being a crybaby, yes he is 😂😂😂

I think it's the result of his mental age being unable to catch up with the age of his child body. He'll mature slowly, as the time skips are quite frequent. <<less

The title is spot on. The MC is a terrified little bun which makes him a bit frustrating to read. That's because cowardly characters like to run away, avoid confrontation or are super passive and I am too impatient for this kind of behavior in a novel character if the behavior goes on for too long. On top of that, the MC didn't seem to have grown up from his experiences during his last life. Instead, he seems to have regressed. Boy had the mental age of a child even... more>> when he was supposed to be a grown-up mentally. So saying that the ML groomed the MC is actually very fitting. And that in itself is kinda problematic in my eyes.

The plot itself is nothing I have never read before. In fact, I constantly felt a sense of deja vu despite not having marked this novel as already read before. So the novel can't be said to be too original.

I took a longer break from the novel at around chapter 95 because I have commitment issues and the attention span of a squirrel with dementia. I only started reading this to the "end" because I wanted to reduce the open tabs on my tablet. Couldn't be bothered to read the extras, though. Take that however you want... <<less

I wholeheartedly love rebirth stories, especially the ones where a reborn little brother is loved and taken care of by his big brother. And this story hit all the spots. It's also a very warm, sweet and romantic love story. Both the MC and the ML are very loveable. Wei Jing is very cute. Yes, he is weak and a crybaby and likes to be dependent on his big brother - but there are also many situations where he has to be strong and brave, so his clinging and dependency... more>> is more like... something both parties enjoy immensely, a part of their relationship. He likes his cute dependent little brother but he also works on trying to make him stronger, to have friends and support in life, both moral and financial.

There are many characters in the story, some of them a bit boring, but all together they add to the picture of personality growth. There is also zero revenge/face-slapping in the story but it was perfectly okay. Both characters focus on positive things, on living their life in full. And the bad guys - ah, their "father", the scummiest scum possibly imagined - still get their due. <<less
