First of all the plot was almost completely identical to a novel called "the world of otome games is tough for mobs" for clarifications the first few volumes of that novel was almost the same with this one first of all the supposed heroine in the villager a novel si downright s*upid and crazy if you will because she thinks this is a game she immediately thinks it's alright for someone to be r*ped like wtf when the villainess (MC's lover) the second one was the MC like bro the... more>> MC just killed around 100, 000 people and he hadn't flinched at all?according to his backstory he used to be an aero-space engineer he literally carpet bombed an army that couldn't even touch him because he wanted to find his lover but the culprit was the kingdom his serving, like he has enough power to kill 100, 000 people and not be tired at all he could literally just threaten the king to give his own son and the bit** ass heroine who made the villainess become broken to be honest when it was the chapter where the villainess was about to be **ped my blood just turned cold and my bloodlust rose a few levels that my little sister cried when she saw my face besides how did the king even rose to be a king his completely incompetent he spoiled his son to the point that when his son did atrocious things to the point the even royalty could get lynched there's a lot of plotholes too

I'm sorry author but I'm so mad at what happened to the villainess that I just flipped out on you this is why I rarely read romance novels sigh* I get too emotional more so if it's something like getting rped or getting accused/accusing of cheating which some people will probably think that's what makes romance better since the FMC/MC usually gets saved... well I'm more on the side of wholesome relationships where you don't hide anything to your partner some people might think there's no such thing well... yeah that's why I want to read novels of wholesome relationships since humans now only think about what benefit you'll get from the other person which is understandable that's why I like novels you can put yourself into perspective of things you want for example harem fans want one so they put themselves into the MC's perspective aswell I mean I don't like harem but I don't hate it either as long as it's a good one <<less

It's a fairly typical entry for a villainess novel with a male lead with a penchant for the villainess using his game knowledge to become OP and save/claim her. It's rather generic for the genre but it delivers on what fans of the genre want from it.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. I haven't really read anything in this genre before so I have nothing to compare it to, but I want to emphasize that I had a lot of fun along the way while reading. Whatever flaws it may have, it was a fun journey.

The good stuff:

I liked the MC. He's clever without being overly obnoxious, he more or less only makes rational, logical decisions and the mistakes he does make feel natural, like something anybody might do in his position. I liked that it... more>> is established early on that he has a set of noble motivations and goals, it made me sympathize and root for him in his struggle. He wants to spare the lives of his family, friends and other innocent civilians who are otherwise doomed to die in a needless war. He wants to rescue an innocent person from a gruesome fate she doesn't deserve. And lastly, he wants to save his own life, which seems fair. Moreover, being a person originally from a modern free democracy, the classist feudal society he finds himself in understandably grinds his gears, and while he doesn't plan on creating a new world order, I can at least relate to his struggles.

The female lead is a bit less developed than the MC, but she is also pleasant and cute. She sees her nobility more as a job and a duty than a privilege, setting her apart from most of her peers, and this makes her immediately likeable. She has a bit of a kuudere vibe and there are some enjoyably fluffy scenes sprinkled here and there throughout the last two thirds of the novel.

The first arc, before the MC enters high school, initially felt overly technical and dull, but it serves to firmly establish the MC's place in the world and motivates why he's able to do the things he does later in the novel, and later events which are more directly impactful to the main plot frequently makes references to events during this first arc, so in hindsight I'd say that it was worth it, though I can see how it might scare away some readers who don't have the patience to push through it. Which leads to the next point.

Chapters 39-42 and the direct aftermath of the events therein are the absolute high point of the novel. I found this part immensely entertaining, and the slow buildup which starts at the very beginning of the novel was essential for this effect. I had so much fun with this I re-read it once or twice. It was one of those "greatest anime moments" type deals for me.

The bad stuff:

The romance is there, but it plays too small a part for my taste. I don't mind particularly that there was a mix of genres, but at least in my personal opinion, the novel would've been better with a higher percentage of romance and fluff. This might just be my own personal bias, though.

The MC is quite frankly a bit too bloodthirsty. While his goals are noble, and the killings are somewhat justified given the circumstances in most cases, he just seems a bit too casual about committing mu*der. Most of the people he kills are soldiers in wartime, but at one point he does carpet bomb districts with civilians living in them and his justification for doing this just seems a bit too thin for my liking. The sheer volume of the mu*der he commits is just staggering as well. By the end of the novel he has single-handedly killed well over 100, 000 people, and it's just kind of hard to think of him as a good guy after that. I don't think the author intends for us to view the MC as a bad or evil person or even as an antihero, seeing how bright and cheery his life generally is in other respects, so it feels like there's a bit of a dissonance between how he comes across and how he's meant to be perceived.

The very final chapter, which is technically an extra story released later, put a huge damper on my excitement about finishing this novel. It depicts the final fate of the main antagonist, and it is quite frankly disgusting as well as despicable. The antagonist is certainly evil and excessively self-absorbed, and has hurt a lot of innocent people, but her end is dragged out for a timespan that appears to count at least several months, during which she has to endure horrifying physical and mental suffering, and when she finally does succumb, it is depicted in the saddest and most pitiful way possible, leaving me with nothing but a feeling of emptiness and sadness. It CERTAINLY does not help in the least that it is the protagonist couple who has knowingly condemned her to this fate over simply executing her, which I would have easily accepted given her crimes. Neither of them have come even close to experiencing what she is forced to go through before dying alone, weak and in pain, but they viciously deliver this fate onto her as their final vengeance before riding off into their own happy ever after. Seriously, author-san, the good guys are supposed to be BETTER than the bad guys.

It's just kind of strange, because this happens at the very end and it just doesn't feel very in line with how the characters have been acting previously, particularly the female lead. But yeah, I read this right before writing this review and I still have a sour taste in my mouth. I saw another reviewer suggest that you skip this chapter and I can only agree, though I guess not many people will see or heed this warning.

Conclusion: As I said at the beginning, I had a ton of fun reading this. It wasn't as fun finishing it for the above mentioned reason, but I don't regret it. I'm certainly interested in exploring other works in similar genres after this. Perhaps they can fix the most glaring issues with this one. <<less

a very very sweeet story & will make you cry happyness at chapter 83 to final 99.

this novel deserve hi rating, don't compare to The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs you will miss out great story specially the twist who is the villain and how big the chaos it can be, the world turn into very very grusome dark event.

this is diffrent, this is not the same, the story have end game and goal, do not read other bad fake reviews that only read 3 or 1 chapter then give negative rating right away with fake status. <<less

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was very interesting combined with my love of modern technologies being used in a medieval fantasy setting along with the setting of a otome game. Give it a read for yourself all the negative reviews are basically ppl that came in with more than 2 braincells expecting too much for it. Very enjoyable if you read to pass time and just don't think and follow along. Also loved the translator notes they were very fun to read.

i wonder why this story got so sick and s*upid, MC being so s*upid, he didn't even think about using his powers and foresight to try to change the storyline at all, he was so passive all the time that I thought this was just a guy s*upid, only when the female villain was invited to a duel by the crown prince, he suddenly became very active, but after defeating the prince he became s*upid to think of sacrificing him mother, even though him original goal was to do all... more>> these things to save him mother, he himself never even think of a coup or against the kingdom if his mother has to be victimized, I'm so sick of this s*upid MC, the author may have a ret*rded iq which makes it very unreasonable when making the logic of MC way of thinking <<less

First of all, the pacing is fast. We got side stories which are other characters' persectives.

The manga is the reason I jumped onto the novel, I liked the fast pace things were moving.

Novel starts off with fast paced grind. This will take up like 1/4. Then we got school and the typical villainess stuff. Like 1/3, the side stories start coming. Then the story steers off to conclude the various elements. Its great.

Otome Mob done quick and without a harem. Its cute. Got some uncute parts (charaters) but its a... more>> nice read. Nothing groundbreaking.

If you need something to read to take your mind off some other reading, this the read I would tell you to read. <<less

It is NEARLY everything I wished from "Otome game is tough for mobs." The proactive MC, the oozing with BEST GIRL energy heroine, a present family, some ACTUAL development between the MC and heroine, good use of modern knowledge but not overkill, a decent plot, etc. Etc.

The ONLY thing this Web Novel, and you should note the difference between Web novel and Light Novel, lacks is pacing.

It's fast. TURBO fast. So much so that, other than the MC, the heroine, and the "heroine" is completely underdeveloped as characters.

And you... more>> know what? That's fine! The story hits all the right notes when it comes to plot development. The time you'll be enjoying might be on the short side, but it's time you WILL be enjoying and that's what's most important.

And I mean, come on, what are you looking for in a WEB novel? Shakespeare?? <<less

MC As a person with modern knowledge AND an engineer PDH specialized in airplanes title, he made his goal to make over 15 million in currency... His plan? Clean sh*t for 4 years. No kidding. MC cleaned the latrines and sewers for 4 f years to reach that amount. Among other pety tasks.

Well... ignoring the ridiculousness of this course of action. this is a light read. For moments when you are bored and have nothing else to do. MC gets isekai to an otome game and thanksfully for him, his... more>> sister forced him to 100% the game, so he knows where are all the items. Good so far but author could have made poor situation of MC better...

He is in medieval era, with all the knowledge he has, he can introduce lots of items from modern era, sell those or the ideas to the merchant guild... but what did MC so? Clean shit, do menial tasks that nobody wants to do for.... 4 years? And live in poverty for almost half a decade To reach his target money of 15 million to buy a skill scroll... just with modern knowledge he have made a lot more than that. Like selling soap. You just need ashes, wood and animal fat. <<less

If you've read "Mobuseka", then you won't be able to help yourself but compare it to that. This novel is about a step below Mobuseka and it is fairly short. The premise is almost exactly the same. The only difference is that the MC here doesn't just gets the ultra massive cheat Luxion that prevents most threats. The MC gets his items one at a time. There is no harem, while the romance actually ends up into something and isn't just stretched out for more content. The "modern" day weapons... more>> and equipment can be questionable at times, but you can just pass it off as just mumbo jumbo magic bullshit. This is 100% a better alternative to some 18 yr old magically having the complete knowledge of humanities technological advances and how to make everything from scratch.

I've heard that some are scared that an NTR setting happens, spoiler alert, it's false.

Spoiler

FMC gets kidnapped and her soul is sealed inside her, but she wasn't ugly bastard cause the MC barely saves her on time. It's possibly the only major risk or threat to the MC that the readers can feel since he's obviously an isekai MC. So don't be so scared.

Ok so the setting is very cookie-cutter for an romance game isekai. The setting seems to almost be exactly like the setting for "hard for a mob" series. However, instead of the MC getting a single op item and using what he has to get stuff done. This MC gets op item after op item.

So far it reads like those early isekai that were based on game mechanics, where the MC just grinds to get skills. Yeah it's basically like that. While there's no real issue with that, it is... more>> very lazy writing. It doesn't help that the MC just tends to do things and it just works.

Futhermore, I can accept some silly stuff for the sake of the story, but it seems the background of the MC just gets expanded as it goes along.

Rant:
Spoiler
  1. So first he was a engineer. Which is like, ok, so you're supposed to be college age or older? So why are you letting your sister bully you into playing a phone game when you're both full blown adults?

    2. Then randomly the MC has a gun? Wtf? Like at least with the glider it was built up over the course of a few chapters. Though it was iffy in the first place. I'm not saying he can't have a gun, but he didn't work for it, he just suddenly has one. Like, it makes sense to use a gun over a sword, but it just comes out of nowhere. Also if the principle behind the gun is nothing like the gun you named it after, why even do that? Is it simply to make it easier for someone to draw it? That's really lazy.

    3. Not to mention you specifically said you need to train your swordsmanship for school. Why and how do you suddenly know how to make and use a gun? Simply being a "gun Otaku" doesn't work because you literally dropped that out of nowhere. It's extremely forced.

    [collapse]

Anyway this series is not to be taken seriously, it doesn't take itself seriously, so you shouldn't either. It's a time waster, don't go in expecting much more. <<less

The first few chapters were okay, with minor plot armors here and there, like being an engineer in his past life.

but the school ark comes in and here's when things go bad;

Spoiler
    • first of all, the story is highly identical to mobuseka; with the duel and the villainess being ganged up on. If you haven't read mobuseka yet, try, you'll see close resemblances that I haven't even mentioned.
    • second, there are too many useless POVs, the story would still be fine without them.
    • and lastly (this is more like a TL issue), Some actions here don't make sense; like kneeling and thanking their liege? Come one, you've got to do better than that.

The novel's title is missing some words. It should be "Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What Even if He Had to Sacrifice His Mother!"

This dullard of an MC shouldn't be allowed to live! If I am there, I will chuck some salt into his eyes.

Any sane person would be prioritizing to evacuate his mother in the Elves Village before beating the crown prince black and blue which might land him in execution block alongside with his mother. Especially considering the crown prince braincell is even less... more>> than this dullard MC.

And people with normal braincell plus MC power would assassinating the crown prince and proceed to the two faced whore.

It will save the kingdom from destruction. But then the novel will end in chapter 10. Oh well... <<less

Not good. This thing is a rip-off doesn't even need to be said.

Still, how come you copy someone's story and not end up making a better one?

Short review with minor spoiler,

MC was a rocket engineer that creates airplanes and guns. Good idea, but the author hardly put this as a pivot point. Seriously, after reading the story, there's nothing special or interesting about MC capable of such things.

This one's bland compared to Otome Game Mob.

Yo wth the annulled engagement/1 vs 5 idiots is literally like cheap copy of "The world of otome games is tough for mobs" 1vs5 idiot princes arc, The almost identical dialogues, MC sh*t on the idiot princes and all. The prologue is also 90% same as Otome Mobs too with sister sh*t and played otome to death. But before the high school arc the plot is kinda rushing a LOT. MC got that EX-rank luck, everything goes his way. The MC is good he is hard working and all as... more>> expected from a cheap copy but after the 1v5 idiots I can't see anything else other than cheap copy of Leon. After chapter 13 this got picked up by other translation team and it is bad tho I'm grateful. So maybe I should give 2-3 stars I will settle with 2 I think bcus it is literally a cheap copy (1vs5 arc) it is like author copy and paste it tho anything besides it probably original.. Probably.. Maybe they copy and paste it also.. But well it is a great time killer. I kinda enjoy this too even for a little bit. This novel will be good for someone who doesn't read Otome Mobs

Edit: I noticed that many 5* reviews said that all the otome games story is always similar in another ways but this.. This is literally copy paste I mean the 1vs5 arc maybe before that arc it is original idea but after 1vs5 I don't know if anything else are original plots or a book of copy pasta of another author works. And there is a review that said this guy is more chad than Leon.. What? I don't see Allen propose to the prince's mother aka Queen? But well they have the same element of afraid to show their feelings bcus of one is a nobility and one is commoner. And Allen did proposed to Anna even tho they kinda rushing it in Elves event arc. This novel did have other situations similarities with Otome Mobs even tho it changed or reverse like Allen will be recruits in a war or something after proposed but still I can't deny the similarities.

Sorry for the harsh review it is just that "The World of Otome Games" is one of my fav so I kinda take this sh*t seriously <<less

This is the most generic novel I have ever read in my entire life. There is nothing remotely unique or interesting about this novel. The pacing is really, really bad. I don't understand why the author even wrote chapters 5-20 they are just so useless. Half the chapters are just talking about his f*cking plane which no one cares about. The characters are boring. The backstories are half-assed. It takes WAY too long to get to the main story line. Don't read.

the beginning is decent. Its pretty generic, but is decent. Unfortunately, it falls prey to the same old, the au th or has no idea how feudal politics works. The characters end up becoming unbelievable and not realistic, and soo many cliches.

75% into the story, it just goes to shit. I don't know why I finished reading it, but man, is it not good. this aint worth the read the also why add mechs its as if this guy though his a new messiah to write a new mech fantasy with magic like was this guy living under a rock? All mech isekai are garbage. This also if the MC realy wants his mother and the villainess to live just use is secret skill and kill the pinky. The MC is overpowered right?. I dont know why it was written like this but why why did the guy wait for 7 years his already... more>> over powered when he got the alchemy thing. When the Pinky introduce herself to the MC she said they where in the same school why not kill her off back then and not postpone drama. Idk why killing came across his mind for waiting for 7 years he even said he will save blondy and prevent the war woth all cost dude just kill the pinky. O yhea idk why the MC is for some reason cheering for that route the pinky will take. When you read the its as if the author has amnesia and skip details to whats to how things happen o and you dont know whos talking who since characters tend to speak 2 paragraphs before the next person speaks and youll be more confused when multiple ppl are talking. Not to mention its dry yhea you get those stingy drama but nothing actually happens. Its like one of those netflix movies where characters easily kills ppl but dont kill the guy that actually needs to be killed. Idk whats with all this tension but why was there tension in the first place the guy will not even reward you with a good chapter to read for the wait like cmoon. Btw idk why its written as when doing the school thingy test questions but the MC will way every japanese why does he say japanese exactly almost all modern ppl can do math.

now the real review the guy spents 20 chapters and the heroin is yet to be seen the. The pacing is dumb (The f*cking guy thought his the next messiah to make the next one pice and got stoned to death) anyways the character development is utterly non-existent putting a twist like its an otome game is uter garbage have you read those korean crap they go nowhere without any direction to the plot saying that they have a goal at the end and the guy who made it dont know how to move forward ro get to that point to the characters goal thats whats exactly happenin here <<less
