As tragedy befalls Xin Siyue, she soon finds herself transmigrated into a novel world as a character. To her disappointment, she became the villainess who obsessively chased after the male protagonist while scheming to tear apart his relationship with his beloved.

To avoid her death route, Xin Siyue carefully avoided the male and female protagonists at every turn. Instead, she went off on her own to enjoy life. But somewhere along the way, she made a mistake– the male protagonist took notice of her!

Xin Siyue’s eyes teared up as she was being kissed in Chen Sinan’s arms. ‘No! This wasn’t in the plot!’

The story was off to a great start in the beginning, it was quite cute how the MC reacted to the new environment and her ambitions. (Avoid the ML)

But as the story progressed you got more and more irritated with the ML.

Spoiler

He's basically stalking her, even kidnaps and threatens her countless of times. It's almost disgusting to the point of puking.

And the author doesn't seem to have a problem with this. Not even the fans sometimes, cause all they can think about it is "awww so cute! Their relationship is progressing!"

[collapse]

Anyways, the translation is great and the story is mid in terms of plot. An okay way to pass time. <<less

Man, usually I could stand those overbearing male lead.

But this lead is too creepy. In one chapter he legit force the female lead into his car. Instead of heading to the girl's house, he bring her to his house.

This is one of the scenario that simply sounds criminal in real life. No idea if someone reader in China think this is sweet and cute, because I dropped the story right after that.

?I honestly don't know why they qualify with "1". Well, this story is different from the typical ones of transmigration, perhaps because of the slowness or because you really don't read it completely, but I think that for this story you should read the whole story so that you can understand especially because of the plots.

They should also consider that this is not the real world if not one that is inside a novel and the villain is the one who least expects in this novel.

Do not let yourself be... more>> guided by the bad rating or the bad comments because these people have only read what is translated and have not read all the novel thing that I recommend you do before rating this novel. Because you will realize that it has low grades only from people who have not read it completely. In addition to the translator is known for choosing excellent stories with different plots.

As I said here, you may understand at first why they act like this, but if you can't wait, I recommend you read the raws and answer your questions. ? Good read. ❤? <<less

I'm currently reading it at Patreon. I am now at chapter 18 Neighbors.

I like the story a lot since the this female lead after transmigrating isn't going crazy about chasing the male lead. Isn't it how its supposed to be, you already read what happened in the story, so the best thing to do is to avoid your demise. She tried hard to be unnoticed, so far at this chapter, they don't talk to each other

she pretended to have amnesia since she doesn't have the memories of the original character.... more>> She tried her best to be low key, though some people around her wasn't buying her "amnesia act" and is taking it as retreat in order to advance scheme. They are still in campus so bumping into each other is inevitable, but they haven't been into a solo scene yet, maybe the next chapter since its about them being neighbors at their apartment. <<less

Eh, it’s not bad but it wasn’t great either.

3.5/5 stars just because I really enjoyed the first beginning part of the story; her avoiding and rejecting everything related to the ML. It’s my first time being so satisfied at how good she maintained that kind of mindset. I also really enjoyed the overbearing-going-crazy-with-regrets ML as well, author wrote those parts pretty well to the point where I felt his pain of him being rejected by her. I was satisfied at how much he had to suffer but in a good... more>> way.

People are complaining how much of a scum he is and how creepy/stalkerish/etc he was but to be honest I actually really liked how he was portrayed. Yeah, I mean you know this is one of those stories where the male lead starts falling in love after FL changes but usually those kind of guys become the 2nd ML or the scumbags of the story, but this is one of those rare cases where I’m kind of glad they kept him as the ML. I thought that was a refreshing point. I really liked his overbearing and possessive shameless side while trying to chase after FL but was in denial, I thought it was cute. (yeah call me crazy).

I think what really killed my interest was when they did a complete 180 change when they started “dating”. It came out of nowhere! I was expecting ML to kind of still keep his indifferent and aloof character to a certain extent?? But instead his character becomes completely different within like 1-2 chapters and suddenly starts acting like a total puppy in love and does all these overly sweet and cringey things. I can kind of say the same thing for the FL too, but hers wasn’t as bad she still kind of kept some of her original traits here and there later in the story, but I guess she also had a complete character change after a certain incident which made her realize how much she had feelings for ML. But to be honest it was as if I was reading a completely different character/story... I had to check a few times if I was reading the same story. I wished they had slowly eased that kind of character change into the story instead rather than throwing it all in there in one go.

They did the make out scenes quite well compared to other stories, that was another plus. Usually cnovels kind of just briefly go over these kind of scenes vaguely within 2-3 sentences about FL having misty eyes, being in pain, then switching over to the next day, done. Author actually put in some effort into describing some of the details! Shocker I know!

Addition to that sadly, halfway through the story when they start hooking up it becomes REALLY BORING and FRUSTRATING. Just a bunch of sweet dog food.. and yadda yadda. You got this person in the dark trying to harm her and her family but here she is not bothering to get protection or bring bodyguards. ML is offering to stay with her cause he’s worried but she keeps rejecting him (like why? Are you dumb?) And really it’s just s*upid decisions after s*upid decisions. Eventually I just skimmed through everything till the end.

Would I recommend it? Eh not really, it was okay but not something I would make someone read it. Read it if you have nothing else to read. <<less

I know this trope of transmigration has been reused so many times, so let's not talk about how it's unoriginal because we know that when we read this kind of story then we actually want to read it (like eating junk food).

I think the female lead is ok. BUT the ML is very forceful, their first few kisses was forced (the FL reaction is anger, although if it was me I'll slap him). So I give him a chance, he did gave space for FL for about 2 years but... more>> the writing in this time period was rushed so I felt like he didn't give any space for her.

After that it's basically FL rejecting ML over and over again until he said she was prejudiced towards him and she began feeling moved.

The ML is still forceful as usual and I'm uncomfortable reading it. The writer wrote that the ML was being shameless in chasing the FL but I've read a many this kind of novel where the MLs are shameless, but not this one.

Do you think people will think he's shameless when all of his actions are forceful just because you describe him as so?

Sigh. It's so uncomfortable I dropped this in the middle. Read at your own risk, if forceful relationship is your cup of tea <<less

yoo I dont know why the reviews are so bad but honestly I LOVE it. It is not super dramatic like other novel... it is kinda light yet has sufficient emotions pull. Most of the time it is comical and sweet/fluffy but there are time where my heart break too like when the leads are separated (eg. FL went back to her world). Honestly worth reading as it is kinda short so you can brief through pretty fast.

Honestly the translation is very easy to read and well done, but the story is just...

Sooo I read the discription, some of the reviews and I don't expect much dept in this kind of novels.

Yes the ML is a super obsessed stalker and the second ML is way cuter, but she will obviously end up with the ML. I ecpected that more or less when I began.

What bothers me most is the flow of the story. Sometimes when I click on the next chapter and start to read I feel... more>> like I accidentaly skipped a chapter, because the author just randomly skippes some time and didn't progress it nicely in the story. The ML becomes super intressted in our new FL when she just crossed over almost imediatly becoming obsessed without her doing anything exept avoiding him a bit.

Spoiler

What bothers me most is that after ML stalks het for years, follows het to another city, breaks into her house and forced kisses on her. She decides to believe that this world is different from the novel and starts to open up because besides what she knows from the novel "he is actualy very sweet and caring". Within a few chapters they are all lovey dovey after the ML saves her

[collapse]

This bothers me after 100+ chapters of avoidance you can't just patch the whole thing up with a few chapters.

Before I was also a bit done with the novel but I was already so far so I didn't want to drop it but now my brain officialy can't take it anymore <<less

I left this reviews to remind myself why I drop it ಥ_ಥ

MC is an adult woman who actually work as a teacher for 2years after graduated but then she just KO and sent to the novel's world, she know the plot so she thought she could avoid the disaster

I felt so irritated why m/f novel I read recently have this kind of MC who thought one thing but aren't capable enough to do it, like she's not a teenager so why can't she do it ?

If I were her I'd... more>> withdraw from study for a year to let's all rumors die down or change uni or even goes aboard She's the BAIFUMEI in this situation ffs. So many escape routes but look at her placing herself in disadvantages situation. Her family didn't take her amnesia seriously too.

ML is although hypocrisy but he said he didn't want to have anything to do with MC from day1 but his friend and everyone around him keep talking about MC to him24/7 and the orginal XuSiYue are pestering him nonestop before so please let's him have his peace.

I swear everyone would have some reaction when a person who pestering you non-stop then one day act as if you're scorpion. Angry

And MC NAIVE isn't helping the situation.

I love the preview but I can't continue with the leads behaviour. <<less

It's funny how much everyone hates the ML. I'm not sure why... but somehow I hate him too!

I've read plenty of similar MLs, the overbearing, yandere CEO types. Objectively this guy isn't even the worst I've read. But something about him just really rubs the wrong way.

In a way, I think it might actually be because the FL is decent. I think a lot of times in these types of stories the FL will be kind of dumb, and/or make enough poor decisions that somehow ending up with the ML... more>> makes sense. But this FL is very sensible. She immediately extracts herself from the ML as soon as she transmigrates and makes it very clear that she is not interested in pursuing him anymore.

Because of this, the MLs continued, forceful pursuit of her (which largely just seems to be just because she is now avoiding him) comes across as particularly uncomfortable. Like, in every scene I honestly wish she could just get away from him.

I tried to keep reading because the writing isn't bad, but as the FL became less and less successful at getting away from the ML I became less and less interested in continuing to read. This story would be 100% better if the ML was actually a canon-fodder character instead. <<less

The characters feel fleshed out and real in their own world. They have emotions and reasons for behaving the way they do, and that's always enjoyable. I am 100% on the FL's side as I'm reading, I want her to succeed and be happy.

At one point the ML points out that the FL is prejudiced against him and never gives him a chance. That's true. The reader is also prejudiced - we have the same knowledge the FL has. It makes the ML into someone you want to stay far,... more>> far away. The book implies that this isn't fair treatment, but I'm not sure I agree with that. If you know that someone did terrible things (before the reset), is it not fair to not want to get tangled up with them? He's still the same person, he would still do those things if the FL didn't change. The story uses that excuse to change the flow of the story, am I'm not 100% sold on it.

Even with that... the ML still does some unpleasant things. I can't really cheer for a stalkery, noncon type of behaviour, so it makes me wish for another ML. Any other ML at all. I'm about a third of the way through the story, I'm not sure if I will finish. I think the author is very skilled and has written an engaging story, but I'm not sure I want to sign up for how this book will turn out. I don't know how it will go, obviously, but it feels like I would be voluntarily signing up for stockholm syndrome for the ML to continue on. <<less

Okay hear me out. I HATED the ML when I first started to read it because he was you typical overbearing CEO. But, just listen, if you continue to read and see how things turn out it's a good story with some drama in it. Its cute and fluffy, plus there's even a little bit of smut. I do recommend it but not the beginning of the book where everthing is a shitshow.

I muddled my way through this novel. I was kinda hooked when I know that MC continously tried to reject ML. Some people said that MC is to heartless and s*upid. While that may be true, but the ML isn't really kind at the start too. I also think that he was only interested at MC because finally she didn't pursue him anymore. When MC finally realized her prejudiced, she got a bit better.

Yeah so obviously this is not that great of a story, but yeah go on if you... more>> really have a lot of free time. <<less

So I would rate this book a 4 but accidentally rated 5. This book was an interesting reading. I started this book because I read the synopsis and thought it was interesting. I was a bit skeptical to read this book because of the mediocre ratings and reviews but I'm glad I went on and continued reading it. I think it's a pretty cute book, with a kind of overbearing ML but everything gets better when the FL returns his feelings. I'm actually really glad that she doesn't like him... more>> overnight and is very cautious of him through most of the story. I always like a smart fl.

Yes, he can be a bit overbearing, and it does get slightly annoying but he never went overboard. At most he just kept pestering her with his appearance, which in my book is much better than most yandere ML who can do way worst. Is he narcissistic? Definitely. But I do think he can be really sweet sometimes, and once they are a couple, it gets pretty fluffy. Which is nice to read. I do think they make a pretty cute couple. <<less

MTL completed.

It took awhile well years for the CP to get together. Their ambiguous relationship were tiring imo.

But fulfilling when they finally owned it. Nevertheless the magical world of novel transmigration were suicidal.

FL took a gamble on her life to get back there. Not knowing whether she'll really pass through. But I guess it's a closure for her irl knowing what happen to her mom.

Feelings while reading this novel: frustration

I love this novel. One of the best transmigrated novels (Modern genre). It explained almost every questions regarding the transmigration of the MC and the two worlds. It gave background story and reason why she was transmigrated. The plot twists are well-executed. The development of the story and the characters are really good. I like the trust, love and loyalty of the leads until the end.

*** THE MC (Xin Siyue)

Spoiler

I love that she didn't easily fell for the ML's charm, bickered with him and made him worked hard for her affection. I admire her determination and willingness to learn. She used being rebirthed as a wealthy daughter in the novel world as opportunity for self-growth, to learn new things, to hone her skills and to fulfill her dreams as host that she can't previously achieve due to her poor family background in her last life. Glad that she eventually used what she learned when she came back in the real world to support her Mother until her last breathe. I also like her emotional and mental strength plus adaptability for travelling on both worlds. She remained loyal to CS despite seeing the same exact copy of him in the real world.

[collapse]

*** THE ML (Chen Sinan)

Spoiler

At first, I didn't really like him. He is initially the definition of jerk and shameless but I like his character development and the way he redeemed himself. I like the fact that he never forced the MC to quit her job in A country despite the distance. They never thought that the distance and her career are problems in their relationship. He also became a great husband and father, he was willing to wait for XS to wake up despite some doctors telling him that she already "died", he even taken good care of their son while taking care of his wife in coma and working for the company without a complain. I also like that he knew about the novel world and there are no secrets between him and his wife.

[collapse]

***SUPPORTING CHARACTERS
Spoiler

Most of them got their extra chapters but will not mentioned them all. I love that almost all the lead's friends and families are supportive. For me, the supporting characters who got huge impact were:
** Sheng Wenyang - original FL who is white flower. I think her arrogance, ego, greed and selfishness are based on the Shishi's (author) vile character herself. Reading their backstory, her relationship with ML in original novel didn't really based on "love" maybe bc Shishi's experience in relationship as author was almost non-existent that the reasoning for their original "love story" was shallow.
** Shi Shi- vengeful transmigrated author who turned to be Xin Siyue's half-sister in real world. She got a sad story and died tragically in both worlds. If only she didn't let hate to eat her and enjoyed her second chance, she will probably become happy in the new world like the MC.
** Chen Jinxung (his name was based on MTL's translation so I don't know if it is accurate) - Shishi's unrequited love from the real world who was the inspiration of Chen Sinan's image. He was a huge help when Xi Siyue's went back from in the real world. He was heartbroken when XS left but I'm glad that he got extra chapters.
** Xin Mother (real world) - I liked that the novel didn't let the mother died alone in the real world. XS and her mother's scenes were heart-touching and made me teared-up. I also like XS's novel mother Bai Ning but Xin Mother's sacrifices despite her poor health and poor financial status are worth of praising.

[collapse]

Thank you for the translators for working on this<3

Spoiler

I initially thought that this will end in chp 178 so I read it (LMAO) I was wrong bc this was only a split translation. I have no choice but to continue reading MTL (which is not accurate translation) but I still loved the story. Chp 178 is originally included in the Chp 66 out of total 118 chapters of MTL

I'm still wavering between 3-star and 4-star, so I leave the rating empty. I feel it's closer to 4-star.

There are countless stories out there of which transmigration happens due to silly reason to no reason at all (say hello to our old friend, Truck-kun). This story, surprisingly, doesn't transmigrate random person into random book. It provides solid background why the supranatural event chooses MC as its victim; why she is transmigrated into a villainess with tragic ending. It even explains why ML's personality is so cliche (overbearing CEO). In my... more>> opinion, the provided explanations are quite acceptable. And for this point alone, this story deserves 4-star.

I also love FL and her (novel) family members, especially the overprotective big brother. The way he adores his sister doesn't feel creepy at all. He's just a normal brother who happens to possess authority.

ML is okay. I don't hate him since he doesn't actually do anything bad to original body owner. He holds prejudice against her since she acts likes crazy stalker. To be fair, when he turns into persistant pursuer, MC also holds prejudice against him.

What makes me waver is the romantic development during the first half of this story. Of only it is writen more eanderingly, I believe we can wholeheartedly root for the ship to sail (storytelling is important, yo!!). Sadly, it's not the case. The second half makes up for this, though. <<less

i can get past the shameless ml. Unlike most others, I find their development as a couple valid. Not everyone is going to fall in love with flowers and glitter effects in the background. The original host of our MC was awful and chased after our ML relentlessly. Of course our ML wanted to get away from her like the plague! She was so rotten! But since our fl's soul has changed, our ML began to notice her more and more until he became infatuated with her. That infatuation turned... more>> into love, and our FL reciprocated, especially after realising that her prejudice was unjustified and that the novel had changed.

the story could have been delivered better, but I like the story for what it is. It's like filler for when your main web novels don't have any new chapters out. My only issue is that the FL feels a little lackluster. I wish she could have bloomed more and made more of her connections to rise on the social ladder, but she's done well regardless. The FL and ml's conversations are a bit boring, and I would have preferred more substance, but maybe that's just down to priority on the author's list of content to write. <<less

<Start of rant>

I like it. I honestly like it. But I'm already sick with s*upidly silent and cool protagonist. I can't do anything about it. Liking someone when someone changed is really annoying from my perspective. I get why he likes her (I mean... she's a different person on the inside). And that girl should have make things clear that she doesn't like ML instead of skirting around the issue (I'm also looking at ML while writing this).

<End of rant>

Plot-wise, its good. If you enjoy this kind of transmigrating story... more>> (with all the cliche), you probably like it.

Characters, like-able (but too cliche for me). Solid, but character development is reactive. MC and ML lacks initiative to search what they want. Probably change in the future, but I can't read this anymore unless I force myself.

Chapter-length, Satisfying. Chapter-number, good enough.

All in all, I probably will return to finish this when I forgot all the cliche-ness. <<less
