Xie Chi is a patient with multiple personality disorder. On the surface, he is educated and gentle but the secondary personality is cold, ruthless, and powerful, with explosive strength.

Xie Chi can never fall in love with others because the secondary personality is his boyfriend.

Xie Chi’s only dream is to one day embrace his lover.

In order to realize his dream, Xie Chi willingly bound with the Horror Movie Actor App. The app regularly releases horror movie notices such as Spirit in Red Clothes, Zombie Lovers, 1552 Haunted House, etc…

Selected actors will be placed in a real horror environment to survive.

On the first day of filming, the first male lead with a dirty personality blocked Xie Chi in the corner. “Follow me and I’ll help you be the second male lead.”

Xie Chi smiled softly and shook his head. “That isn’t enough.”

The first male lead was dumbfounded.

Xie Chi smiled slightly. “Brother, help me beat him up.”

The secondary personality gave a cold smile to the first male lead.

Definitely worth reading and re-reading. The arc are really freaking good and I personally didn't find any plot hole. That mirror arc was really very very good. And heaven and hell arc really compelled me to question my way of thinking on some things. Totally recommended 100/10

It can get a bit tedious at times but if you sit down and read it you will likely finish it in one sitting like me it gets very addictive.

I enjoyed the psychological Sherlock Holmes esc part of it but if you don't like spontaneous answers you will need to be extra careful to think quicker than you read lol. Anytime MC talks to his party pretty much assume you're gonna get spoiled if you like Sherlock Holmes-ing on your own without influence. So if you absolutely wanted too you could treat it like a mu*der mystery and I took full advantage to do so since I like that kind of stuff. <<less

Better than I thought it would be. The premise wasn't very interesting to me but on Rainbow turtle's discord it was recommended prior to reading Card Room. I actually really enjoyed the movies for this app, and the double personality thing wasn't as weird as I thought it would be. The thought process doesn't really make sense and there are holes but it was really good.

Such an interesting novel!

It was an amazing read. And I kept wanting to read it, not only because the setting was interesting, but also because of the 'when will the MCs meet?!' factor.

It was a first for me to read a novel with the personalities getting together (not a spoiler, they're an established couple), so that in itself was a novel concept for me.

Honestly, I think Xie Chi is the most near perfect human MC I had ever read. Someone that is able to see clearly everything and acknowledge it. A flawed human can still be perfect, if he understand clearly the limit of a human. Desire is not a bad thing, but excessive desire beyond your limit is bad. ... more>>

The ending is important. Yeah, Xie Chi is a demigod/god, but it is a title by fellow human actor/ghosts. It doesn't mean he ia a true demigod/god. He understand he is still human. And that in itself is the limit.

A good recommendation to those that are more mature and wanted to contemplate the roads in life that you had taken. I felt this book spoke more metaphorically, spiritually and give advice of people's philosphy of life. The horror is good, but don't expect it will be gory. Horror and gory are two separate things.

It is the descriptive of subtle horror that did it for me, and like the translator, I felt the hospital arc is the creepiest and also the one that I liked the most by the time it ended. Because personally, the theme of self love and complete trust are emotional enough for me, but the fact author put this theme in this particular location setup, "hospital" deserved 5 star.

Living Hell theme is also quite good, but due to the subjective matter of people's "faith and belief", it didn't resonate much except for the message, probably because the author and me had different faith and belief. Thus the do good deeds, avoid bad deeds to get rewarding result is 👍 for me, the other aspects is interesting to read but it didn't mean I agree to it.

Tarot Game is masterpiece. Because in life there are people that live their life derived from divination. I felt the symbolic way of how

Because people that put their life on divination like tarot/horoscope/gambling really entrusted their heart to something else, not themselve. Obsessive faith is deathly, blind trust to a thing that you don't fully understand the rule lead to no return. In the end, something like tarot cards comes from another person, the rules from another person, the divination is also something that we believe another person can... perceived for us? See it? It is the same as life

The horror and supernatural aspect in this book will shine through if you are someone that believed in supernatural things. It didn't need those suspense Westerner loved and exaggerated death like Final Destination. It is enough to put description of dark, humid space and you felt it. It is because you believed it, your breathing rise and your heart accelerated, bringing you into the false sensation your own surrounding temperature drop. Because death in itself is the peak horror of every living being and author knows exactly that. Author didn't bait reader with the "horrific way of death" as they had clearly hinted it before Xie Chi boarded the app. The way Xie Chi react to his designated way of his own death should he fail in his task, should have been the answer. "Eh, just a mediocre way of death. Accident". If you cherished your life, just like Xie Chi; then in every movie, there should be the sense of urgency. This sense of urgency is enough to made you felt suffocated leading to the illusory the author intended to bring with their words. Oh, I am bad with ghost story, especially from the East, that this book must be set down at 6pm everyday. I am too paranoid to close my eyes if it went beyond, got scared by my own hair falling and nervous at my own reflection lol.

To be honest, I really didn't feel Xie Chi as "very OP". I just felt he is very rational and smart. There are time he is helpless. The rewards he got are what made it like he is OP. But of course as he progressed near the end, he "gained the right to be OP". The initial movies are like paced to strengthened him; gained trusted friends, understand the app more, etc. The shift is actually quite smooth

when his past is revealed. I had thought the demigod is Xinglan (see how hard it is a human logic is to be bend? Xie Chi is human, thus it must be demigod that found him - my thought. Even when the app had proved it can grant any bizarre wish). But when the reversal of dad and son happened, I was cackling. Yeah, the universe clearly loved this soul so much to let it eat lost forever.

. Ah, I found the word, Xie Chi didn't give me the impression he is OP, but the APP makes him like that. Did you get my implication? Xie Chi's helplessness is what drived the story, but the APP's biased made him OP. In the final analysis, it is up to every individual how you define envy, is how you will defined Xie Chi in this setup I guess. Because in life, if you see a desperate man that had nothing in life suddenly went to somewhere where and gained the complete favour of someone; will you say he is the luckiest, or will you say it is as it shoud be, he is the most desperate all his life after all?

Xie Chi is the MC but if you asked my favourite character, it should be Yan Jing and Su Qing. Probably due to my enviousness of these two complete selflessness. <<less

Horror novel Is definitely not my cup of tea, and it didn't cross my mind that I will enjoy it, but I did. Let me tel how did I read this one, even though I didn't like horror. Ahhhh, why didn't I read this early??? I was originally a bit uncomfy with the main personality falling in love with the secondary personality, but I'm so glad I put aside that bias because IT WAS JUST BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!

MC is so so so smart (after reading, it's making me want to learn the 4 types of logic and philosophy, even tho I'm sure I won't be able to understand too much haha), while ML is so so so powerful - the action scenes are so nicely described! Like other reviews have... more>> mentioned, the mystery-solving in this novel is ever so mind-blowing (to the point that I would rank this at the top with Earth is Online, Mist, and Kaleidoscope of Death), and have I mentioned how brilliant and how much of a genius the MC is?? His thinking and problem-solving abilities are top-notch (same with the author's for being able to piece everything together completely in each instance). The concept to express a survival game (being an actor and filming a movie with an audience) is pretty unique and refreshing; the audience themselves are so funny (God Chi is the best!!!!) And lastly, the romance between MC and ML is super cute!!!

Shhhh, Ren Ze and Yan Jing are best bois! Also, also I just found out but don't look at the tags too carefully cuz it's gonna give you a spoiler (I've learnt that looking at tags before reading isn't necessarily good as I got spoiled for KOD XD). a fun and thought-provoking read! There's a fair amount of gore and death, so if that squicks you out, maybe look elsewhere. The romance is omnipresent but also not the whole point of the novel -- MC and ML are already in a relationship at the start of the novel, so mainly what you get are cute long-time couple moments rather than spicy developing relationship moments. The horror arcs get more complex as they go along, but are explained well. Sometimes they feel a little contrived? But even when the... more>> plot gets a bit dense, there are comedic moments to lighten the mood.

if you enjoyed this novel, i'd like to recommend Surprise! The Supposed Talent Show Was Actually–?! which has sort of a similar feel to how the challenges the MC faces get more complex as the storyline proceeds. <<less

I read this and thought it was good, but not enough so that I left a review.

Since then I have read many, many infinite flow novels and I am back to leave a review because this truly is special. It has very memorable plots that I still remember months later. The puzzles are extremely well done.

Yes, the weird split personality central conceit is strange. And the ending is also a bit strange, tbh. But the plot arcs are too good for you to miss out on.

At first I thought the background story would be like the novel "To be a Heartthrob in horror movie" because it was based on a horror film. I didn't have high expectations and was prepared to just love the horror plot but not the romance. Turns out I was wrong~ this is very interesting, even the background of the application itself makes sense according to the logic of the novel's story even though the background of the world still has plot holes but it's not that important to think about.... more>> I usually when reading horror novels don't really like romance scenes because I find them disturbing, like "you guys are close to death why are you so indifferent and even dating?!" BUT in this novel apart from the plot of the film, I like their romance the most wuwuwuwu In general, the plot of the film is very interesting, because the actor has to guess the plot of the film so it makes sense, I think this is like solving a horror puzzle. Compared to other horror novels I've read, this one is less scary in its depiction of the atmosphere and ghosts. But totally worth reading because it makes a point. I am In love with this novel

  1. There is amazing plot and there is Plot depth and all the side characters that come in have a purpose and not just a foil for the MC and ML
  2. The different movies are really cool and could basically be a stand alone novel. Really indepth!
Amazing translation and amazing novel... definitely recommend!!!

a lot of reviews have said what I wanted to say (e.g. I love the romance!). Im very glad I waited for the translation to finish instead of trying to plough through the raws (i got halfway through arc 2 back when there were only a few translated chapters released and had to drop because mtl ruined the effect), because a lot of the nuance and mystery solving is so much better translated. That said, there isnt much horror at play here - a lot more is action/supernatural/mystery. Im fine... more>> with that personally since I liked the setting of the horror movie app a lot, and the mysteries/settings were novel and eloquent.

however, I personally thought a lot of the underlying plot points were extremely predictable. Not the in-movie horror plot points, but the structure of the greater picture. I still stayed up until 5am to finish this, so it was definitely enjoyable (mc's high iq + suspense + unique settings of each arc + livestream setting + romance). But the plot outside of the horror movies frustrated me a little because I could just see each plot twist from miles away; the author isnt subtle with the foreshadowing, for all their talent with mystery.

overall score 4.5/5. Very enjoyable read with good pacing, drama, action, romance, etc. Only complaint is the predictability and lack of horror. <<less

This was extremely excellent. A must read and reread. Extremely fun, fast paced plots. The MC is remarkably smart, but it never feels like the win is just handed to him. He has to work hard and sometimes he’ll make mistakes, but he always comes out on the winning side in a way that feels justified. I’m a massive horror fan, unfortunately mostly ghosts were explored with some exceptions here and there. However, each plot felt refreshing and entirely it’s own.

This is sooo good on so many levels - horror arcs with all very unique settings & plot, crazy smart MC with an equally strong ML. I don't think I've enjoy any horror as much as this one, it kept me on my toes and constantly guessing. There were so many twist and turns. TBH, I took me a couple of read per chp sometimes to get the main point. And to think that I was actually going to give this story a miss. super goodddddd. Im really satisfied with this. At first when I learnt more about novel, I wasnt that interested because the MC had 2 personalities and they love each other. So basically the MC and ML are in the same body. I felt like it would be weird and all but hehe it turned out to be really good. Its like though they are in the same body, their love for each other is so much and so touching.

The novel is good. The story is also good. But..., MC and ML really give me a conflicting feeling. ML is MC's secondary personality, as stated in the novel's description. So it's like falling in love with yourself (?). But not really. Urghh, it's really conflicting. I mean, they each have a whole personality but both reside in the same body (?). It's actually sweet that they love each other not because of their physiques but their personalities.

Anyway, don't make it stop you from reading this novel!! That high average... more>> rating is no kidding, you know. Each arc is so interesting. It's not the kind of novel that give MC and/or ML a mission on a silver platter. Although both are OP, they're not the 'clues come from nowhere' or 'it's my instinct' type (I mean, I have read some novels where MC 'just happens' to see clues and 'just happens' to think correctly about how to solve a case). In this novel, MC and ML also have their up and down times. There is one confusing arc, but I don't know if the reason is me (who doesn't understand it) or the arc itself n_n". It's the Living Hell arc.

In the end, despite the conflicting feeling which I stated in the first paragraph, it was thrown into the back of my mind when reading each arc.

Conclusion: this novel is really worth reading and definitely goes to my re-read list. <<less

I'm not a fan of ghosts, zombies, or horror in general. I find it to be boring. Really boring. Still, I decided to read this "horror app" novel since a lot of people really liked it. I thought this would be the beginning of my love for horror but not much changed after reading this.

i went through so much reading this and I have no words. U simply have to read it. Don't hesitate from other reviews and plunge into it. Despite going to different worlds, the ever changing rules and challenger make it so entertaining to read and the conclusions always makes u feel mind blown. Simply, please, give it a read. So good, , very well written. The premise is quite interesting & different. MC & ML is the same person LoL. Both have their own strong point. MC is the genius, quick-thinking one, ML is the quick, powerful one, both cover the shortcoming of the other. MC also made some good friend that is very loyal to him.

Spoiler Alert:

There is a side pairing in which the shou is a genuine white lotus flower (not the green tea bit*h variety) a real unexpected one, since he doesn't seem to be a... more>> good person at first. Even the MC likes him too! The side pairing got their happy ending in the extra. <<less
