I put reading this off for a long time and finally came with low expectations due to sanjiang and many others' scathing reviews but it's actually much better than I expected? I couldn't put it down after I started.

It's hardcore borderline dub-con lmao -- there is r*pe, substance abuse, and gore (no extremely graphic depictions though) but MC knew what he was getting into and was having the time of his life. Despite knowing this, I teared up q a few times in the more intense scenes. BUT the last... more>> arc and extras redeem it all dw.

People who rated this low are mostly all people who didn't read to the end. Highly recommend giving this a go, if you don't mind the angst, and actually finishing it before coming in with your opinion. <<less

This novel is definitely a simple one. I don't dare to recommend it lightly, but objectively speaking, I thought that it was pretty good in its own way. It's just a matter of whether or not you're in the mood for abusive romance XD. If you are, all I can say is that the abusive romance here at least makes a lot of sense. There's a reason for everything that the characters do. Although, in some cases, you don't get to find out why until the very end (so, if... more>> you're feeling impatient, I suggest giving this a pass until you're in a more suitable mood.)

Summary: This is your typical quick transmigration novel, with just some slight adjustments. The MC, Xie He, hops from world to world with the mission of capturing a specific target. This is may be a bit of a spoiler, but let me just say that the ending for each arc is rather miserable. Here, the repetitive aspect is the abusive romance. In order to accomplish his goals sooner, the MC will always choose the most ruthless method of capturing his target -- which usually starts with first abusing himself, and then abusing the scum gong in question.

Thoughts: For those that are softhearted, this novel really won't work out at all... The best thing to do is read it with the mentality of abuse xD. You can't expect any romance or fluffy feelings. If you think of it as scum gong vs scum shou, it's pretty interesting. At least, you get to see the psychological activities of the main characters (the MC always embodies his host completely, so you'll truly get to see the POV of both sides). I found that interesting, and it was what kept me interested in the beginning.

After a while, I began skipping and skimming arcs, but that was after I confirmed that the arcs were almost completely separate from the main storyline. Only the first 4 arcs, arguably, are important to understanding the ending plot. So, if you want to skip starting from there, it's perfectly fine, you won't miss much of anything. Which is the beauty of transmigration novels like this, I suppose XD You can pretty much pick and choose the adventure you want to see. Due to this, I didn't really read the entirety of the book (which is also why I'm not doing a full review, even if I ended up reading the ending arc). Upon which, I was able to finally enjoy some fluffy romance. SO, altogether, a satisfying read for me. As for whether or not it will work out for you, it really depends. I suggest giving it a shot and backing out early if you find that some of the themes are too much (because, honestly, they will only continue getting worse lol).

If the story wasn't so repetitive, I would have rated it a little higher. In the end, I guess that's the disadvantage that contrasts the pros of separating the story arcs so clearly from the main storyline. It really feels a bit worthless to read the entirety of the story. I'm rating the novel based on what I read, which included only the story arcs I thought interesting, so there's definitely some bias here. However, idc, hehe.. When it comes down to it, I think the novel is worth it, even if for the character developments alone. Those were really fun! Not top-class, but the variety was great. <<less

Ok, I really like this honestly

I rate it 4/5 because it was a fun read for me.

I spent like one day to read for each arc. Even if I loathe that this wasted my time instead of doing my assignments, I still read it. Every arc feels long even if it looks short. Ye sure, its fast-paced but its doesnt feel like that at all. It also somehow always manages to make me cry. The writing is good, the plot, details and etc. The author really did amazing in portraying... more>> someone's regret and longing, and the trope of "Its already too late"

Its very repetitive, however, each arc differs from the other. I did skip one arc just because I thought of it as boring, it was the arc where XH is a demonic cultivator or something, and the gong is his disciple.

This novel, unlike other CNs where you cant and will really not sympathize with the scum gong, will find a way for you to pity him. Im still halfway through the novel tho, and I also think that each arc can be a book/novel itself. But tbh, I wouldnt read it since it would all just be too painful and make my blood boil.

Even if I saw it coming, even if I should not take it seriously since its all just an act in the end by the MC, my heart would still ache coz I would imagine it would be the og character. Ive read something like this before, but I didnt cry while reading that novel.

Ive thought of myself as not so soft before, but I may have overestimated myself.

Warning to Potential readers:This has r*pe, possessive, imprisonment, in*est and kind of selfcest, manipulations, mentions of su*cide and su*cide itself, deaths, etc.

The author acknowledged themselves as weird, and I myself also acknowledge myself as one too. I dont even know if I should call myself a sad*st or masochist from reading stuff like these.

(I call the characters the MC is possessing as XH just because thats how the author wrote it, and I also call the MC himself as XH)

Altho I said each arc is good, the repetitiveness is making me numb that at recent arcs, I only cry a little. If before, I will feel pain because of the abuse the shou has suffered and the gong abuse that comes after, now, I only feel sad for the shou. Or maybe because the gongs deserved it really this time.

Somehow, in which point of time, the authors writing the arcs went from pitiful, poor, lovely, white lotus bottom x Cold, arrogant, powerful top ---------to-------Powerful, Cold, Strong, Stubborn bottom × Cold, Arrogant, Cunning, secretly or is also powerful but more stronger than the bottom. Maybe because the levels of the world is slowly becoming more difficult, ba. Lets be honest, not a lot of people can achieve what XH had done, and he only OCC'd in the first arc, albeit idk abt the rest.

At first, when I only read like the 1st chapter of this novel, I was reluctant to do so because I didnt like reading because of the mc's character, the fact that he is a scum himself and the baby system. But now, I really like them. I dont hate this novel much because of their interactions amidst the drama.

I also like how the fact that XH considers himself as a gong, and the first thing he does when he transmigrates is to look at his appearance and will fall inlove each time. He wasnt even satisfied in masturbating to himself in the mirror. Altho his types are the beautiful, cute, and pitiful bottom type, his targets are the gongs heiheihei but he doesnt mind falling inlove to whoever f*cks him the greatest. He is also tolerable and has patience in guiding his bear students. XH is an admirable teacher, ne. He likes the person who is more scum than the other.

I say it is entertaining, because this involves more than 1 love interests. Theres also drama, angst, vinegar hihihi, and etc too.

Anyways, Im reviewing it coz Im going to write my assignments now. Ive spent a week on this, ba.

Right now, the most scum in this novel is either Lance (same name as my brother haha..) or Ye Jinzhou. Reasons?This all refers to the scum gongs in every arcs, Altho they have thouroughly regretted their actions and some even died with the MC, that itself is barely able to make me satisfied of what theyd done.

Lance tortured the MC with pain more painful than death, that it could even make one go crazy. MC had to even buy from the system store of pain blocking 99%. He tortured him for several days. He also captured and ens*aved him, making him live in the country of his enemies, f*cking him countless times just for Lance to see the hero's despair, and letting everyone mock him. He also threatened him and made the MC a traitor of the Federation. The author or XH was really foul into making the character fall inlove with Lance. What forgiveness??dont ask for bullshit.

Next is YJ, hes really a child, ah. What the f*ck does their fathers affairs have to do with them??what revenge??are u really that bored??MC was really innocent. Do u think that a child should pay for their father's sins??how is that reasonable you dumb f*ck. You r so despicable that you even have a real lover behind the mc's back. I cant really hate the lover too because hes so sweet and caring to YJ. How could u mess up so badly?disrigarding 2 people who genuinely cared for u. You ruined XH's company because you think that its rightful that you did so? XH spent 10 years with tears and sweat just for the company and you made him lost it all. In the end, u even tried giving it back that watching u doing so is really laughable. You dont deserve XH's love at all. I also somehow felt that mc's death this time is the same as XH's father. <<less

i literally can't continue this.. MC is so incredibly overpowered. The pov shifting between his real self and his acting is jarring and confusing, it feels like two completely different people, not one person. I'll disregard the NTR and SA since they were in the tags, but even so, the logic is so off. ML is supposed to be cold and standoffish but somehow manages to fall obsessively for MC in like, two chapters. Og ML is supposed to be a picture perfect boyfriend but did not hesitate to nearly... more>> SA MC the moment he finds out abt the NTR. So many details are left out so the character seem incredibly shallow. As a reader I don't feel much connection to MC at all, nor do I feel much sympathy for og ML once he "blackened" like whiplash. ML feels like a cookie cutter manipulative sadistic business heir. MC is just an op know it all. For the sake of plot and drama, everyone makes everything worse by choosing the most roundabout way to say it— it's the frustration of "oh look a conflict in the plot! Instead of addressing it like a normal person would, MC postpones it for 5 days for no apparent reason and then everything goes downhill because of that!" that really gets me. Like the whole NTR thing at the beginning could have been solved with a little less blubbering and a little more communication. But anyway.

sure, MC may be smart and have lots of transmigrating experience, but he somehow accurately predicts the actions of characters he barely knows? And he seems way too good at everything? How is he a fragile weak beauty but also a calculating smug mastermind? His personality changed so quickly from his initial intro to when he transmigrated, AGAIN, it feels like he's a different person and I can't get used to that. I like range but not range to the point where they're actually on two opposing sides of a spectrum!?!?

my personal opinions: I hate NTR and I also hate "artificial" love at first sights— like the whole system shop thing where you can just buy whatever op thing you want as long as you have points, but who really cares to count points in transmigration novels. But I'm not rating the story based on that.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO'S THE MAIN ML..

If you're only reading this for the dog blood, go ahead, but don't expect it to be realistic at all.. Perhaps there's too much dog blood in it for me. Way too many things going right for the sake of MC or drama. <<less

Thd different worlds are very immersive, because most of the time it's from the Characters ppint of vief not host real thoughts. MC real thoughts lighten the mood because damn this author likes to cause pain and suffering! So u get a verry angsty, dogblood drama, I even cryed in some world because the characters were so sad at times, but becaus we know MC is acting u can distance yourselfe from the pain. So it doesn't get tooo heavy.

It's hard for me to give out a specific rating. For now, I'm giving it 3.5.

It started out tragically good. The pain, the misunderstanding and lastly gong abuse. But, I can't tell if my heart is numbed from all the abuse or if the story failed to grasp proper pacing, the angst lose its effect after a while.

If I had to choose, I'm leaning towards the latter because I do think there are a few parts where it could deliver more impact, had it been told from dialogues and the... more>> character's POV, instead of a short narration.

It all came down to "too many worlds and too short of a story in each. Had the author delve into details, it'll make it easier for readers to relate (to the pain) "

As for the MC, he's one of the shou (s) to top my list. He's manipulative, cunning, and incredibly smart to swiftly direct the plot and predict the gong's reactions.

As for the ML, I felt that each gong resembles more and more with the others towards the end. Not sure if the author did it intentionally but it personally bore me. The only differing variable between each gongs is their name and appearance. <<less

Ok, I could have given the novel a five star cause it's quite a good read. But seriously, I really got tired of the constant abuse and r*pe. Especially the r*pe part. Well, it can't really be considered r*pe since MC started enjoying it later but still.

There were many ways this could have gone WITHOUT the r*pe and torture and blatant disregard for your fellow HUMAN BEING.

I knew I'd feel this way before reading it but I still couldn't help being curious. This was just abuse upon abuse, it got... more>> tiring. The parts that annoyed me more was when the animalistic MLs started feeling that regret, at first I liked it, I enjoyed it even. But later it just got old and irritating, ESPECIALLY when they didn't die. Yes, they felt deep regret, couldn't live with themselves, were like living corpses blah blah, they were still BREATHING. It got to a point that I just started skipping to the last 2-3 chapters of each arc, I just couldn't stand the whole depravity. I didn't even bother continuing after the elf arc. Really couldn't stand it.

Funnily, the only characters I really loved were Lin Ran and JiHan?? Think that's his name. Oh well. At least, they added some warmth to it. Sorry, this isn't really a review, more like ranting but that's how I feel. I couldn't even read the so called HE cause I was that annoyed.

It's still nice though, y'all should give it a go. You'll enjoy it for a while. And if you don't mind the, ugh, depravity (I quite like that word) at all you'll enjoy it.

P. S still could have done without the DEPRAVITY

Although I haven't finished reading, I really wanted to leave a comment here.

The story is good, the ending of each arc is very sad! I always cry because it's so heart-wrenching. But the damn facts I really like hurting myself and then reading it marathon🙂.

MC really had fun acting sad and it really worked because ML will always regret and yeah that's why I cried in the end..

However, if you are very sensitive to r*pe content, I really don't recommend reading this. Because, well in every chapter there will be... more>> and maybe many MC scenes that are violated by ML, yes even though it's not really shown but I recommend not reading it for those of you who are very sensitive to things like this.

Yes but I think in terms of story and plot this is quite satisfying, I give full star for this.. <<less

Just finished and I have to say, this is one of my fav QT novels. Keep reading for the eventual happy ending, but enjoy the suffering and angst that comes with every arc.

MC is always deliberately pushing the plot into dog blood drama and has fun along the way. The different arcs and world settings were fun to read about. I'd say, definitely make sure to read the tags to make sure you're prepared for some of the darker themes. Although it is all ~acting~ it does get very dark... more>> and sad at times.

I saw a recommendation to read this on another novel with a slag shou/tr*sh gong.

That novel was bad but highly rated, and this was supposed to be better.

I agree. This is better by miles. This is one of my favourite systems and the punishment for the gong gives satisfaction.

... more>> It is a little concerning sometimes reading that some people think the gongs aren't really that bad. Every gong in this is a nightmare. There is r*pe in every single arc a lot of domestic abuse, torture and other mindbreak situations.

The MC was also a scum gong himself and has a twisted mind. I really liked this aspect, even though at the start I said 'no! I don't want to go with this one' much like 444.

I do find with series this long I usually start losing interest around 100 chapters and go off to find something new. I have ADHD so that probably makes me a bad judge in this, but it got too repetitive for me.

All that said, I'm ultimately a person who likes happy endings. Every arc breaks your heart at the end, so that I read to 129 is probably because the author did too good a job. <<less

If you are into dog blood drama where you like feeling sad from the injustice of good characters being betrayed/abused and people around them regretting it too late... but still want that moral safety net of "it's not real because the MC is just acting", this is perfect for you.

Translation is good but the work in itself is not up there in terms of literary quality but it does a good job of twisting your heartstrings.

As an emotional masochist who feels satisfaction from crying while reading stories, I liked picking... more>> this up and putting it down when I want to get my fix. <<less

What more can u say except that it has been an journey till the end. I have cried so much, gushed at how adorable 444 is, loved the ending and the way the relationship progressed after such turmolous ordeals.

I have to say I enjoyed the gong abuse a bit too much while crying bitterly at the same time but fear not it makes the reading experience better.

All I wanna say is that u should probably read it if u were hesitating.

And the most important a big shoutout to Chrysanthemum Gargen... more>> for giving us such an amazing and chef kiss worthy translation. The word flowed so smoothly, the build up and expression were top tier. I always love their translation so much. They are such high quality stuff.

And thats about it I guess for my review.

A very remarkable story.

The main plot is amazing. The MC's character settings were just right for this type of novel!

It was an amazing dog blood story, and the ending was nostalgic.

At first, I'm enjoying the story but as soon as I fell in love is as soon as I fell out of love. Abuse is scattered everywhere, MC's behaviour doesn't make sense, He is suppose to be a tyrannical president but when the system cames in and he got the chance to have a lot of screen time, It doesn't makes sense. He is a foodie, which is weird. He wants a lot of money, which yes, makes sense. But, How he earns it. No no no, It's like the author putting two persons in one body. I like how he plays the system though. 444's behaviour is consistent. I love 444.

MC is witty, I admire him. But I don't like the fact that after going to a lot of arcs he just kind of accepted his fate as a shou. I want to stay to read it but I can't handle the abuse.

And also the way I write my review can make you misunderstood the whole plot. You can't actually blame my review because the title can cause misunderstanding too. And not to mention the description is a whole universe different from the MC describe and how the real MC acted in the novel. I once loved the novel. But I like the interstellar arc though. It got a happy ending.

f*ck. Ya gotta have steal guts and hearts like the MC to read every chapter of this novel.

In oder to see through the whole novel too, ya have to read it until the end. Like til the extras to understand shit.

It's Happy Ending yes. Satisfying? Maybe if they showed us more of MC loving/spoiling the ML in the extras lol.

Tbh I love these types of novels with a system and where the ML and MC travel to different worlds but this wasnt the most enjoyable novel. A lot of the reviews talked about how their is r*pe so I already prepared myself for it in order to be able to enjoy the plot without letting the r*pe part get to me. But the arcs are very repetitive. Of course each arc handles a different time setting with the MC and ML having many different roles but the general plot... more>> goes something like, "MC has to capture ML. ML is a scum to the MC and misunderstands the MC and tortures him physically/mentally. You can tell that the MC actually enjoys it when he talks to 444 (his system) but cant say it out loud since he will be OOC. In the end the ML falls for the MC. Now it's the MCs turn to torture the ML (mentally). In the end the MC dies miserably and in such a way that the death of the MC is deeply buried into the MLs mind and he can never forget."

I usually dont mind this type of stuff but I just couldnt get into this novel. Still, I continued reading and for half the arcs I just read a summary of each arc from a spoiler page. I feel like to actually understand the gist of the novel and everything, you dont even need to read the whole novel. Just read the last arc. It gives you the gist and some details of how the other arcs unfolded and why.

All the arcs are practically mindf*cking you.... so much torture.... but the MC actually enjoys it.

Honestly I dont understand how can so many people give it 5 stars. I read passed chapter 100 and then couldn't take it anymore. Finished the arc I was on and skipped to last one. I just wanted to see how it will end. It makes no sense. I dont like the MC. At 1st I found this conversation with the system funny but with time he just became more and more obnoxious. I read many transmigration and similar stories but I dont understand why each and every world was... more>> so depressing... I thought there was little character development for the ML.

Good writing + Good Translation.

This story made me cry even if I knew MC just acted lmao. If you're into dog blood and drama, I can't recommend this to you.

Yes I do enjoy people destroying each other, yes I DID enjoy this Novel. It is a bit repetitive in some ways but every arc has an interesting story so I was hooked.

My Reborn Boyfriend messed me up the most lmao. This novel blackened me. 5/5 if you're into this kind of thing.
