My Son Might Be A Villain

Su Ran, a music prodigy, woke up transmigrated into a book.

At that point in time, the main story arc in the book had already been completed. As a villainess female supporting character, not only did she need to take over the original owner’s pitiful life in poverty, she also gained an instant son right at his rebellious period.

Ten or so more years from then, the son would turn into a twisted, evil villain. He would appear in one of the extra chapters to pick on the male and female lead’s children.

***

Su Ran: Son, you shouldn’t be too outstanding.
Su Han: Why not?
Su Ran: ’cause you will be killed.

Su Ran: Son, would you like to learn music from me and become a zen, little fairy boy who only needs to drink dew.
Su Han: No, I want to go into business so I can support you.

I like the story because while it might be a romance novel, this story heavily tells about the mother and son relationship. To be honest the male lead in this novel is borderline a nuisance, lol.

I liked the MC because she's such a chill person. Except for being talented in music she is very much a grounded character. Even without ML present, this story could have carried itself with only the mother and son. ML was more of a plot device to solve all the villains and MC and her... more>> son can simply sit back and enjoy the ride.

Of course it doesn't mean that it was a bad novel. Simply that there wasn't much action and it was a very laid back story with springkles of evil here and there.

Just, the ending was bad. It felt somewhat abrupt and left many questions unanswered for me. <<less

The story went from around 3 star rating to a 1 star when the author tried to "build the relationship" of the ML, FL and the son at the Quality Development Outing. I honestly almost fell asleep when reading the chapters.

I'm going to give this a 2 star, because the translation was good and the plot was promising, but lacked execution. The former FL and ML in the previous story is barely mentioned and the current FL doesn't really get revenge. The ML basically gets revenge for her, but the... more>> mention is just in passing. You won't get any satisfaction from it. Also, how the ML fell for the FL is also... unsatisfactory. I can't even bring myself to finish the story anymore, because the banter between the ML and his son is just too much. I really thought this was going to be a nice novel, but it's really just disappointing. The story is so focused on the relationship between the ML, FL, and their son that everything else is an afterthought. There's no real plot! <<less

I’m giving this three stars cause the story is good but there were some things that didn’t make sense. I feel that this story has way too much potential that was buried because of cliched tropes.I’m just disappointed because I felt that this story could be so much more than just a Mary Sue heroine that slept with a CEO, had his secret child then became a happy family later on.

The MC as a bystander should have been able to look at ‘Su Ran’ more objectively as an outsider. This... more>> was a 15/16 year old girl who made up all these vicious plans and although she deserves retribution I feel jail or a mental hospital should have been better than gang r*pe and then going on to becoming a hooker that served the people she looked down on and abandoned by her family. She was completely abandoned by the world and there was no way she could be a good mother to anyone in that situation. I feel the point of villainess transmigration novels is to understand that although these cannon fodders do bad things they are still humans who would have liked a better life for theme selves. I feel it’s very unrealistic that all these traumatic experiences that could have been used to build up Su Ran and Su Han’s relationship where just glossed over and chalked up to plot devices. They both have years of trauma that goes ignored and their relationship was just founded in the span of a month like those 12 years never existed.

i also kinda felt that the ML came out of absolutely nowhere. He was great and all but the story just felt wrong to me. It was like the author was trying to fit in as many cliche’s as they could. I don’t know. I was just disappointed by the direction of the story <<less

The novel is pretty good and doesn't have many dog blood dramas, well there's still some gruesome drama going on in the background, but all is been taken care of by the almighty ML.

The MC cleary separates herself from the previous body owner and decides to live her life by preventing the plot to destroy her son's future. Very wholesome motherly love. (Apart from the times where the only thing in her mind was "did you do your homework?", seriously, that's some PTSD material right here.)

The rivalry between son... more>> and father is very funny because their personalities are basically the same, typical cold and awkward man (very gap-moe).

Spoiler

The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is about the fate of the children of the one surnamed Song (sorry I can't remember). I mean their father's company went bankrupt and then their mother went insane. They were such sweet beans, I don't wish to see them transform into the villains of the story and hate the MC's family. (Even though they rightfully can do so.)

[collapse]

I still have to read the ending. I will update my review later~~ <<less

I'm kinda disappointed how easily the breach with the instant son was resolved. A few days of kindness suddenly crossed out a lifetime of abuse and abandonment, and turned him into a lovesick tsundere puppy, who barks at everyone who's getting too close to him dearest mommy.

Wtf, dude, she tried to put you in the dumpster after she birthed you, she never feed you properly, and barely acknowledged that you're living with her. Don't you think your standards are too low!?

It would've been much better if son would feel there's... more>> something wrong with MC and realized that another person possesses her body, and because this person treats him like family and cares for him, he would pretend not to notice her weirdness. Because he's finally getting the motherly love he wants and deserves, and isn't willing to change it. It would make much more sense than what's happening here. (BTW, if you know of title with similar plot, do hit my DMs in forum, please!! I would love to read it!)

In conclusion: great premise, but not a great execution ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯ It's okay if you're just here for the fluff, though, because you'll hardly get anything more out of that. <<less

It's so overwhelmingly uncomfortable to read I dont understand how people enjoy this misogynistic stuff. It's literally all about a woman being forced in every way imaginable. Into a harsh life, into motherhood, into relationships, and etc. I just can't bring myself to continue.

Okay long rant, also thank you for the translations, I appreciate the hard work!

Tldr: the son vs ML is awkward, annoying, and forced. MC is weak and what about the OG?

I really enjoyed the first 100 translated chapters or so, seemed like a great set up. I was looking forward to her slowly fixing her relationship with her son and supporting herself with composing, but then it just went wonky.

I don't mind the ML (loves/kind only to MC is my kind of ML) but I think he was introduced WAY... more>> too soon. It threw off the whole flow. The sons protectiveness of the MC after the clarification doesn't make sense. I mean how can he so easily forgive 12 years of neglect but is hostile to the ML who was innocent and met once. If the author wanted the petty son and childish ML trope that they wrote, it would have worked better if the ML and MC got to know each other first for a while and developed some feelings away from the son, like with the piano pieces, then have him find out he was the father. Also it should have been like 2 years later, after the MC and son relationship was more repaired. The son constantly being a little arse to his dad got annoying, the dad disregarding him and being cold was s*upid too... you're the adult for **** sake!

Next the MC was set up to be a strong mostly independent woman, who could earn her place and protect her son. As the story went on though it just became about the ML and son fighting over her and protecting her because they thought her a naive delicate flower... she was a prostitute for heavens sake (from their perspective) of course she knows the dangers. The composing wasn't much in the story either, I mean there are only a little over 70 "translated" chapters left but she is just now going to a piano competition and only worked on 1 album.

Lastly what about the OG couple? They are mentioned as not harmonious and the twins don't even live with them. The 2nd OG ML doesn't care about the OGMC, it looked like the author was setting up something, but it went no where after getting readers excited. Then the Su family coming back. Why didn't the MC find any details about Sammy and just let it go? If the Su family is back that might be something she should investigate, if nothing more than to make sure she stays away from them. I have a feeling the author will rush all the OG storylines in the last few chapters along with a whirlwind romance.

Just so upset at this book because it was such a great start and was looking forward to where it would go, but it was too much of a let down. Mediocre at best.

Uggghh just so angry, thought I found a great novel to read after searching forever. <<less

This is the second 'stumbled over' dog food novel I have enjoyed this year.

It goes into day to day for depth without boring you with a chapter worth. The tension of being the former villainess is subtle and always looming yet the MC enjoys why she has and works hard to overturn the bad situation of original body. Her tsundere son is cute. Not really warmed up to ML. Certainly wish she would move to a different city soon as possible and leave the dog-blood 2d rate plot characters of... more>> the original setting far behind.

Spoiler

And no matter what the situation or even how vile she was being in the main plot she was still just an inexperienced bitter baby. To be vilified by the main 'cast' for being r*ped at age 16 and having a baby alone in a bathroom at age 17. What is a person once doted with ZERO experience supposed to do as work? Take care of a child too? How do they know how to budget? cook? care for others? What girl 'dreams of working' the red light district? Then the perp decade older CEO is hell bent on taking her child away but does not have any personal interest (as yet) in the kid? FK that! I want hr to move far away to a city that can support her rise and find a true reliable, gentle and appreciative man. maybe also in music. But we all know... r*pey CEO always gets the girl ;_;

I'll be nice and brief:

My Son Might Be A Villain is the only translated web novel that I have read up to the newest chapter on this entire website.

Every other translated web novel on this site has at least one glaring flaw that completely ruins the experience, whether that be from poor grammar, 2-D characters, boring premises, or being a blatant power fantasy.

This web novel has spot on grammar, has character depth, has an interesting premise (at least, the spin it took on the cliche of reincarnating into an Otome... more>> game), and is not a blatant power fantasy.

On top of all that, the story is extremely heart-warming, and is definitely worth the read.

The MC is introduced to be around 28 years old and that's okay and all, but her son is 13. I'm not hating on the young age part where the original character had him but it's the background that's introduced in the beginning that bugs me. It was the fact that she was r*ped (which is mentioned in the first chapter) ! That means the original character was r*ped and kicked out by her family only at the age of 14-15, which is ridiculous. With the fact that the original FL somehow having twins the same age as her son, it feels like the author is completely ignoring crucial plot holes to make it convenient to write about MC as a young woman. It was also said that the original character poisoned and tried to kidnap the original book FL and that would mean she was only 12-14 which is another point that's unrealistic. The writing is also confusing at times as there isn't much detailed writing over some topics and the character and story is contradictory.

First novel I MTLed since I liked the story so much that I just couldn't wait for the translation!
I really loved the mother-son relationship the MC developed with her son! It was just so cute and fluffy that the ML only spoiled it with his appearance every time. ; (

Also, the MC was such a loving and caring mother that I felt like I was reading about my own mother at times... (@_@)

Ps. Su Han is the best. ML was unnecessary.

This is my first time reading a novel that is focus on the interaction of the villainess and her son wherein the transmigration of the MC is the time when the original plot has already ended.

Looking forward for more updates?

Premise, name of novel, and summary is a complete lie.

MC immediately acts Ooc and leaves.

Magically super OP, Handsome, and rich ML appears to woo our genius music MC. Her son is a Tsundere and ML keeps mocking the son.

Novel not recommended due to sheer lack of content and story.

No real romance, and rushed ending.

-300bil/10.

Lots more wrong but this is a lazy review here.

Expect no face-slapping from FL to the villains because her all-powerful husband (the ML) did all the work for her in the background while she remains naive and innocent. She wholeheartedly continues pursuing her dream as a pianist. Very light and heart-warming. The ending for the real Su Han is so bittersweet, my heart really ache for him. Highly recommended!

I'm about halfway through the raw at the moment (the translator splits chapters). This is a fluffy little story, but I admit I somewhat lost interest halfway through. I'm just not that into camping, and to be honest the romance is a little dull... just the mother-son relationship aspect is more exciting for me. In a sense, I feel that her child warmed up to her too fast partially to speed up the development of the romance, and would have rathered that it was done differently.

Loved this story. I MTLed it and it was easy to read btw. The story is simple and heartwarming. Su Ran transmigrated into a novel and become an insta mother. The story more focused around Su Ran and Su Han (her child). About how the child start to warm up with his mother and how both find their happiness after that.

Oh, I really loved the extra about Su Han though. That really touched my heart.

Maybe it's unpopular opinion but I don't get why many people hated org Su Ran so. I mean, I know she could be very hateful but people seemed to forget that at that time, she was just a 15/16 yo, a minor. It's at the age where a teen could be impulsive, ignorant, and wasn't afraid of the consequences of her action. I don't mean that org Su Ran was completely blameless but half of the blame should be directed towards the adults around her. Many of her actions required... more>> adult's consent so why didn't her family say anything when they saw MC run towards her own destruction? The reason could only be that the Su family wasn't that innocent either and they even condoned org Su Ran's action, probably thinking about the immense benefit if org Su Ran could marry into Song family. But when things went wrong, they heartlessly abandoned org Su Ran.

So what do you expect from a child who grew up in this kind of family? Of course not all the child from a twisted family would grow up to be crooked but most of them definitely would and org Su Ran was the example. At the age of 15/16, she still needed her parent's guidance but sadly, she didn't get it.

As for her abuse towards Su Han, why the police forcefully made her (who was still a minor after giving birth) took care of Su Han when they knew that org Su Ran was mentally, psychologically, and physically incapable of taking care of a baby. They knew with org Su Ran's condition, it was high likely that she would abuse her baby but they didn't care anyway. They also just left her alone, even after knowing that she didn't have an adult around her who could guide her. It's really a miracle that Su Han could grow up normally.

Spoiler

I'm happy that in another world, org Su Ran finally thought it through after having a second chance. She let go of her obsession towards Song Zeyu and moved on with her life.

[collapse]

Ok, back to the story. I think this story was quite entertaining and I specially love MC's interaction with Su Han. ML also actually cared about Su Han but he didn't directly show it because both he and Su Han were the ultimate tsundere. It's just that, romance came out of the blue for ML and for MC, it's a bit too slow because she kept denying the possibility of ML liking her. But it's still a happy thing for Su Han because he could have a complete family.

Spoiler

The org Su Han's ending also wasn't bad. Although he was battered and bruised after fighting Song family, he still met his father and they got along well.

[collapse]

As for the ending, I still want to know about:

Spoiler

The Song and Su family's ending. Arghh... where is my face slapping?

Why is it rated so high? Characters are simple and writing is bland. Su Ran and Su Han are not that bad actually, but it is impossible for neglected child to warm up with his mother in mere days after years of abuse and lonelieness. Psychological traumas can't be resolved so smoothly and so easily. And I absolutely hate ML character. He doesn't have any real personality traits, he is just generic allmighty arrogant prince on a white horse, here to resolve all problems and save the day.

I gave it up halfway because I was so bored. I admit that I really liked the beginning especially when Su Ran was awkwardly trying to win over Su Han, who was a tsundere kid that is both likeable and realistic in his initial reactions towards her. Their interactions became really adorable and cute after that and I also liked all the side characters, even the ML whom I found really cute in an awkward way.

Spoiler

It was until the ML suddenly and out of nowhere fell in love with Su Ran that I started to find the story untolerable. He became boring and unbearable like the typical cold overprotective MLs and I don't really find his interactions with Su Han cute or hilarious just like what the other reviewers said. He's very annoying and the story should've stayed being about mother and son or the author should've written the ML falling in love with Su Han in a believeable way.

Pritty promising so far.

The realtionships between the MC and her body's previous relationships with the other people is described with delicacy and complexity. And I was eager to read more.

I particulary like the description of the "son" who'll become a villain. The way he behaves is verry similar to an inteligent teenager who has been abused and neglected by his single mother.

Hopefully the the ML's appearence won't ruin everything.
