As a classic xuanhua it is very good.

Positive points:

1- MC know that xuanhua people are idiotic, and tries not to be like then, but at least he has very good excuses to be the way he is, even if he knows that he is idiotic too. (actually the excuses are so good tha u just accept that, it is not like Chu Fang at all).

2- Usually I don't like haren, because, as I see it, harem usually are just p*rnografic appellation. But, so far, it has been good, no p*rn... more>> (very light at least). MC cares for his lovers, actually this is one of those chinese novel that misogyny is not so strong, and in certain ways the autor try to be more fair in that regard.

3- Not just bigger fist wins. Yes there is that too, but MC has skills that are not just magic clashing, I mean why aways aim you weapon at other people atacks, can't u dodge?

4- MC is not lucky, there isn't that mutch of plot armor.

5- MC fight with his own streng and not others...

6- MC is fun, he doesn't care in been shameless, he knows who he is.

Negative Points:

1- The beginning is king wierd, and doesn't seen very nice, specially with how he gets his first and second beaulty... It really has no logic for that, it is worst than love first sight...

2- At first I didn't notice very much, but after 1000+ chapter, the bullshitery and explanations became excessive, so I end up having to skip then... (why must they do that shit? Every Xuanhua...)

3- I aways liked the action parts in novel, but here is one of my biggest disapointments. Fight cenes are good, but why can't MC kill his enemmies? MC fight, enemy is defeat and magically escape, again and again... That makes the secound and third fights with the same enemy kinda boring and irritating, and it happens a lot in this novel.

Overal:

For a xuanhua novel, is a top notch one, I would put on par with Er Gen novels. It has everything a good xuanhua must have, and their bad caractristics are reduced here. <<less

I started reading it cause a lot of people were recommending it to me, I thought I would read sth different but it's the same old shit. Just another h**ny MC that chases any random girl he sees and tells them he loves them.

Shallow story with many plotholes. His father is the strongest person in the empire and has many strong commanders at his disposal but his family is having hard time to satisfy their daily hunger. People are bullying his son and don't even mind killing him.

1. All you have to do is get through the first book and then you'll start seeing that everything just keeps getting better. The first book of the series to me is a bit nonsensical and it shows little in gifted writing.
2. After this the violence and fights get far more into depth, you find memorable characters that aren't just cliche, you find philosophy concerning the Dao Hearts of the cultivators, and you find out how badass Long Chen truly is.

One of the best xianxia novels I've read recently. Lot of subtle discussions between cultivators about Dao-Heart.

MC makes an army.

Side characters grow with MC.

Unfortunately there are lot of s*upid and arrogant enemies. Still far better than many generic xianxia.

Overarching plot and slowly revealing secrets.

FACE SLAPPING. Really! MC makes a slapping dao.

MC is also an alchemist thought it wasn't the main focus.

Flirting and romantic plot is quite well written for the genre.

No forced sex/ r*pe as of yet. No NTR either.

The reason this novel get´s 5/5 from me isn´t because it is flawlessly good but it is fun to read.

The characters have their own personality even the Harem women. The dialogues are also quite good and more often than not funny.

Unfortunately I can´t give a better explanation about what I like because I am bad at writing english.

This novel is not that bad to be honest. Although it is the same generic sh*t once again, it is strangely a good read if you don't use your brain.

why do I read the easy going but tr*sh novels? Simply because of OP MC, beautiful world and harem. The proper op MC is rarely written. So her actions make her unqualified to MC's wife. Now just because MC was weak she declined his mariage and when MC became strong she happily became his woman. Marrying MC would hinder her path of cultivation so she declined him and she didnt want to sacrifice anything. Just because she was a f*cking jade beauty MC was head over heels for her and xiao hua was a villager and not a jade beauty so she was rejected.

i realized that MC and meng qi are scum cast from the same mould but are they respectable? Not at all. I hadnt realized this point while reading but I realized this while writing this review. This review is mainly a response to low reviews. I am not going against your thoughts on that matter. However I wish to point out that many things we say are bad in the story are left to writer's ability to make them great.

If you are thinking about picking it and you are discouraged by negative reviews consider reading this review as I am trying to bring out a different viewpoint on the story.

I want to start by saying that this novel is definitely not on the same level as well crafted fantasy stories. However, it has it's own charm to it. What some may enjoy will be unbearable to others.

Plot devices that push the story forward are repetitive, but in each case they play out a little different. They might add more to world building, character development, power rise, or add more mysteries. Plot on the surface is simple, however what supports it is not. The only way this novel will truly be great is if all yet unexplored parts will be explained and impact the story.
Personally as of c2549 the author has succeeded in doing so but the not everything has been explained yet, the story is not finished duh.
There are instances where some characters are not mentioned while a problem is being resolved although they are there and they should be able to pull their weight. On one hand it's good since some arcs are not expanded just to add them. On the other hand you might wonder why are they not there and maybe if they acted on the power level they are supposed to then the results would be different

As for the legion itself. Why is it a problem that he tries to rise them with him? Do we really need another MC thtat just sweeps every enemy by himself. People are saying they can't bear him any longer. But I wanna ask one thing
Is is not great when you achieve something with others and you can share the victory with them? Legion members were born under unlucky star and although they are not given any personality beyond being a legion why are they annoying? Maybe they will have even bigger role in the future. Maybe by rising them MC is actually changing the fate of the universe.
All I want to point out is that the author created another great plot tool and the success of the novel will depend on how he uses it later in the story.

Constant enemies, they philosophy, and why their never end?
The plot excuse for them is cheesy: It's due to MC's cultivation technique yada yada yada. Not the best explanation for sure. The philosophy of the world and of the enemies is simple: If you are in power you can decide on everything. If anyone threatens you or will in the future just kill him now or plot against him. It's all about gaining power and staying in power through whatever means necessary.
How is MC hypocritical for killing people? This is a world of different morals, which are quite popular in similar novels. MC himself has different philosophy which clashes with the world. To achieve his dreams he is forced to play by the world's philosophies to be recognized.
Never ending enemies only mean that MC is still a fish in the vast ocean and he fights other fish. Slowly the fish are getting bigger but the ocean doesn't see to end. That's a good thing we will enjoy more world building in the future.

Finishing thoughts:
If don't like this novel just because something hasn't happened yet and you need to wait you are just impatient to get your dopamine fix. Enjoy the ride cause if something actually big happens it will be a one time thing.
The quality of the novel has yet to be decided and for sure some parts will be lacking. It's not a fantasy book it's a web novel. There is some cheesy stuff but who cares this novel makes me laugh

I like the story, kind of anyway but it needs to get to the point already I've skipped more chapters than I've read and I havent missed a beat. It's rediculous to the point that I skipped 60ish chapters and missed nothing. Also there is not one good character outside the MC and mabye 2 of his harem the rest are all either evil, greedy and s*upid or the dont have character. I have never been so angry reading a novel, I truly wanted to like this because it was recommended as a face slapping novel on multiple threads of Reddit and in multiple occasions.

The more I read the more I think it is sick, the villain are completely one dimensional with no thoughts of their own except thinking how great themselves are, there is not a single shred of intelligence which really awes you that they survived to this point in life, especially when you know about politics of ancient time.

This is extremely enjoyable novel with likable MC. If you want a story about going against the odds this one is for you. Yes, there are many downsides: it has pretty slow start, some arcs are not as good, some c*ckroach enemies are pretty annoying -- but all of this doesn't matter as the novel itself is enjoyable.

Nine Star Degenerate body is really about a degenerate who plays dating sims with live people and his number of targets are ever increasing. Author justifies this by saying one man can have multiple wives and concubines and there no wrong in it.

MC is braindead and constantly escalates fights when there are none as author believes thinking is for losers and killing is great for cultivators. When others reciprocate the same to him back suddenly they are vile and evil but his actions are not.

There's quite a mix of reviews here so it seems like people either love it or hate it. I'm in the middle because of it. The author gives us some new content different from other novels and the MC's verbal judo is quite entertaining to read. What this novel doesn't have is the constant competition after competition. It also doesn't have the constant exploration of forbidden area this and that where only the names of the sidekicks will change but the content is the same. Those annoy me more than... more>> fighting competitions. There are definitely times when the story line is quite good but there are also very repetitive things in the novel which have also been mentioned by other reviewers.

I am not as annoyed as other reviewers when it comes to the harem, plot armors, being framed etc. but I do I have two things that made me downgrade the novel to 3 stars - one, fights are dragged out by the constant use of pulling out trump cards. You think the fight is over? Nope, let me show you trump card x! That didn't work? Let me pull out trump card y! Ahahaha, I actually have trump card delta force hiding in the dark just for you!

The second thing splits into two branches. Our MC encounters top geniuses, either he defeats them and sends them running or MC himself will run. They will encounter each other again, top genius and the same thing happens until maybe their third or fourth time meeting do they get killed by the MC. But wait, there's actually super top genius that is better than top genius and the defeating and running happens again. But wait, there's actually supreme top genius that is better than super top genius... okay, you guys should get what I'm saying now. Basically, the more you read, you're reaching super dooper ultimate supreme unparalleled top-shelf michelin star genius at my chapter count.

Sadly, I have been skimming a lot of fights and haven't missed a thing because I've read about the fight a thousand chapters ago since the new fight is just a change of name and special moves and trump cards. I would still recommend you to try the novel out because there are some good stuff buried along with the bad. <<less

This is one of the best cultivation novels, I would put it in the top 5 list easy.

Some reviewers complain that plot armor is a bit too thick. There is a reason behind the armor, and the main part of the story revolves around it, and protagonist himself is conscious of it. I pretty like this solution, because most cultivation novels just throw unreasonable power-ups and miraculous coincidences anyways, at least we have an explanation here, and it is very good (no spoilers).

The protagonist, his friends and girls are likable. Maybe they are partially cliche, but they are written very well.

The world is very diverse and causes many arcs just by existing, this is a great solution by the author with brain cells. Wars in a parallel world, infiltrating into an enemy sect, fighting with an assassin's guild, going through mini-worlds, fooling ghosts, ancient trials, wild beast forests - there are tons and tons of places to have fun in.

The story itself is very long so I cannot just say that "protagonist did this and that hence the story". It is very long. I mean, really. Chapters are long and not filled with fillers, so you can imagine. If you like the story, it is a huge bonus that will make you very happy.

Would I recommend it? Yes.

Oh, that face-slapping technique that evolves into divine dao... If only other writers were that creative. xD <<less

Probably my personal favorite MC out of every single novel I've read.

The only problem is, the plot is just so dragged out and there is so much unnecessary filler chapters (like 99.9% of Chinese WNs... but thats just the expected result from the way web novel authors are contracted in China).

I'd still give it 5 stars just because unlike other garbage like MGA, the plot is actually still very interesting despite the cliches and the characters are well developed and likable
