On the norm.

It's easy to read, and the pace is good. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a nice story to read when you're bored.

The few points who bother me are :

  • All girls fall in love to MC. A classic, I know, but I would like him to have at least 1 male friend.
  • The plot is too obviously convenient for the protagonist.
Spoiler

The protagonist meet his old teammates who ambush him and force him to sign an unfair contract. The protagonist sign, but he knows that this type of contract is null if one of the party who sign is dead, and he conveniently just has a mark left by the death goddess herself, Persephone.

[collapse]

  • Mc's ex group member who are too much s*upid to be a A rank adventurers. I understand that the story want to tell "That because MC was here that they became famous", but no. Even the MC can't negate all their wrong doing. The author make them too s*upid.
Spoiler
  • When MC leaves, they let him go while laughing, thinking he was a dead weigh anyway
  • Immediately after, they lose all their quest one after another
  • They try to engage a new member, but they left after one or two jobs with them
  • They realize MC was useful to them and want him to go back, not thinking at all about why he left
  • Since MC refuses, they didn't reflect at all about why their team don't work anymore and continue to fall
  • When the guild menace them to removes their A rank, so they decide to bring back MC again, this time with a bait. They plan to explore the dungeon MC dream to explore since childhood.
  • They nominate MC as a temporary recruit, MC reject it again (also, nominating a temporary recruit who is already in team is seen as rude)
  • We learn that they obtain new sponsors BECAUSE they tell everyone that MC will come back, so they screwed
  • In a dungeon, they meet MC's team who was in live and ask him his loot from the dungeon before insulting his teammates for being non-human.
  • They are summoned by the guild because of the racist comment on live, and they think it's all MC fault for being on livestream.

With all that, we learn that the Ex-team aren't able to :

    • take care of their supplies
    • take care of their teammates
    • take care of their equipments
    • learn about the dungeon, before entering
    • have basic knowledge about their own job
    • thinking of a strategy before attacking
    • adapting their strategy to their environment
    • make food (it's a maid job, not their)
    • having a proper behavior in public

How these guys were able to became first rank adventurers in the first places ? They don't even know how to feed themselves ! We can't say "MC was here", he can't prevent them to talking sh*t in public or livestream. Even with MC around, they should have a bad reputation.

[collapse]

1 person, okay, but it's completely staggering that 4 peoples aren't even able to question what happen and constantly blame MC for anything when he isn't their teammate anymore.

EDIT : There is 1 ex-teamate who realize all the bullshit, but I only give her half of the credit, since she only changes after becoming the next target of bullying after MC.

EDIT2 : So the new victim of bullying after MC left is sorry about her behavior toward MC, and she immediately views by MC, as dictated from the novel, "one of us". She isn't someone who MC as bitter feeling or anything, she is like a member of his party. That is weird. <<less

Really enjoy the story. Interesting characters, protagonist who isn't just a reader stand-in. The translator likes to include hinting and even spoilery comments throughout the text and some common Japanese translation mistakes bring down the enjoyment a bit, but not unreadable at all. Would be worth buying the official translation if/when it exists.

Read ahead a bit in the raws. I still really enjoy the story, but there is a consistent/regular threat of s*xual assault on the girls. I'd probably put it at 4 stars due to that even as I... more>> like all the good characters and really enjoy the world building. <<less

The plot is very convenient towards the MC. But at the same time there's a in universe story reason.

The combat is kinda boring. The MC is the party leader and very methodical yet adaptable to the situation. It's makes me wonder how he would had acted like in his old party where he wasn't leader.

For that reason the fighting is kinda boring. They even face several unknown monsters in the pokedex yet they take them down all the same.

Though it is interesting reading how other parties uses different tactics to... more>> handle the same monster encounters differently.

Also the mystery aspect of the overall exploration is decent with world building and details for the reader to also try to figure out the mystery. Though the MC has various meetings with guild conference, party members, etc that you usually don't have much time between chapters to guess before the solution or character guesses of the mystery are given out. Also the MC's answer ia the truth.

The other issue is the betrayal or hostile act of a 3rd party during their adventures. It's very quick and shocking though I don't like it that much. It is foreshadowed but the method of attack or hint of ambush is never stated. It just happens when the MC is tired out. Though the 2nd vol one is decent in that regard.

Cliche in the romance aspect. He is dense, but admittedly self-aware of it. That said there is progression during "emotional" afterevents. My main gripe is the love interest/party members and basically anyone friendly with the MC says he too hard working, or that he should share his thoughts or that he needs to chill. I think that such a MC rarely have time to pursue and investigate on his own since others keep bothering him to let them help him out. It makes sense for dungeon/labyrinth exploration since MC only knows stuff of magical sense while there's a better mage, scout and spiritualist who can offer alternative views from their 6th senses like speaking with spirits, etc. But outside of those instances they are very nagging and kinda feels like filler for word count and very repetitive.

Overall decent story, not much plot holes but some stuff are too repetitive and bland. <<less

Spoiler

I am so frustrated at the people who keep on targeting the MC or one of the people in his party. I hope that the MC gets to see all the people that nearly caused one of his party members to become someone else's s*ave by using a subordination collar. That way he can vent his anger at them when he gets to take them down. Also I wonder why part of the labrythn collapsed. I do hope that Jamie gets saved because she did technically save the MC party 2-2-3 times and that she wants to apologize in person and that she seems to want to repent for her mistakes and then go see her family again at least one more time.

[collapse]
I do rate this story a 5.0 because of how interesting the plot was and I was worried when the MC dream was rushed up in the beginning but the story doesn't rush the ending part of his dream just part of it. Due to that it makes the plot way more interesting because of what is going on in the world.

Just a good, light-hearted story. The MC knows how valuable he is, and doesn't have any self-confidence issues. The girls don't insta-fall for him, they just seem to value him the way his original party should have. Overall it's oddly realistic in that regard.

My first reviev so You know and I only rate how I feel about title.

I like this story. Its nice plot in 'lests start again' kind not too fast pace but no boring. I particulary like dense MC adventuring with his former students and thinking of himself as nothing special. Its not packend with a lot of everything but something going on all the time. Nice to read someting light but I prefer a llloooot more chapters 😁

So far it’s pretty good. The developments are coming at a good pace, not too fast or too slow. The MC is overpowered but he doesn’t just coast on it and instead uses items he makes relatively well. The FLs have their own personality and are developed well. Overall a story worth reading.

well....i recommend this when u want to read something entertaining with obvious drawn out chpts in between waiting for other releases, dont know if the light novel is fleshed out better but manga is better mostly than wn. as this similiar to live dungeon with less thought out directions, a harem, timeline spans several years but seems like months, to many filler chpts with the usual MC cliched self reflections/flashback thoughts/reminders etc. am always for harem when done right, this is a b- for harem insertion. dont know if author... more>> lost steam while writing vol 3 or got serialzation and just wanted to at least complete this to some degree. while u may occaisonally clench ur fist cause so many of these authors use the same cards (sadly very little originally from authors past 7-8 years), its does 2 things, gets author paid from serialzation or licensing (yah author), and at least the wn version is entertaing enough to reread in between other releases when u want something u dont have to exert brain cells towards to be entertained and read <<less

Dropping this... The core story isn't bad but the writing is pretty horrendous. Even if it's a machine translation with little to no edit, the writing style can still be analysed. Reading this feels like a waste of time. If you replaced each chapter by 10 sentences of what happened, it would have the same impact and result on the reader.

There's no romance, no world building, no character development, not enough explanations and details about everything.

Non edited MTL made all that a pain.

3/5 because some plot part were a bit... more>> interesting <<less

The briefest way to describe this is story is saying it has an amazing plot but a very lackluster world-building.

The plot is well-written, well-thought, original enough, not pretentious—and has a proper beginning, development and end without many hanging threads. It doesn't have deus-ex-machina or unnecessary fiats.

The bad part is that anything that isn't strictly essential to the plot is shoved aside or simply not show. This includes characterization, action, actual world-building and romance. I will repeat, the story is perfectly functional as it is—besides, it's on the short side—, but... more>> the last two really had me wondering if I didn't skipped something. <<less

It is a decent story as the other reviewers has pointed out. However, it loses a star due to the translation / grammar.

The translator gets pronouns wrong, like when talking about a genderless beast it says "he" instead of "it". When talking about the female party member, it uses "he" instead of "she".

I see this series is finished, so I hoped there wouldn't be these mistakes in the beginning chapters, however, the translator doesn't use the feedback from the comments. There is a commentor, that points out the mistakes (comments... more>> from 2021), and yet the mistakes / errors have never been fixed.

It is a bit sad to see a good series go down in quality due to the translator not using the feedback / comments to fix the typos and errors.

There are also just a inconsistant names of items and sometimes the characters' names also change. <<less
