After I Livestreamed Raising Cubs I became the Wealthiest in Interstellar

Carrying a spirit beast rearing system, Mingyou transmigrated. In nineteen years, he never saw a single “spirit beast” with sufficient stats, until he came to a rundown animal care facility to work.

Mingyou hugged the huge black cat while crying tears: “Psychic powers drained to exhaustion, powers in disorder, malnutrition, and how many old wounds all over?! Who’s the evil scum that abused you!! I’ll raise you, and I won’t let you get harmed again!”

Prince of the Kingdom — Former Grand Marshal — Hero of Interstellar Space — Dark Shadow Liger — Arthur had a bunch of question marks floating over his head: “Is this guy sick in the head?”

——

Through livestreaming his cub rearing skills, Mingyou sold off countless spirit beast nutrition supplements, and became the top wealthiest man in interstellar space.

One day, the king urged his fully recovered younger brother to return to work in the military.

Arthur-cat rolled over on the special order cat bed worth tens of millions, and lazily said: “As the cat of the wealthiest person, acting cute is my livelihood, why do I need to work?”

Beside him lay his former subordinates, all nodding their furry heads, fully agreeing: “That’s right that’s right!”

——

Mingyou later found out that the group of beast cubs at the brink of death he raised up actually used to be heroes who had all established illustrious achievements on the battlefield against the Zerg.

The war has ended. Interstellar space has returned to peace. And the heroes have removed their armor to return home.

I was about to read it coz it looks promising but the name of the ML just stopped me. I'm sorry but his name is what my Father's name is 😭 (it feels illegal to read this for this particular reason and no matter how I wanted to erase it, it popped out everytime I read the synopsis)

Hilarious story, adorable characters (and not just the furry ones), great world building, and lots of hot blooded segments that would've made for a great anime adaption. 木兰竹 Has become one of my favorite authors, and this is probably their work I like the most right now.

There’s only so much cooking, “ooh fluffy/plush/floofiness etc.”, and “oh my, look at the cute little anchor, I wish I was that lucky” comments you can take. It had some vaguely amusing moments but it’s just way too long and repetitive. When I looked at the number of remaining chapters and felt dread, I realised it was time to walk away because there’re way better things to read and not enough time, why waste it on something that feels like a chore. The humour is also incredibly juvenile and barely... more>> brought a smile, very cliched plot, and no romance to speak of. I just can’t get behind a “couple” where one constantly calls the other s*upid You, that isn’t an amusing nickname, it's just demeaning. <<less

There is this thing that this author does (don't get me wrong, many other authors do it too) when they just pause the story for several paragraphs of exposition. And it's always someone thinking about this stuff. Like "hold up, let me review this part of my planet's history in my mind, just in case I turn out to be a character in a novel whose author needs to exposition". But it' not a deal-breaker for me, I won't rate it for now because I still don't know how I... more>> feel about the novel and several reviews had made me wary. <<less

Oh my lord you HAVE to read this. It is absolutely hilarious, the MC is smart but so silly at the same time.

Spoiler

one time he rode on the MLs back screaming a battle cry after shouting out the name of their moves to increase the power. 😂😂

[collapse]

You definitely will not regret reading this. The extras wrap everything up nicely and give closure to everyone's regrets.

If you expect this novel MC to be like Cloud Raising Dragon Cub App, Cub Raising Association, 6 Cats Rush to Raise Me, I’m Using the Interstellar Live Broadcast to Raise Cubs, then.... you're not exactly right... (Call it 'wrong' also doesn't quite right either)

How to say... Those MCs has certain maturity while this novel MC has some naivety... and definitely has the 'Ignorance' the way he treats the 'Beast'. NOT in bad way, but in the he really really didn't know the so called 'Beast' identity. That's one... more>> part of his Ignorance mixed with Naivety.

The other part is, the way the Beast around him treat MC. If MCs from the novel I mentioned above treat the Beast/Cub as if they're their Parents/Guardian or Babysitters/Teacher/Nanny, this MC is not like that.

The 'Beast' themselves are older than him (more or less) to start with. MC mentioned how he want them to be his Beast Spirit Partners (kinda like Pokemon or Digimon?). He spoiled and babying them, but the 'Beast' (mostly ML) can argue with him in equal footing. Like Patient and Nurse kind of thing in the view of the Beasts'. Or well, like Friends in general. Or an Elders to their youngster caretaker? Anyway They try to Protect MC's physical and mentality. And They can even 'criticizing' MC. Lol.

And MC and ML has so many Friendly Bantering from the start. MC and ML 'raise' each other. Lol

Read the story, and you will get what I mean!

ML, based on all few pieces of 'flashbacks', a protagonist of his own story. He has his Childish and slightly Tsundere side, but also truly a Leader in his Group and not just because he's a Royalty.

MC is slightly Childish, but in Lovable "I can't help but feeling fondness toward him" kind of way. And unfortunately has social anxiety toward other people (human), compared to the other MC of those novel with similar theme who doesn't shy or fear other human/people.... with Chaotic brain/way of thinking/imagining.

I can't stop thinking and saying it out loud how Chaotic MC's brain is... (*>∇<) ノ Lmaooo

Anyway the story is not just full of Fluff and Heartwarming moments... It has a lot of Hilarious moments and make you cackles! ꉂ (ˊᗜˋ*) ♡ It's Epic and Absolutely Lovable!!! Truly Enjoyable!!!

For the Romance, it's Slow Build. And very very hard to tell. It's not like it's non exist in sense of no one mention it. It mentioned many times about the Possibility of Future Relationship. What ML or MC feel... How others' see their relationship...

But it really make us confused so far. Even ML is unsure...

This was simply impossible to analyze! It was entirely the fault of Mingyou’s brain circuits being too problematic! (Copy-paste ML's pov of any possible romance between him and MC)

Because MC is really too Chaotic...

Spoiler

In ch 93 they finally talk about their relationship.

Anyway, it's refreshing unique rare scene where ML demand Romantic Love Confession because apparently MC already thought they're a Couple in Honeymoon.

[collapse]

Oh Mingyou... 🤣

Anyway it was totally different from many other Raising Cub novel. Our MC make things different...

I pray the translation won't stop until complete! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

It's an Epic novel you shouldn't miss! <<less

Three stars is subjective, up until where I read there's nothing super wrong with it.

I recommend it to those who like lots of fluff and don't depend on romance, but would suggests to take a break every 20 or so chapters to prevent yourself from getting annoyed.

The writer is really thorough when it comes to world building, there's an explanation for everything and nothing contradicts each other.
It's honestly really impressive and unexpected for a story that seems so juvenile at first glance, the plot isn't as shallow as you... more>> would think.

Characters are all very charming, interactions fun, a little bit of comedy at times, lots of fluff and slice of life.

To put it bluntly: wholesome.

My problem is, that there's just too much fluff, too much of what I came to think of as "filler" after 66 chapters of the same few things over and over.
Cooking, cuddling, finding a hero, livestreaming, cooking, cuddling...
Online conversations are added that sometimes take up more than half of a chapter, later research comes into play and it gets so tedious to read these world building info-dumps.
Yes, they explain every little detail, which is great and impressive, but it gets immensely tiring when it happens so often.
I got the feeling the writer didn't trust their readers enough to understand simple things on their own, many are even repeated several times in the form of a summary to make sure the audience with the attention span of a goldfish still remembers it.
Coupled with the overall theme and writing style, I can't help but feel that the novel was written for toddlers.

For the romance, there's none up to where I read.
It's not even slow burn, there isn't any kind of burn at all.

The novel is seriously good, quite professional, in parts deep and meaningful, but for me it has reached the point where I can't enjoy it anymore, there's too much that disrupts the flow of the actual story.
Serious or emotional moments get constantly destroyed by mindless fluff or antics that haven't been funny since chapter 20, my emotional involvement has dropped to zero and I find myself nitpicking more and more because it's just not engaging enough.
Too much of a good thing is bad as well, I really wish the writer would have balanced the serious and light-hearted elements better. <<less

A typical fun and relaxing interstellar system cub raising story... until the author tries to develop the romance.

They know how to write fluff and healing, but not romance, and at c87 I already could care less about the romance subplot.

Would have given more stars if it wasn’t romance, unfortunately, but it just wasn’t developed enough to get me invested. The rest is fine.

Would have probably give it 4 stars if I had stopped right after the trafficking rescue plot and just got updated on the other relevant plot details, but... more>> I insisted cause I actually do think main couple is cute and... yeah, the writing of their romance is lackluster. Open ending would have been better.

2.7/5, could have been a 3.5/5 if author-San had handled the romance better. <<less

It's dull. It's sweet. It's tooth-rottingly, diabetics-inducingly sweet, like if you poured a tub of artificial sweeteners down your gullet. There isn't much to this novel aside from fluff, sugar, and then some deus-ex machinas to keep it all together. It's too forced, there's nothing refreshing about it. It's like having my head forcibly rammed into a vat of icing sugar.

(I wrote that blurb^ for a diff review, but I'm pasting it here because it's true for this novel as well.) I think I was at a chapter in... more>> the 70s when I dropped—not that it matters, because what's a plot? This novel certainly doesn't actually care.

If you deleted half a chapter every time the novel mentions "cute fluffies omg so so cute", you could probably cut 70% of the novel. It's like reading a novel for a 5 year old. It keeps telling you that everything is so cute, the spirit beasts are so cute, the MC is so cute, everything is so cute and cute and fluffy and maybe even cute. Basically, it does its best to ram cuteness beneath your ribs, and honestly, it's just incredibly tiresome and not at all cute or genuinely fluffy; it's artifice all the way down, the literary equivalent of a tub of fondant. Inbetween the author/tl'er bombarding you with "cute! Fluffy! Cute!" there's some lumbering derelict semblance of a plot trying to happen.

Unfortunately, I can't be bothered about that already unremarkable plot because the author is holding me at gunpoint to try and force me into acknowledging how cute~ and fluffy~ and soft~ everything is. Forget about putting all the spirit beasts to sleep, I think this MC's about to give me narcolepsy. <<less

So far, pretty good.

I've read a few others with similar titles/themes. It's definitely not my favorite trope. I almost skipped it just because of the title.

Usually they go: Transmigrate, raise cute kids for a few chapters, then climb to power and internet glory with little to no problems by introducing "ancient technology or cooking". Save the universe or something.

... more>> Sometimes the MLs and/or kids get kinda forgotten about or are completely neglected story wise for large stretches.

It's seems difficult for authors to balance romance, fame, and child raising together. Honestly, I'm rarely able to finish them as they get way too boring.

This one is definitely along those same lines except instead of "children", he's raising
Spoiler

broken, adult, war hero...... Pokemon.

He's definitely treating them like Pokemon, not kids.

And it just seems generally better written than most I've read in the same vein. The world building is a bit better. The characters have more emotion and back story. The mofu mofu times come off as genuinely healing because the characters themselves are healing from emotional and physical battle scars through being soft and playing. And while the MC does seem to have an OP power to be the ultimate therapy animal of the internet, it's not just about him but seeing their loved ones/war heroes healing that is also giving his internet fans hope and healing.

Anyways, it's worth a read if you're in the mood for a light read. <<less

I feel like this novel is pulled down by the translation... it really scrambles one brain. More or less edited MTL.... let's say the person who edited it does not speak English and didn't realize how much nonsense came out of it.

All in all the story could be good. It's kind of fluffy. Unfortunately lacks some logic. I can't get used to the logic of " the power of the heart". So, MC is the only beat tamer, thanks to his system, but they want to teach more people... more>> to become beat tamer and the only important thing is, that the people love the spirit beast... According to that logic you need a close relationship and this will be it... so people never had close relationships before? That makes no sense at all.... it's the biggest hole in this story so far.

I'm not finished yet, and can't tell you about the ending. So far it is a mediocre story with lots of fluff. Some tragedy thrown in and the livestream is just a background that sometimes appears.

At the moment I wouldn't exactly recommend this novel... just if you really like fluffies and have nothing better to read. <<less

I thought this novel was quite cute and fun, but a bit hard to understand. IDK if my comprehension ability sunk to the abyss or what but my mind went all @.@ reading this. Partly because of the pacing and the language used, I think. Anyway, I need more patience before reading this. So it’ll will have to wait until next time before I finish! For now, here’s a summary of the basic premise:

This is the MC’s (Mingyou) second chance at life. His first life, he was sickly and lived... more>> mostly in a virtual game where he specialized in raising spiritual beasts. When he was reborn, it was with memories of his previous life and a system on his head that was based on his character from the game. However, his parents secluded him because he was thought of as an ordinary human. After raising him for 19 years they finally threw him out as a waste. Fortunately, fate was kind to him and brought him to a sanctuary where injured spiritual beasts lived. Though things are a little different than he thought. These spiritual beasts may be mostly the same as the ones in the game, but they can also transform into humans LOL.

It’s fluffy and quite sweet. Focused on enriching the lives of the injured spiritual beasts who were forsaken by a majority of the interstellar universe (unconsciously?) for having outlived their usefulness as soldiers who protect the peace. <<less

At first when I saw this novel I thought it would be boring and the MC would just keep on livestreaming till the novel basically became unbearable. (Like a few other novels I have read) or the MC would keep on rambling about and making food dishes that are so very amazing from his past life 🙄🙄. Also I felt weird that the MC would take care of full grown ass men in the form of cubs (very creepy), and those men would just look at MC as if he... more>> was a god or smth. BUT that's didn't happen. And honestly Im very pleasantly surprised. It's amazing and not creepy. The men are not in their mental mature state so they act like babies (understandable and adorable interactions). The ML is not the overbearing bossy marshall type, infact he is pretty relatable and hilarious. All in all a must check out <<less

This is so good, sweet and fluffy, filled with comedy! There is no dog blood, no one dies, no cliffhangers, but there are very sharp, tiny knives hidden in some of the fluff that will make you cry (or at least they did me) :

Spoiler

one of the beast partners when they have their mind confused are waiting for their lover; their lover had died in the war and they had never actually confirmed their relationship, only acted ambiguously. MC manages to use his heart power so they can say goodbye, sort of. Another similar scene later where MC uses their heart power to let many of the soldiers who had died in the war say goodbye to their loved ones.

[collapse]

My only complaint is that the romance really didn’t develop well. Like, individually we do see them sort of falling for each other, but they never really seem to be much more ‘in love’ than the love that the rest of them have for each other as family. The romance could have been deeper. Do not go into this thinking you are going to see romancey, lovey dovey moments because you won’t. Lots of cute and funny ones though. And definitely filled with found family over blood family.

the translator is very good, my one complaint is that starting at chapter 19 or so, the table of contents doesn’t have links to the newer chapters and the next chapter button is broken. Frustrating to have to keep coming back and forth from novel updates to their website. I’ll come back and read their translation when it’s done despite reading the MTL.

MTL is super super easy to read, only one of the names messed up and it is a minor character that’s only in the last few chapters. Absolutely one of the easiest things I’ve read in MTL. <<less

I was looking for something light-hearted to read, but I didn't expect it to be light-hearted to this extent, lol.

The story is very cute and childish, with a bit of bitterness derived from the characters' backgrounds. I would say the author has done a really great job in the early parts of the story, as it balances the fluff and heartbreak moments really well, as well as sparks motivation and patriotism, eliciting both laughter and tears.

Being an animal lover, I enjoyed reading this a lot, although the fact that the... more>> characters were not actual cubs but adult spirit beasts felt a tad odd. However, given the way the MC treats the beasts and how the beasts parent the MC, it doesn't feel too contradictory, as the pampering is two-way.

The romance is also not that slow-paced. I mean, the protagonists showed their special bonds since they first met—it's clearly different from the bear, Dabai, who they met only a day later, not to mention other spirit beast partners. It is just that it isn't instant love or love at first sight, but something that took time to brew, developing from friendship to partnership and eventually blossoming into love. The author's choice not to hurriedly develop the relationship is applause worthy, and personally, I think the timing feels just right.

Spoiler

Notably, the romance was developed after the ML fulfilled his responsibilities as a marshal and a prince, i.e., finding the remaining heroes, promoting spirit beasts food and sciences, etc.; in short, this occurred after the star alliance regained its stability, which I think is a logical choice considering the ML's character setting and personality.

[collapse]

For the characters, the MC and the ML are both funny and silly. The ML is definitely not your typical marshal/prince male lead; he is childish and thinks he's the protagonist of the world (lol), while the MC's brain is totally a mess. It's a first for me to praise characters who aren't particularly sensible, but their mischiefs and bear-childness make them really endearing.

The other spirit beasts are also very adorable, and their personalities are very vivid. It's fun to read their interactions, especially when they haven't recovered and still have amnesia.

The story after all the heroes have been found (chapter 60+) was quite monotonous, though. It was straight-up fluff and propaganda to promote new science all the way. Although the ending was quite touching, I couldn't help but think it's pretty anticlimactic considering the effort the MC put into strengthening spirit beasts and improving the combat effectiveness of the whole star alliance, but without them actually going to a real war.

Fortunately, the author wrote the extras to wrap everything up and make up for, I believe, not only my but everyone else's regrets. I really appreciate the author's thoughtfulness, yet it would be even better if he or she could add more detail or expand the last war scene against the zergs, just for the sake of the climax.

Other than this, I don't think this novel has any considerable faults and plot holes.

Coming from a person who works in scientific fields myself, the logic chain and theories introduced in this story actually sound plausible. Given many existing research studies regarding emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical bodies out there, it seems the author uses these principles as a core setting for the novel, and this further highlights the author's praiseworthy effort in constructing a solid and well-founded storyline.

Overall, it's an enjoyable read. I'd rate this higher if I were a few years younger. This is definitely the type of story I'd read to refresh my mind once in a while.

P.S. To be honest, I always find it unfair to rate a novel based on the translation and usually avoid doing so. However, this time, I was genuinely frustrated because my reading experience really took a hit with all the extra efforts needed just to grasp the contexts. For this reason, I deducted one star from the rating (-0.5 for the translation, -0.5 for the monotonous later chapters and anticlimactic storyline). <<less

I dropped it after realizing I wasn't reading the past 20 chapters. I was scrolling and not even skimming. Each character has 2 names and I can't differentiate who is who when they it all sound so similar. I understand the novel is supposed to be sweet and sugar (that's what I drew me into this novel) but the fluff filter in this novel is too strong. Everyone is acting like a cutesy little fluff-ball. I wanted to keep going to watch the romance develop but I can't anymore.

I agree with puregarnet, the translation really numbed my initial excitement of reading this novel.

I love these slice of life futuristic 'raise a morphing animal' type novel, but this one was just bland. I don't get why there were so many emotes in the beginning of the chapters and afterwards there was no more, was this a tler's personal touch? It's weird.

The flow of the novel is also weird. All in all, I don't like it.

It's very sweet and I love the interactions between all the comrades. Especially when they're in child form! But it feels like there's no conflict besides "oh no, I'm sick!" with the solution of "don't worry, I'll cure you!". And honestly, that's not too much of a letdown for me, I like the slice of life vibes it gives me, it just is very slow. Incredibly so. So much that waiting for the next chapter doesn't give you any motivation to read it. But at the same time I love... more>> the little price and the animal band! <<less
