[The Eternal Scattering Flowers: Fiore Caduto Eterna] is a game ill-suited of being known as a galge, as the main heroine would – regardless of the chosen route – meet her demise.

Fudou Niito, a resident of Japan, went to bed dissatisfied with the ending of the game. When he next awoke, he found himself in the body of the game’s hated fake saint, Elrise.

Confused, but with an understanding that Elrise’s actions would spell disaster for many lives in the future, he took advantage of the situation and acted to change the course of history.

As a result, despite her rotten personality, Elrise was adored by those around her as a perfect saint. Furthermore, the game itself was intrinsically linked to his original world and changed accordingly to suit Elrise’s actions. Without any knowledge of what the hell was going on, the fake saint Elrise continued to alter her fate.

A saint on the outside, but a man on the inside.

The transmigrator was a piece of sh*t and the person he transmigrated into was also a piece of shit. A combination of sh*t and sh*t would cause an accident – to create the greatest fake saint sh*tshow of the year!

My gosh, this novel is so unique and funny. While no harem was a plus for me, I thought the no romance (besides some side cp in extras) would be a downer. But nope! Surprisingly, the gender bender of this very weird guy, our MC, carried this novel from start to finish. Honestly, MC should get an Oscar for his acting skills lol! He saw that he looked like a cute, angelic girl so he acted like a saint. Who would’ve known she (he) was a fake saint that would... more>> become the strongest and most saint-like existence out of all the world’s other saints haha.

Great comedy and great ending. A lot of the mysteries presented throughout the novel eventually gets revealed and explained. Definitely a fun read I would recommend, and the extras were satisfying too. <<less

It's a fun adventure with a guy that ships the MC and heroine so much that he commits mass genocide on their enemies so they would be free to romance each other only to break the story by becoming the main heroine. I highly recommend it

It's pretty good and a well completed story. They even included an after story which is such a plus in my book.

However, a few times at the beginning, I sincerely considered dropping it before I even finished chapter 1 just because of how it was written. It feels like a writing more fit to partner with an illustration so it wouldn't sound so awkward. You can really see the author's skills growing with each few chapters so that was tolerable. But I'm glad I held on because I was able... more>> to see the story of Elrise, and it is such a story solid enough and interesting enough that you wouldn't expect from how it was written.

So for those put off by it, it will get better later on. <<less

Very fun story. The end parts are certainly better than the start, but I would attribute that more the the end parts being really good, rather than the beginning being in any way bad. The entire story is enjoyable and although obviously not perfect, I don't think I would want anything to be changed.

This story was clearly planned out, and it was planned out well. The ending is very satisfying and the short after-stories make the story ending not as frustrating (which is good because it is only 88 chapters,... more>> so most people will end up finishing it). <<less

It's like tasteless food.

She doesn't grow as a person nor has anything you could learn from.

Spoiler

(I'm kinda tired of the frase "shity saint")

[collapse]

I mean when I read a novel. I hope to learn something new or (if a find a true masterpiece) that can change my way to see the world. Like [Reverend Insanity] who changed my very core (not recommended if you have a weak heart).

And you see, I didn't learn something from here!!. I don't have a god-like talent to brag about, she is the same form beginning to end (so she doesn't grow) and her personality is not so great so you can take it as an example.

There's is a conversation form other novel: A and B talking.

A - ¿What happens if a lunatic gained power?

B - He (she) became an idol.

A - !?... So you finally have gone senile, old man

B - hahaha!. Think about it. If a guy kills 4 people, his a mu*der. But if he keeps killing up to hundreds. He became a simbol. That's how the war heroes are born.

B - People throw stones to a mu*der, but they bow their heads to the ground in front of an idol of fear not different from a leyend.

...

And that's it. That's how I feel about this novel. She is just strong enough to be an idol of hope. But there's nothing to learn about here.

Well maybe I'm the weird one here. But that's how I feel. Good night. <<less

A well-written coherent RPG-like story that kept me flipping the pages from the beginning until the end. The various tropes are used just the right amount to make the story interesting but not overused to the point that it's boring. The various themes are mysterious are well thought out and revealed. (The misunderstanding was maybe reaching into the over-use territory at first, but it got toned down in the latter part of the story.)

With that much praise, why 4 star instead of 5 stars? I've thought a lot about... more>> it and I think the best way to put it is, if you're looking to kill time, it's a great story to read, but if you don't read it, you're not really missing out on anything. Perhaps it's because there's nothing unique about the story. I just don't feel that invested in the character or the world (that matches the MC's mentality though, so it could've been deliberate). <<less

I didn't think I'd like this story as much as I did when I first read it, but I'd give it a 4.5. The first person monologue was quite annoying at first. Especially the first 2 chapters which looked like nothing more than lazy writing. The author skipped ahead 14 years in just 2 chapters and with just a few paragraphs each, briefly gave the backstory and introduction of many of the side characters. I wish there was a bit more effort in fleshing out the the beginning of the... more>> story instead of glossing it over and then recounting "Oh this and that happened. Also that happened", in the first person monologue of the main character. But I must say, I think the writing get's better (either that or you get used to it, like a certain priestess accompanying a certain goblin fanatic said).

So why the 4.5 star rating despite what looked like an appalling start? It's because I loved the story and how it turned out to be much grander than it first appeared. Like a rough gem that was polished, this story got much better. It is by no means perfect but I personally think the skills of the author improved over time as reflected in his writing. The first person monologue of the main character might be the weakest part of this story because of how annoying it can be sometimes, but it reflects on the true character of the the protagonist. As with all stories using the "misunderstanding" trope, the best part of this story is in the perspective of the other characters who do not know of the truth. We can quite clearly see how the main characters actions in their first person monologue is perceived by those around them and this is what made me think that the annoying first person monologue was actually alright.

Not only this, the story improves. What at first looked like a story that can be lazily finished in just 10 chapters if the author wanted to, managed to evolve into wonderful adventure spanning 86 chapters with many side stories taking place after the end of the main story (we can see the world after the end, which helps fill the gaping hole in ones heart they often feel when they finish a story). The author managed to add in many twists and turns that most of us probably wouldn't have expected which improved and made the story much more interesting. At some point, you just want to carry on reading because you are interested in what happens next. It's is a slow start, but if you manage to get past the first few chapters I think you would find that this story would turn out to be something worth your time. <<less

Ah I can't anymore, I'm bored. Too bored. The comedy is all about the inner monologue and it's just tiring reading it. As for the story, I know it's just 18 chapters but for the whole 18 chaps only less than 1/3 of the content I found alright and the rest aren't necessary at all, for each chapter the author will explain before the real story begin which is very cumbersome chore. It will probably get good later but what chapter? 60? 70? I can't. (read DemitR review) ... more>>

It's a story where you need to read all the boring explanations, torture your brain and endure the boredom before you get to enjoy the story. It's like opening a mystery gift box but there's a shitton of gift wrapper over it you need to remove and unwrap it first before you see whats inside and worst thing is you don't even know if whats inside is worth your time. I won't participate in this mystery gift opening which might take half of the whole novel to kick in. Do svidanya ~ <<less

excellent, normally the first person perspective of Japanese LN is too jarring for me, a Chinese WN lover, but this one makes it work. Kudos to the translation team and the writer. Excellent plot and misunderstandings

Story heavily relies on misunderstanding, a typical Japanese trope. Constant rambling thoughts about what a typical villain should be then doing the exact opposite is a niche in JP webnovels. Most All developments are predictable in this novel. You can see the upcoming premise from miles away led by surprise surprise a typical misunderstanding.

I love this story but it does get annoying when MC doesn't get that they are changing the plot by not being a villainess but then expects that the story will be same as the game they played.

This is pure gold, that perfectly combines comedy and tragedy.

Unlike so-called 'Nakige' (cry games), it doesn't employ the strict structure and overload of premises and coincidences along with a quick pace (after a slow comedy intro).

It's well-written instead, with proper world building and development based on a single premise.

This is one of the best stories I have ever read.

There is nothing in this story that I find lacking.

The world-building is insane. Most of the world-building is focused on the Saint-Witch cycle, and uncovering the mystery behind it. There is no plot holes, no loose ends, or anything that lefts you unsatisfied. All the informations connects with each other, and wraps around nicely.

The characters are very good. The character development for several characters are also very good, especially for the MC. The MC is incredibly well-written. While at first,... more>> he might just seem like a generic dumb MC, but as the story goes on, more and more of her got explored. And as she interacted with the characters around her, she herself also undergoes significant amount of character development. The villains are incredibly well-done. All of the have a reason for doing the things they do. None of them are truly evil, some makes you even sympathize with them.

The plot is so good that there is practically no words to describe how good it is. The story makes you go through a rollercoaster of despair and hope. It is absolutely tragic watching the reactions of the side characters. The foreshadows are insane. The build-up is insane. The climax of each arc makes it feel like you are hit with a truckload of feels. Especially during the last quarter of the novel. Everything starts coming to an end, it felt as if each arc serves as a build-up towards the final quarter. The author ramps up the feels meter to %1000 and hit you with it at max power.

And also the ending. It is legit one of the best endings I've ever seen. Everything wraps around so well, you aren't left with anything you are unsatisfied with. The feels hit you at an all time high. I do not know how many times that I have to pause and rest because I got hit by too much feels and kept on reading the same sentences over and over again.

I honestly did not expect this novel to be written so well, but I'm glad it did. It is one of the best novels I've ever read. Insane world-building, well-written characters, well-structured plot, good pacing, and a plethora of tear-jerking feels. I 100% recommend this. You won't regret reading this.

btw Supple Ment best character <<less

This should be a text book example of how to write a story. You should read every thing, all of the extra inclued. The author know how to use the extra to develop a wolrd we havent learned much of. Dont be distraughted by chapter 35, she would break her way out anyway and only didnt due to plot. The only negative is out side the main cast, the sub cast are underdeveloped so we know about them less than we know about the world. This negative is easily fix... more>> if more extra to develop them in the future <<less

First of all I wanted to cry for being able to finish this masterpiece. This is a novel that is neither too light nor too heavy, y'get what I mean? It has its fair share of comedy, let alone drama and tragedy. It was so good for binge-reading! Honestly, I started reading this at 5:00 pm and ended up finishing at 4:00 am. See how good it was? I don't stay up late for nothing.

It has no filler. It doesn't feed you BS and goes straight to the point, you... more>> could actually read the plot moving FORWARD.

Sure, the first few chapter were really cliche. But boy oh boy, when you get to the mid-part? Buckle up, because you're in for a rollercoaster ride. You're gonna laugh, you're gonna cry, you're gonna be amazed and you'll be intrigued about how the MC would solve things.

And one more thing I like about this, NO CHARACTER IS IREDEEMABLE. Not the OriFL, not anyone. <<less

At first I couldn't adapt to the author’s writing style it felt close and personal and it honestly made me uncomfortable since I'm used to feeling it is fiction. When Niita the MC turned into the fake saintess Elrise he maintained his original personality looking down on others who were weaker or slightly incompetent compared to himself the OP Saint-sama. He would do it feeling exhilarated at his never-before-seen power and would get deep in the act of being a Saint whowas endlessly forgiving and all merciful to anyone within... more>> ’her’ reach.

I really liked this novel because of how much effort the author pays into explaining every single mystery delving into plot holes and patching them all up with logical reasoning and various theories using otaku knowledge from other times and spaces (manga, anime, otaku specialties) which made sense considering that Niito, after all, has been an otaku since the very beginning and in fact his sense of fiction and reality which he lacked made him feel less of a line of thinking that others would consider logical and this sense of realty is ironically built in what he had supposed was a fictional world. This author did an excellent job in making the personas more 3-D by adding several POV's. If anything it's the MC who tends to understate his actions as he sees it as a routine but from a spectators view we as readers can understand what was happening outside of the MC’s unreliable narration. <<less
