By some ill fortune, Hikaru died in a traffic accident. He was in heaven standing in line, waiting to be judged, when he took an unexpected request to transfer his soul to a person in another world. He received an ability called Soul Board which he could use to allocate points to Skills to make himself more powerful.

But there was a catch…

「I want you to take revenge on someone for me within an hour. If you don’t, I’ll destroy your soul.」

To pull off the task assigned to him, he poured all his available points to the Stealth skill tree.

This is a story of a boy who specialized in Stealth. With his skill trees as weapons, he would demonstrate his unrivaled strength in another world.

The story started off as pretty interesting, a protag who is arrogant and knows how to refuse people. By the end of the 1st volume, he became the nemesis of his own ideals.

Spoiler

Basically, he agrees to be in a relationship just because the FL says she is his property and kisses him. His reasoning crumbles by just that much. There were other girls who were "actually trying" were rejected in a arrogant manner, but he straight up wimps when it's the fl.

It felt that the author was trying to give a "goal" to the MC and so pushed the "saving my lover" kind of goal at the end.

[collapse]

Idk if this should be even be called a "Early romance", the kind of development to build a relationship was no better than a bland hentai. The MC feels like a hypocrite.

Even though the chapters I've read aren't that many chapters, but with the kind of pace it was going downhill, I couldn't read anymore. IDK how the romance turns out to be later on (which is anyway going to be two cheesy lines) the kind of start it has left me thinking if it should be even considered one. <<less

To be honest I'm torn as to how high of a rating this gets. 4 stars seems a bit generous but if we say the typical Japanese Isekai is a 3 star then I think this is slightly above that. Now if you absolutly hate typical Japanese Isekai stories then no, you arent going to like this at all. If you can tolorate them but they aren't your favorite then you may be able to get through this but no promises. If you like those kinds of stories then I... more>> feel like you will like this as well. I know a lot of people have issues with how Japanese novels deal with conflict, character growth, and tropes, and I honestly get it. But if you started reading a Isekai... written in Japan... and expected it to not follow that trend... then I honestly don't know what to tell you.

The author is decent. The characters aren't super unique by any means. They are actually pretty close to your typical characters you usually get with a little tweaking here and there. The main character fronts like he is the opposite of your typical Japanese MC which is a decent attempt if nothing else by the author. It does make him seem pretty hypocritical at time though. The ability system clearly has some thought put into it. It's easy to understand and has enough substance to allow for a wide range of abilities while remaining consistant enough that it feel coherent. I will say that the world building seems..... average.... at best. Also the descriptions of the world around the main character are about average as well. There is a few instances where locations are described in relation to one another so you get a vague sense of how the world looks. But the details are seriously lacking. You know that feeling when you are reading a novel and you feel like you are there? The towns feel real, you can picture exactly how the building look. The forests are vivid, you know how the trees look, how the forest floor looks what kinds of ambient sounds are around. In a tense scene you feel the tensioin from the fog in the air and the MC's hair rising in fear and anticipation of the unknown, looming ever present in every direction..... Yeahhh you don't really get that with this novel. It's definatly not the worst I've ever read but it could be so much better.

A few things that other people have mentioned but I think are still important to note. This isnt exactly a harem but threre are harem teases pretty consitatly. If you hate harems then you are going to have a hard time with this one althought I feel like it doesn't exactly fit into that category, it rather dances on the edge of it just falling on the opposite side of the line. Also, by western world standards they are children, in a physically romantic relationship. It's something that I dont think will ever translate well to a western audience and it does get pretty awkward reading some of the scenes with that in mind.

At this point in time I am caught up to the translation and I have to admit, I think I'm done with this one. In my opinion it was decent and I don't regret reading it. But, I'm also not waiting around for it to update so I can continue. If you like Japanese Isekai novels then I say yes, go ahead and read it you could very easily do worse. If you have issues with how Japanese novels play out in general or hate the harem trope then I would heavily advise you to just move on. <<less

Well the story ticks many of isekai positive characteristics box: world built-up, level system, etc,...

However, there exists many down sides as well. From my perspective, despite the level system being original, it's not logical. All characters tends to behave childish when the MC is around even though they are described as responsible, calculative,...

Still I will give credits that every arcs up until 160 is written with plans ahead, the execution is well enough so that the story keeps develop at a reasonable pace and not get stagnant.

In summary, 2 points... more>> if u r a picky reader, 4 points if u just want sth decent and somewhat original, 3 points on average for anyone who are in search for an entertaining story. <<less

This was very good at the beginning and I loved how the MC maxed out his stealth stats but it started getting boring later. He got more idiotic as time went on and he didn´t care if people found out he was different. He almost told his secret to a girl he knew for less than a week and only didn´t because she wanted to be treated unequally as a s*ave. That was really where it started going downhill I think.

It is not the best Isekai I have read, but it is nice.

A good system that does not make the protagonist special (Everyone can be OP) only that it can change the construction advantages.

The protagonist is okay, he is kinda smart, the heroine is a bit empty at first, but she gets develop, but the cast for me improved when ... more>>

you get to the academy, I really like politics and the characters were a little good in that point

The construction of the world is around 6/10, I would say for now... simple and not very deep

It starts off well enough, but then it gets stuck in what feels like endless chapters discussing politics. It's not that I'm specifically against political intrigue, but it does such a piss poor job at it. Tbh, I was pretty hype for this series when it first started being translated. But every chapter at this point is just further disappointment. Maybe it'll pick back up later.

Okay first, The MC... He is a theft with assassin kind of power, An assassin.. But his motto in life be like (I will never kill anyone even if that someone kidnap my girl, or if that someone throw someone to a bunch of orc to get killed/raped, I will still not kill him) that kind of character. Which really irritate me.. I mean seriously author ? why do heck are you writing a novel about assassin/theft when the MC is wimpy shit.

And if you like an MC who... more>> is an idiot that will say the name of his lover repeatedly in front of strangers where in his lover is in fact a wanted by the kingdom and the king want to finds her to control her power or something. Then go ahead read this. <<less

  1. The novel's world building is good, the way to use the plot Armor called Soul Board (status panel) is also quite cleverly designed.
  2. The beginning was clearly confusing if you are the type of reader who persue logic, because
    Spoiler

A guy named Roland from the other world contacts the MC who just died and waiting for his soul to enter whatever version of afterlife with a transdimentional spell... Come on, if he was so intelligent as to learn a magic that literally considered lost in the world but got himself killed by people sent by Count doesn't make any sense. But he might have an olterior motive if he shows up in future chapters.

    [collapse]
  3. The changes in MC's personality is very, how to say it, abberrant.
    Spoiler

MC first gets flirted by 2 of guild receptionists then the hotel receptionist with cat ears and then by the perv healer from the noob party to which his reaction was to ignore their advances but then he gets so smitten by this Lavis girl which is complete bonkers. Don't get me wrong I love romance and all but it should be understandable and relatable.

    [collapse]
  4. Most obvious mistake in the characters that I have read so far all of them beleive that MC is awesome and he can do stuff that no one can and granted it's true for some aspect but what doesn't nake sense is that there is no conflict of interest to the mc's pov.
    Spoiler

you beat up the instructor- MC's super op!, Beat multiple people from that instructor's class- MC's great, blackmail the instructor to teach him shortsword - MC's great, etc etc. You get the point. Without a conflict of interest there will be no developments at all. The reason he became so unbalanced it's because he had to survive and now that he is done that there is nothing stopping him from doing whatever the heck he wants but he follows others like they were his trusted childhood friend.

    [collapse]
  5. After all this rant I still suggest you give it read because these are my opinions and yours may vary from mine.

The world feels 'real', it's vast and I love that you don't get spoon fed explanations and that the MC doesn't magically find out everything he wants to. The characters feel believable enough so far and most uncharacteristic things they do are usually for the sake of comedy, so not much to fault there.

My rating is 4.5/5. This novel deserves and will get more attention

It's hard to explain why, but I just can't stop reading it. It's probably one of the most interesting WN I've read recently. I was expecting the typical virg*n dense harem protagonist bs because of the shounen tag, but I was completely wrong. Yes, there might not be hardcore s*x scenes but at least the way the romance develops between him and the heroine makes sense and it's quite cute.

The author sometimes play a bit with the isekai genre cliches, you all know what I'm talking about. Even so, it... more>> doesn't feel cliche at all. The approach the author has towards them feels almost always fresh and innovative.

I definitely recommend giving it a try. <<less

It's starts just like a usual isekai novel, but I think that that the story's goes on a different path than a normal isekai.

The MC is OP, but it's not. He is really smart and don't act like the innocent know nothing MC.

And thank u Light Novels Translations for the translations!

Review up to ch 12.

The novel looks promising there's no main heroine yet. So far the MC is not a pe*vert. But I prefer if he takes the initiative tho. Its easy to read and understand 10/10 for the translator. Although there's no harem tag "Yet" most likely this novel will turn to be a harem with herbivore MC hope not. So far so good.

I like the novel and it should be a 4 stars, but I have to take one down because the MC is insufferable and an hypocrite, despite having status board, he barely tries to improve his status and is pretty weak outside his stealth, any stray magic could instant kill him from how paper thin his defenses are, his whole build is a stealth shooter, yet he never kills (the count was the mage), but, worst of all, he acts all high and mighty saying he doesn't want to mess... more>> with other people problems and politics, so his cheats is not noticed, yet in every occasion he provokes other people for minor grievances, dragging other people attention, when there's problems he goes all tsundere and saying I don't care about you and then goes every night working like a rat snooping information for his schemes and gets dragged in more problems, rise and repeat. <<less

Several of his soul board blessings are also never used at all, despite having some interesting names. And the political conflicts aren't resolved either.

It starts off with a fairly promising premise, but several things keep me from enjoying it.

For starters, the MC has an OP power that lets him upgrade any stat or skill of his choice every time he levels up (everyone else can only get stronger through training and experience even after leveling up). Yet, he doesn't bother grinding levels aside from a bit at the start, and he skews his investment so heavily towards stealth and marksmanship without bothering to increase his overall strength whatsoever. He could have been strong... more>> enough to bulldoze any enemy by now but instead has to rely on sneaking around because of the way he spent his points and his lack of proactiveness in hunting monsters.

The MC has travelled around most of the continent without trying to level up at all despite the fact there are many people with a higher level than him. I kept reading in the hopes he would eventually start to grind and get stronger, but that's still yet to happen.

Another thing that irks me is the MC's no killing rule that he made up for himself. His entire skillset is optimised around assassination yet he refuses to take any lives, even of scum that only cause harm to the world. He could have solved several issues far more easily if not for that.

Overall it's still a good enough novel to pass time if you can get past those things, but I'm afraid my patience has run out. <<less

I can't be bothered writing a detailed review, so I'll just write everything bad from my perspective.

The only thing I know about the MC is that his name is Hikaru, he's Japanese, he doesn't like his family, he was PROBABLY above the age of 18 and he was PROBABLY an office worker, but you'll never know, because the author never gives anything concrete early on, or at least memorable.

The only intelligent choice he makes is to max out Imperceptibility. Everything after this is either understandable, or 3 year old levels... more>> of intelligence.
Spoiler

The main thing that sticks out to me, is that, when he's running away from a giant, a soldier used by gods, he decides to instead of, I don't know, upgrading his stealth skills so it can't spot him, he uses a goddamn revolver he's never used before after upgrading throwing to 10

[collapse]

He has little to no motivation and acts like a smartass to everybody he meets, doesn't have any idea how to say "No, I do not want to do that." all he does is just ignore it, make some dumbass arrogant statement, or just beating them up.

Here's a quick list of s*upid things he's done:
Notices the Knight Captain is really strong so what does he do? Leave? No, I must test my strength so I don't die! (Despite admitting he could die from fighting him.) He cuts the Captain's Jugular and then saves the princess who was falling due to the Captain's swing.

He doesn't upgrade his sneak skills at all, except for when he wants to save pretty Count's Daughter being carted away, and not when he's being chased by a goddamn giant.

He's over 18 years old and has s*x with a 14 year old.

He kills the count because he has to, and then refuses to kill the people who try to r*pe the Count's daughter.

He talks to the Count before he kills him, giving him time to ring his alarm bell.

So anyway, unless you're only reading up to chapter 40 and then dropping it, I wouldn't recommend it. <<less

After reading this novel I have to say that after decent start it was just rolling downhill. Plot became more and more cliché (girlfriend, adventurers guild, school - rly, school) and less and less interesting. Author literally threw away interesting bits and left uninteresting crap. I often just skimped ober multiple chapters to reach something interesting.

I wonder if something happened to author that made him write a MC that progressively loses his spine and testicles.

As others say he can't pick a code and stick with it with, and the author feels more worried about building fluff stories than giving the readers what happens in the main story line.

If I had read the first 50 chapters I would rate this probably 5/5 or 4/5.

But just 50 chapters later it is down to a 2/5 because the MC has turned into gutless do good with no conviction... more>> to do what should be done.

Spoiler
    1. Starts off with the will to kill even after the initial assassination.
    1. Doesn't kill the knight during the rescue which was understandable.
    1. After saving the knight almost kills the knight captain with a dagger to jugular.
    1. Then when Special Forces catches the two girls, he tortures one to get info ok. But then lest the others go who kidnapped Lavia
    1. Lets go the spy so he can report to the king which he in fact is planning visit
    2. Now his plan to waste all his time to visit the king so he can punch him

Why don't ya just tickle his sack while your at it?

He had the ability to make Lavia stronger for over 90 chapters but never does till last minute. Here I just OPed you so go have fun.

He keeps complaining about not able to withstand Burst but he will not any points into his own stamina...

Just after the Monster subjugation we finally get the Meeting with the 4 girl B rank party that has been teased. Yet

    1. Every question they have "No Comment",
        1. About Lavia
        1. About the Dragon
        1. About the Count.
    1. Then when he might actually talk to the other transfer the Author bails the whole conversation and drops the scene
If all we were going to get was "No Comment" and drop the conversation why did the author even include it.

      All the work for Nothing.

    1. Then few paragraphs later starts a conversation with Lavia and Paula, then drops the conversation.

Wow chapter 238

Paula Loves me she even kissed me so she will can't leave me me

But I will never return her feelings.
