Lee Junghoo died in a car accident. He braved each and every hardship in Jaiden’s body in hopes that he would survive once he cleared the game of the gods, but just when the Empire’s strongest family was about to fall and be killed by the monsters…

[The Beta Test has been completed.] Based on these words, it seemed like he still had another chance.

1 Stop the destruction of the continent.

2 Survive until the age of 35.

He was given these two main quests. He had tried to finish the first one during the beta test. However, he realized that there was no solution to this problem. So this time, he was going to pick the second.

And the first step for him to achieve this was to leave this crazy family of his.

“Maybe the answer is running away from home?”

It's not a bad series. If you're bored and have nothing else to read this is sufficient to get you through. My issue with it is the logic is a bit flimsy at times. It's nothing too immersion breaking but it'll make you ask why something is happening. That's one star off but the other one is for jjambap. I don't understand why it's brought up so much. It's like the author joined the military 30 years ago and the only thing he can remember was that. It's like if... more>> someone watched Naruto and now they say, "I'll be the one who becomes Hokage" instead of just saying they were better than everyone else. Surely there must be other references you can make, dear lord. I hate to admit it but honestly I couldn't take another jjambap reference and that's what killed the series for me. But others will have stronger stomachs for it and if you can stomach it then you'll have a decent time. <<less

the story is a good plot, MC is okay not too OP from the beginning. But it’s kind of repetitive. It’s full of wars and wars neverending, some political conspiracies. Well overall it’s good but sometimes you may be bored

The novel had great potential but ended up falling flat.

At the beginning it started out with him weak and wanting to survive

Spoiler

Which s why he had to go to the military (school)

[collapse]

But at a certain point that changed.
Spoiler

When he was turned to stone for two years

[collapse]

It just became a continuous repeat of "He fights against an opponent so strong that they are at Master (strongest) level! he isn't master! But then he somehow wins anayway" It's repetive, take away from the stakes and usually end up with him fainting.

Any and all injuries taken from these fights? Have no consequences in actual battle. Which just makes it seem like the author doesn't know how to create tension without introducing the next, stronger™ monster.

And while we're at the topic of "monster"

They're (at this point of the novel) a sort of game of russian roulette. But I can't really go into detail without giving spoilers so:

Spoiler

Here's the concept.

A long time before the novel even starts Human eradicated monsters in a big war, why? Fantasy racism, the reason the novel gives is that due to prejudice people didn't believe that these monsters had sentience and all of them were evil. The people who lead this literal witch hunt were the impirial family which is how they came into power and stayed so for atleast a thousand years.

The Impirial Family are introduced as bad guys, not only because all the power they have is from a genoiced but also because they betrayed the MC in the first chapter.

So far so (actually) good.

The monsters that went into hiding in order to escape total annihilation come back and want revenge, in order to do that they made a deal with dark gods, often betraying the good or doing other morally bad things in order to gain the power to whoop ass. It gives them a sense of moral grayness. Their motivation are entirely justified, no questions asked. They way they go on to do their revenge? No so much.

In contrast to that is the MC who also got betrayed by the Impirial family has vocalized his hatred towards them throughout the story quite a bit. His solution is to make the north independent and take the power from the center (impirial power) throughout this war and probably charge them guilty for most of the crimes they have committed.

A long story short he wants revenge without sacrificing his moral in comparision to the monsters.

Making this war quite morally interesting.

The problem I have is that the battlefield introduced until now are all the same

Northeast battle:
-Monster (humanoid) corrupt/take hostage a dive being/thing
-They open a portal for less sentient but op Monsters from the side of the evil gods they are in contract with to come in.
-This is bad because it can literally ruin the Land itself (think fantasy nuke)
-Iron stops this, makes contract/gets help from with said devine being.

Eastern battle:
-Monster (humanoid) corrupt/take hostage a dive being/thing
-They open a portal for less sentient but op Monsters from the side of the evil gods they are in contract with to come in.
-This is bad because it can literally ruin the Land itself (think fantasy nuke)
-Iron stops this, makes contract/gets help from with said devine being.

North battle (until now) :
-Monster (humanoid) corrupt/take hostage a dive being/thing
-They open a portal for less sentient but op Monsters from the side of the evil gods they are in contract with to come in.
-This is bad because it can literally ruin the Land itself (think fantasy nuke)

Of course there are some differences, some even quite important but overarchingly this is how it goes everytime. Pair this with the problem of the power system being used more as a mild suggestion for the MC rather than an actual limitation on who he can fight and win against and who not and every monster being either master (highest) level or being described as "similiar" "close" "or theoretically speaken" to that level.

the monsters are describes as this ultra force that needs to be reckoned with and you can't casually f*ck with and humans are described as being in a situation where they die off too quick making the forces that are actually capable of killing them way too rare to actually make a dent. Meaning more soldats are dying than are being recruited. At this point in the novel humans schould have died out already because this war is not sustainable.

So either the Author suddenly pulls out something that fixes that or this sort of suspension of disbelief is going to ruin what is actually a quite interesting take on "war" in novel.

[collapse]

After all that complaining I have to give the novel it's good point

The characters are actually pretty good.

The MC might faint alot but he has a plan on what he's doing and his personality is not annoying at all.
The side characters aren't overstaying their welcome but rather appear in battle from time to time or when plot relevant.
Since there is no romance (god I hope it stays that way) none of the female characters feel like they are there to be part of some weird harem, you can actually enjoy them just existing as side characters. Whenever they are deep or interesting depends on who you ask but they're not ruining the narrative to deliver fanservice at inappropriate moments, that's for sure.

Could have spent 126 chapters on a worse story that's for sure but I'm still gonna pause this just to see and wait if it gets better or worse... <<less

It’s a good novel! I’ve read a lot of light novels way beyond what my account says because I didn’t make one until I was well into the hobby and just had to review a story. I wish the author spent more time in the school frankly and emphasizing on how his talentless became talent in more detail but otherwise it’s a good novel! It has a few cliches but what novel doesn’t at this point. It also has for now a solid sense of direction and world building something... more>> alot of novels recently have seemingly partly dropped the ball on I really liked Dragon Poor but when they introduced literal pure evil into the story it started to feel wrong and The one with Marvin being a night ranger into quickly advancing super god felt wrong too. I’m not saying either is a bad novel just that if they managed to keep their ideas concise and connected throughout I’m sure both would be alot more loved. <<less

All was brilliant and good.

But it's not my cup of tea. This novel is filled to the brim with events and things going around. It's pure getting stronger and no socialising with others.

I was actually expecting him to have a sort of relationship with that girl right behind him, even a barely existing friendship would have worked too.

I personally prefer books with drama, misunderstanding and such.

The part I liked the best one was when MC was still home and training with his younger brother.

I caught up to the latest chapter and wow, that is one hell of a ride. To be honest, I'm not sure if giving this novel a 5 star is right or not. I gave it because I enjoy it, really. I do enjoy it.

There were a few plot holes here and there, some grammatically thesaurus mistake too but it didn't affect the whole story. And then the users did mention the repetitive words like jjambap (i think) and rolling. Yeah. It gets annoying a bit to the point I... more>> had to rephrase the whole sentence in my head automatically. Buuutt, I still enjoy it.

The story is good and exciting and now I can't wait for the next chapter to come out. Give this a try if u can ignore those mistakes and take the whole story for what it is given. <<less

Gonna agree with Vandille. The character in this story felt kind of shallow and lack of depth. Quite fun at first but it going downhill in later chapter. In simple word, the story is boring.

It is too heavy on military part and neglected the other part like magic system, world building or character depth. Lost interest now and I don't think I ever touch this novel again.

The story's pretty good, and so is the pacing. The MC uses his head a lot, even if it's a bit forced how he knows the perfect solution to everything because of his regression.

There's a few problems with it, like how everyone treats the MC's opinions seriously from the get-go, or how they never properly question the MC's source of knowledge, but other than that, it's a fun read. I did have to pretend the MC was older than he actually was to keep reading though. Imagining a 12 year... more>> old kid berating a group of older men didn't really do it for me.

As a side note, if you decide to read this, I suggest getting used to the terms rolling and jjambap as soon as you can. The translator tries their very best to use those two terms as often as possible. <<less

Would've actually enjoyed the novel if the words and the plot weren't repetitive 🙄🙄 (͡°Ĺ̯ ͡°) Like 'Iron smiled bitterly' was used so many times that I kinda got irritated. Couldn't the author use other words, expressions to describe the ml's and character's emotions? This was one of the reasons why the characters didn't seem 'real' and also couldn't touch me.

The plot? Please (͡° ʖ̯ ͡°) It was just a repeat of ongoing destruction that the ML had to prevent. Like sealing, fighting the enemies, ML getting hurt,... more>> him becoming the hero gaining people's respect, the destruction again with the same cycle (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵) It got boring in short. Very boring and disappointing, after all I had my expectations up high. (╯︵╰) <<less

Well, I surely disagree with the above reviews. It's a awesome isekai novel for me. Well, it is fast paced, but I really enjoyed it. It has just the amount of humour it needed.

Our MC is OP type of character, but he is not OP from the start. He had his own struggles, he worked hard and tried to stop the monsters.

Though, I was so shocked with pace, I got used to it. The length of the chapters was also long and good. Though there is still atleast ~140 more... more>> chapters for me to read, I can only imagine how much the plot is gonna progress, I mean it's super fast paced then so many arcs are gonna come. I can't wait.

I just wish the translation would be faster, but woop read translate so many novels I can just wait for its turn. <<less

This is your typical transmigration and regression novel. But it to center around the MC he's too strong, smart whatever kind of praise your can think of name it, the side characters are 2 dimensional admiring the MC all day long and being his supporters or subordinates or stepping stones seems like the purpose of there existence. The world building isn't perfected enough and the story is too repetitive. For some reason I'm still reading this despite all what's been mentioned above it's what I hate about every Novel. But... more>> nonetheless if you can ignore that and focus on the story itself it's a good read. It just the translation is taking too long.

My Rating Is My Honest Opinion: 4★ <<less

Honestly it has potential to be interesting, but it's unfortunately marred by questionable pacing, and poor set up. It quickly becomes stale and boring.

So the gist of it is that Jaiden a reincarnator, previously a dude from korea, lived through a hellish life after being selected to participate in the god games, they really don't explain this at all so your just supposed to go "oh ok" and move on. Fine. Anyway, at the end of this life fighting hordes of monsters and suffering from his sub par talents he... more>> curses fate then dies. A message pops up saying grats you cleared the beta time for round 2 but now you gotta survive longer than in round 1. So he gets into round 2 of the god games, at age 9 much earlier than the previous run, a gift for surviving the beta, and quickly formulates a plan to survive. He decides to help the one sane person in his family of psychopaths, his youngest brother, who has the most talent of all of them in the hopes that he will be able to reign in the family and their dukedom better than he or his sibling could. Once hes done he is determined to join the military and escape.

After he decides his work is done helping his brother, Jaiden leaves to join a highly questionable military program which exists to turn orphans and children with complicated pasts into bloodthirsty child soldiers or in their words "weapons of war". At this point everyone who has entered this program is now reduced to a number for their identity, and are sent through a strict if not just plain abusive training hell.

Upon completing the basic training, this is where the wheels really start to fall off, everyone says their goodbyes and goes their separate ways. Our boy Jaiden of course decides to go to the harshest training academy in the program, where its not uncommon for these preteens to die horribly via monsters. What follows next is an extremely long winded and equally boring series of chapters focused on Jaiden's academy days featuring an infuriating amount of references to "rolling" the act of giving the lower ranks sh*t so they grow tough and not prideful and "eating jjambap" which is a roundabout way to reference serving time in the military. These two references can be seen multiple times per chapter to the point it will almost certainly start to annoy you. (Like seriously up to 16 times a chapter, it's bad.)

As stated before the academy is just.. Incredibly boring. Honestly it'd be better with a time skip and a brief exposition about the time spent and skills honed. The characters are forgettable thanks to everyone going by a number based on rank. There is absolutely nothing in this 20ish chapter arc to care about whatsoever, it has like 1 scene that was kind of interesting. Really this whole part just felt like an absolute waste of time.

Finally after reading through this I was excited to see something cool but no the author decided to do an equally boring arc to follow-up after that I gave up.

There are tons of characters and yet none of them seem to matter at all. The world is large but totally unexplained, even where the story is taking place is still largely a mystery. Things are just happening and everything feels shoddily slapped together.

This series does have some promise, and could lead to something cool but after 40 straight chapters of eating jammbap lines and rolling I just couldn't anymore. The progress is so slow its tedious and coupled with the incredibly repetitive writing style it's just not worth it to find out. There are tons of other stories out there and this one doesn't do anything to pull me in after the initial hook in chapter 1. <<less

No characters. No dialogue. No proper story. Should I call it a training diary? It was already troubling for me not to see anything even resembling romance among the tags, but there is no human interaction at all, author is just telling about events in order, with mediocre writing at that. At this point it feels like a soulless wall of text, so I will stop.

If you don't like people, but you like swords, training and main character being good at everything, you should enjoy it, probably.

Totally recommend this novel.. You thought this going to be a millitary novel? You right but wrong at the same time..... There more spice!

MC is the last beta tester from Real Life Isekai game that I called it... And he regressed!

The lack of romance might bored you with there only 1 female character the whole story but the PLOT! The real plot will keep you reading

I’ll be honest at first it was about him persevering through hardships but as it went on it eventually became Iorn is the greatest he can do anything and constantly getting ridiculous power ups. It’s to the point where I think the author was rushed to put out a chapter every day because it feels so unfleshed out like the beginning chapters. I just feel that the novelty of constantly powering up with no prelude to suddenly overcome the odds is just bad writing.

The author of this story does decently well with character design, and can write interesting individual scenes, but is clearly making it up as they go along without an overarching plot outline and it shows. Once you get past the first two arcs, the story starts to flounder; we find out that the main character has been experiencing difficulties with their cultivation in the same chapter as that difficulty is resolved, for instance, and a long timeskip occurs without major impacts on the character's relationships or major changes to the... more>> state of the world. The central conceit of the world being a game world is abandoned for dozens of chapters, then is just as abruptly re-introduced as the author remembers their story's premise.

A decent read, especially in the beginning, but don't feel guilty about putting it down if it starts to bore you. <<less

Spoiler

5/5 starting story arc, up until where the MC becomes a ghost.

Before it, the story is basically a well-written academy training arc for KR modern fantasy novels. Somewhat lacking character development, but the story itself and the actions the MC takes are quite interesting to read.

After becoming a ghost, a secret special force, there is barely any training. It also turns into those "overpowered MC hides his strength" tropes, which I personally hate when not done to perfection. But if you're up for that... it changes soon afterwards.

By ch.67, which is where I dropped the novel, the main focus of this story changes once again. It turns into a poorly written political novel, obviously building up the story for the "big fight" between dark elves/dimensional monsters and humans. BUUUT it's so boring and provides little to no entertainment.

This novel starts off strong, but fails to tailor its story to one type of audience. You like weak-to-strong? you have it for the first few chapters. You like OPMC hides strength? you have it for a few chapters. You like politics? AAAND You get my point. (Keep in mind that these chapters are normal length chapters, not like SCOG)

I know this is an issue most long novels face, but the fact that it occurs at such a high pace refrains me from recommending this read. If you know you'll enjoy every trope of a modern fantasy KR novel, go for it. Personally, I'll stick to something a little more consistent.

So far, I'm still at the latest (chap 75 atm)

The story is good. The cliché that I can tolerate. The cliché that is different from my clichéd mind LOL, sometimes I predict what will happen, like maybe he'll do this because other protagonist do that but then he'll do the other that isn't common, but not rare.

I'm just annoyed at the jjambap . IT'S ANNOYING. I know it was the original author's intention to use that slang, but WTF it's annoying.

Nevertheless, the story is still good. Can't wait for... more>> another divine beast, more interactions with his comrades, friends, and family. No to romance just yet, the fvcking God game is now starting at chapter 76. <<less

I dont why korean author so obsessed with kind of PUSHOVER MC like this, it's so painfull to read story where author literally write down everything from MC's mind. It's painfull to read.

Who the hell want to know MC mind, thinking lot of if, it this, if that, if then, blablabla... Fvck sake just tell what MC did, not what MC think for god's sake

.

And another one is just general problem where most korean author is so obsessed with hiding his real identity. In this case novel, MC really doesn't... more>> have any reason to hide his real identity like wtf so pushover to hide his name.

.

And another one is, author made MC timeskip too much. Time skip because of sleep or faint bcs the aftermath of the battle. Yes its like to nerf the MC. This is the another problem of korean, keep nerfing MC so they can continue the story. DAMNN <<less

This story had great potential, but it seems like the author just threw in random plot points without proper development. The characters and world building were lacking, and the story became clichéd and boring. It's a shame that what was thought to be a diamond turned out to be a fake. I would give it a rating of 1 out of 5, with the only redeeming factor being that the main storyline was somewhat interesting.
