It was a short moment of happiness to find that I was transferred to world of a game that I had been playing for many years. I had been transferred to Sota Narumi, a villain character who is fat enough to be mistaken for a pig.

Even though it is a game world where you can enjoy romance in a school full of beautiful men and women, he is called “Butao” and his school life is filled with comtempt from his classmates. If I proceed according to the story as it is progresses, I will be abandoned by my fiancée and childhood friend, and in the end I will be forced to drop out.

I will never give up even in such a dire situation! Eventually I will build a harem and become a top adventurer!

This is the story of a man who will become unrivalled in both love and dungeons.

The self-doubting protagonist of Accel World in the stats, sword and sorcery style of Sword Art Online who somehow gets surrounded by elite school characters and big families like Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei.

Would have been more interesting if there wasn't already a similar story: Iserebe (I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too).

The story is best when it involved family, but the MC keeps crossing paths and tripping over this or that influential or high profile figure and quickly gets entangled with... more>> school and even clan-level political power plays... all the while trying to stay under the radar as a bullied, overweight student.

At least the publicly available 130+ WN chapters are easy to breeze past using MTL. <<less

Usually these "RPG high school" novels focus mostly on

powers > harem >>>> everything else

The divergence from the norm here is the amount of world building committed. A lot of situations are fleshed out and it feels like this could of been a real video game. However due to this those few inconstancies stand out even more (What even is Class-E). Worth your time and I hope it continues to evolve into something great.

This is pretty wack. The MC has a s*upid mentality and doesn't do anything when the higher class people does something to them. A LOT of useless information, so I skipped around here and there quite a bit cuz it won't matter if I do. Might get better later but right now kinda dog tbh. Also translation lil wack, the pronouns for a character switches out of nowhere, they could be using "he"to describe the MC and the line right after they'll be using she and stuff. So when a... more>> new character pops up you'll be confused bout their gender til like the end of the chapter. And some people say that he's playing it safe, which is a good idea but, there's a limit to how safe he has to play. Homie be bringing 5 handguns, 10 dynamites, and a f*cking holy sword just to beat an ant, that's size of a pea. Him doing that "safe play" just really irks me, so I probably be putting this on hold until further notice. <<less

So far it is more focused on Dungeon raids and level ups for MC and I didn't see on Harem and romance based on tags because its in the early part of the story was that heroines was neglected I hope for the upcoming more updates it is must be justified and build up more romance relationship despite that his attitude was more on self improvement and maturistic attidude.

Spoiler

[MC using common sense knowledge like hiding and monopolizing the game knowledge and that he was a transmigator and has many game knowledge because he would likely hunted by the same transmigators and government and clans so he want to avoid conflict as much as possible and he was avoiding MainChara and its harem and ignoring them well which is rational because he wants to avoid problems as much as possible. He trusted no one aside from his in game (Character) family. Well for me I want to see more romance development because he was too much immeresed on Leveling thats all. Almost 80 percent of the story about leveling and dungeon raids so far]

Nothing special. Same as those harem stories

but if you're a scavenger of this type of stories, this will be a palace to dig for. I am, that's why I'm enjoying it. The author slacked at the world-building part by introducing jp layout otherworld. But he wrote the story with care. Plot iS engaging. Usually, I don't read the grind part cz it's just plagiarizing. But this novel's grinding is honestly intriguing. If you enjoy typical harem novels like me, you shouldn't miss it. It's way above its peer stories.

I started from the Manga, then the 1st LN, and now MTLing the WN.

The story has differences among the mediums, I will talk about that later.

My first impression is high, it's the "typical trapped in a game type of isekai" mixed with "I already known the story" plus "I'm the mob villain character". Sounds cliche, but the execution was well done for me.

The MC is a strong player in the VR Game, he knows all the tricks, and of course, there are many players with equal level of standing. Still,... more>> after an update DLC with a unique mission, he is the sole (or maybe one of the few, it's not really confirmed) survivor. which grants him a unique "be transported into the world" invitation. He thought it was just the email trying to be funny, he accepted, and when asked to create a new character, or chose a random one, he decide to just go with a random one because, and ended up taking over the place of the mob villain character of the story.

So while his original self was the fat pig simp for one of the heroines, who is his beautiful and strong childhood friend, but his behavior makes her creep out, and she only keeps contact because of the relationship between his and her family.

So is this a story about simping for the heroine?

To my surprise, that doesn't seem to be the case. Because the story suggests that if he goes after her, he would be expelled, although the original person's feelings still exist, his rational side tries to ignore. That's why he decides to work on himself. Very RP.

Thus this story has 2 different "point of views": 1st is the MC who hides his power, but shares his knowledge with those he trusts (namely family), meets other people, and is grinding his levels, and at the same time, we get the Hero's party (mainly the Heroine and another party member's POV), with their more "common sense" view of things (and constant underestimation of MC, although he prefers to keep it that way for the sake of the plot).

This is not a story about an OP protagonist, because although "players" have access to some of their game abilities (even at low level, but with penalties), and the world building is quite interesting, and it is a modern setting with a modern political situation blended with the dangers of the fantasy setting.

This means that the MC faces many limitations:

- Limitations regarding his own status and society, as in, he has to go to school, he has limited time to go to the dungeons, he has to train to level up in that time;

- Has a family, so he has to be careful with his knowledge and its results, which could cause external forces to attack his family, hence why he hides his powers;

- He doesn't have infinite money, so his equips and items are limited.;

- If he is suspected by "people of influence", he gets dragged on into very complicated situations which he has little power over, and may affect his classmates.

The story starts when MC finds himself inside the game, he is in the 1st year of E Class, the "inferior class".

There is a caste system in this school, people can only start diving in Dungeons to level up when they reach 15yo, however, rich people and others of influence may have chances of going earlier, they may also abuse of advantages, such as hiring stronger adventurers and they get shared experience, nonetheless, the higher the level, the more of a superhuman you are.

That's why Class E are the weakest, because they are for people who didn't had such advantages, this includes the Game's protagonists, who goes through many hardships to grow stronger, and the supporting characters who help him.

At first the bullying is pretty extreme, to the point of being unreal, however there are logical explanations are on why this is allowed, and I agree they explain it well.

Regarding the heroine, how does it work?

As I mentioned, there are two different POVs, and MC and the main heroine hardly ever interact, as their relationship is fractured, and it remains as such, MC makes new friends and allies, while the heroine follows her own story.

However, in this world, the natives do not have all the knowledge and advantages the players have, so either due to influence of players, or due to those exact limitations, the group is growing slower than MC would expect. Of course, there is the fact they are not NPCs, so it's not just the MC who has a good family he cares about, it's everyone else... Or at least, most of them.

Thus the reader may find the heroine's POV annoying and arrogant, and to some extent, that's likely what she is supposed to express, but as time goes on with later developments, I was able to understand why that was necessary, and her own character development.

Besides, the heroine is not the best girl, that post is owned by MC's little sister.

She is too young to dive into a Dungeon, but MC shares his secrets, and he gets her inside and do it together, he explains everything, and she listens, and they are pretty good working together, it's a fun and nice relationship. There is no "in*est" here, the sister likes him as a brother she admires, and she dislikes people who dislike him, for example, she used to have a good relationship with the heroine, but after things changed, the heroine became "that woman". Thank to that, all her practical common sense about dungeons comes from him, so she too becomes an abnormality, and that is fun.

There is a Light Novel being officially published, a manga, and the webnovel that isn't being translated, so either read in JP or MTL.

But to my surprise, there are a number of differences among them, with the LN being a better version of the WN, as it works better on some events since more of the plot had already been developed in the WN. Meanwhile, the manga does have some changes:

- The skill "Simple Appraisal" in the novels does not return levels of those appraised in any of the novels, rather, it only shows a relative message about how much stronger the other side is, but with knowledge, you can calculate the levels. However, in the manga levels are shown. This is probably just to make things shorter for the manga, since eventually we all learn around which levels everyone is.

- In the opposite way, in the novels, "Simple Appraisal" did not allow MC to appraise specific skills, so he didn't knew what his own special skill did, but in both novels he could do it from the start.

- Maybe because of the ability to appraise levels in the manga, everyone always knows their own level, but that's not the case in the novels. If you don't go to a terminal to register your changes, you won't know your status. You can count your Level ups either by checking if you unlocked a skill from a specific level, or by counting the "level up feeling", so for example, if you felt a lot of level ups, but unlocked "Simple Appraisal", you are likely at lvl 5. However, if they level up multiple levels without unlocking any skill (because there is none to unlock), they have no idea what level they are until they find a place to check.

- In the manga, the little sister gains more screen-time: In the novels, when the childhood friend heroine visited MC, his mother is the one who calls him, in the manga, it's the little sister, and her contempt is very explicit, so it builds more of her character.

- In the manga, the Game's protagonist had more interactions with MC, he was like the character who would help those who stay alone, leading to a few unique interactions. The novels however have another 2 characters unrelated to the protagonist who do that instead, thus, in the novels, the protagonist has little to none interaction with MC, in fact, in later parts where they do eventually come to interact, the protagonist didn't knew MC's name, so the manga seems to make him more likeable. (which is good)

- Many events are out of order, in the manga, MC partners with 2 female classmates after the first big boss, but in the novels, that happens much earlier, this also impacts one of the reveals later, as in the manga it felt too sudden, but the novels already hinted at something.

- After the big boss fight, the WN is much tamer regarding the parents finding out of the risk, in the manga (and LN), they find it out because of the little sister's damaged equipment, and become worried, leading to a much more realistic development. <<less

Pretty good so far.

There's a TON of world building, the MC is cool headed and doesn't really care about the mean comments from others, he just does his thing.

I just hope the childhood friend dies or something, such a unlikable person she is, MC don't really get involved with people from school, but he helps his little sister and later the rest of his family to level up, something really new and refreshing in a game world isekai, ' class mates don't like me because I'm fat and weak? Who... more>> cares? I'll power level my family and make them my party! ' I'll be disappointed if he doesn't tell the 'FL' to f*ck off!

Translation is pretty good, but it could really use a proof reader or something, there's a LOT of double sentences that could be taken off if someone took a look before posting, but besides that, it's pretty good. <<less

Good character development, world-building, and an overall fun plot. Some reviews said the MC is a Beta male. Personal opinion, I think he's playing things smart. It's a world where nobles can kill you (well, they'd hire someone TO kill you) without repercussions. So laying low is a good idea.

Fleshed out relationships with other students are just starting to happen. Still nothing to see related to the "Romance" Tag, but character development/progress SHOULD take time.

There's a few things that don't make sense, like why does their school matter? If they... more>> go to a normal school without Nobles they wouldn't be harassed, AND they can still go into the dungeon!

Overall, it's worth reading.

Everything going so well from world building, rpg systems, the characters, etc but man it's always the same Japanese MC problem.

Spoiler

As of chapter 72, he's been grinding in dungeon floor 20 ish area and the deepest explored dungeon floor is 32. He is already pretty much high level and able to take 1vs1 atleast against student of class D but he's still being pushover because of afraid it will attract "attention".

    • Someone stole his swords but he doesnt retaliate
    • Classmate flirting his fiance (Kaworu, keep in mind because his personality fused with the original he has feeling for her) but he doesnt do anything
    • Also his fiance got harassed by class D, he stands up but letting the guy hit him
    • Just being bystander and not helping his friend when his friend got intimidated by student council president whi has equal power with him

Those are the examples, all those because he doesnt want to stand up or attract attentions wtf. I was hoping the MC will grow some balls but like after this much chapters he's still pushover and tbe raw is somewhere around 80 ish chapters atm so I doubt anything happens.

I think I rate this as 4 because missclick but it should be 3. This novel could be really good one but the MC mentality kinds ruin it.

The novel translation is readable if you don't mind the pronouns getting mixed up a few times.

The world set up is good and easy to understand. And there's also detailed descriptions of things as to why this is this and that is that. There's also pov of people other than MC sometimes (which I like very much in a novel). And the povs are done really well.

As for the story you can pretty much guess from the description. But is of better quality. The progress speed is slow and steady. If you like this kind of work then I don't think you will regret reading it.

Spoiler

At first the MC is hated and ridiculed for being defeated by a slime (which is not true but just a rumour). His childhood sweetheart dislikes him and leans toward the in game protagonist. She also believes the rumours and makes fun of him. I don't know the details of what the MC did before he got his memories back but still the childhood friend is not likeable. She even tries to isolate him from his few classmates who stand by his side. Truthfully I don't want the childhood friend route. The MC is currently using his game knowledge to improve himself to protect himself and his family. The grinding and other skill related things are fun to read. And they are not so cliche. But the story just starts here and there are many twist and turns.

[collapse]

The novel is supposed to be weekly released (but thanks to the sponsorship of a few readers the sponsored chaps are daily released from that you can guess how much it is loved) and the NU page doesn't respond as there are already 60+ chapters but it shows only till chapter 5. So, for more updates join their discord or go to their homepage (or about us page or whatever it is), there in the midst of other gems you may find this diamond.

Read a lot of light novels and may not be an expert but so far this is a very good read. I personally like the whole redemption of character story plot and also enjoy a story plot where the character not only works from ground zero but behind. It’s cool to see how someone can turn their life around and struggle with their past reputation. I hope this novel gets traction and some support.

So far the character development of the MC is good and looking forward to learning about the... more>> other characters but this is only the beginning. Waiting for the next ch! <<less

Surprisingly decent. There are obvious care given to the world building (something I rarely see in Japanese ln) the major downside I can see is that chapters occasionally drag things around (you sometimes see whole chapters consisting entirely of the MC travelling to a level) and a lot of the fights are very grindy and serve only to explain leveling mechanics instead of actual fighting
Spoiler

Except the one where he fought that skeleton noble, that's kino

Love it, MC quite smart and mostly moving in the shadow, doing leveling by himself with his trusted friends and family without standing out too much. And the world building is quite rich!

I can't wait for him to be much stronger enough to take care many problems.

Entire school aside, I hate most of his classmates especially his childhood friend, but the two girls that really kind with him is exception, they're such a good people.

And yea so far so good despite some error on the translation but it's ok.

couldn't even give this novel the old 100 chapter try, it leans too hard into the self hating
without giving us the pay off of any sort of development or people not trying to step on
the mc's neck, heck even the other characters getting throttled atleast give us something within
the first 50 chapters to make us want to read such a self hating MC ??
0/5 skip this bs not worth your time.

the summary is quite misleading, as there is pretty much no romance in the series. The story revolves around the MC who has cheat powers and knowledge, but refuses to use them, and considers following the game story to be his main goal. He downright refuses to help or talk to any heroines because according to him, only the hero can make them happy.

Also, almost all the characters are evil or a*sholes, and there's badly portrayed politics everywhere. Kept hoping it would get better, but is really didn't.

The story is interesting but I actually recommend the manga instead of the web novel. The manga seems to take a nicer approach than the novel, at least the MC seems more connected with the story of the original protagonist of the game. I write this with the raws only in chapter 13, but the differences are big enough for me to bet that the story in the manga will be better and probably not same, probably.

Even though the story is interesting and the translation is keeping up. There are many things to be fixed in regards of translation which many could notice such as incomplete word, missed translation (like the MC narration were completely wrong in the case of referring to his sister which he should use the word "her" instead of "his") and much more.

still it is readable and the story could be easily understood.

If you are expecting face slapping power fest and harem romance, this is not the novel for you.

The novel has a strong discrimination where the noblity have a lot of power and very abusive towards the commoner. Even commoner of higher strengths are as*hole towards weaker commoners. In short, everyone is an as*hole for their own benefits, exploiting those who don't have any power or status.

The MC priority is the well-being of his family, everyone else is of less important to him. He would even demean himself to hide his... more>> strength from catching the eyes of organization, because they can use his family as hostages to get information out of him. Furthermore, he does not have the strength to go up against the organization yet. He tries to avoid getting involved with the protagonist and heroines in the novel, especially to avoid effecting the events that is supposed to take place, even when his classmates are all getting bullied. He cares more about protecting the game storyline than his classmates to prevent the bad ending. Unfortunately this is out of his control, due to third-parties with their own agendas. If there is any problem with the novel, it is the pronouns in the novel translation, making it a bit confusing who is being talk about. The same person will be refer to as he and she all over the place. <<less
