The story is not bad.

It's the story of a somewhat idiot MC that has things going well mostly because of "luck" in an Academy (starting ch25).

Spoiler

It's not that he has balls or that he acts like an idiot. He is an idiot.

When MC acts crazily against the characters he knows is somewhat understable, when MC acts crazily against people he doesn't know that makes him an idiot.

If you want to see how much of an idiot he is, after fighting the second years and somewhat winning because of plot, he even asked them to make the third year students come themselves on Monday to do the tradicional activity (because the royal prince will suposedly be present that Monday).

The thing is, the third year students after hearing the message don't necessarily need to come that Monday, they could come at that same moment to teach him a lesson, and this time he wouldn't be able to do anything but take the beating. Well that won't happen because of armor plot.

Post Edit 06/09/2021:
Well, it didn't happen that same day but surprisingly still somewhat happened later in ch47/48, they thought of a way to beat him as representatives of a duel, the third year representative is fighting with a handicap and is beating him. Seeing how ch48 ended will he win again because of plot?

The Premise is a bit meh demon prince demon lord and all of that sh*t gets a lil bit too common nowadays.

The MC is kind of dumb but he has balls and thats what I like about him, not some beta stuttering-every-sentence MC.

This is the best WN I've read this year after "I shall Seal The Heavens"..

Story can be divided in 2 broad parts that contains different style of writing and atmosphere, which integrated well in overall story.. 1st part of, which spans upto 45% of story mostly focuses the slice of life genre with various plot developments and some action.. This part of sol gives us the experience of day to day life of different characters, their perspectives on different matter ups and downs of those characters, their individual stories and... more>> development, political elements, romance build up, relationship build ups, and broadly laying up amazing plot point containing mysteries and thriller for future execution.. This part was truly beautiful to read as it contains various story well and Thoroughly written about different characters.. Majority of sol part in story happened under school life genre, so yeah, Acadamy in the title isn't for show.. 😳

2nd part is divided because of big plot twist which, although predictable, happened way too early and that point defines majority of the writing and events of 2nd half.. To summarize, 2nd part is full of angst, dark and action, with all developments and conclusion to build ups done very well..

Conclusion was a little abrupt but satisfactory, with lots of dark and angst moment and actions.. Although it did not give happy ending to every cast involved, it does end on a good note in after story, concluding different character's story who were key figures of climax..

The best element in the story was it's rich variety of characters.. Story is mainly character driven and done a well job in characterisations and developments on many casts including some minor side characters.. It's written as, they introduce different characters at once and follow up the story, introduction, developments, ideologies, personalities, and conclusion of those characters one by one, making story more engaging and giving it life... Although story is character driven, Story itself doesn't revolvesd around any particular character, including the Protagonist, rather storytelling incorporated those characters in the plot so well for them to perform different and vibrant roles for story's execution..

Character interactions and relationships was also done beautifully, it shows many ups and downs in relationship ie sometimes wholesome, dark, rivalry, romance, etc. It makes story much more immersive from many perspectives.

Also here the protagonist is not some OP mf but he steadily increases his power capabilities and still doesn't get all OP because there were still many ppl stronger than protagonist... If I have to describe protagonist, he's like the main supporting character that helps leading the different plot points to their conclusion.. 🗿

World building, not the strongest point of story but still done well.. In this, story layout the rough sketch of the geography of world with lots to explore, the political situations of the world and a vague sort of power system which was explained well from time to time for different individuals.. World building was not the main point so at the end it left many new and fascinating points for our imagination..

Overall story was very well and thoroughly written and excels in different elements and tropes... It has some flaws here and there but in long runs they weren't worth mentioning... Biggest flaw I can think is that the story becomes slow from time to time which sometimes bores me, similarly with some character arcs as well which although at 1st seems boring later, near conclusion, picks up the pace

I can say a lot more great things because it's not enough but then there will be spoilers.. 🫠 Anyway do try it..

Ratings - 9.5/10 (it's almost masterpiece for me but ending is a little bit unsatisfactory for me, only a tiny little bit. 🙃) <<less

Dropped at 504 chapters.

First 300 chapters or so are solid, nothing new but a fairly original enough mix of existing tropes, but then the author decided to give the finger to the readers.

It's kind of funny actually, maybe it's even intentional, because in the novel the MC is supposedly transmigrated into his own novel as a punishment for making 'good' novels but then abruptly changing the genre and/or messing up the plot in the middle.

This behavior caused readers to leave hate comments and the MC (before transmigration) died from high... more>> blood pressure from reading so many comments.

And wouldn't you know it, the novel has some mostly chill interesting slice of life school setting, but then the author decided to flip the table.

Somehow I still read on hoping the novel would recover, and it looked like it would, until the author did it again.

This had all of the necessary ingredients to be genuinely excellent, but ultimately didn't deliver.

The first half built it all up, with an interesting premise, great characters that have fun dynamics with the MC, and an engaging sense of progression. The author felt in their element, with a great ability to build tension. I constantly wanted to keep reading, going to the next chapter immediately.

The second half also had some great moments, but felt less thought out, with clumsy plot progression and disappointing handling of certain key characters. The plot... more>> events themselves were generally fine, but needed more development and integration with the main premise of the MC being the author, and associated meta elements, to feel less contrived. Some of the decisions made by key characters felt extremely antithetical to their established personalities and development in the first half (Ellen being the most aggregious and Charlotte to a lesser extent). In general, it felt like the fun character dynamics were replaced with heaps of melodrama and guilt. Pacing was also quite bad.

The ending was pretty good, but didnt meet my built up expectations. I felt like the setting and initial premise could've been explored more thoroughly, though I was generally satisfied with how most important character arcs wrapped up.

Overall still worth the read for at least the first half and epilogue. Also looking for recommendations similar in premise and quality to the first half.

Spoiler

I wish the empire conflict, including all of the Ellen stuff, was wrapped up more succinctly with better character decision making, followed by a more fleshed out arc with everybody united under MC against the gate threat and other conflicts, and more fleshed out kingdom building.

It's hard to write a coherent review when you really like an ongoing story.
The story tells you what's going to happen in the first few chapters.

You will not remember this.

The story will continue. The foreshadowing will pop up every so often in some subtle and some blatant ways. You will not take it seriously or if you do, you will quickly learn to push it to the back of your mind.

When what was foretold begins, it will be a massive shock.
"No no no! This can't be happening! Go... more>> back! I want things to go back to the way they were!"

These feelings will echo exactly what the main characters feel. When you realize that, it's hard not to be impressed with this title. The story was structured to make you comfortable. Content.

When everything breaks, so do you.

What is certain about the future depresses you.
What is uncertain? Will undoubtedly be worse.

The current arc has made me incredibly sad. That's a good thing.

It means I care. I want these characters to be happy and as bad as things may get, I still have hope.

Man, I really like this title. <<less

Story overall 6/10

Character description and development is pretty good. (MC, and support character)

But.

... more>> *Like average other Korean novels, the development of the story is very disappointing, there are too many plot holes which are enough to make the reader feel a bit strange when they are connected with the events that previously happened

*Besides that, when it's almost at the end of the novels, it seems to drag out the storyline.

*Punchlines The events that occur in the story line are very cheap and cannot make a deep impression on the reader like most Korean novels

*There is too much unnecessary drama which is like the habit of other Korean novels (the many useless dramas are already at the annoying level)

*If you Starting to read novels from Japan, don't hoping you got a satisfying punchlines in this novel. (Even though Japanese novels are now too cheap, the resulting punchlines can still give a satisfaction impression to readers)

*And the ending is very disappointing because lack of a satisfying punchline

Mid.

Setting is so nonsensical. The logic of characters, main or sub, is not consistent or sensible with living beings or even the characters themselves, it just goes the way the author wants. Their logic doesn't flow and is just erratic whenever it needs to be.

Character growth is undermined. "Actions speak louder than words" (Gandhi I think), however, in the novel, inner dialogue is used to express development. It just comes off like someone saying "I'm a humble guy". Secrets are withheld to be cool, yet a few chapters later, revealed... more>> since author got to say the cool lines but wants some development and further praising of the "development" of characters. It just feels forced, all the time. The MC is the biggest problem, him revealing people's inner thoughts just makes everybody else feel one-dimensional. It would be vastly more interesting if his perceptions were incorrect, but we can't even have that.

MC is the author of the novel he is living in. He calls the younger folks "kids" yet he is a kid when we consider his own actions. The "development", at around 180, just makes his age appear further closer to the age of his physical body. The obsession of an old MC having a youthful body almost always results in an MC that acts younger than an adult.

The system is just convenient. Its not particularly interesting, just a shop to get convenient gains or bonuses to make MC OP faster because plot needs it soon.

The philosophical and psychological moments are shallow.

Good is good, evil is evil, but wait, the new evil may not be evil and the good may not be good.

More and more korean novels are just coming off as japanese novels. Its cool to see the blend of elements but they aren't developing the elements.

Its just mid. You can grab any korean novel of similar tags, it won't be much different. Some might be better in some aspects but worse in others. I've got to start adding some 2 star ratings at some point. <<less

Spoiler

A surprisingly good read. Unlike other novels of the same genre this one follows an antagonist side of things.

The MC is the last demon prince and due to him being reincarnated he manages to worm his way out of most situation through a bit of grit. Over the coarse of this novel, he grows as a person, becoming more attached to the world as his own morals rise up to combat the injustice.

The MC isn't evil, he isn't an idiot either. The guy is a lowkey alpha as this novel follows a more mature take on the fantasy genre.

Overall, if you like suspense and good amounts of tension, then this is for you. Though some actions of the MC do seem a bit childish, but that is a rather minor flaw.

c330 - Updated review

The story has finally went down hill. The first 200 chapters were great, but after a while you will start to expect more out of this story. Something a bit different, a breath of fresh air which would branch out into the wider world in a dynamic way. However, nothing of that sort happens, the author continues to play it safe by keeping true to what he knows best.

Extending the school year.

Which means we will get more s*upid temple events. But this time we will now get 100+ chaps about a festival which includes a tournament arc, a (shudder) trans beauty pageant, a Mr and Miss Temple talent show and some random event featuring the 'bad' guys who sole purpose is to show the consequences of the MCs actions. (no matter how forced it seems)

Anyway, all of this stuff keeps the pacing at a standstill. The urgency from the start has went away along with the MCs powerewess. Our MC is now stuck acting like a simp to the extreme, allowing all sorts of nerfs to be placed on him for the sake of creating tension which has been rotting my brain cells away as the chapter count continues to lengthen.

At this point, there really isn't anything going for this story. The author has brought up old 'jokes'... especially the crossdressing humor and force the MC to win a trans beauty pageant just for the sake of a power up... A power up that literally does nothing to make our MC OP, instead will turn out to be a nerf in the long run. All in order to allow the FLs to outshine him once again at every instance so to keep our MC's own accomplishment on the down low.

And sure, I could stand all of this... but the MC simple doesn't grow as a person. In fact he backpedals in development by leaning onto his authority as the demon prince alongside the plot armor to force his view onto others.

No longer are their real consequences only hurdles which are being pre-contrived in the most ridiculous of manner. As if there is a God who is simple bored enough to simple go against him at every turn of this story. Throwing mud at the MC to see what would stick. (What I mean, is there are very implausible scenarios just randomly popping up one after another just to be solved in 10chps. All to waste our time.)

Honestly, nothing feels natural now, everything has a artificial vibe currently. His quests keep on giving out ridiculous rewards for the s*upidest of tasks. The bad guys are one shot villains just to power up the MCs [self suggestion] AKA [Plot Armor].

I finally had to call it quits now. I can't stand the s*upidity of the MCs powerset and the eternal school arc which allows for everyone's growth besides for the MC. Everyone will keep up with the MC, making it appear the MC isn't growing at all. Even with the most OP skill, changing the world line, our MC simply fails to utilize it at all. Relying on [Plot Armor] to win every battle... all the fcking time. All in order to create cheap tension in a story which has a snail crawling pace.

As a conclusion, I'm practically halfway through this story. Nothing seems to have advanced since the first 150chps. The MC is given the stick instead of the carrot and his achievements are just that. No recognition is given to his actions while he tries to play fix-it to the extreme. He keeps secrets and doesn't out grow the cast in any meaningful way. The MC will always be the submissive one in any confrontation. As consequences are nothing but a subtle notion in the background allowing the MC to act like this as nothing will really go horribly wrong.

Rate 2.4/5

Spoiler

I don't know how tf the author has the time to write the: Gate/Black Order/Vampire Counsel plot points, with the remaining chapters without butchering the pacing or magiking away the issues through forced plot. (I assume it will be sped run through)

I also read reviews talking about how the MC will start to take on the world's evils upon himself to be hated by others.... Like a dark souls reference, grimderp nonsense ect (insert s*upidity here). So yeah f that sht. If what I read is correct, then the plot points I mentioned will never be covered in a realistic way as the novel will take a sharp turn from the slice of life happy go lucky to a bastardized version expected in Korean fics.

So... everything after the darklands event is hogwash. This is the sole point where the story takes a step in the right direction. Afterwards do not expect much as this plot point will continue to be mentioned 400 chaps later... in the multiple POV switches. Where every relevant person will develop there character based off this event... even when they were not even there!!!!!!

As the author recognizes that this is the highlight of his career, the peak of his writing skills.

Thus he must continue to milk this event for all its worth

"Hey you remember that time I wrote that cool darklands scenario? Yeah it was cool. So now I think i'll have every meaningful character event be based off this non related scenario as a form of growth. In doing this I can somehow milk this spark of enlightenment for all it is worth. Wouldn't that be amazing?"

The more I think about this work, the more I see the apparent flaws and the more I am tempted to lower the score.... But I can't do that since it has already wasted my time for a good 200chps before I had to start skipping ahead.

So, in order to not cheapen my time, I have to leave it as it is... sadly.

Also it is ironic Reaper Scans dropped this work. Since they knew this fic became hot garbage reletavely fast. A bit sad that they milked it for so long when they had hundreds of chaps already stockpiled... which explains the mass release the day after they discontinued their translation.

So LOL what can you do? When you have a subpar story with greedy pirates?

I really enjoyed this novel initially... but it's just descending further into mediocrity as things go on.

At some point, I found that I was reading something that wasn't any better than 90% of the stuff on this website.

The author had something going with the idea behind the story, but it has become clear that he doesn't have the skill to keep the story interesting and is just fallen back on the same tropes that have us all bored out of our minds by now.

It's a good premise but very repetitive. Slowing a story down isn't bad when there's still progress. It will be 3/4 chapters of stagnation and the author will say things multiple times to drive home a point.

I feel this should have the tag "slice of life".

There's nothing compelling you to read the next chapter, so it can be at times painful to read chapter by chapter. I will wait till it's far far ahead and read again because the story is actually interesting even if I'm not a fan... more>> of the way it's done <<less

The amount the times the author repeats themselves is in the extreme. This heavily slows down the pacing of the story, as you are forced to reread the same thing, written in slightly different ways, multiple times. It's to the extent that you could get rid of a third of the story, and nothing would change.

The protagonist is someone is pushed along by the plot, only reacting, but he tends to react in a very intelligent manner, which is always interesting to see. It's neither good, nor bad, it's just... more>> a personality type that makes it easy to go along with the flow.

The other characters in the story are interesting, but sadly, there's very little amounts of dialog and exchanges between the characters, so we get very minimal character devolopment as a result. The majority of the story is the protagonist explaining the world around him.

The author was clearly inspired heavily by The Novel's Extra, and the premise of the story shares many, many similarities between the two. If you enjoy slow pacing, then it's defintely worth trying 'The Demon Prince goes to the Academy'. <<less

It has a pretty strong premise. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. At the point I'm at, the protagonist has only just entered school - so the story has really only just begun. I have a few pet peeves about this novel but nothing that's marred the enjoyment much for me.

So, the issues I have with it:

I think the protagonist, so far, has had too limited of an interaction with others, while also talking to himself too much. I feel a bit fatigued reading some of his internal... more>> monologues - which isn't helped by my other pet peeve - repetition. The author has a small habit of repeating himself, an example:

Spoiler

"If that were the case, then there was a good chance that Charlotte would soon be killed by Bertus or one of his people.

Charlotte would die behind the scenes at the vestiges of the main story. She wouldn't even be able to join the main story.

Charlotte would probably die soon. The possibility that she won't even make it to the Empire isn't that low either.

Charlotte would be in danger soon, I don't know how though. While I was thinking about that, the princess was letting out a sigh as she was finally full."

"Bertus would be embarrassed to know that the first princess was alive and not dead. He would have, of course, thought that she died, but she came back alive."

[collapse]

The translation is very competent and easy to read though, and the story shows a lot of promise. The protagonist both having (limited) information about the future and a secret identity to hide lest he be persecuted is a fun combination. I hope he's forced to interact with his classmates soon, and some interesting drama sprouts from that.

EDIT: What's written before this was my opinion up to chapter 26.

Turns out that small habit I identified was really more of an isolated case and I haven't noticed much of anything like that since.

Also, the protagonist is a whole lot less reasonable (and a whole lot more fun) than I thought he would be at the start. He acts surprisingly obnoxious (in a fun way) and sticks up for himself really well. I'm getting more optimistic about this novel as it goes, and I hope it keeps it up. <<less

Butterfly effects!

Butterfly effects, everywhere!

I will preface this by saying that my only real problem with this novel is that the author is 'very talented' at over explaining thoughts, feelings, and actions to the point of repeating the same idea or concept over and over again in different ways.

... more>> But, other than that minor gripe, this novel, relatively speaking, is phenomenal.

In the world of web novels, there are many stories that start off with interesting premises that ultimately end up stagnating into swamps of meaningless or aimless storytelling.

That is not the case for this one.

You can really tell how good the quality of the story is from how the author managed to flesh out the supporting cast, and their relationships, foreshadow events, and consequently connect said events together throughout the entire story.

And, for me personally, I truly enjoyed reading about an MC, who actually had to struggle to reach the ending he got, from beginning to end.

My only regret is that I read through too fast and I wish that the epilogue had been a lot longer.

Outstanding novel.

Highly recommended. <<less

The rating is 2.5 stars, not 3.

The beginning of the story was interesting and I liked the MC's initial thoughts on how he failed to properly set up the world in his own work. Eventhough it was interesting at first, it becomes a chore to read through his thoughts because that is ALL he thinks about. Everytime he thinks about something he inevitably starts self-deprecating and it becomes extremely boring very quickly. We don't need to be reminded that he was not a great author every 5 paragraphs, we got... more>> it in the beginning, thank you, please stop reminding us.

It was great to see the Demon Prince trying to fit in with the actual major characters. Most of these characters have depth until the author forgets about it and they turn into a puddle. In my opinion, the author bit more than he can chew when he tried to have the MC have relations with all of them. Characters sometimes act like you expect but other times they do a complete 180. These changes are not written very well and they just happen because the author needed to continue the main plot one way or another.

The second part of the novel turns into a tragedy because of course it does.

Spoiler

MC's identity as the Demon Prince gets revealed and almost everyone turns his back on him except Olivia, Harriet and Liana. Ellen and Charlotte become emotional wrecks and the author really wants you to pity them, however he fails in doing so. IF they tried to make up for their mistakes I would understand, however they do nothing about it. Charlotte turns into this demonic being while crying in her room for 2 years and Ellen goes around killing monsters while she is drowned in guilt and self-pity. And this keeps going on forever without change. MC is extremely passive in EVERY SITUATION AND FORGIVES EVERYONE FOR NO REASON. I understand trying to create righteous characters but his righteosness borders on extreme s*upidity. His character is nothing more than a tool for everyone to use as they please and he goes along with the flow.

  1. He gets possessed by vengeful spirits that hate the Demon Prince because of what Liana did, forgives Liana without punishment.
  2. His underlings manipulate Ellen to help him by getting possessed by the same spirits, she gets possessed and the spirits slowly consume her. He learns about it, forgives them without punishment.
  3. He is betrayed by everyone, still helps them and forgives them, LITERALLY GOES INTO THE ENEMY CAMP TO WARN THEM.

This holier-than-thou attitude never changes until the end and it is frustrating. I HATE how everyone just drowns in their guilt and self pity. It feels like this is just tragedy for tragedy's sake and nothing else. It feels extremely forced. Relationships and memories go out the window just because. No reason at all. Don't get me started on how the MC's relationship with Ellen. Ellen, of course, just cries and whines in guilt while the MC is like "Damn we can never be together because the people who still support the Hero won't leave us alone." So? It is literally mentioned that after he took over the Empire he is now strong enough to subdue opposing armies JUST BY HIMSELF. He does not need and army. He just teleports there, kills them and returns home. WHO IS GOING TO STOP YOU FROM BEING TOGETHER WITH ELLEN? Everything in the second part of the story feels forced and it becomes a chore to read through. I just forced myself to read because I wanted to know how it would end.

5: This is going on my lifetime favorites
4: Very good read
3: Okay, satisfactory
2: Didn't like it for several reasons
1: Did not finish, do not recommend

Setting: 4/5
- The universe is established pretty well, but is lacking slightly geographically. Politics are explored very thoroughly.
- The power system is a bit bland and a bit lazy. The author doesn't really explain in detail why things work as they do. However, he uses them in really fun-to-read ways, so I am okay with it.
-... more>> The author likes to include a lot of extra details and info-dumps about the world, so it's very immersive.
- Overall, the setting was well-done, 4/5.

Main Characters: 4/5
- The story is told mainly from the MC's POV, but occasionally swaps between multiple different POVs to show the reader the full story.
- There are many characters in this 703 chapter novel, but I wouldn't say there are too many characters. Though our MC joins a school with over 100, 000 students, only those of importance are given a face, name, and story. All the characters that we are introduced to are somehow woven well into the story.
- They're very well-developed (and fairly intelligent). Almost all the characters are so deeply explored that, in retrospect, I can understand how they would act in each situation.
- Though they may display some stereotypical traits in the beginning, as the author delves into both their past experiences and their inner thoughts, you can see how multi-dimensional each of them are. The author explore their thoughts and emotions in great detail throughout each event that happens in the story, and that makes them all feel believable.
- A major gripe I have is that quite a few of the characters are emotionally immature and a recurring theme is self-blame to the point of self-loathing mixed with lack of communication.
- Overall, the characters were great, even if I got annoyed at some of them. It feels wrong not to give the characters a 5/5 since I enjoyed them so much, but my previous point is unignorable, 4/5.

Plot/Pacing: 4/5
- The pacing of the story is slow and deliberate. The author likes to go in depth to explain things, which made for a very interesting view into his world. He likes to write scenarios from multiple different perspectives, and shows how all the characters progress with differing ideas of what the big picture is. (I should add that I usually like slower stories, but there were certain arcs that felt slow to me, so treat this as a bit of a warning to anyone who doesn't like slow plots.)
- Comparably, the ending felt rushed and in the end, I was left with several unanswered questions and I wish we got a longer epilogue to explain everything that happened.
- The story was fairly predictable because as you discover more and more information from different characters' perspectives, you can slowly piece together what is happening (which stems from the author being very deliberate).
- Overall, the plot was slow (sometimes too slow), but well-written, 4/5.

Overall Writing: 5/5
- One minor problem I had with the writing was that the author likes to repeat himself a lot for emphasis (?), which can get annoying.
- One of my favorite things is how convincingly the author can write both hype moments and tragic moments. He delves into the emotions of the involved characters and is very skilled at setting the mood.
- Overall, the writing was incredible, 5/5.

Enjoyability Factor: 5/5
- I loved it, mainly due to how immersive the author made his world. I also loved how much I cared about each character once I finished reading. Even though I finished reading this within a span of a few weeks, it felt like I really grew up with them in the academy.
- I also enjoyed some of the characters so much that I do have to mention them here as big influences for my enjoyment of the series. Honestly, Harriet and Eleris alone bumped this up to a 5/5. <<less

The dynamic between the characters are super fun.

The 1st half is about academy life, but sets up the story for what happens in the 2nd half (battle field theme) . The 2nd half really plays out the character dynamic even more and becomes super impactful because of the relationships the MC has built in the 1st half.

Overall I think you should give it a read, ended up bingeing the whole thing.
Also if you are looking for a novel similar to "The demon prince goes to the academy" I really... more>> recommend "Kidnapped Dragons", the character dynamic is as good or even better. <<less

Hooked at the work really well.

From the start, character development, plot twist, snowball effect, and other elements, I can say that it really is a well spent time to read the work.

Never been this excited since ORV. I'll leave it to other readers to judge whether it is a good WN or not.

P.S.

Can someone recommend me other works to read?

The MC, while not utterly ret*rded. Isn't very smart. Along with most the classic shonen characteristics.

The fights, again, are insanely shonen. They usually involve the MC overcoming odds with his determination, all that bullshit. Not necessarily a bad thing tho.

The 1st ability MC gets is insanely powerful and he gets it for an utterly bullsh*t price but tbh, it's managed fairly well. Its not insanely strong and leaves you questioning how ret*rded the MC must be to struggle against anything with it like 'I fell into the Game with Instant... more>> Kill'

The relationships are written really well.

It SHOULD be a 4-5 stars.

But ELLEN. I'm so pissed. She was best girl in the beginning but it seems like the author didn't know where to take her character in the later halves of the story. Her character also had a pretty unsatisfying conclusion.

She's somewhat similar to Iris West from CW's the Flash. (For some reason I just that show a lot when describing novels lol). Just on a much smaller scale. You know something frustrating and unreasonable is about to happen whenever she gets screen time. It's a totally different contrast from the early chapters. Where I'd leave mildly disappointed if Ellen didn't appear <<less
