Gu Zuo: Are you sick?

Gongyi Tianheng: You have medicine?

Gu Zuo: You’re sick!

Gongyi Tianheng: If I say I’m sick, can you cure me?

Gu Zuo: If I say I have medicine, would you want it?

Gongyi Tianheng: However much you have is how much I want.

Gu Zuo: However much you want is how much I have.

Gongyi Tianheng: Then bring it all out.

Gu Zuo: …

Simply speaking, a scaredy-cat shou transmigrated and had to think of a way to survive. He had a golden finger called Medicine Refining System, but unfortunately, he didn’t have the ingredients needed to refine medicine and level up.

A great young master to an empire’s preeminent clan had a super high IQ, but his potential for cultivation was low. Unfortunately, pill refiners were too hard to develop, and weren’t restricted to his personal service. But he could acquire plenty of ingredients.

Two people, one was sick and one had medicine. Therefore, the one who was sick kept the one who had medicine, and everyone was happy.

i love every bit of the story, fromthe MC being naive and lacking confidence to growing up being confident while still naive, hahaha. It's an entertaining story and I don't regret picking it up. I am looking forward to the continuation and can't help but wonder how and when the MC and ML will realize their feelings.

[I can't brave the mtl, so my opinion is based on the translated chapters so far (right own, 173) ]

I am immensely thankful to the translator (s). I Have Medicine is a masterpiece. It is well-written, and the translation is amazing, which adds to the beauty of this story.

So...

... more>> Translation: 5 stars [it goes beyond understanding what is being said to enjoying how it is being said]

Characters: 5 stars [the characters feel alive, with credible motivations and logical behavior]

Plot: 5 stars [there is a definite goal the protagonist is working towards, so you never feel like things happen just because the author wants them to; also, the protagonist pushes the story forward with the actions he takes, not just reacting to events]

World: 5 stars [it isn't unique, but it is fleshed out as we follow the protagonist]

Read it, you won't regret it~ <<less

This story is amazing!!

The relationship and the characters are realistic. I love slow burn. If they fell in love instantly at first sight then it would not coincide with their characters. There personalities and growth development is beautiful. It is one of my favorite novel.

My only gripe with this novel and every other novel is that when it surpass 300 chapters I start to stagnate in my enthusiasm to keep reading. When it surpass 500 chapters, I kind of just putter out and kind of let go. Thankfully this novel... more>> is so good that I continued. <<less

I gave this a 5 stars, but to be honest I think a 4.3 or so would be better. I always love a good wuxia or cultivation BL that gives us more than just the romance. So far, I have to say that the MC and ML doesn't have that much chemistry. However, to be fair there is over 1000 chapters and we are not even 1/10 way through the story. The progress of their strength also seems a little rushed, but there are many levels so that's probably just... more>> to save us the boredom of having to see them get through the lower stages.

I was also a little disappointed with the revenge, I wasn't disappointed with the results but rather with how it was kinda narrated to us in 2 chapters instead of letting us really experience it. Overall, not many complaints from me except for these parts... And maybe that I would have appreciated a little comedy with such a long story. <<less

I want to say it's a great novel but for the details is for later when more chapters come out.

I might be patient but there is always a limit if a year pasts and this has not updated its disappointing that I have to take it out of my list but will maybe check if there's a new chapter out.

People seem to drop this novel then translate it but I hope someone will translate this fully all my hope is on the translaters. It's all their hard work I'm able... more>> to read novels like these :D <<less

First of all, I think it's important for people who want to read this story to know that the plot in this story is very slow (this will last at least until the middle of the story).

Although this story has not been fully translated yet, I personally finished reading the whole story already... and I actually have a very high expectations for this story at first.

This is because the storyline at the beginning is explained very completely and without rushing anything, even when entering the middle of the story where... more>> the speed of the storyline starts to accelerate everything is still written very stable.

But one thing that I still don't understand about the author is why when it's near the end, the author just ends everything like that... without any further clarity on some unresolved plots.

This problem is actually always happend with chinese author who wrote more then 1000+ chapter, but this one is a different case.

I mean, didn't the author write very well in the beginning??? wasn't this novel also originally very famous because the author wrote everything patiently and slowly??? then why when it reaches the climax plot the author just suddenly ends up everything without thinking about all the important plots that she/he wrote or explained before??? there wasn't even a bonus chapter at all in the end.

The ending of this story is made like the author will die the next day.

It's understandable if the author wrote the plot of this story in a hurry from the beginning, but the fact that this story is written slowly and very well in the beginning is really contradictory... I can't even understand at all why the author ended things so badly, I mean the plot is so clear that it doesn't even require difficult execution to end things, as long as the author can write a few more explanations clearly then everything will be perfect.

But out of all the options, he actually chose to destroy the 1000 chapters he wrote earlier just for a shitty ending.

This is just really disappointing. <<less

This is like 2.8'ish stars, coz I'm sure it's not so easy writing all this fiction. But Oh dear God...

My thing is; where is the romance? No seriously! I've read slow burns before and trust me there's absolutely no flames here. Ofcourse MC likes ML; he's strong and handsome and all that! As for the ML? His feelings for the MC are what you'd have for some idiot who saves your life and is like your little gold mine. It doesn't necessarily have to be love. Therefore I see no... more>> love here. None. Zero. Not that the author is even bothered with that; you'll just remember every hundred or so chapters that this is a bl novel, though there won't be a wisp of so called bl to even sniff.

A time reaches when the author just stops writing about the main leads all together, and instead about everyone in the sect or so. The MC will only be pulled out every 20 or so chapters to refine some pills and the ML to serve said pills and take all the fame and "make connections"

Some reviewer wrote; "No Wonder the MC was hit by a truck in his last life"!! And I think that should be the title of this novel. The MC is that dumb! Imagine if he didn't have the system to give him knowledge and books... His death would have been instant. The ML probably wouldn't even look at him. In comparison the MC of LMW found a way for himself even without a system... And before you say; But he had a space... The MC here has a space as well, yet we never see him use it. Infact it might as well be the ML's at this point.

Tbh I've never read such a QT novel. It's like the system here just wishes for the MC to die and get over with it. And honestly; same.

The MC is what you'd call a free s*ave. This whole novel is about him labouring day and night for some guy who pats him on the head when he does good. Literally. And he's so overwhelmed when the ML gives him stalks; like ofcourse he's giving you stalks; you're using them to heal him!!! It gets worse though; that whole awkwardness is what the author wants us to take as love! I just...

Every now and then they'll take on useless side missions to get stuff that won't even be used or mentioned in the future, meet new people that won't even be useful or mentioned in the plot in the future, make "outstanding" pills that, you guessed it right, won't be used or mentioned in the future... It goes on and on.

In summary, the MC is here to curry favour with the ML who is here to curry favour with literally the rest of the novel's characters. That's what this novel is all about; plus a detailed background of the families and ancestors and predecessors of everyone mentioned, side character or not. Don't worry, no word about them will ever be mentioned again, but the author makes you go through all that time wasting in case you weren't bored enough 👍

It's offensive that people are comparing this to The Legendary Master's Wife. That novel was one of a kind. I read all 700 or so chapters without that many complaints. Meanwhile this... I've read and dropped and read and dropped it over and over again but still can't find the big deal. I just keep getting bored and annoyed to hell.

If you're stubborn and insist on reading this novel then my advice would be end on the first 100 or so chapters, those are the bearable ones. <<less

The Translator was the only part I liked about this novel. I hope this honest review can warn some folks.

Merely, all the other reviews giving this 5 STARS really took me on this ride and honestly made me feel like I was reading something completely different. Merely, some people like Twilight, it's a best seller even - and this folks, is a worse love story than Twilight.

Spoiler

(Merely) The MC is the most submissive, unintelligent MC I have ever met. I usually complain when a FMC gets carried by the Male Lead and is basically reduced to a pet. This MC is a pet, he scampers behind the ML, he obeys the ML, the ML gives him head pats. The MC is an OP pharmacist and doctor - but the ML gets all that credit. The MC also doesn't make a move without the ML telling him to. The ML also knows and uses the system and the MC's space - because the MC is too fragile and naive to be trusted with his own inheritence. Yup.

(Merely) The ML isn't dislikable or anything, but this is his story. The MC never talks about his world, he mentions his dads, but not in any detail. He goes into rambles about how scary the world he transmigrated is, and how blessed he is to have the ML to depend on. To the point that he can SMILE in a s*ave store. (is there a name for that kind of place?)

(Merely) The casual disregard of s*avery and human experimentation is where I draw the line. The MC (author) rationalizies it as being acceptable because the world is cruel.... THE f*ck?! You can be the nicest s*ave owner imaginable, but the fact is you still own people. I have read quite a few Xianxia novels and this is the first one with this kind of thing. Human trafficking isn't something that should be handwaived for no reason, it's not even necessary to the plot, it's just lazy writing. (and isn't it telling that NU will censor the word s*ave, see s*avery is wrong)

[collapse]

Merely, the author can't world build for sh!t - those that gave this novel a good rating will fight me on this, but they probably haven't realized that the world we've been shown is poor on descriptions and hasn't had any seasons! FFS.

If you want to read about pill refining I'd recommend The Legendary Master's Wife and I shall Seal The Heavens. Merely, spare yourselves this claptrap. <<less

I do like the story. It does not only focus in the romance aspect and the author also does a good job in the world building of the novel. They don't immediately fall in love and they both have mutual respect for each other's accomplishments and contributions.

The only thing I am a little bit put off by is the blind and way over the top worship every character seems to have for the ML. I swear the ML could just breath and everyone would be at awe at how amazing... more>> he is. <<less

If you want to read purely for the romance must warn you that this is a really slow burn relationship where you can see how they slowly develop feelings of trust and love until they finally confess. (Only at 300ish chapters does the MC realize his feelings) There's really no rivals when it comes to love or unnecessary misunderstandings and the love isn't really the main focus of the book.

I think it's really fascinating how you see them grow and get stronger and slowly understanding better the world around them... more>> and themselves

One thing that I really liked was
Spoiler

how Ah Zuo adapts to this new world despite wanting to go back, to how he starts to love being besides his big brother and being conflicted to whether go back with him, without him or staying in this world with him and how he should talk with Gongyi Tianheng

I think it's overall a very good story, their relationship is adorable and the flow of the story is good although a bit slow for some people <<less

MC transmigrates into a world where martial artists reign supreme. He ends up playing the role of a pharmacist and is prompted to survive in this new world by a strange SYSTEM whose intention is apparently to make him the strongest pharmacist in this world. The first step in doing so is to find a backer that would be able to provide the MC with the resources that he needs to practice pharmacy. This backer ends up being the ML of the story -- who is the son of one... more>> of the strongest Clans of the Cangyun Empire, but is unfortunately burdened by an illness that has kept him from practicing martial arts.

The story focuses mainly on the growth of the main CP -- though their journey is more of a 'strong-to-stronger' journey rather than the usual 'weak-to-strong.' There is a big focus on exploring alchemy and martial arts, making for a really detailed setting. But, the fast-pacing does mean that a lot of things gets pushed aside rather quickly. I enjoyed it a lot! But the CG translation is far from finished and the MTL kind of sucks the fun out of everything T.T so I've decided to shelve it for now! Definitely going to come back to reread though! Worth the time invested for the worldbuilding 1000000%!

CHARACTERS: 7/10

The characters are not really the focus here. Though the main CP does get a lot of screen time, the fast-pacing made it a bit difficult to get close to any of the side characters. And, at first, the author really failed to make the main CP likeable (in my opinion). It's not that I disliked them, it's just that they didn't catch my eye because so much happened in the beginning T.T

Gu Zhuo (MC)

He's the 'shy and simple' kind of MC to begin with. He does what he needs to do and doesn't fuss with much else. Of course, with a SYSTEM as a golden finger and an innate talent for alchemy, he doesn't face much hardships, making his growth very slow.

Gongyi Tianheng (ML)

The ML is pretty perfect from the start. With a supreme body, he not only has a super high IQ but also an innate talent for martial arts -- which is hindered only because he lacked the proper medicine to keep his body healthy. His personality is the type that hides multitudes under a smile. And, opposite of the usual overbearing type of ML, his personality is pretty calm and collected (which makes sense because of his background~)

ROMANCE: --

Since the focus of the story is not on romance, I've decided not to rate it! If I did... it would probably be 5/10 or lower. Since it's very simple. As for the details --- This is a slow burn and it takes over 1/3rd of the story before anything happens -- after which, the romance remains as a very perfunctory subplot that only appears occasionally. Of course, the ML is the Gong and the MC is Shou -- but since the novel is not explicit, that doesn't matter much LOLOL.

SETTING: 10/10

In this novel live and death is pretty casual. Almost everyone wants to be a martial artist and that path is indeed a very bloody one. The MC's entry into the world as a beginner pharmacist forces him to find a backing that would be able to provide both resources and protection. After which, he has to continuously develop in the different environments he ends up climbing to in order to make it to the top of the top.

I like the setting of this novel most! It's incredibly rich in details and there's lots of things I read about for the first time that really inspired me~ Definitely worth rereading this just to explore the rest of the setting (that's the only reason I hesitated to put it down tbh, despite the sucky mtl quality).

PLOT: 7.5/10

Plot-wise, this is a story of two people growing stronger and stronger. They start off strong once they come together and continue to grow stronger together -- exploring new environments while they're at it. There are very clear Arcs involved. With the first one being the ML's home continent and the rest progressively more fantastical settings where new settings and new people are introduced.

If I had to point out any faults it would be that the author has a tendency of introducing things and then promptly forgetting them. I mean, this is a 1k-chapter long novel so it makes sense LOL. But yeh, would have liked to see more of certain storylines.

RATING: 4.1/5

If I counted the romance into the rating, it would probably be around 3.5 something. But overall? My impressions of this novel are pretty good! If it was translated completely, I have no doubt that I would have read all 1000 chapters... T.T After all, even though the characters are far from my favorites and I usually prefer weak-to-strong developments, there's no denying the appeal of this rich setting~ <<less

This is a well written novel.

I like alchemy theme and cultivation theme, and this story just gave me those. So, I am pretty satisfied.

At first I was annoyed by the slow character development of the MC Gu Zuo, coz he seemed pitiful and his thinking was too lame to supposedly come from the modern world. But no matter how ticked I was with his character, it was the magic of the author. So, I accepted it. However, what's up with that baggage? Carrying him throughout their adventure seemed too much.... more>> But that's me. Maybe that's how the author wanted to develop their skinship. Love is too pure. But their combo was very nice. I like the ML.

Overall, I enjoyed it and would like to see how the story goes. The pacing is just about right for me. The struggles to become OP is spot on. I think this is the 3rd one that I really enjoyed cultivation/alchemy story. Of course my first is Medicine God then Ghost Doctor. <<less

Ermm not much gonna write except MC is very naive and considering he's 15 and in a very dangerous world, looking for someone to be dependent on is natural imo.

When we're first introduced to the ML Idk why but he just felt so fake to me, like he gave me red flags and that his 'Prince charming' aura felt unreal Idk who to explain it.

But yeah, the way MC got so charmed by ML kinda made me uhhh okay... But then the big no no came when MC blatantly exposed his secrets to the ML like why??

Just because you pity him and find him inspirational / admire him doesn't mean you should do that, to me it was just an incredibly dumb move (and coming from a modern world with so much information and knowing not to trust strangers.... It was literally the same as telling a stranger on the street where your home address is, not very smart) and the ML was already very cooperative anyways so MC would've been able to find the correct cure by himself and you know, let him learn.

But oh well. I couldn't really bring myself to finish reading it bc the ML just really rubbed me the wrong way even tho he's pretty nice to MC.

MC is too silly and dumb for me to handle, I like my smart MCs and even silly ones that aren't too s*upid but this one is too much for me.

I read some other reviews that said ML was manipulative or something and makes the MC dependant on him and I guess that might be the red flag I felt for him although I usually don't feel this way to other manipulative MCs or ML's tbh.

I basically like how they steadily develop their relationship, but the MC is too dull, though I get that he is comfortable with what he has but as the MC he is too dull and the ML is too controlling. Yeah I get that he doesn't want to be outsmarted but dude, there's a limit to how controlling you can be. Love the story but sometimes the MC and the ML can make one grow mad.

Characters are extremely op and extremely cliche that’s all I can say so far. The plot so far is just talking about how strong they both are... both MC and ML are depicted as the strongest beings currently holding many godly secrets that cause them to be so op. But they don’t want to reveal what and how they do it to the world because the entire world is evil and bad and since they are the main characters they are good.

world building is still great though, seen a lot... more>> of places, good interactions with the people. Even though as a transmigrator, the MC doesn’t seem to be very interested in the world other than cultivating his medicine and being a white moonlight to his ML.

might not continue this after all... <<less

The story started out pretty nicely and I was anticipating some more plot development but it fell really flat. I could describe the plot and the characters all in one word — bland. The plot is really monotonous because hardly any major plot point occurs. Every time something does happen, it gets resolved easily and the majority of the rest of the chapters are purely just the ML getting stronger and the MC making stuff for the ML to eat. Taking into account the amount of chapters this novel has,... more>> I was relatively inclined to give it more chances but I find myself constantly dropping this novel because of the MC. The MC really couldn't be any more bland, many would consider him Mary-Sue but his personality is even flatter than that. The reason I gave this novel a rating higher than 1 or 2 stars was because of the exceptional translation. Then again, because I have not completed the novel, I might power through a few hundred more chapters and see if my current review needs a reevaluation. <<less

Listen. This story is the slowest burn in the history of burns BUT BUT BUT!!!

THAT JUST LEAVES ROOM FOR A MORE CLOSE AND PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP BEFORE THEY GET TOGETHER.

This story starts with a 15-year-old from modern times. I was still friggin playing Minecraft—if I was placed into a world where it was killed or be killed. I wouldn't have fared much better than MC. So with him starting out as a silly dummy makes sense and his growth throughout the story makes the reader feel like a proud parent watching... more>> their child learn the ways of the world.

And MC listens a lot to ML bc our boi is 6 heads bigger than everyone else. It's a trait that his IQ is so large. Though fear not, MC still makes his own decisions and stuff, it's just that over time he gets more and more confident in himself (*wipes tears. So proud of our boi*).

Now to ML.

As the translator has explained it. ML put his trust in MC first, then MC saw his sincerity and paid that trust back and worked hard, and then ML saw his earnestness and put his own sincerity in it which cycles in a positive feedback loop. No one is taking advantage of anyone. No one is cheating the other.

This story is cute. Give it a try. We have sprinkles of dog food, nice face-slapping, and an amazing (fantastic, show-stopping, never seen before) translator that's really very great! <<less

This novel is my favorite. It can he boring in the beginning, but it only gets better as you keep on reading. I almost gave up on it because of the slow romance and the MC being too low-key, but now I really love those parts.

The slow romance really makes you appreciate every little moment between the MC and the ML. And the fact that we see how their relationship gradually develops make it much more satisfying, when they finally become lovers.

The MC being low-key means that the effect is... more>> much greater every time he reveals his abilities. It is unfair that he doesn't get any credit for his work, but the author does make up for it later on. He will get the recognition that he deserves. <<less
