Lu Lin resigned from his job in the big city, returned to the countryside, and inherited the convenience mart left by his parents. Then a thunderstorm sent Lu Lin to an unfamiliar ancient era. Lu Lin was reborn as a young man with the same name and surname as himself, and he was about to be married to a fierce Bio who goes up the mountain to fight tigers.

Adjusting to ordinary farming, not a long story.

Note: In this story, “Bios” typically have manly features and a birthmark shaped like a flower on their forehead. They are not as tall as men and they are able to bear children, but childbirth is more difficult than it is for women.

It was interesting in the beginning but became too tedious to read at the latter parts.

I expected the MC to be OP since he has a convenience store. I also liked how the MC and ML simply broke relations to blood sucking relatives and they don't care about the villagers opinions. They don't bother with keeping their reputation. And when tbey got rich, they tried to be lowkey. Those are the things that I liked.

Maybe it's just Chinese culture to have messy extended family issues. And it shows in the... more>> novels so much I got tired of it so it was refreshing that they just didn't bother with them. However, I don't like how the story keeps on mentioning horrible stuff that keeps on happening to the Chen and Lu clans. Like, why should the readers care for their misfortune? Even though they broke relations they still annoy people around them.

I thought this novel have potential to create compelling characters but all of them are actually 1D characters.

There aren't any sense of conflict. MC and fam just earn money, eat food and that's it. The interesting characters have not much screen time.

It's not that bad but I'm dropping this. <<less

I don't get how this novel got a low rating, it's a good novel featuring slice of life. It was satisfying to read the progress of the characters. It doesn't have much face slapping which is good as it is just a wholesome read. It's worth your while.

Love reading this! It’s a nice slice of life, a journey of being poor to becoming rich, love both main characters, love their siblings, MAINLY FOOD THAT MY STOMACH GROWLED A LOT, annoying family members that will get some face slaps, and etc.

The type you’d enjoy a small nice life while reading this novel and full of imaginary foods. There’s no loss in reading this novel tbh.
Small con is that there’s some character that I didn’t like because of being too shameless (for ex. You kept coming to a person house out of nowhere everyday or every time and take half of their food and go back whenever there’s new product out) but still in good terms with main characters as long as money is coming in anyways other than that it’s good to read ~

Its a really good one. I liked it very much, not overly romanticised like few other novels but also it has very lil' fluff between MC and ML. It mainly focuses on the gradual rise in their living standards and also some drama from the annoying relatives.

Overall it's a really nice and light one.

Eagerly waiting for next chapters 😄

And a big thank you for the translator for picking it up ❤️

So far it's really interesting. The relationship between ML and MC isn't super fluffy. The story is more focused on business management and their estranged family drama.

2.5 stars, but rounded up because I did finish it. I agree with the other negative and neutral reviews, the writing just isn't good and there are many issues. Its a great concept with poor execution.

The writing is a basic overview of what is happening, it keeps the reader distached. Really hard to form attachments to any of the characters

The lack of details and random facts and situations are dropped in the story making it seem unorganized. Many situations could have had some foreshadowing chapters before making the story more... more>> engaging.

None of the characters in this novel are likeable, I didn't hate them, they just bland.

The MC is lazy but ambitious. Righteous, but puts literally kids to work and let's the marry at like 13 or 14.

ML is really meh, he is barely in the story in the 2nd half.

Their romance is non existent. There is no sweet loving times, there is no fade to black naughty times, there is literally nothing. They feel more like business partners than lovers.

The ML's second brother is annoying. The author kept trying to force it like he actually looked up to MC and was some great businessman. The brother wasn't nice to MC, wasn't exactly mean, but kind of tsundere with him. It didn't feel like he looked up to him. He also wasn't a great businessman, he just took credit for all of MC's ideas (which were just modern food and business models MC stole) I never understood why the brother got credit for MC businesses, the reason it was because the MC was an official seemed weak.

The ML's third brother was annoying. I really not sure what he brought to the story. He idolized ML and basically didn't care about MC. His only purpose was to marry well. I could have done with out him in the novel

The 2 children were really underdeveloped. Like the third brother they were annoying and just hated on MC. They were being raised as bear children, but then all of a sudden they were great and promising after the last time skip.

The convenience store/space aspect is completely forgotten about after the first quarter of the story, then is randomly brought back up at the end. I probably won't ever read this again even if it gets completely translated. The story just irks me, had so much potential, but is ruined by the writing. <<less

Tried to read it. TL is readable but very messy (I read the Flying Lines TL at skynovel). I initially thought that the author would explore the magical space some more, since the title made it seem like a big deal... but it turns out to be pretty pointless in this story (T.T), according to commenters and reviewers. SO, I'll come back and reread another time! It doesn't seem to bad, but from what I can see it's not all that good either.

UPDATE REVIEW: October 28, 2022

I made it further... more>> this time! After reading all sorts of messy MTLs, the quality of the TL was a bit more bearable for me. The reason I ended up quitting is because it got kind of boring. I think it's fine if you're looking for a chill novel with strong slice of life vibes, but anything outside of that?? Nah.

The initial premise of the story: The MC (Gong!) transmigrates back into Ancient Times with a magical space filled with the products of the convenience store he had owned in his previous world. He uses this and his modern knowledge in order to make a name for himself during such backward times. So that's how the story starts!! But, as the story goes further, it kind of loses focus. It becomes more about the drama of other people (face-slapping that is not so satisfying because the people in question are not so reprehensible in my opinion) as well as occassional poor-to-rich developments that don't leave much impact because of a lack of drive. I just didn't care that about the characters all that much, I guess. They're not bad characters, but they lack a little something something, and are pretty easily forgotten.

All in all? Not a bad read, I'm not doing a full review because I didn't make it halfway. But my rating for the novel is around 2/5 stars. Specifically, idk... maybe 2.5? <<less

very little romance, and more foodie. MC and ML has no chemistry apart from the first chapters. I wish they'd give more interactions between the two of them because I feel like they're like acquaintance, not lovers. Lack of character development too, they've grown, but still the same as before.

Damn I wanna know more abt Mai and An married life...: (The ending felt kinda unsatisfying but overall it's a fun and relaxing read 😸 Also the translations hv a lot of typo and sometimes it's kinda confusing and awkward but isokay I'm still grateful for the translator (s) for picking this up. At least it's easier to read than MTL 😊

Oh also umm I can't count / predict the characters age at all cuz the timeline is kinda confusing... For example they said Mai already reach a... more>> marriagable age right... I thought Mai was already 16 or so but then An is described as 11/12 y/o kid at first and Mai is younger than him for few years and I was like "what...." But Chai and Chi already "do it" right...? So how old is them exactly... Moreover Chi is pregnant after that sjjsjs. Lastly An is 16 or 17 when Mai and him get married right? How old is Mai again? 👁️👄👁️

P/S: Chai and Chi sons never got any dialogue hdjdjejej cries <<less

A really good read, I really like the process and how they grew.

the romance was bland 0 flufyness, but it was ok. I really don't like the final, was rushed and they left many things out.

I enjoyed this alot!! Got a vip pass in flying lines to read because I wanted to read more and couldn't wait for it to be free - the story is really sweet!!

There's not much drama between the two characters, it's a family story because the CPs are the core but the side cps are branching out to have their own families as well! The main plot and focus of the world building is evolved around families. But you don't just get bad characters, you get to be involved with... more>> everyone - they grow up, age, and it's like you're looking at different generations. I found this very interesting because you start to care about everyone as well.

The re-occuring theme is about business building and family drama, so if you're worried there's not much face slapping I'd say there's a pretty good amount of it! It's not as harsh as some of the other novels but they don't necessarily kill off characters - so you get to enjoy it with the concept of time moving forward!

It's highly addictive (to me) even though the cycle can be a bit repetitive, but I don't mind it at all. A very nice transmigrated to a different time story! One of the things that I really appreciate is the way you're not just stuck on the perspectives of the CP but the narrative switches even to cannon fodders. Anyways, thank you so much to the author and the translator for bringing this to us!! It's a wonderful story, don't forget to buy and support the original novel as well! <<less
