Chi Wen’s short life has been bumpy. Ever since he could remember things, he was already living in the orphanage, growing up without a family. Later, he entered the entertainment industry and became a first generation film emperor. However, he finally ended up in ruin. In the end, Chi Wen jumped off the top floor of a building, but did not expect that he would get a chance to open his eyes again…

Back to his infancy, Chi Wen coldly looked at the woman who was laughing s*upidly in front of him. He waited, waited until the moment she finally abandoned him.

Fu Yuanruo was transmigrated as the cannon fodder in the novel ‘First Generation Movie Queen.’ When she first transmigrated, it happened to be the plot point when the malicious cannon fodder tried to frame the female lead for the last time. After that, her evil deeds would be exposed. The whole netizens mocked, and her father angrily drove her out of the house. A former wealthy and pampered young miss fall into the mud and finally died after accidentally falling into the water…

Because of the high popularity of the original book, the author used the daughter of the original female and male lead as the protagonist for the second book. The villain who had been against the main couple of this sequel also met his just end and died tragically. After his death, the female lead let out some vague words that made readers speculated that this villain was the illegitimate son of the prequel’s cannon fodder.

After recalling the plot, Fu Yuanruo stared at the pregnancy report in her hand. She was torn: should she give birth or not?

I am rereading this novel. At first read I would give it a 4 but after rereading I would give it a 3.

Here's to why. The first time I read this novel I was like it was cute fluff and heartwarming kind of FL with a bun with some face slapping trope which us something most cn novel have. Its a good read at FIRST.

Until I reread it.

Spoiler

1. While I don't mind the FL being a single parent with a Reborn son. I just don't like how the story progress with the ML. Meaning I felt like the romance part is so abrupt.

2. ML knows that Wen Wen is his son pretty early on but the FL didn't know that since she never looked at the man she slept with basically but the moment she learned the Si Yue is Wenwen's father she continue to deny that for like a couple of chapters. And even tho she knows that Si Yue wants to be a responsible father to their son she doesn't let it and let Wenwen continue to misunderstand and bully his Dad. Knowing that Wenwen thought that his dad is someone who bullied his mom with bad intention or something and better of dead one more thing is that he is reborn and grow up an orphaned in the first timeline thinking that his parents abandoned him. This continue for like atleast I think for a couple of chapters.

ITS JUST THAT THERE'S SOMETHING IN ML AND FL'S ACTIONS AFTER KNOWING THAT ML IS HER CHILD'S DAD THAT MADE ME IRRITATED AND ANNOYED. INSTEAD OF TALKING TO EACH OTHER ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITY AND ACTION THEY SHOULD TAKE LIKE THE ADULT THAT THEY ARE.

[collapse]

Anyways its just my opinion this is good read when you're just trying to past time. <<less

Not as good as I thought it would be.

Basically from all the reviews I thought that this novel would be a very cute fluffy heart warming story.

However I ended up not enjoying it much. Here are some of the reasons:

... more>> - Not as fluffy as you would think it is:

Starts off very cute but towards the end it's more about drama and badly done face slapping.

The plot and obstacles thrown in MC's way weren't interesting or fresh. Felt like I knew what would happen next. You never get worried for the MC.

The face slapping wasn't great because the villains never were regretful or envious of her good life. + The villain wasn't good.

You'd think that since the step-sister managed to get the original host disliked by her father and fiance, that she's be very smart and cunning but instead she's kinda dumb and just pretends to be innocent and pitiful all the time.

I never really felt angry on the MC's behalf.

- The MC is way too passive:

MC never fights for herself or get angry when people wrong her.

MC has a tendency to ignore her problems, she just hopes they will go away on their own.

ML protects the MC from everything. As soon as something happens to MC ML is there to save the day. This gets annoying because it breaks the tension and makes the MC seem weak and overly dependent on ML. Ex: At one point we get a sentence saying that the step-sister, our villain, has touched MC's reverse scale, this is at a point where she has a lot of fans and influence so you'd expect MC to actually get revenge on her own but once again ML takes over punishing the step-sister for her.

- The son's personality is inconsistent: kind of mature towards the start but gets more and more childish.

In many reviews people defend the son's childishness on the fact that he's in a child's body which affects him mentally but I disagree, he's still too childish for someone who has lived another life.

What's the point of making him a reborn character if he just acts like a normal kid all the time. + It's my impression that as the writing goes the more dumbed down the son gets, which is weird because him baby is more mature than him toddler.

Feels more like the writer wrote the son as more childish and dumb to make funny and cute scenes but remembered that it wouldn't make sense to make a grown man act like a kid so she just used the excuse of his body is affecting him. <<less

it was amusing at first then annoying... Loved the humble beginnings of the female lead but she became a little annoying when she was being pursued by the ml. The baby was cute but also a little annoying near the end. The routine became very redundant and the tag should be romance as a subplot bec it was literally two or three chapters towards the end. As for the antagonist they were just mediocre...

Woah, actually this is so good. The Son is reincarnated and author is so good at implementing how he was reborn. Since a baby although his mind and soul are mature but how he is act doesn't look so.. The author so good at that, not like other novel where when they reincarnated as a child they still act like an adult.

And something I regret so much that author didnt show us the ending of the Fang and Chang couple. Also I wanna know if Chang knows that FL was drugged by Fang before.

Something I dont like from ML that

Spoiler

He doesn't tell FL after he met her at village that he knows her and he's the father of the son. I know he regret in the end but still dont like the fact he keep act like he dont know anything, the rest he is fine

[collapse]

The arc I like the most is when they are still at village and the son still just a baby. Also I really am crying when read the part where the son realise that his mother (FL) not abandoning him in his past life, instead she is died 😭😭 dang, now I feel sad again <<less

It's a good dog blood novel, with nice face slapping adventure.

Though I didn't find it as unique as other reviews, I did enjoy reading until the end of it. Just that didn't like a bit how they were condeming this story stereotype while also doing it lel, turned me off a lot.

I Mtl the whole story and let me tell you my opinion, this is a hidden gem!!!! You guys!! I’m telling you, if you didn’t read it yet, you don’t know what you’re missing out!!!!
Anyways back to the story, where I’m gonna highlight some of my favourite parts.... here goes nothing

  • KIDS..... despite being reborn and having 20 yr old or something mentality acting like a kid, and brainless at that. Which is super cute and naive, in fact every single kid mentioned are at some point, as either they want to take the MC son away hide in their home, or want marry, these types of scenes what just melts your heart. Like how cute is that because that what’s kids mostly up to these days, whenever they see something they like.
  • Now the MC, she’s totally a badass not some bland and an ignorant person. She’s the most understanding person I have read as a character, like the entire time she takes her own leisure to get together with the ML without expressing if she likes him or not. Or even at the time, when she’s not able to tell who’s interested in her.
  • The ML, ooff, he’s the real star of this entire story. The way he approaches towards the MC is what makes me believe in romance again.
Anyways... apart from my rambling, as I have a high expectations. I do find this story quiet interesting thus, giving three stars but since I accidentally (or is it 😏) pressed on two. Due to certain reasons, like the MC acceptance towards her kid, the entire revenge plot, not forgiving that useless father, some interactions (especially, the scene where the MC and the kid rush from the house to beat the originalMC’s ex-fiancé, like a loach), and the happy ending for the entire family.

THIS IS JUST TOO FRICKING CUTE!

This family is too shameless 😂

Of course the "peaceful-loving, gentle, and elegant" mom have a son who is handsome and "kind and not beating evil." Is present too 😂 its a 100000000/100 for me. The interaction between son and father though 😂✊

This is a fairly calm revenge story.

The main point of the story is that Fu Yuanruo wants to be left alone and live her life with her child but the antagonist just will not leave her alone.

You have two viewpoints.

Mother - Fu Yuanruo

Son - Chi Wen -> Fu Wenwen -> Si Wen

Spoiler

Fu Yuanruo transmigrated on the day she was fed the aphrodisiac. She ran away to try to get away from the paid rapist but she ran into Si Yue instead who was also drugged. This is the start of the difference of the original story.

She feels like she needs to hide and survive past 2 years so runs away immediately. She goes to her home town from her previous life and meets good people. This part was very heart warming.

[collapse]

The point of view will switch between the mother and son as the story progresses. This is where you will see the disconnect between mothers thoughts and the sons to our enjoyment. Also, there are lots of cutesy actions of the son but remember that he never had motherly love in the previous life.

The story ends at 134. There is an arc after where the son goes back to the orphanage life and looks for his father. Last chapter is about the original Fu Yuanruo who took over the FL life and how she is constantly praying for her.

In the middle of the story, I do feel like it gets a bit slow. Also, the evil stepmother and daughter gets off better than they truly deserve. <<less

W-wait I finished the story what it was so good I didnt notice!

This is such a wholesome story, it brought me to tears on the first part, brought me laughter from the cuteness and it just generally warms my heart from the cuteness

Spoilers on some of the stuff that struck the most but these are some important key notes in the story

Spoiler

The story has 2 main point of views but we mainly follow the transmigrated female lead Fang YunRuo. The other is the reincarnated back to the past baby WenWen

The first original goals of the characters at the start of the story

-FYR wanting WW to never experience his bad ending by being a good mother and shelter him

-WW wanting revenge on his mother why he was 'abandoned' and left to face the cruel world alone

--

WW's point of view from being hostile yet childish because he couldn't fight a baby's instinct was really cute, at the same time youd want to scream ARE YOU BLIND???

But you end up having to understand where that hate came from, he didnt know a lot of things going on behind the scenes that happened in his previous life and he faced the cruelty of the original novels FL and ML ruining his life because he was the 'villain'. The original plot gave him a miserable life without explaination.

Fast forward to a few more chapters that gave him hints and realizations that his mom does love him, this gave him doubts of his past. What if he was never abandoned but because his mother was actually killed? FYR filled this plot hole in the story for him in this life because we never truly knew what happened to OG FYR

just him realizing that he was actually loved, and fully accepted his mother made me cry real tears. Thats when he started to truly be a child and experience the childhood that he never had. (TwT)

And here comes ML (daddy) , both WW and FYR are literally the fairytale family. But I have to admit, poor ML hahaha he cant compete with his own son for his wife's affection. The flow is slow but not too slow, there is reasonable distance and closeness. But im glad ML was able to win over his family in the end (by making WW his great ancestor hahaha) and become a great dad

So, I read this novel a while ago, and was waiting for more translated chapters to come out. The translator did a pretty good job, and I finally decided to try reading the Machine Translation (MTL) after rereading the TLs because the story seemed too good to resist. But, oh boy, was I disappointed. It felt like at some point the author's motivation just vanished into thin air. And in the end, the plot didn't even match the title.

At the beginning, the story had a lot of emotional moments between... more>> the main character (MC) and the kid, which got me hooked. I expected that emotional depth to continue when the male lead (ML) was introduced, and it did to some extent. But then the author just kind of dropped the ball on that front. In the later parts of the story, we were left to fill in the gaps ourselves, which was frustrating. I signed up for an emotional story, not fill in the blanks

The kid's story arc started off strong. He held a grudge against the MC and rejected her affection, and you could really feel his pain as a 30-year-old trapped in an infant's body. The story peaked at a certain incident, and I was hoping for more moments like that. But sadly, things took a nosedive after that, and the emotional depth just fizzled out.

Spoiler

When he finds outs that he wasn't actually abandoned but the MC died (or most probably had been mu*dered). It's a very emotional scene where we can feel his love for his mother as he would rather be abandoned. After this he becomes so sticky to his mom (//>.<//)

[collapse]

MC wasn't some super overpowered character with a ridiculous plot buff. Her rise to popularity made sense since she worked hard cultivating orchids. She didn't have some magical ability that could change the entire plot, which was refreshing. And the kid, despite being reborn, didn't suddenly become a genius with all this random knowledge to get rich quick. That made sense too because he was an orphan in his past life and focused on the entertainment industry. Also, the ML was a bit blackbellied, and that stayed consistent throughout the novel. He made calculated moves that sometimes backfired hilariously. And thank goodness there was no weird competition between the ML and the kid for the MC's affection. That trope makes me feel icky.

Here are the things which made the rating of the story drop in my opinion

    • About the kid
      Spoiler

After learning the truth about him getting "abandoned", it seemed like the kid's IQ went offline. We understand that he is affected by a child's body and wants to compensate for his lost childhood in his previous life. But his mind of 30yr old only comes online when dealing with schemes in front of the "villains". You would expect him to understand that even though he has an adult's mind he won't be able to do a lot of stuff including protecting his mom on his own and will try to find external help, but no he just keeps claiming that he's an adult without being able to do anything. His mental age just serves him to make a kid with very high self-esteem. It hasn't been useful in the "plot." It is also very frustrating how he becomes a total brat after learning that the ML is his father. Before knowing about his mother's actual situation, he put all the blame on her and after knowing about the ML he blames him for all his past misfortunes. If he's a "30yr old" shouldn't he try to understand the whole situation instead of just assuming what happened? The dude didn't even know he had a kid!

As the story neared the 100th chapter the kid just became a very spoiled, overly possessive, and immature brat with no maturity (due to being reborn) to be seen.

      [collapse]
    • About the FL/MC
      Spoiler

Let me say, I love strong FLs. At the start of the story the MC is portrayed as a very strong woman, and I loved it. How she takes care of everything while still knowing when she needs the help of others. She knows her ability and protects her kid without overestimating herself. But when they moved to the city, especially after she got the fever, it seemed like the high temperature burned off any personality she has. Till now the impression we had of her as a strong woman and a good mother is completely blown away. She gives in to any of her kid's requests since he's cute. The author made her into a very one-dimensional weak woman who only listens to her child. At this point, it's also clear that Wenwen thinks his father was not a good man and she lets him think so. She knows that she had avoided the person arranged by her stepsister and had slept with some random person. She lets him have a hateful view of the father figure which becomes the biggest reason why this story went to shit. Also, how can she justify the original drugging someone no matter what. When the ML confessed to her, she has been so wishy-washy throughout without saying no to him. She feels uncomfortable and awkward because of his pursuit of her but has never once said a clear no. She leaves everything to her kid by saying "She won't think too much about it and leave it to Wenwen." At first, we understand why she is so cautious and reluctant to accept his proposal but as the story dragged on it feels like although she likes the ML, she won't accept him because she wants a flowery romance that will come to her naturally. She also told the kid about his biological father without any discussions and planning which led to a sh*t show. I feel sorry for ML here.

      [collapse]
    • About ML
      Spoiler

ML's character hasn't been consistent throughout. In the start with how laid back and lazy his personality is shown, we can't guess his affluent background, but slowly author forgets about this setting, and we get a standard handsome, capable, responsible, and in love with his child's mother ML. His unique setting at the start was also an attractive plot point. I was expecting cute interaction between him and the cub revolving around their eccentric traits, but the author just forgot about it. At some point, I was frustrated with his approach towards the matter of FL getting to know about him being her kid's father but in later chapters realized that was one of the best approaches as FL's personality had been flushed down the drain. Another thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was how the dude enables his son to try and kill a fetus.

      [collapse]
    • DUBCON
      Spoiler

I don't know if it will be considered dub-con or non-con as both were drugged, but this issue was brushed under the rug. It infuriated me so much when FL says it was given that a drugged woman threw herself on a man so he wouldn't be able to control it. This destroyed her image as a "strong" woman. The ML brings up that he was sane in the start and is sorry for taking her advantage, the FL DOESN'T REACT WTF? It would have been better if she was angry or she, but she didn't hold him accountable or anything. It was mentioned that the ML was also in a bad state after being drugged since also didn't originally realize who it was he was sleeping with, so I was okayish with it. But this revelation left a bad taste in my mouth and was the only reason I could endure reading chapters 90 and onwards. So that I can see him actually suffer. When Wenwen didn't accept him, I was like there's finally one character who sees the wrong but no, it wasn't because he thought that the dude r*ped (?) his mom instead because he had past grievances. TF?

      [collapse]
    • The villains
      Spoiler

Had some hopes for them, but they aren't much. We are never told how exactly the original was bullied or given much description about her horrible life. This leads to no hatred towards the villains, only extremeee annoyance. To fix this author inserted FXR's plan to hurt Wenwen.

The story is surprisingly really good, I didn't expect to enjoy the story so much but I totally appreciate the work that the writer put a lot of in making the relationship between the FL and ML come naturally and not too hasty. The ML is not the kind of cold, domineering, stone face, typical ML. Even though he is still the kind of ML with a lot of power that can surpass, bankrupt the original leads in the book, he is still likeable.

The reborn villain is also very likeable... more>> even though he is a mature man who got reborn in his baby's body the writer ease the discomfort of such an idea with making the reborn villain not overpower in remembering things to make him a genius, atc.

I love the extras and if you finish the book until the end. The extras are very good they actually told a story about 3 different lives.

I really liked it! I’d say the characters are split into two types: the protagonist side, who are mature, reasonable humans, although a bit Mary Sue-ish, and the antagonist side, who are almost a parody of their archetypes. Like they exist just so you can laugh at how other authors write their characters (since this is an isekai story, and those characters were once the original protagonists.)

The romance is VERY slow burn and kinda in the background the whole time. Even when their relationship develops, it’s not dramatized at... more>> all. Read this for cute family bonding, but don’t expect overt romance.

The son’s rebirth makes for some cute and funny “I’m not a baby!!” moments but it also leads to some touching moments. His previous life’s trauma makes it difficult for him to accept the good-hearted intentions of others, but he slowly learns that in this life, he is loved and has a family, and he doesn’t have to worry about being abandoned ever again.

My only gripe is that the main characters get what they want too easily.
Spoiler

FL decides to become a live-streamer? She immediately becomes the nation’s top streamer. The son literally exists? He’s the most beautiful most popular child in the whole village and the whole entertainment industry.

[collapse]

However, I can ignore that flaw because I care more about their relationship dynamics. There were countless times I thought someone was going to overreact and cause drama but every time, it didn’t happen and they ended up quickly resolving the situation maturely.

I loved when
Spoiler

the ML (who has a huge ego and thinks he can scheme his way into a happy ending) ended up facing the consequences for his plotting. The author loves to give him the short end of the stick in their family relationships and he totally deserves it, lol.

Overall, it’s a sweet un-dramatic story, the villains are nothing more than a laughable nuisance, and the family dynamics and maturity are amazing. <<less

It's great. The novel was very heartwarming and wholesome. I love the mother-son relationship between Fu Yunruo and Wenwen the best. Especially when Wenwen found out the truth of the previous life and finally accepted Yunruo.

As for ml, he's okay. MC and ml's development was a bit late, and slow. But I was still happy that they ended up together as a happy family of three.

Spoiler

In the previous life in the novel, the oriHost had Wenwen from another man. When FL transmigrated, she went to the wrong room and did snusnu with ML (both were drugged).

[collapse]
She was very kind and gentle as a mom to Wenwen and is also a very hardworking florist (?) that specializes in orchids.

The ML's existence wasn't too strong, but he was the one who did most of the revenge part for the FL and the bunbun. Although he is a scheming dogman, he respects FL and Wenwen's boundaries and tried to do things step-by-step. He was very considerate of their thoughts and protected and supported them behind the scenes. He even apologized to FL for touching her that night since he was a bit sober in the beginning, but he ended up falling into temptation. He's one of those great MLs who's dominant when needed be, and at the same time, knows when to admit his mistakes.

The FL and ML relationship was very subtle as FL didn't want to get married and have another child (she didn't want Wenwen to experience what oriHost experienced). The family dynamics was cute, and the side characters were lovable! No second ML/second FL here! Only b"tch OriFL and scumbag OriML were really baaad characters.

Over-all, this novel is a pretty good way to past the time~ Buns are always cuuute~ <<less

It's another 'pregnant with someone child, run away, and raising the bun while living a new life with newly found easy cheat skill and other convenience things' plus 'conquer the netizen's heart through live streaming'. What makes it interesting for me, at least for the first half of novel, is that the son is a reborn 'villain'. I almost cry when he monologue his realization about why his mother left him alone. The mother-son duo interaction is so damn cute! And the fact that the father realizes earlier is also... more>> a plus for me.

However, despite being the title character, the dynamics of the story were divided between FL and ML (the son)... and it's out of balance, I think. Most likely because the son starts acting like real child (which the Author rationalized) but on the other hand his appearance and significant are reduced in important scenes. His past as actor and the knowledge about the antagonists did not and will not influences his mother decision (... which quite understandable since FL decided to live streaming off-face and he's still a baby) because setting. As the 'villain' son he can only monologue about his past lives without being unable to affect his mother, who doesn't need any help. This son as character is kind of... waste, plot-wise.

Then the ML start to 'shift' to the father, which makes the story proceed between FL, ML, and the now-tritagonist 'villain' son. And then I thought: what the use of this reborn villain son? I leave because the convenience becoming too convenient and everything else is too plain to continue.

Sure, based on spoiler from another reviewer, it seems he still has an important role but I expect more.

This novel is not romance-centric but you can see traces of it throughout. It is mainly fluff and family.

I like how the FL, ML and the baby interacts. I laughed very much. I am envious of their family.

CW was presented beautifully with a mindset of an adult in a child's body. He wasn't strange or weird due to what time travel. Some novels write characters like this and it feels like people should be suspicious.

I also like the extras.... more>>
