Author is very well versed on the time period, he knows customs and cultures well; you can say that a greek is really a greek and a persian is really a persian from his writings. Just for the history and authors diligence, this novel deserves 5 stars.

Diamond in the Rough. If you like Kingdom Building theme and War Strategy in Mediaval Times. Give this novel a chance. The MC is a wise man who use his wit and intelligence. Unlike other novels whose MC are so dense or Muscle-brained idiots. The MC in this novel was very likeable and you will always root on what decisions and actions he will do next. So far, in chapter 30, it was a very amazing read. He is turning to a great leader of Greek warriors

okay, I am reading this novel and I am shocked by how historically accurate it is. Other readers have stated this before, but they don't really give a good idea of it means. This novel is set during the retreat of the ten thousand. This is set in 400BCE, and to give an idea of that means it is after the formation of the classical phalanx, but before the birth of the first western professional military (Macedonians). While the tactics the MC uses aren't s*upidly advanced, the fact remains that... more>> most armies couldn't perform it because none of them are what would be considered a modern army. The ten thousand are an exception because they have fought several years together and are otherwise well-disciplined and equipped. The fact that the author realizes this and highlights it is really well done. <<less

Though I read the MTL I will still read the translated chapters.

Thoughts:

Why does it have to end T.T I just felt like crying when I read the last chapter. I am too immersed in reading this novel, there are chapters that I even cried due to deaths of some important characters. Either they died in old age or in war.

Theres so much words I wanted to talk about this novel, but I dont know how to. I only know that out of hundreds of novels ive read in almost 5... more>> years, this is my most favorite kingdom building novel. I cant imagine how much reaearch the author does while writing this book. Because of this book I had some time watching 2hours of ancient greece history in you Youtube.

I wish the author will keep on writting more interesting novel and I hope you have a good health and be inspire more in writting. <<less

If you ever wonder where to find a fiction that

    • Has an isekai with a badass MC, likeable but not op
    • Logical plot
    • Can you actually relate about in historical matter
Damn move your ass and read it

---

Historical novel is the hardest genre to write, this MHAG and Napoleon in 1812 are both executed each premise flawlessly, by high margin, more so in novelupdates. Give both a read.

simply awesome, this is the kind of story you would like to see in historical genre with kingdom building, this is how it's supposed to be.

unfortunately at the time I'm writing this translator are gone. Leaving us with insatiable thirst for more.

not much to say, it's like what I felt when I read lord of the mysteries. Author did his research.

it's honestly one of hidden gem.

This novel is a breath of fresh air for the Historical genre and Kingdom Building tag of NU and Webnovel's in general.

It is at a level of quality that, any other novel that have and focus on Historical genre and Kingdom Building tag, pale in comparison (This is not overreaction and in fact can be said to be rather stingy in praise.)

The author IS meticulous in his writing of various characters and has such a deep understanding of History that I'm actually ashamed that I considered myself to be... more>> well learned before.

Though it doesn't show, you can see that each Volume of the Novel has had a considerable amount of time, effort, and knowledge invested in them which make's me speculate that the Author might have been writing this beauty for year's now but didn't upload them but instead perfected them over the years.

Once this is finished and fully translated it's popularity will sky rocket like no other and could have it's own cult following. If it manages to get an excellent company to get it adapted to manga form with the same quality as Kingdom then there is no doubt that it will become THE manga to dominate the Isekai genre and Kingdom, and Army tag for the foreseeable decades. <<less

"Came for copper but found gold" moments.

If you like kingdom building, and a legionary fanboi then this one is a must! Highly recommended!

MC is not some overpowered ruthless maniac, and doesnt have a vastly absurd amounts of modern knowledge, but he is great at managing his people, he has good eyes at searching/discerning talents and cares for his people. He doesnt initiate wars unless provoked and values friendship and alliances very much. Hes a good tactician, great at commanding armies also.

Its just frustrating that I caught up with the raws,... more>> anyways goodjob author for dishing us out with this great novel, keep up the great work.

Anyways I highly recommend u guys to read this one.

I cant seem to find anything bad about this novel, if you like Kingdom Building then this is a the book for you.

The Plot starts off with a Chinese person transmigrating onto a person in ancient Greece (It starts of somewhat generic) that uses his knowledge that he learnt in the future to his own good, like creating new foods/ Army Strategy and what not, instead of being dumb he actually uses his brain so its a great novel without a dumb MC

Characters are well done and giving story time... more>> so you wont forget most of them after one chapter,

Romance could have been better buts its mainly focused on Kingdom Building so Romance is not the main focus but don't get me wrong the romance is still there and is pretty well done

Translation might possibly the best I have read, the translating crew give detail explanation on most terms and map geo-locations

This Book is a must read I rate 5/5 <<less

Among "historical" novel, this one is the best. It may be not 100% accurate but the knowledge of the author is very deep, it's can really educate you about many things that not widely known even among history enthusiasts. And atmosphere is superb. Also, MC is not really that OP, he was lucky to have wast amount of relevant knowledge, but it focused on two spheres, he doesn't suddenly becomes some superspearmen or something, just government official with interest in Midditerrean history, He can fail. He can be wrong... more>> about things and listen advices of others. Massive amount of his success belongs to ability of recognizing talents and delegation. The enemies aren't faceless and for the most part isn't really evil. A great read. <<less

I am just here to mention that this novel is in fact, a harem novel.

Davos takes his second wife around chapter 350. So the top reviewer claiming that he remains loyal is false. Other than that, great kingdom building and war. But the character development of the novel went to shit, especially since Davos and his first wife had such a nice buildup until they got married, but the second wife was literally forced onto him. But he just kinda gave into lust.

So yeah, great kingdom building. Not so great... more>> character development. <<less

Spoiler

The author is well read and has thorough knowledge about ancient greek and roman history. The plot progresses pretty well. The story and battles are good. The kingdom building is very good. I would say this is the top 10 kingdom building novels of all time. It is similar to the Holy Roman Empire which IMO is best in Kingdom building so check it out if you liek this one.

The only con is that the MC is very bad at politics, even though he beats his enemy cities (Crotone, Tarantum)

Story looks good. The author shows that he has knowledge about the time the story is in.

MC is not an overpowered dude and doesn't have all the knowlodge of mankind as you sometimes see in this tipe of novels. He is very knowledgable but still realistic for most of the time.

Great read so far.
