In 9012, the world became a high-temperature melting furnace, animals and plants died, urban infrastructure was paralyzed, water and electricity were cut off, the world became a large-scale hunger arena.

Su Mian was reborn three months before the end of the world, and accidentally got a scarlet jade gourd, which opened the planting space.

She resolutely ended her college course, returned to her hometown to farm, and built up high walls to resist the famine era.

After the end of the world, the major hidden families had come out of the mountain.

Luo Hansheng, the first person who came out, was ruthless and unkind. No one knew that he had been having the same dream for years, in that dream, he spoiled a woman almost insanely, and then the woman stabbed him and ran away.

The man sneered. When he found this woman, he would definitely cramp her and make her feel ashamed.

Later, the man found Su Mian in the cliff hole of Xiaoshan Village and coaxed her, “Follow me, I can give you everything you want ~”

I didn't expect it to be Xianxia but it's really good. It's apocalyptic but the story started before the apocalypse and showed how the people survived. Usually an apocalyptic setting will show violent, want to be the king, and just killing everywhere, but this one shows a more positive apocalypse where people build cities and adapted too fast to the situation.

The romance is also good. Basically, he was too yandere in the previous life, but is more understanding in the rebirth although he does not know about the previous life

Quite like this story, it's actually quite a light read. (with alot of dog food) Not much dog drama, or aghast. Contrary to the synopsis above. This is a fantasy story, so don't dwell too much on the details.😅 (the most surprisingly are those powerful strong super rich families op people are actually don't have deep " normal" education... lol. (I guess they always in the jungle training their superpowers...) thats why I said don't dwell on the details... But I do like the apocalypse of the... more>> global warming rather than always the cliche zombie apocalypse. Which is actually more accurate if we do end up in the end of the world.

For me the MC "aghast" live is that she was betrayed and sold by her best friend. But later on the buyer (ML) actually treated her quite well. It's just that ML had a backlashes of his op powers and his worldview is a bit askew (you will learn in the later chapter) And I guessed that given her circumstances, apocalypse/betrayal/ isolation/ obsessive, controlling, moody scary (master) ML her mind just broke and kill the ML. After rebirth she found out that his circumstances were not what they seems. (summery = it's abit misunderstandings) but I feel if after rebirth MC does not awaken her powers maybe the ML also will be the same unreasonable being, given his situation.
So I guess the rebirth are actually a second chance for them, a healing alternative of their lives. And actually the whole 3/4 of the novel is actually a lots of fluff, and op upgrading. it's a short read, each chapter very short, can read all in one day. If you just want something to pass time this novel is entertaining also. Thank you. <<less

There are definiteky a lot of plotholes and I've got so many complaints inside me regarding how the characters are set up, their line of thinking and so on, especially MC, plus I don't really like the ML nor Mo Gui but other than that, it was ok. I'm still intrigued so I'm gonna keep reading it till I either finish all the chapters, or get bored later on then drop it. Gonna edit this review until then.

Edit: Now it's just plain ridiculous. Gonna drop it, thanks for the fun... more>> scenes. <<less

Story is enjoyable enough. It's a fairly light read with more summarizing of offscreen events then involved story telling. Most of the focus is on the relationship and the apocalypse is more of a backdrop but still well integrated.

The story as a series of events is actually pretty good it just lacks substance and detail. This could be an amazing story if rewritten by a better writer and fleshed out. As it is, it's a light casual read for those who like a more exciting setting without the horror.

All in all, it was a good read.

I used MTL for the rest and I was able to get the gist of the story. Of course, the translator's version is better so one may want to wait for its completion.

Tho I wanted the story to be more fleshed out, it was still okay as it didn't branch out to much and mainly focused on its point where the regrets of the last life was changed for the better the second time around.

I generally like apocalypse story and this story's premise was actually quite good. It's a pity that there were many things that made me a bit disappointed with it.

First, it's about the world building. I could only say that the world building was seriously messed up. It's fine to make a fantasy world but the author should make other things inside the world "fantasy" too. For example: the temperature measurement. The temperature in this story could be as high as thousand degrees celcius. According to common sense, a human wouldn't... more>> survive in that temperature (even iron would melt at around 1500 degrees celcius). Even if the characters in this novel were superhumans, the materials around them weren't. How could a house still intact and they could still rode a vehicle around? The solution: made entirely new name for the measurement and the materials inside the world so as not to clash with the readers logic (yes, we're not s*upid).

Second, the relationship between MC and ML made me uncomfortable. ML's reason to fall in love with MC felt so shallow and their relationship was toxic both in the past and their current life. In the past, ML knew that he had a violent tendency when his power was out of control but he still forced MC to be with him and repeatedly abused her. If he really loved her, he wouldn't keep her by his side to avoid hurting her. As for in the present life, he was still that domineering. Although his temper improved greatly and he didn't force himself to MC, he still continuously invaded her life even though he knew that she was uncomfortable because of it. And he marked her as his own even before MC trully accepted him. Even after all of that, MC still forgave ML a bit too easy.

Well, at least overall, it wasn't a terrible reading experience and it's happy ending too. <<less

Short one so it's a bit lacking, however, there was a decent attempt at world building. There is very little drama and mostly pure fluff.

In their 1st life, the MC never developed power so the ML couldn't control his and rendering his unbearable possessiveness and fluctuating extreme emotions. With nothing keeping him in check, he could only love the MC with insanity which eventually lead to her (theirs) 1st demise. There's no explanation as to how certain abilities were learned, so fair warning that details were glossed over... Don't read... more>> if you're into details hahah.

I absolutely live for these types of apocalyptic world ending stories mixed w a bit of magical spaces & OP, obsessive MLs. It was a nice read despite how basic it was... Translator also did a great job! <<less

Everyone has different preferences, at first, I was hesitant to read this because sometimes the ratings are quite the same with my preference. I was desperate to read a good novel that's why I'm reading every novel now even if it has low ratings but this novel took me off guard. This is the first time I left a review on a novel but anyway, let's get into it.

Setting:

I thought that every apocalypse tag would be a zombie apocalypse one but like I said, this took me off guard because... more>> it's not. It's kind of realistic if I may say because the setting is like a living hell? Sorry, my vocabs are quite limited so I can't describe it properly. It's like a furnace, before the apocalypse happen, natural disaster happened first around the globe or the country before it rained fire. If you are a christian or a religious person or a person who reads bible then you can call this as the end of world that the bible said. So going back, I don't if humans are possible to live in a 100° Celsius and above temperature but this is a fantasy novel so everything can happen. It's not quite informative because my opinions are always sidetracking this review so I hope you get the gist of it.

Spoiler

I don't know what happened at the end of the novel but in their previous lives, after the two years more than a thousand degree celsius temperature happened, a moment of peacefulness arrived and they thought that the apocalypse already ended but the low temperature began to happen. That's the time when the previous life MC runaway from the previous life ml.

[collapse]

MC:

The MC is a female because I never read a novel with a male protagonist before except if there is no romance at it. How should I put this? The MC is likable. She's smart and knows what to do. I've read something similar to this plot not long ago but that one is a zombie apocalypse one and the female MC there is a cold-blooded one which should be the attitude of every regressed MC who experienced the dark side of humanity. Their only similarity is that they're both imprisoned and runaway, thr MC here in this novel, before she live the life that she wants to, she died.

I really like how she save the villagers.

Anyway, I will continue the review later when I remember this again because my laziness is kicking in.

Ps: this is an HE btw. <<less

I have no clue as to why some of the comments are so harsh.
Sure the author could’ve done better but overall it’s a decent novel.

There were a few confusing things. I feel like the author changed their mind a couple times and forgot to correct the earlier chapters.

And the description of the FL and ML’s relationship is more complicated than we’ve been told.

Yes, he’s in love with her in past and present but it’s difficult to express his emotions due to his past. So it seemed like he was cruel and abusive more than she had led us to believe.

I’m not saying he wasn’t. I’m saying she made us despise him when we could just be really really really annoyed at him.

In the past lives, he was protecting her in his own way from his enemies. He did it horribly and totally wrong.

Some say she was traumatized and incredibly scared of him but for the majority, she was scared of him remembering she killed him and what he’d do to her as revenge.

Spoiler

After he found out, she got along with him more when she realized he wasn’t going to purposely hurt her

[collapse]

The author did a decent job overall. I wish it was smoothed out a bit more and there were more explanations about the powers and beasts but what do you expect out of a total futuristic fantasy novel?
You looked up the tag, “Male Yandere” and this is what ya got.

After reading several chapters, I can only say;WTF. A reborn FL who was OP and had the iconic miraculous space in the apocalypse world and a psychotic 'powerful' ML. This could've been a good read if weren't for the exaggeration of the author. I know that this is a fantasy novel, but I'm sorry that I can't bear to abandon my brain to read this. Overall experience of reading this was cringe and it made me want to hide from embarrassment everytime exaggerated words would show up.

A great and pretty quick read. I was a little hesitant to read a futuristic based novel, but I fell in love with it! I love how sensible the MC and even ML are most of the time. There were a few places in the novel I had unanswered questions, but I was satisfied with how it ended. I’ll probably read this book again in the near further!

First life: After the apocalypse, people developed elemental powers to survive a grim, dark era. The greatest powers were cruel, indifferent, or mad, and the weak suffered. ... more>>
Spoiler

The ML obtained great power at the price of madness, during which he would abuse the FL. She escaped him but died. In remorse, he sacrificed himself to give her a chance at rebirth.

[collapse]

After rebirth: The FL plans for the coming apocalypse and develops her own powers. She protects her loved ones, sets up her own safe place, and with her preparations, foreknowledge and new powers, she has a very different relationship with the ML when they cross paths again.
Spoiler

She heals him, so that he never descends into madness and the first life is averted. Instead, he becomes a loving, spoiling, domineering-CEO type and follows her around. And because he is the strongest person, and is also able to stay sane in this life thanks to her powers, the entire post-apocalyptic world is a safer, more civilized place than the first life.

[collapse]

I liked it. As for suspension of disbelief, if I can read about the FL's rebirth, elemental powers, the apocalypse, cultivating by absorbing beast cores, etc., then I can allow myself to believe a fully functional base and trading system could be set up in a month. (Although, I did find it hard to imagine anything surviving 1, 000 C (when water boils at 100 C), and how the supermarket food was still frozen months into the apocalypse when presumably the power grid died... but I just enjoyed the story)

Towards the end,
Spoiler

the plot runs faster and is written in broader strokes until the end. I would have preferred more detailed and slow progression about how they survive the final days until the apocalypse is over, and more storytelling about the entire cast of characters.

Not really my thing, I got tired of it after a bit. I hate reoccurring villains the most and and the backround story was a bit confusing (?). And call me selfish but it was frustrating for me to see how the MC tries to save so many people, in the apocalypse no less

As a note for all those who are sensitive to this:
Spoiler

The ML r*ped her. For years. He imprisoned her without explanation, controlled her, and r*ped her as he pleased. While she did try to talk to him, it comes down to "he just did whatever he wanted". I see people romanticing this in their comments but nope. That's not overbearing. That's r*pe. She did not know him, she was scared, she refused him.

The pretty much first thing he does when he sees her in the next life is saying "Oh you're mine now. I ALWAYS get what I want."

Author mentions for half a chapter about how she's scared, then the MC switches to "Maybe he's not that bad after all". Girl, he r*ped you for three years?

If you're fine with r*pe...... Well..... Give it a try I guess. Obviously people are liking him.

So while I do enjoy this novel for entertainment, there are a few things that really bug me. Why is the year 9013? The novel is totally modern day setting and technology. Also the temperature feels really unrealistic. I know it is an apocalypse and you need to suspend some belief, but the science part of this novel is lacking in a believable range. Just go forward with the idea that it works because of magic and you will enjoy it a lot more. Also it makes a lot more... more>> sense if you have read some Chinese novels before as background. Some of the reviews complain about things that make sense if you have read other similar books and have a knowledge of the culture. <<less

The good things:
- Character development
- World development
- Relationship development (not just FL and ML, but also FL to other characters)
- Quick and easy read

The bad things:
- had issues with FL's past relationship with ML. It's a hot bed of issues.
- plot convenience

Overall:
I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's short, their present life relationship is cute and had development. Since it wasn't a long novel and clearly targeted for easy reading (they have such a genre on the chinese novel websites), I decided to save myself the annoyance and mostly ignored the past life issues.

I love this novel.

At first, I was a bit sceptical about Luo Hansheng (ML) since in Su Mian's (FL) perspective he's really just straight up worst of the worse, but finishing this novel made me realize a few things. First of all, in my opinion, ML simply just didn't know how to show his feelings for her in their previous life. At the end of the day, what he did was horrible, but, after getting to know him in the present timeline, he started to seem like an ignorant big... more>> child that's extremely powerful yet also doesn't know anything. How I see it, is that back in their past life, ML probably only saw how weak FL is, so him being the powerful man he is, felt the need to protect the weak FL, and since he's so convinced that she can't do anything to protect herself, he did all of those things like locking her up, cutting her off from the rest of the world, etc, because to him that's what protecting her means. Still, I know that's wrong, FL knows that's wrong, and even ML now knows that's wrong. Personality wise, nothing much changed from the ML, he's still arrogant, powerful, overbearing, and possessive. What changed the most is that in the present time, FL isn't as weak as before. People noticed and even ML noticed. So, even if there's constant thoughts of wanting to lock her up, he didn't do so because in this timeline, he's aware that she's capable enough to protect her own. Other than that, I also pity him a bit since he grew up not loving and not being loved which is probably why when he felt love at first sight, he didn't know what was the right thing to do and simply acted based on his instincts, again, like a wild predator 'protecting' his weak prey.

Story wise, I think it's pretty good. Not the best plot but the setting made the story more interesting so I don't have anything against it. I also didn't understand everything in full 100%, maybe understood to 80% at best. I don't think there's anything wrong with the translation, it's just that there's a lot of things or small details that are obviously from the chinese culture and stuff, kinda feels like jargon for someone foreigner like me. But, it's also not that big of a deal since most chinese novels do this so I'm used to it by now.

Overall, I love this novel. It did felt like a bit rushed ending since they got married then all of a sudden they already have a son and a daughter and the apocalypse was already over and their powers were also gone...? I'm not entirely sure if I understood that right but yeah felt a bit rushed at the end. But, I still love this nonetheless.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. At first, FL is extremely scared of the ML and rightfully so, but after some time she'd slowly warm up to him and I tell you, they're the sweetest ever omg. <<less

Firstly I'll just expand on the summary, but obviously not everyone is going to want that so I'll put it as a spoiler:

Spoiler

The protagonist is a girl who lived through roughly 2/3's of the apocalypse, as an ordinary person, and the girlfriend (read: pet) of the ML. He protects her and keeps her safe and fed, but not happy, she wants her freedom. He is very sick mentally and physically from years of practicing his ability (which he and a group of other 'cultivators' have inherited for generations, and which damages his body.), so he is unable to be his best self but is genuine in his emotions for the FL, it just comes out in a so extreme way that the FL lead feels that he is insincere. After being kept by him for 2 years, she stabs him with a fruit knife and escapes but dies outside within days because she was unprepared for the 3 part of the apocalypse and is an ordinary person. She freezes to death.

Then she wakes up again. And this time she is preparing for the apocalypse, she announces she is going back home for a vacation but really she is shopping for supplies and building a base for her grandmother and their fellow villagers. Mostly old people, women and children.

SHE HAS A CHEAT:

In her previous life the ML gave her a necklace (later revealed to be an old family heirloom), which she presumably died wearing, because she doesn't mention taken it off before fleeing (and dying) and when she is reincarnated she is still wearing it.
The necklace is broken but inside the necklace is a 'gourd', which is really an magical space, in which she has a magical spring and which she can grow plants in (but not rear animals). Inside she finds several ginseng, among which is one several hundred years old, which she uses to fund her purchases.
She can only stay in there for 2 hours at the time and usually spends that time tending to plants and once or twice to hide in.

And lastly she pulls herself and a classmate/friend of hers out into an 'golden rain' the first day which awakens an ability for both of them so in this life they both have abilities.

also this friend is one of the few people she actively tries to help other than her grandmother and their village.
She mentions several times that she selfishly only cares about their fate (which is in my opinion all right, since as she says pretty much everyone in the apocalypse thinks like that).

That's it for my maybe not so spoiler-free summary

[collapse]

As for my review:

I read the whole thing in a few days, so it's still very clear to me.

First off this is a perfectly alright novel, it starts with the classic reincarnation before the apocalypse. But the protagonist is someone who spent very little of the apocalypse herself in freedom, so most of her information comes from things the ML told her in her last life.

Her relationship with the ML really starts off on the wrong foot, in her last life they weren't equals he was super powerful, and she was just a pretty, but overall pretty ordinary college student. No powers. In their first life he shows his affection in the very extreme manner of locking her up, feeding her, and only keeping her for himself and with the exception of his very close subordinates she doesn't come into contact with anyone else. Obviously she doesn't want to get to know him again, but she has little choice, something about her just calls to him and he would give up anything to be with her. So he follows her to her village and they work together on tasks and saves each other on multiple occasions. It's a very slow and paced romance. Since their romance is the main plot of the entire novel, that makes sense.

In the end it's a pretty good story for some lazy reading. I'll recommend to to people who are in between books and needs a cool down. The story wraps itself up and it's a HE ending.

Almost 4 ⭐️'s. <<less
