- Not OP: everything she currently has because she is very smart and hardworking. Her smartness leans more on the streetsmart since she survived showbiz and is in the very top
- Mature: she takes her job seriously and diligently
- Knows what she wants and actually goes for it: she knows she needs ML to teach her so she slyly went for it (and succeeded!) and actually made the first move in confessing her feelings (TWICE!)
- No angstly oh I like u but cant tell u cuz im shy boohoo: as I said, this girl takes the first move. And I find her feelings actually more pure than the other MC out there since she actually takes the time to learn about what the person she likes to better understand them. Its a bit pitiful tbh but also wholesome in the same time
And the lovely ML. This ML is... more>>It was so so good, the most realistic love story in any novel I ever read
I can't wait for the adaption to drama to come out!! I feel like the main character in this novel is Yu Tu, the story are more to Yu Tu problems and how he struggle, with Jing Jing as his savior.
With Jing Jing too, he came to know what is love. There's a character development, both couple change for better than their teenager self. When their first kiss happen, it really came out of nowhere, like, boom! It happen, made me squeal so much and run laps around my house to calm down myself, haha I'm the kind of person who hate angst, the angst really minimal and not too long, they were sweet and fluffy before the angst happen, after the angst happen, they become fluffier and sweeter, almost made me choke on dog food. The fluffy part are not cringy, it's very mature, slice of life kinda fluffy. But if it's me, between dreams and money, I will choose money, maybe I just don't have any dream like Yu Tu, he's so passionate about his dream, when his dream come true, he look so dazzling, makes me feel kinda jealous of him at the same time, I'm truly happy for him, hehe I really truly love this novel
Thank you translator for introducing this novel to me
Long live the author to make more novel like this!
It’s beautifully written tale and well translated. A must read.
FL is not s*upid nor dumb in fact she is clever (not as much as ML in terms of studies), more down to earth and she knows her values and mischievous and quick witted, she is probably my favourite female character. ML is smart and intellectual but not rude (maybe little when he was young), he has his own principles and values, very hardworking towards his goal, not rich, he has his up and downs, he is not perfect guy but a mature guy, he has some flaws but he reacts more like human and quick witted.
He may have rejected FL in his school days because he didn't even know her (I mean he knows that she is his classmate but I'm talking about her as a person), just think if someone who you don't know suddenly confessed what you will do? He didn't rejected her ruthlessly but he respectfully declined her.
The ML initially looked down on MC when she had less prospects than him, and then proceeded to look down on himself when their roles were reversed.
It was an understandable mistake from his youth, because he didn't feel love, thus didn't care about it. But the second time, it seems that even after falling in love, he didn't learn his lesson. Love has nothing to do with status and money. Moreover, as MC said, when you love you're impulsive and don't think much about it. But to be fair, he was probably impacted by seeing what his colleagues and their family members and his own family had to go through and he didn't want MC to suffer through the same by being with him. He still gave up without even trying though.
I do appreciate tho that he was initially a very logical and rational person, but he later changed and went with his heart in both his work and love choices. Lastly, to be honest, between my dream plus hard work VS easy money, I would choose easy money. ML enjoys the work he does, but he's both very busy because of it, very tired and gets little money and no time to spend with his loved ones. While his second option is also something he's still very good at, much easier for him and would earn a lot of money. I would go for the second option if I were him, he's sacrificing too much time, effort and money for his dream. Maybe I can't understand what it's like to have a dream you're so passionate about, but to work that hard for it, and be so underpaid, it's not worth it, and spending more time with my close ones is more important for me. It's his choice tho, just saying what I'd do in his shoes.
Sad there's no little bun tho
