Xia Yao’s self-awareness awakened and she found out she was only a vicious female character with reduced wisdom created by an author.

The heroine of the novel was the gentle, kind, and considerate fake daughter who had been adopted after Xia Yao’s disappearance. After being lost for a decade, the true daughter returned to her biological family but unlike what she had dreamed of, the parents weren’t home and the brother favored the fake daughter, ignoring Xia Yao.

In the novel, everybody liked the fake daughter and three young men fell in love with her, while the true daughter was eaten by jealousy and driven to insanity. And in order to harm the fake daughter, she had stumbled and fallen to her death.

But now~

Xia Yao: IQ is finally online, goodbye dog protagonists, I just want to learn!

One day, she took her sister to viciously surround the heroine in the restrooms. After leaking the news, the three men of the fake daughter rushed to the scene. They kicked the door open and…

“Everything is wrong! Are you worthy of your parents or the teacher’s careful lectures?”

They saw the girl sitting on the sink, her palm smashing on the mirror and a severe expression on her face. Around her, mathematical formulas were written all over the glass.

The fake daughter’s eyes were full of tears: “Woooo~ I’m sorry, I am not worthy….”

Male Lead 1: “Xia Yao, it’s so late, let’s go home.

Male Lead 2: “Xia Yao, you didn’t even call me for the private tutoring session!”

TLDR: It's pretty good so far. I wish I could delay rating but going on what's out it's well worth a look

Update: have to drop 2 stars off my original rating. It's now a 3. The ending was very meh and left virtually everything unresolved. The parents literally appear for 1 phone call, the family interaction with the brother and sister is not at all well developed. It should have been much better

Details: Real Daughter vs Fake Daughter (adopted replacement) *, transmigrated into a novel with a system. There's some... more>> meta as she has to keep the plot going so she doesn't lose her awareness. (Something like Fritz Lieber's the sinful ones were most of the world is trapped in the plot).

Bottom line: It's a great setup and the writing is above average but it's just not properly finished. The ending feels like an air pocket. There's better out there <<less

Many of us have read our fair share of Chinese in-a-novel transmigration series, but they rarely show how to use mathematics productively in a kidnapping scenario that is reminiscent of an exorcism. You have never lived until you have experienced the pure, unadulterated terror of a study enthusiast having their study time interfered with by a system threatening to destroy their soul unless they agree to mess with a white lotus. Our MC's reaction to the situation is freaking perfection!

This series very much shows how a simple change to a... more>> scene can have a HUGE impact on a story. The characterization is awesome as well, with the cast having many meaningful moments in this short-run series. The use of comedy is used effectively, showing the absurdity of the situation that our MC is stuck in. This is shown via her mindset to do the bare minimum whilst also holding to her own code of ethics. Of course, this sometimes involves the use of mathematics, which makes for some really hilarious moments.

I highly recommend this series (great translation by the folks at QNtl, BTW) to anyone looking for a light-hearted take on the Chinese in-a-novel dog blood transmigration genre. The ending is open-ended but we get the sense that the male lead is trying to be a good partner to our study-centric MC. However, there was some closure for her family situation and in her 'family' having ramifications for treating her poorly. My only complete is that the climax could have been less rushed by extending it by a few more chapters. <<less

A fairly easy read. Fake as sh*t O!FL, a 'woke' MC who has suddenly turned into this OP intelligent student, illogical side-characters. As such, a cliche novel in the genre but this one is short and sweet. Everything's done in 44 chaps or so. I would have given it a 5-star rating but took off 1 star coz the ending is so damn abrupt like u r left wondering whether or not it's actually an on-going novel. Plus MC didn't end up with the guy I was rooting for and... more>> that made me pissed. But she gets together with ML only at the LAST chap so enjoy the ride

Plus this MC is OP in terms of physical strength and fighting. <<less

I LOVE THIS STORY!!! I RECOMMEND IT!!! this is a short cute story

though the ending is quite rushed... but overall I love it!!!

Xiao Ya is more focused on her studies than on romance...

and I still haven’t decided who to ship her with but the ship already sailed... and then it ended lol...

Although the writing seems like it will be interesting, it's really not a good sign when the premise of the story is written out with a logic failure. See...

  1. The protagonist has regained control because the author stopped updating.
  2. Deviating too far from the plot results in Termination.
  3. The protagonist presumably retains control while the conditions of 1 and 2 remain unchanged.
Sweet, so what happens when she runs out of plot to follow? The author stopped updating, so the system will abruptly run out of plot to feed her, at which point one... more>> of the conditions for her survival would supposedly fail automatically.

I expect the author has a plan for how flimsy the system is, but to tell the protagonist such an obviously dead end premise and her not call out the system on "well, what happens at the end of the plot?" doesn't bode well. <<less

This story is a bit... odd. It's really short and super fast-paced (we have time jumps of months repeatedly) and the characters don't really have much time to grow. There are also some bits that are repeated so as to really drive home the opinions/thoughts of certain characters. There is some face slapping but there isn't much fluff.

A system binds the MC to the original plot of the novel but it's kind of derailed as she isn't actually malicious. However, the system keeps warning her that she needs to finish... more>> certain plot points or it will return her to the story-mandated version of herself (malicious and s*upid). There is an ML and a 2nd ML but they pursue her while she's more interested in learning. It's only a throwaway moment at the end of the story when she chooses one (or is forced into having a boyfriend).

It's an alright read if you're into something quick that you can read in half an evening. <<less

Rather silly story really because the ending just leaves the reader nonplussed - rushed with no rhyme or reason. Villainous 2FL who has become ‘self aware’ in the course of the author being on hiatus, seek to improve herself by ‘studying’. In the course of changing her life the 2 MLS are drawn to her. Start out as a seemingly strong lead character but it all went no where. Good thing it was short or else I would have felt like I wasted my time.

Given the colorful characters and interesting plot, it would have been a good story. I also like that the MC ended up with the original second male lead instead of the original male lead. It's just that it was really rushed and plenty of conflicts were unresolved. I guess the author gave up. Lol

The ending is rushed, otherwise would have rated it 4.

Spoiler

Thankfully, did not conclude who ML is as I don't know who to side HAJSDNSM.

[collapse]

It was a great read, MC didn't become studious just because she wanted to, her original character setting is studious just that she processed information very slow and this block was only remove when she gain self-awareness.

I also love the occasional meta of author and the little theater showing how some characters are still heavily influence by plot.

It was alright, rather straightforward but as many users have said, ended very abruptly. It's a very mary-sue, leave your brain at the door kind of read (which is not bad, sometimes you just want to read something like it). I wish the author had given us some closure.. Let's not even start with how the brother and heroine were let off so easy. Anyway it felt like the author just threw a bunch of ideas together and called it a day.

I liked the end CP. The other guy was so terribly boring, you need an imagination to find any sort of personality. He's just.. There. That's all. And while XSZ is a bit rough, at least he made an impression. Re. The clothes stomping incident.. It felt so contrived and you could tell the author was deliberately trying to spark a misunderstanding.

[collapse]

The translation was good, no complaints there. 3.5. <<less

Over all it was fine, end was rushed and so we're MCs feelings. Start was good and it's good it's short cuz I was starting to get bored by the end but its also sad by how fast the end was as it should have spend more time and explaining certain parts, mostly family stuff.

This novel follows your typical Mary Sue high school drama plot with all sorts of clichées, be it the fake (adoptive) daughter vs. Real daughter or the delinquent falls for the straight A student. There is even the gentle and secretly helping second male lead (I smelled the second male lead syndrome upon his first appearance).

What makes the story stand out is how the FL handles the system tasks, following them but not really which messes up the plot line. I liked how she is the no bullsh*t type of... more>> girl and strong enough to beat up anyone who deserves it. Her one-track-mind is mainly focused on studying which lowers her EQ, but not devastatingly so. At least she eventually noticed that she got two dudes in love with her.

What is unfortunate, though, is how rushed the ending is. Even the translator left a comment about the unsatisfying ending at the bottom of the last chapter.

But overall, the story was not too bad. Entertaining enough even if it leaves you with the feeling of having just eaten but still hungry. <<less

bruh I meant to put 5 star how to change? Pls help

i liked how simple it is. In reincarnation/transmigration novels, normally the face slapping only makes sense cus of the long aas explanation the author puts after the dialogue. Not everyone is that smart in reality. I also really like the ending, even though its rushed. I was rooting for them

The story line is simple and the logic in the book is simple too. Complete the story that the author wrote for your part. The strangest part was that the female lead was supposed to move as per the plot but other characters decisions did not seem to affect the story which doesn't make sense. The points that I did not like - The end was abrupt and the female lead fell in love with the male lead that pushed her into being in a relationship with him. I would... more>> have preferred if she would have stayed single since that was more in line with her charater. <<less

General: 7/10

A short, simple novel without dog-blood drama. A decent read.

Translation: 9/10

... more>> Very good job on translator's side.

Plot: 7/10

+ transmigration into novel with a system issuing tasks

+ fake sister is spoiled (white lotus flag is on)

+ family is biased flag is on as well

+ the FL is a reasonable, honest girl without superpowers (well, except for her learning ability propped by a lot of effort and strength)

+ the dog MLs are typical, yet nicely written

+/- there is not much action/drama

- the ending is really rushed and not conclusive. The story could use additional 10+ chapters to wrap up. The fate of FL's family is mentioned in passing while the guy I thought might be the ML has no mention at all (and he was one of the essential characters)

- some plot parts were left unused (like background of one of the dog MLs)

I think the novel could easily be more developed into about 150 chapters and would still gain a lot. Nevertheless, it is a quick and decent read with a good translation, so I recommend it. <<less

The story was pretty good at the beginning unfortunately the other at to rush the end because she didn’t know how to end a story or got discouraged which is a shame. But the main character is pretty great and I love her antics

The "ending" is too abrupt and that alone made me drop 2 stars.

The writing is good, not spectacular but above grade, the plot is minimal but fine, and the characters... well Xu Shizhou is just my favorite brand of bad boy ML so it's fine. Plus the characterization of Xia Yao is quite good, strong farm girl who wants to study and just perfunctorily goes with the system tasks...

But as I say the story ends in the middle of an arc and there could have been at least like, 5... more>> chapters more just to finish with an open ending and give an epilogue, and I'm very frustrated at this because Xu Shizhou was so close!

Anyways, don't expect much and be ready to be angry at the ending (because it simply isn't one) <<less
