Chaos spread once those words of God were displayed to the whole world.

Kurose Hikaru, whose childhood friend had been chosen, was killed together with her on the same day she was supposed to be transferred. However, for some reason, Hikaru didn’t die and, even though he wasn’t chosen at first, he ended up as one of the [Otherworlders that will have all their actions live broadcasted to Earth].

Transferred without any preparations at all to that accursed land, he faced threats innumerable times and somehow managed to survive with his Gift, the Dark Spirit Abilities.

“I must not die. I am sure the people on Earth are all rooting for me after all…”

This is the story of a young boy who is tossed about by the gazes of the viewers, yet eventually manages to raise his head and walk forward.

Whoever rated this with low stars saying that the MC is a wimp, yeah. No. This is a rather slow burn series that is very SATISFYING when you start seeing the payoff and see the tension build up and dynamics and relationships be formed. If for the sole reason you dropped this because of how MC was acting in early chapters, especially if you dropped it off at the time when MC was still in the forest, then you're really missing out.

The MC has one of the best writings I've... more>> ever seen. He's dense, but not frustratingly so. When the Heroine confessed to him, he acknowledged it and knew what was happening, not like typical dense protagonists and keeps it in mind and actually does something with that knowledge later down the line. If he is dense at first, it's because he has valid reasons to be (unhealthy mental health, trauma, paranoia, etc.) The worldbuilding is really good too, it focuses more on building few strong characters (Rifreya, Grapeful, Alex, and Jeane (even though she has only been appearing in the bb, we already know a lot about her)) rather than a plethora of mob characters simply there to be cannon fodder.

All in all, great story. Please don't be discouraged with the first arc of MC being in the forest, it will pay off really well in the end! <<less

Very good, you can relate to the MC, he is "human", he is afraid of some things and acts bravely in others he is not an "alpha" MC but he is not a "beta" either and that pleased me after all I'm tired of "alpha" MC's (they're repetitive) and I hate beta MC's, about the story: it's cool, love the earth people chat part because I feel like I was there commenting too, so what can I say in this novel that I recommend

Its my first time creating a review so I'll keep it brief.

As someone who read it to the latest chapter in raws at the current date.

The novel is well written, the plot and character building is very good along with its unique elements.

It may be a little cliche but has its good side that seperate it from generic isekai's due to it's realistic story and relatable MC.

overall the novel is excellent

    • This novel has a unique premise for the an isekai and a well written albeit generic/generally predictable story.
    • The author makes the character easy to understand and have believable actions and motivations. Though one character introduced in the later untranslated chapters feels rather bland compared to the main duo.
    • The meta bulletin board interludes can be hit or miss for some people but they were a resounding success for me since I found them both comedic and a needed breather checkpoint after each dramatic event in the story.
  • I think what will make or break this novel for most people would be how much they care and sympathize for the MC and his situation. I can already imagine some people finding him to be too beta for their taste but I think that the events that led to his current predicament were well executed and made it realistic. I honestly felt real emotion and heartache when the first big plot twist was revealed which changed the MC's outlook significantly.
  • All in all, nothing ground breaking but a novel that's elevated by great writing.

Nice! Great that this has been picked up.

I highly recommend this. I found the 'live broadcast' twist on the formula very refreshing. Reading the responses to the MC's experiences in the other world makes it feel like you're experiencing the story with other people as well.

Other than that, the characters and world is very well fleshed out too.

Though it has the gritty feel and seriousness of those "stuck in crazy mastermind death game" stories, it's fun and interesting and never boring.

What an upgrade from this author's previous work.

I am livid after getting severely blue-balled by the author.
I started reading this novel with the expectation that it deserves it's rating of 3.9 (I'd give it 3.3), and whilst I can agree that the beginning of the novel deserves the rating, the author's shortcomings can clearly be seen past ~ 80 chapters. I will not include spoilers in this review.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the character is edgy which is acceptable because character development exists. I don't understand the purpose of this but about 60-70% of the story... more>> is MC dribble about how he hates himself and there's no development.

Secondly, the author utilizes plot hooks without providing any resolution to them. There is a bare minimum of conflict resolution within the novel and readers are edged to the point of being blue-balled every chapter.

The last issue I have is the novel comment board feature which is horribly implemented, as the author attempts to predict our opinions on the development and always attempts to "outdo" the examples. A predictable outcome is not always an unsatisfying outcome, the author will always develop some contrived sequence of events to prevent predictable outcomes from happening then you're given some lousy excuse by the author. It's subpar writing at best, you can find significantly better reads elsewhere. <<less

This story frustrates the hell out of me its just so badly written the misunderstandings never gets cleared up, the MC is a downright depressed dumbass. I recommend never reading this novel and stay away from any other novels this author has written as it is downright a waste of time. Please go read better novels and avoid this one.

This novel is exceedingly average. For everything that I really like, like the concept, and some of the main characters (Hikaru, Rifreya, and Jeanne), there are equal amount things I don’t hate, like pretty much anything pertaining to his sisters as well as Nanami, and the usage of guns.

Spoilers:

Spoiler

in the most recent arc Nanami begins to play a bigger role. For absolutely no reason she picks some s*upid communication and practically nothing else. It’s clear that the author just wanted her to be over powered. To start with her character is very annoying and they dedicate about 10 chapters just to her being overpowered

one big positive is the translation. If you’ve read anything translated by Reigokai you already know this, but he’s really talented. However, all three of the major stories he translates, this one, tsukimichi, and weakest mage all share the same issues. So if you like those I think you’ll still wind up liking this. <<less

Read this and don't be fooled by the reviews above!

I know it sounds like an ad on some p*rn site, but there are some extremely negative reviews that are not justified and are based on arbitrary judgments. Anyway, the review begins

"The darkness was comfortable for me" It is a novel that although it is not the best, it is slightly better than the rest of mediocrities in the isekai sea.

With an interesting beginning, and a justifiable misunderstanding at the beginning, it had the potential for a dark and sad story.... more>> Unfortunately it quickly becomes a one-trick knight when it becomes repetitive and sometimes pointless. However, as I said before, it is above average since the beginning is very interesting and the isekai transmission theme is slightly innovative. <<less

I have read the novel till chapter 207. And I can say with 100% confidence that its a great read.

The mysteries and plot just keep on thickening as the story progresses. There are some huge plot twists around 110-120 chaps. What happened in those chapters turned away a lot of people. But what happened there had to happen and it was a great plot twist as well which added new dynamic to many new characters. That was an absolutely great arc. Only those who do not have the brainpower... more>> to understand it are crying and rating it 1 (Idiots). Its a great read you wont regret.

The build-up is great. The MC is great as well. The people who dont like the MC dont know what trauma is. They only want an MC who will just f*ck everything that comes to him. This MC feels real, his fears, mentality etc feels like that of a traumatized person. Its a very good read, highly recommended.

And, the comments chapters are a really great addition. <<less

I think the novel takes a fun premise and handles it well. Live streaming 1000 concurrent isekai shows is bound to be chaotic and entertaining. However we rarely get to see this concept in action.

This is mostly due to the author introducing elements that solve or deescalate conflicts before they even happen!

I will sum it up in the spoiler:

"I isekai'd instead of my gf, people think I killed her and I'm struggling in this isekai"

A unique premise in a time tested trope, nice work Mr. Author. Our MC must deal with societal pressure and accusations while trying to survive. However such trails are neutered by his sisters/forum posts.

Man vs Society: His twin sisters have manipulated public opinion so any social worries are in his head. Most people believe he was innocent. There is no 'practical' way for the audience to negatively influence the MC, hence, no stakes.
Man vs World: Forums typically contain huge information dumps. Making forum chapters longer reads, breaking pacing. It also doesn't help immersion in our MC since I'm getting info he can't use.
The sisters in general are a net-negative on the series. They solve too many problems and take up too much word-count. Had they been removed or just regular bro-cons I think the pacing and conflicts would be better.

So... when I first started this novel, I was quite interested in it. I thought this novel's gonna be a grim-dark kind of fantasy, but I'm wrong. This novel is actually quite sweet and - for the lack of a better word - slightly wholesome.

Don't get me wrong, I actually think those changes are pretty great, but it starts to feel a little like generic isekai novels after a while, which made it slightly boring. The thing is, I'm also fine with that. Generic isekai? It's still good if the... more>> author wrote it very well.

But I got betrayed.

The novel starts to stray to an uncertain point after the protagonist got together with his teammates. His goals started to become shaky and it seems as if the author is struggling to find what he should write.

And there's also the comments stuff.

Like bruh, we don't need a fricking viewer reflection after every single god*amn chapters. It honestly feel like the author's just trying to fill out the word counts or whatever. So since that happened, half of the current existing chapters are all useless viewer comments. Tbh, the author should only write viewer comments after something important happened, not after every fricking chapter.

So yeah, interesting read at first, but gets dull later. And also since the author updates so slow, the plot only moves forward after like every 2 weeks or so. <<less

My expectations was low but I get hyped up at the beginning of the story, the misunderstanding, trauma, and all the action in one series

But my expectations was crushed at this chapter, the only thing I experience is nothing but ANGER, yes anger, I can somehow accept the misunderstanding at the beginning, because the story is just starting and anything is possible, and then misunderstanding keep getting worse and worse to the point of nonsense beyond help

I know he is traumatized, but hey, at least, don't f*ck around so much... more>> this novel actually making me mad, a simple swearing isn't enough to insult the author, this could be a good series but the author just too obsess with torturing MC

if you haven't read the novel and want try to read this series I say don't read this tr*sh, just find other novel don't torture yourself reading this tr*sh

Can't believe I would be this annoyed to a novel, to the point I would be making account just to review, even tho I have been in this site for 7+ years.

The novel start out great, as tragedy happen to him, the MC became traumatized and depressed, as I expect from 15 years old. But as I progress to the chapter, there is no character development at all, even tho he got support from his surrounding. At times, he get out from his darkness, but later he get in again,... more>> yep just like turtle. Well, what I do expect from japanese MC.

And Harem! If I realized that there is harem tag in this novel before I start reading, I would not read this novel, so that mistake on my part. Well that besides the point, the point is I don't even know if this could be called harem anymore. There is no progress even with the first female lead, yep he became turtle again. Again, what do I expect from japanese MC. The MC thought that by avoiding the female lead, everything would be fine, but in fact it just torturing both of them. Yeah, you can defend him by saying, "He is traumatized, depressed, yada yada", but for how long he gonna keep being traumatized? Actually there is a lot of moment where the author can make the MC free from them all and keep the novel still being good. But no, the Authour choose to stick close with the Title.

Also, I want to talk about 'Spice'. Spice is important in novel as it is in food. Spice is what makes us addicted to it. But, too much Spice is not good either, especially on slow-paced novel like this. Yeah as I progress, the Author keep throwing spice in, even tho it's progress slowly and its the same kind of spice that he keep throwing. It's make me had enough even tho I not on the last translated chapter yet. And those POV just keep getting longer and longer that it's slow down the story even further.

It's not like I hate japanese novel. Actually the idea is great, but the execution is bad, so so badd. <<less

Relatively decent compared to the usual tr*sh ranked on the site.

One of the very few isekais that manages a sense of danger in the world.

Characters that actually have some semblance of personality, cool.

Good enough writing in general.

The bad is that, the protagonist Hikaru is not everyone's cup of tea in the beginning. He is very much traumatized, scared and such. He does a lot of s*upid sh*t that you might be frustrated to read, justified by his s*upidity.

But

Spoiler

It just doesn't end. He never gets better. His fear of people comes from his misguided idea that he is hated, but even after getting friends and being told of the truth, he still acts like he has turbo-autism for no reason.

The author simply doesn't let the character evolve or develop. He is still the exact same moron he was at chapter 1, which is s*upid considering how much the plot has progressed.

At this point, it has gotten very, very frustrating. He literally cannot talk to strangers because he almost gets a heart attack... from talking to people.

Before anyone even tries to defend this, the kid did learn how to not be scared of monsters, but somehow he is still incapable of learning human speech after 190 chapters of flirting with women like a generic isekai protagonist left and right?

At chapter 1, it was justifiable. It's just gotten frustrating at this point. The author uses this to turn the story into an idiot plot, where the plot can only move forward and there can only be tension because everyone involved in the story is a complete and utter moron. The Protagonist just met his killer in the new world, and has no idea who he is because he is incapable of basic human speech as the author found it really convenient.

I think the author is running out of ideas, to be honest. So he needs the killer coming back to last for a while. To do that, he is making sure the arc gets milked as long as possible using the MC's idiocy.

[collapse]

There's also too much traumatic stuff for the sake of being traumatic, just shock value.

Spoiler

The MC's parents are hilariously evil for the sake of being evil. They're almost like cartoon villains. Badly written.

[collapse]

Oh and casual racism. Nice going, Japanese writer-kun.

Spoiler

There's chapters of Japanese boards talking about in universe characters. Now I know the boards are supposed to represent the randoms, but frankly, the randoms just represent the author's own thoughts. They represent what the author wants you to think about the in-universe events. There's so much casual racism against outsiders, westerners and religious people in general it's almost funny.

Apparently, all westerners are cucks. Or so the author says. Despite the MC literally trying to get his GF banged by someone else because he thinks she's too good for him. Lmao.

[collapse]

Edit: I take it back. It's quite shit. Chapter 211 and the main character is still an incredibly whiny, insecure and idiotic character. The whole story is a goddamn idiot plot. A plot that can only happen because literally everyone involved in the story is a complete moron. There is 0 progression on the MC's part and he is still the extremely insecure PoS he was in chapter 1. It's extremely frustrating to read. Because all of the bad sh*t that happens to him happens because he is a complete moron. Don't read this. <<less

3 Stars because I appreciate the translation of Reigokai.

Other than that it's a 2 Stars story for me. The author did well in creating a somewhat interesting world setting, a protagonist with a goal, and a love interest initially different from the norm. Good enough that I would have rated this a 5/5 at the beginning.

However, while there is a pretty clear objective of where the story should go from author, they aren't very good at getting the story from one point to another, sometime it get some forceful developments... more>> just to accomplish it. The more I read the more disappointed I get at this 5/5 story shredding itself along the way.

About the bulletin board chapters, it serves the purpose of giving insight to happening outside of MC perspective, a change of pace to the usual "dark" stuff, and basically a reaction chapter about what MC did. If you like the story then you'll find reading Bulletin chapter very satisfying because it supplement your need of people having the same opinion as you. If you start to dislike the story though you'll find it very irritating because you won't find a single thing that agree with you there.

Overall do give it a try, Reigokai translate this very well and honestly story isn't bad at all. I'm only giving it low stars because I don't like the way it is going, but you could like it better than I did. It may even be your new favorite! <<less

5/10. Generic story.

They said you need to give it a chance, read more than the first chapters and you will understand why the MC is like the way he is: NO, this is a cliche chuuni story, the ones that the MC starts with "dark powers" and then the author make fun of chuuni stories to differentiate from them but then he goes full with dark power/hair/eyes/clothes sad and depressed MC with scenarios (cheaply writed) that play exactly the way the author needs to stretch the sh*t out of the... more>> MC depression and trauma. Also a hot FL that he can't accept because he's to chuuni too have a girlfriend.

Spoiler

The story wont have a real progress about MC depression, the author don't want that, even if a scenario calls to a development of MC personality, he will twist it and the MC ends sadder. The author wants a sad MC but for me he fails to write it properly.

TL/DR: Generic but readable. Read if you like chuuni stories without direction. <<less

My main issues with this novel is that the romance feels fairly forced. Especially since the main character is incredibly afraid of interacting with other people, almost incel levels of not liking people. It's just quite strange that he almost immediately just let's it happen to him. Then boom we are in traditional isekai territory, can I have your ticket please. It's actually something I hate about a lot of Japanese writing. They start off with a interesting premise, then, don't stick with it fully. Almost immediately going back to... more>> stereotypes after lightly playing with the actual interesting bits. Frustrates me incredibly, although it's quite strange I see this in Japanese writing more so than others. Maybe it's just because Japanese stereotypes are incredibly overbearing and obvious most of the time so I actually notice it? But I am not sure.

Edit- I came back because I was bored, he sticks with the premise, but wants him to have a harem. So the first waifu is what confused me. It still feels like complete f*cking whiplash, but I guess I was wrong. The only thing is, the context does not really make it better. I mean the dude has s*x with her on the first date shouldn't be compatible with edgy no no I don't like contact with people man. Death Stranding did a better romance in that respect and its "Death Stranding". <<less

Currently one of my favorites.

I think as initially put off due to how another review characterized his sisters, but they’re fine. They’re geniuses, and Celica in particular sometimes has to make some hard choices, but they are also still kids in the end.

Really good novel.
