This is one novel I would happily re-read. Some might think that the MC is so infatuated with the ML that his actions are almost idiotic, but really, he's just simply so devoted to everything he loves that he's quite literally willing to give his all for their sake.

I don't particularly like nor care for the final chapter -- I think the author might've been trying to appease the readers who thought the MC needed some kind of redemption arc and because of this, it took away from the long,... more>> gut-wrenchingly painful (pun intended, maybe?) heartbreaking life lessons we've invested so much of our time on. I would have loved a written out version of those latter years (the ML described them in like 3 sentences) for a sense of closure (for both the MC and myself :P).

The MTL is not the best, but also not the worst. But it sure darn was worth frying my brain for.

All in all, one of my all time favorites that I will be keeping in my back pocket for those days where I want to remember to never take things for granted. <<less

Worth my tears even when read the second time. MC is too pitiful... He believe that he doesn't deserve any form of love (〒﹏〒). Mostly the plot is common angst story but with MC being trrated in this novel make more crying (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)

I am crying so bad... the ending was not bad but my heart is still very broken for xiao Yu.

Anything that isnt MC dying and never meeting his parents and ML in a next life is a BE. The only HE for MC is being freed from the twisted personality he developed from everything that ever happened and hopefully never ever crossing paths with them again.

Normies cry with titanic

Legends cry with this. I went and read it again cause I thought I'll be more resistant but still cried damn it but even though sometimes there is no logic behind MC act it is good read to just cry and empty your heart out I love this genre alot (I'm not romanticize it though) it's just I have problems with feeling sympathy or sadness so these kind of books helps me to balance

Ever wonder, 'I'm to tired reading these fluffy and cheesy novels, to tired with these same-plot face slapping drama. I wanna cry real hard that my eyes are puffy and nose is runny. I want a novel that will make me not breathe!' Well I just had a recommendation for you my friend!

This novel made me cry three days straight, thinking about this story makes me want to erase memories how to cry. It's heart-wrenching, it will make you complain about the misunderstandings, it will make you cry about... more>> the MC, who the author tortured very much, not only having a bad childhood but also a bad husband.... *sigh, Shen Kanyu..

It will make you mad to the ML very much, you just wanna jump in the story to strangle him.

Overall, in its entirety it's a masterpiece, great story telling I could easily understand it even using mtl. Only few things about it makes me feel icky....

First of all, the ML. Why? It's because he is abusive and it feels like he just pity the MC and not actually love him.

The Guilt and Pity turned to Love. Like how?, how? Just tell them you just pity them, not tell them you love them when you clearly don't!!.

Now I would like to talk about the endings!

well it's like this there are 3 endings in overall.

The first ending is when Shen Kanyu woke up from his coma and then Xiao hulu, Gu Yansheng is with him. And that's it.

The second is when Gu Yansheng commited suIcId3 in front of Kanyu's clothes cause apparently he dissappeared. That's what I read. Then there was rebirth, where he (ml) is a successful business man at the age of 20, with dead parents. ML met 10 yr old MC and decided to raise and marry him.

The third is the Mid-autumn festival ending, it's fluffy and surprisingly no dog blood!!

Oh sh-- I wanted to scroll down but accidentally changed the rating to 5. I meant 4.

Anywayy, if you're reading this for plot, don't. This story is pure dogblood, pain on top of pain on top of pain. I honestly MTL read it (very readable using google translate btw) and can safely say that this is a story you read if you just want to cry and be sad for cathartic purposes. Like AIMING to be sad.

Nothing but abuse given to MC from nearly everyone up until near the end... more>> and even then, you won't even be happy for him. It's ridiculous and abusing to the readers to have to read it but like I said, read it to cry and it shall serve.

Overall though, I would say the story is fine. Not the best opinion from me though since I literally used this story as a method of emotional release but I find MC to be like a ridiculously lovable NPC. Like the mob assist character in games. I want to adopt him, and raise him to be more 3D, kinda way. He deserves it so much, and that's why I preservered in reading this whole Yama needle hellscape of a story. I finished reading and always imagined a world where I could take him away. Not like how in one of the story extras did it though. <<less

So I'mma be honest the angst was ok, the pain was delivered however as you go on reading and especially the parts after he went away from home, you could swap out his character with a girl and the plot would still remain the same. The MC is the only guy that we see get pregnant with no explanation whatsoever of why and how which I can look over but the delivery his thought process and everything else is meh. The reason I started this was because I wanted bl... more>> with an male MC and ml, but when his character is not like a guy and where if we replaced all the pronouns of the MC in the book we'd still have the same story, it won't be any different. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not against the story, I'm just unsatisfied that he's just like any girl but uses the pronouns he (which I would have been ok with if he was mentioned to be trans, but there was nothing of the sort). <<less

I dont want to write again my review im just going to say, the author does not want to help MC. Since they should meet therapist and psychologist to treat MC. ML need to help MC but they need guidance and it should be from expertise in that not Tang xiu just consult with from that department. THEY SHOULD HAVE SESSION.

Heart wrenching. I think this word is good enough to explain the story.

Most of the time when reading this type of regret story I would very much prefer it if the uke would just die. I feel like that way the seme would realize that it's too late for his regrets or something. But preferring it and having been given such story would actually make me wish that the ending could change.

For some reason, I am unsettled by the ending. Even though seme might have ended another "life" with uke... more>> happily it doesn't actually erased the fact that uke in another life have gone through so much that he lost the ability to actually take care of himself.

Though I might as well say that it's quite satisfying seeing them face the consequences of their own actions in the past but it's also sad at the same time cause it shows how he doesn't even believe anymore that someone can accept and love him. I wish he would just live and left rather than dead. Atleast that way I know he can still spend his life happily. <<less

I saw this novel from my friend's files list and thought it would be a good fluffy story. I never thought this would be angst..... And now I just finished reading this story and I don't know how I managed to do that when I don't even like angsty stories that much.... I continued reading chapter after chapter hoping that it'll get better and end on a good note but no.... Now my eyes are all swollen from crying. I feel so sad and sorry for Kanyu, like, why does... more>> he have to suffer like that... Dropped. I like tragedies, it did almost make me weep within chapter 15. After that, I feel as if it got more unreasonable. I persisted until chapter 22 to see if there was a change. Non. I was dragged into this after reading another regretful tragedy BL. That one was reasonable, somewhat. Decent plot and something that seemed feasible. This one? Just no. If you just want to see a miserable MC and are an easy Cryer looking for a good bucketful of tears, this is for you. I won't... more>> give any more spoilers. But here's a rant.

It felt unreasonable. Like the author had no idea how to truly make the character miserable, so just gave him this neurotic, kind, and misunderstood personality and a world that just makes him so unfortunate. A simple word of 'Like' or a little attention is enough for him to forget and forgive anything at all! His personality deviates and even makes his own daughter hate him. Alright, I can ignore that but everyone being ignorant of his care and love?? No. That made me completely lose interest. At least make it reasonable, feasible, whatever y'know?? I just find the whole situation the MC is in ridiculous. How does the ML never notice the hospital reports or his strange behavior?? Why the hell is his daughter so hateful and selfish??

I hate getting indulged! But I love him ! It broke my heart and my soul took a hit. It's been quite a while since I finished this book but I'm only writing my review now because I was too sad to do so before. I recommend but for people who have a sensitive heart I do not recommend

It doesn't deserve 5 stars tbh. I love reading painful stories but this one- meh. The first half was okey to read, wasn't bad. But I think the biggest problem in this story was the ml. Because of him other half was just... annoying and boring. I still don't understand how he fall in love with the MC after all happened. And mc? He was like the Mary Sue pain edition.
