Short and sweet. As the other reviewer said one of the lead's backstory is horribly tragic but this story doesn't focus on that as much as the healing process he goes through after meeting the other ML. The couple is very sweet together and as you read you'll just want them to be happy together forever and ever. Omegaverse stories are usually kind of bleh to me because there's an inherent power imbalance in the setting that makes it hard to root for the development of romance but I honestly... more>> really liked this. After reading this I think I could get into omegaverse stories if there were more sweet omega x omega stories like this. <<less

I never usually do reviews but as one of the OO pair danmei novels that I had encountered, I really loved this novel.

It's short, fluffy, a bit angsty, has great smut, and most of all, it's omegaverse. Fair warning though... more>>
Spoiler

the young MC was subjected to prostitution by his mother and was r*ped multiple times by different alphas, but it wasn't properly given justice. But I respect the young mc's decision as well. He doesn't want anyone to know what happened to him and just wants to escape from his mother's grasp (which he achieved thanks to the older mc)

But yeah, other than that, I'm giving it 5 stars. I just hope there's an extra though <<less

Aweeeeeeeeeee!!!! My first time reading omega x omega pairing!

The story is about healing, acceptance and growth. I am not used to omega x omega pairing, I was skeptic at first, but the whole journey takes me to another kind of understanding. Although Alpha in ABO world were always regarded as the "protector" of their loved ones and the stronger kind, here it shows the other side of them. Also the younger omega, although he suffered a lot, he becomes strong in order to protect the one he loves. Story is heartwarming and is binge worthy.

Highly recommended!!!

I thought this is a very tragic novel BUT it is very heart warming instead ♥️

Two Omegas met and found each other's salvation in one another. I also love the ending. It is an open ending since it ended in another journey of their lives. Second time reading a novel between O & O, and I love this better since this is not all about smut but healing and living in tranquility and a future full of hopes

I don't write reviews.

Like Ever.

But after reading this, I had to write my review! This was one of the heartwarming novels that I had read. It was the novel that I needed for that cup of tea.

Fluff with a tinge of angst, Light Tea, Sweet Wine is for those who are interested in:

    • O/O pairings in omegaverse
    • Hurt/Comfort (in my opinion)
    • Fluff
The interactions between the MC and ML were a chefs kiss. The ML wasn't domineering or cold, he was sweet and I loved him for that. The MC was a hurting young man who needed the fluffy comfort of the ML and a better environment than the one he lived in
Spoiler

which btw the ML gave him later

[collapse]

Overall I gave this a 5 star just because it made my night.

p.s. I recommend (in my opinion) to listen to Soldier by James TW. It was the song that vibed with me while I read this.

A rare Omega X Omega pair..

Short and sweet.. Some angst in the starting.. But after solving it, the story flows calmly.. Not much excitement later..

Spoiler

The younger Omega is a high school student who was r*ped repeatedly because of his crazy mother's greed.. The older Omega rescued him and gave him a new life..

[collapse]

The young Omega has clear goal in his life.. The older Omega helps him in any way possible.. It should have another 'slice of life' tag, which is pretty uncommon for an Omegaverse..

The story might seem mellow.. But since it's short, it ends before you get bored.. <<less

I have mixed feelings about this novel. Perhaps I might not even be able to express exactly what I feel towards it, so this review is going to be quite long.

On the one hand, I appreciated the way it dealt with child abuse, child neglect and s*xual abuse, and took such subjects seriously. The abusers didn't suffer enough imo. But it was also realistic and understandable because the focus was on the victim/survivor and his healing, I can't expect face-slapping in a novel where revenge wasn't even the... more>> main point.

But on the other hand, the age gap was weird. I don't mind age gaps regardless of how huge they could be as long as it's between two consenting adults or minors who are merely few years apart and don't have a power imbalance big enough to impact the younger one in the relationship. In this novel, however, the age gap was 7 years but... between a 17 years old (the ML) and a 24 years old (the MC). And the ML's exact age was revealed in Chapter 8 while the MC's in Chapter 21 (I honestly thought the MC was 18-19 until this chapter), for such a short novel with barely enough chapters, it was a bit late to reveal their age since one already gets attached to the characters by that time, especially since one of them is a victim of abuse and you just want to watch his abusers suffer by the end, so you can't give up when the novel is still in the middle of healing process while you've already read about his pain in all the previous chapters. If the author had listed their ages beforehand, I would've probably dropped the novel even if I don't exactly regret completing it now (just can't take a risk when there's an adult-minor relationship in a novel, you probably know why...)

But I also can't seem to completely despise the MC (don't love him either) because he wasn't exactly written like a predator? Maybe, it's because the author took child abuse seriously and also gave special attention to consent in the main couple's relationship, so I unconsciously started to kind of trust the author and believe that they've a bottom line. And the first few chapters were honestly so emotional, the MC just helped the ML apply medicine on his wounds without even knowing him or asking for anything in return, he literally just saw him in pain one day and wanted to help him, their silent interactions and how subtly the ML's past was implied really tugged at my heartstrings. I just kept hoping for the best, for the ML to no longer be in pain and to stay far away from any harm. The MC also acknowledged their age gap, however through his manner of acknowledging it, it also seemed odd at times because he treated the ML according to his actual age and called him a kid from time-to-time, so it was like... bro you could've dated him when he's a grown adult, you know he's a minor and you literally watch him do his homework and prepare for his high school exams. If it's awkward for the readers, why isn't it awkward for him?

Yet, although, I definitely would've preferred them to be around each others age, I guess I can try to understand that the author may have intentionally chosen to depict them with different ages to highlight the contrast between them.

    • Teenagers, and children in general, often find themselves trapped in difficult situations. If they are subjected to abuse within their families, they have limited options for seeking safety or anyone they can interact with enough to develop trust. Additionally, they face greater challenges in coping with the mental and emotional toll of abuse, making it harder for them to distance themselves from their abusers.
Here's a snippet of the ML's thoughts explaining this in Chapter 12:

Spoiler

"I don't know what... to do with her."

The fear and the rigors were real, but so was the warmth and love that was once there.

Those warm and beautiful things in his heart tangibly existed. Even if erased, there were still traces of residue.

Human emotions were such complex things that even scholars and Zen masters were unable to see and understand them thoroughly, let alone children.

[collapse]

    • On the other hand, adults, although not immune to experiencing abuse, generally have more opportunities for independence. While it is unfortunate that many adult victims of abuse, whether from their families or within domestic relationships, still struggle to escape their circumstances, the majority have a greater likelihood of achieving independence. This is due to their ability to legally hold full-time jobs and potentially purchase their own homes, providing them with more avenues for seeking safety and breaking free from the abusive situations.
To put it in a different manner: the ML was like an abused caged bird, confined to its limited movements, gazing at the clouds and hoping to fly, to be safe, to no longer hurt. All he wanted was "a normal home and longed for gentle love" as he said so himself in chapter 21. Meanwhile, the MC was a hand as free as the one cruel enough to imprison him (the ML's own family), but with intentions completely contrary. Instead of keeping him in the cage or turning a blind eye to the bird's suffering like the others, the MC chose to cradle the bird, mend its wounds, and release it into the open sky; Yet, as the bird bird actually gazed at the gentle clouds, he flew back as he found solace in the hand that, to him, possessed a tenderness surpassing even the softest of clouds above. The cloud isn't objectively perfect to the one watching them together, but the bird likes it nevertheless.

These two "hands, " or actually adults, possess equal power, yet their choices distinguish them. The bird, however, remains vulnerable, with injured wings that can only carry it so far and barely shield him. It is the responsibility of the adults to keep him safe and sound, yet some would rather crush him and that's just... vile to say the least. I still can't pretend to be completely alright with their age gap though, however it's just one aspect I was uncomfortable with. <<less

I LOVE THIS! I am really tired of cliche A/B/O stories and this story is a fresh breath.

Their relationship is cute and good. Older omega helped younger one to get away from his struggles. There was not anything forced.I would love to read longer version of this, especially I really wanted to see younger one's promises' product!

It was a fast and loving story. 10/10 recommend.

I think this story was very well written done to the plot and everything needed was given based on the fact it's only 30+ chapter. It spurs up emotions and leave you satisfied. I wanted extras but I can satisfy where it ended.

This was a nice short read. I would say its a kind of healing story that I like. Though these kinds of stories might have angst, they are sweet and leave you with a positive feeling.

It was my first time reading an omega-omega pairing and it was refreshing. Both MC and ML (povs shift so I guess they both are MC) are nice and quite mature. It gives you heartache but then soothes you too.

I would recommend this to all who are tired of reading scum gong or shou and... more>> dog blood drama and are just looking for, as I said before... something short and sweet. <<less

Lovely short read.

Both are equally in love, respectful towards each other. Working hard to build their relationship while healing each other.
Since it’s a short story some plot hole do happen. But nonetheless still beautiful.
Read this if you’re looking for heartwarming and healing read.

Positive: This is the kind of story that warms the heart, it would be waste if you miss this one especially since it’s just a short read that can be finished in two hours or so. Plus!
Spoiler

the smut scenes are very >//<

[collapse]

There’s a bit of angst but that’s what pushed the story forward and everything just feels so heart warming, I swear.

Negative: It would have been better to know more of Mr. Rong’s emotions, it was portrayed well but I wish there was more as the story focused more on Chen Xu’s feelings that I felt that Mr. Rong’s character built up was a bit lacking but still, great MC x ML pair!

Overall: This is not a perfect story, there are flaws but gosh, reading this is so satisfying. My 3 hours of reading is worth it.

Loved it. One of the leads' story is tragic, however he finally finds happiness with the other lead character. I've never read before a novel with a OO pair, but I'm glad I did! Really cute, the healing type. Would have been even better with an extra.

Usually when I approach reading an ABO/Omegaverse, I wonder what is going to go to hell in a handbasket, and how quickly. This put all the hell at the beginning of this story and then the hell worked out beautifully. I want to say easily, but I can't. Neither of these two men had an easy way to go being omegas.

Which makes this truly an omegaverse. Two omegas, an abused and abandoned teenager, and a beautiful omega with his own issues come together, band together with similarities and desires neither... more>> saw coming.

And that is part of what makes this story memorable. Their love grows genuinely, organically and is a joy to behold.

The teenager's mother is vile. Not even when she is diagnosed with her mental health issues can she be redeemed. His father, however, is a better form of loser. They eventually form a loose relationship, though it doesn't exactly qualify as paternal.

The beauty has his own struggles, but there are some very interesting moments as those issues resolve themselves.

There is one s*x scene in this story that just knocked my socks off with how well-written it is.

A lovely, beautiful story of two omegas who truly need each other. Such a favorite. <<less

Although I liked it and I was able to finish it, I wanted to leave this for future readers as a heads up since I think it’s important for you to know. The ML is a minor. This is an established truth. He is a high school student and has always been referred to as a teen. MC is already an adult. I’m not sure what is his exact age, but it’s also established that he’s had an 8-year relationship since high school. So just a warning for future readers... more>> if this bothers you, I think you might have to give this a skip. <<less

leaving this here as a warning for others and as a reminder for myself on why I dropped this.

the writing is good and sweet. It seems like a good story. Just be warned that the ML is a minor, specifically 17 years old. This is established in the beginning. I read on to see, hoping ML was just 19 or something since that's still and adult, but mc's a whole 7 years older. Sigh. I wish reviews mentioned such an important detail considering people don't want to read about pedophilia... more>> and big age gaps.

MC practically raised the ml. ML seems emotionally dependent on him already. The writer tries to remedy the unequal power balance but it's still weird, no? You can't cover up such a thing when it's so huge and obvious. They keep trying to emphasize how ML can be like a kid and even more of a kid than the MC sometimes, but at the end of the day, the ML is still a high school student and the MC is a working adult. How are you gonna remedy that? <<less

This is, quite possibly, the best thing I've ever read. It's not flawless, with perfect narration and prose, it doesn't have a mind blowing plot, it doesn't have hundred and one amazing plot twists that make you lose your mind, it doesn't have brilliant world building, and it's omegaverse... But in spite of (and maybe because of) all this, this is the best, most precious thing I've come across in my life. I'm so glad I found this.
