the first 10 chapters are awful. Massive info dumps that were so hard to read that I would blatantly scroll through. I really considered dropping this novel because I had no idea if it was gonna get better.

I’m glad I decide to keep reading because it is a great little story. I would recommend giving it a try. Don’t turn away just because the beginning sucks because it picks up right away after that with great action.

I don't know why some ppl are criticizing the novel 1-14 chapters in, as if they've foreseen everything that's gonna happen.

Love the novel, the premise is clichéd and commonplace, but as you progress and read on, it gets better and better, character growth is great, you get to see it every step of the way, world building is not as immense nor deep but it does a pretty good job in writing about the places that the MC go to, not a whole lot is known about the world except... more>> for the kingdom that the heroine is in, but I do think the world will get bigger as the heroine continues her journey. Side characters are at least not discarded once after another after they serve a purpose, they're at least memorable and will be seen again in the future.

Fight scenes are really cool and I love the way the MC is not overpowered but gets strong as she fights stronger enemies and using her wits to win against enemies. I love the way the novel is not sunshine and rainbows. I get that some ppl don't like this novel, so the best you can do is find another one that suits your taste <<less

If you like an interesting junk, go ahead.

If you are a serious reader but want to read, don't get your expectations high and be mentally prepared.

There are many forced scenes and irrational characters. When MC needs some help, a Good Samaritan will pop out of nowhere (and in succession if needed). When there is no decent antagonist, an ally may become an antagonist to spice things up like someone has changed the roles mid-way arbitrarily. And the scene where the MC and the first princess make such grand oaths... more>> is very forced that makes me think whether I missed a dozen chapters somewhere. And don't even start how in the world seven-year-old princess can advise the king and meddle in the politics. Seven-year-old kids are godly in this novel and godly kids are necessary for the future of humanity and world peace. Kay.

Those being said, it is a a quite typical story that goes in a more or less predictable way and still bearable to read it if you do not dwell much on some issues. The thing I like most is that MC is not a punching bag. (I have some phobia of virg*n Mary+ punching bag MC after reading some novels. I am glad this heroines at least do not release defeated foes back.) I guess I'll read some more MTLed raws. Hope translation continues. <<less

I can't stop reading.

The MC is a literal sociopath with no regards to take other lives if it's for her own benefit, it's overall refreshing to see in the genre. She is someone that is striving to become stronger by her own volition, someone that is starting at the weakest possible, and not becouse she is the heroine of the supposed game.

I also loved how she reacted to the game knowledge from the reincarnated woman, declaring them as "nonsense".

At the same time her way of training and her progression is... more>> outside the world common sense

Spoiler

Started training at 7, becoming rank 1 in the first 3 months, rank 2 when she was between 7 and 8 years old, becoming rank 3 before 9 years old

[collapse]

Elena and Carla are amazing characters, both with their strong points and flaws.

Wolrdbuilding has interesting and original points, and some improvable points
Spoiler

for example Alicia/Aria not asking the master how she could have night vision level 2 when humans are restricted to lv 1, and how she could see magic particles instead of the more common "feeling them"

[collapse]

Last extra story made me want to enter the story and cleaning that tr*shes.

Translation is overall good, but can improve a bit in certain points (and has a discreet number of typos), the overall narration could be more immersive by avoiding some infodumps (some stuffs are clearly infodumped while they could be explained inside the narration better) expceially in the first chapters (overall the forest arc could gain with a bit more of organization in the narrative structure). <<less

A genuinely good series. A "heroine" who is supposee to be a happy feel-good lovely noble girl, becomes an utter antisocial psychopath. Rejecting her remaining family, her blood, and her predisposed happy future.

She isn't a "no-bullshit" strong girl, she is sociopath who kills with no hesitation or emotion. The moment she is outmatched, she runs. If corned she pounces like a wolf. She has no honor or care for anyone but herself. Nor does she trust anyone besides herself. I love the particular scene when she is given a room... more>> to herself in a mansion. Instead of embracing her warm bed she stages it as if someone is sleeping in it. Then she goes to the darkest corner, curls up, and holds a large knife b4 going to a light sleep. Prepared to pounce and kill anything that comes inside.

Honestly, I can't wait for the 2nd volume. <<less

THIS WHOLE REVIEW IS SPOILERS.

Spoiler

I was kinda bored of shoujo fantasy novels with isekai - "otome" plots. Got this recommendation from some forum that was looking for "Female MCs that could fit into a shounen plot".

The LN only has like 3 volumes, but the chapter are long, longer than most LN chapters I know of. Around 20ish chapters a volume.

First thing that caught my eye, this novel has a double twist at the start.
Usually with LN shoujo fantasy, the most generic forms of isekai are as follows:
1. Girl is reincarnated into the MC of the otome. 2. Girl is reincarnated into a Mob (basically means side character) of the otome. 3. Girl reincrated into the Villainess of the otome.
Reincarnation - The transference of the soul from one body to another.
The body can transfer its memories or soul to an egg in the womb up to a human adult in isekai.
The twist in Otome Survival is that the reincarnation isnt some supernatural, unexplained phenomenon in the story. Eg. MC dies on Earth and somehow their soul gets transported to an otome world.
Reincarnation is essentially just the transference of the soul to from one to another. The soul has the personality, memories and feelings of a person that defines them. But transferring does not have to mean cut and paste. Copy and paste is a subversion of the trope as now there would be 2 bodies with the exact same soul.
This is what Otome Survival does in its opening chapters. Alicia our MC, a 7 year old has an encounter with a strange women who steals a pouch hung on her neck. Inside is a ring, its authenticity causes the lady to start rabbling about an otome game.

The woman being much larger manages to pin down Alicia, and goes on a monologue about magic. Basically in this world magic particles are similar to magical atoms in that they make up what magic is. As a person uses magic, an elemental magic stone forms in their heart. This stone contains a residue of the soul of individual who housed it. The lady did isekai from Earth but unfortunately, she came into the otome world when the main plot has yet to arrive, decades in advance. By the time she actually could participate in the main plot with her knowledge of the otome game she would be old. In order to defy fate she created a magic stone, one that was not inside of her, but was continuously fed with her blood for some 5 years, creating a magic stone a kin to the one in her heart at that moment.

Blood in this otome world is connected to magic, as magic particles flow through blood vessels. This means that blood is a conduit for magic. The lady after years of research found a theory that a artificial magic stone replacing an authentic magic stone in the heart of an individual could conceivably transfer the soul from the stone to that individual, essentially, reincarnation.

The woman tried to open a wound in Alicia's chest to get at her heart but the girl swatted the knife away with her hand. In that moment, the knife slashed her hand, causing blood to fly. The magic stone and knife were in the woman's right hand, so when the hand touched the knife, it also touched the stone. Blood is a conduit for magic, and it seems that the blood of Alicia resonated with the magic stone. The soul of the woman travelled from that blood to her body, her heart and mind. In that instant, she became aware of a different life, the memories of the woman in front of her. But she also became aware of the woman's previous life, her life on Earth, and the memories of then. In those memories, the existence of an otome shook her greatly. - - The second plot twist of the novel in regards to the isekai troupe is that the MC of Otome Survival is the MC of the otome world is a native to the otome world. This twist is only made known when the woman attacking Alicia reveals to the reader her origins.

Alicia was not only hit figuratively with the memories of a life different from hers, she also experienced a wholly unusual life in a another world. Add on top of that the existence of the otome game, leading to her recalling the character of Alicia in the otome game even though she had never played the game.

This leads us to my likes and dislikes of the novel.

Likes: 1. Alicia as an MC is very interesting due to her base character and origin story. Given the soul of the woman, Alicia in an instant becomes enlightened. She had already led a hard life before this encounter and the powerlessness of her situation caused her great disbear. Empowered by that woman's soul, she grabbed the rock next to her on the ground, bashing it into the womans face. The knife leaves her hand, and Alicia uses it to end her life.

You can already tell if it wasnt obvious already that this world is very gruesome. Quite typical for an isekai fantasy world, but in this case, the MC is quite jaded to the world around her. She understands from her own experience and the memories of the woman, that the violence is a part of the human condition, and that everyone has a reason for why they fight. Alicia understood this, but because she understood this, she also knew that these motives were also meaningless. As she knew that her world was artificial, already written in stone, proceeding on already laid down tracks. Her questioned her life as she foresaw all that would happen in it. Terrfied by this fate, this future, she became empowered to defy it. She did not wish to follow the story of an otome game and live her life coasting off of memories from a deceased woman. She would make choices herself and defy this fate.

This resolve is the suspension of disbelief that allows the reader to believe that Alicia could be such a coldblooded person. Her taciturn personality and her lack of hesitance towards mu*der makes her an unstoppable MC in battle. Her build (small due to her being 7) leads her to become a scout (essentially a rogue type class), her small size means shes fast and nimble, but weak physically. Alicia is quick to act but also calculative. She studies her opponents, creates strategems in her mind's eye and uses the element of surprise to get cheap shots. She may be weak due to the limitations of a child body, but her mind is making up for her physical incapabilities.

The fight scenes are written very well and its pacing fits with the fighting of a rogue. The author does a good job of using Alicia's thoughts, what she sees and what she cant see and incorporates it all into a thrilling read.
The plot is much more interesting than an otome game plot (low bar) but the plot doesnt feel rushed to get to the main plot years in the future, which I like. We get to see the MC grow and timeskips are there to make the story more believable as the MC grows stronger as she grows older.

Thing I dislike about the novel:

1. A lot of dialogue between fights. The MC monologue sometimes gets in the way of fight scenes because she is characterised to be quick thinking while in combat. This means that some fight scenes have paragraphs of monologue for what the MC is thinking at that moment, which in the novel take place in less than a second. That makes the fights feel like its in a staccato rhythm, where there are short burst of fight scenes, and a longer drone of monologue throughout the novel. Although it does give up some of the surprise of reading the moves made by the MC, knowing the intentions of the MC as she does what she does is nice.

2. Unreliable narrators. Sometimes this is done to create suspense and then reveal something to the reader. Eg. A character tells the MC something but we as the reader dont get to hear it, only later do we get the answer of what was said from the narrator. However, sometimes it feels like the author is making fake tension for the reader as the MC already had a trick up their sleeves but because the author wanted to create a "oh no the hero is going to lose, but wait?" moment. The author does give us hints such that we could guess these reveals in advance but the reveals are sometimes paragraphs of exposition in the middle of fight scenes. Sometimes I wonder, "why couldnt the author set this up more beforehand? Then he wouldnt have to go on tangents to justify the MC's actions". In the book there are several examples of foreshadowing to a bigger plot moment later which require more details for the reveals to feel less bloated. There are actually a few times where the MC monologues her actions to surprise her target and does just that, with great success. Although there isnt any surprise on my part, I like that the actions of the MC and her thoughts and the narration are consistent. However this is one success in many failures.

3. You know how at the start I said that I found this novel on a forum looking for "Female MC in a shounen plot" novels? Yeah, it backfires a bit. The base motivation of the MC is to get strong enough that she can defy her fate as an MC of an otome game. The MC is a noble ladies daughter who eloped with a commoner. After they both died in a monster attack, she became an orphan. In the original otome plot, she would have been found by her grandfather and be sent to a Sorcery Academy, where the otome plot takes place. - - The MC does not want to meet her extended family, as doing so will get her placed in the otome plot. And because she doesnt want to meet them, she has to fend for herself, thus her drive is to get stronger.

The MC really is as dense and as straightforward as a shounen MC. Her smarts are only for fighting. - - And yet there are moments where this character breaks. The MC is not just one character, she is 3, in a sense. She is Alicia, the child of a noble lady and commoner father, who she loved and was loved dearly. The strange woman, an isekai'd individual who lived on Earth and in the otome world. And Alicia, the rogue child, a mix of her once innocent self and the woman's memories. Sometimes her child memories are pushed to the surface of her mind and her feelings of longing for a family that was lost to her come up. This usually happens when she meets people who genuinely care for her and teach her ways to get stronger. In those moments, we remember that she is still a child, and that is why is has such simple desires.

In a way, I like that the author is characterising the MC this way. The setting of the otome game allows for a very shounen story, as there will always be stronger monsters or humans in the world for the MC to fight. The motivation of the MC and how she gets that motivation is also interesting and different to where I can suspend my disbelief at the MC.

It's honestly a bit boring? So far there has been way too much info dumping for what story there is. Maybe it gets better? I'm giving it up after a creepy skirt flipping scene with the 7 year old main character.

Minor spoilers ahead, but considering I only read one and a half chapters, I think you'll survive.

While the writing is entirely mediocre as well as a boring plot and pilot chapter, the inconsistency in the MC's character is beyond staggering within just the first two chapters of volume 1.

Let me explain. After getting knowledge of the supposed otome game that she is in after killing her captor. She immediately goes ahead and declares that she will "reject that 『otome game』." Okay, cool, whatever. And then she directly contradicts herself by... more>> killing the old woman managing the orphanage purely based on knowledge of the otome game. Nice rejection. Plus, let's not forget that this is shortly after killing someone in self-defense, after being raised by parents who teach her to be kind and "no one can be bad" or whatever typical Shounen drivel. She somehow changes her mindset completely and starts mu*dering people based on knowledge that she is supposed to reject. Mind you, her reason for killing the orphanage manager is because based on otome game knowledge, a friendly and kind priest takes over the orphanage. In reality, we can see that the MC is coping and attributing an emotionally fueled grudge-based mu*der to some sort of higher and better reason to make herself feel better. We can observe that despite calling someone "insane" and "mad" for mu*dering purely based on fragmentary otome game knowledge, she goes ahead and does the same thing. And somehow the author agrees too? Because this never gets explored; the MC doesn't have nightmares or metamorphoses or any sort of self-realization. The author just self-inserted him or herself as the female MC with flimsy justification and called it a day.

There also is no character development. "Somehow, the MC got tough" and transformed from some kid who can barely endure her orphanage hard labor to someone who can calculatingly scheme, wait for hours, and kill based on a personal grudge. This is after the MC cluelessly tries to escape when the orphanage tries to sell her off to who knows where. Where did the calculating side of her go? Based on her actions of smoothly killing two people and running off, you'd think that she'd be able to foresee the pretty obvious fact that the orphanage sells off their kids. Shouldn't she start an actual escape route and plan? No, apparently she's just a shoujo MC and is dumb as bricks and suddenly turns into a calculative and scheming individual. At least in works like Warlock of a Magus World or Reverend Insanity, these cold and calculative MCs have consistent personality traits and there's a reason for their personalities to begin with. In this novel, again, "she just happened to transform as a person instantly in half a day."

Now, this is kind of fine if the MC is supposed to be some psychopathic killer or someone hellbent on revenge by killing everyone related to the Otome game, which would be funny to read. But no, apparently the MC is completely sane, has good morals still, and is "on the good side." The fact that the story tries to frame the MC as "good" is exactly the BS and mental gymnastics that the author tries to insert. <<less

Premise:

MC is an orphan in a high-fantasy setting with mild LitRPG elements. It turns out this is the setting of an otome game, where she's the female lead, it would be discovered that she's the missing child of a high-noble, get rescued, go to a magical academy, and have all of the usual tropes and clichés. However, instead she runs into a crazy, obsessed transmigrator, who tries to usurp her position by transferring her consciousness into her. During the struggle, the MC only receives parts of the transmigrator's memories,... more>> and getting indignant over her "destiny", she kills her and then sets out to power-level herself in order to resist the original otome-game's plotline and take her fate into her own hands. Hijinks ensue.

Setting:

Medieval European style fantasy world with LitRPG elements. Everyone has stats and magic, but there are no levels, and the system is descriptive instead of prescriptive (aka, it's not "gain exp, level up, get stat points, which makes you stronger", but "train your skills, raise your combat effectiveness, and once you reach a certain threshold, you are categorized as higher level"). Another defining characteristic of the setting is that, due to appraisal abilities being fairly wide-spread, after a certain point it becomes really easy to tell the strong from the weak, which results in a "common sense" that if you're at a lower level, you shouldn't fight someone at a higher level, something the MC routinely exploits early on to get the drop on her enemies, who don't even consider her a thread due to her age and level.

Also, while the setting is that of an otome game, with all the conventionally attractive male leads and the magical school and all, underneath that veneer it has a strong dark-fantasy vibe to it, though a good chunk of that is mostly due to the MC starting as a street urchin dealing with the dregs of society, assassins, thieves, and later various monsters as an adventurer.

Characters:

The MC is a young girl who starts without any skills. Upon absorbing the partial memories of the transmigrator, she "breaks", and turns into a stoic high-functioning sociopath. Her internal rule is that anyone who looks at her funny or threatens the few people close to her are considered her "enemies", and so that justifies killing them using any and all methods available to her. She starts out really weak, considering she's an abused orphan at the beginning, but thanks to a few good teachers and constantly throwing herself against terrible odds, she defines the commons sense of the world and ends up power-leveling herself to the point she's already considered a dreaded powerhouse by the time she's twelve.

Other than her, there's only a handful of side-characters. The most prominent returning ones are her sorcery/alchemy teacher, the old shopkeeper and the two dwarf craftsmen that support her, as well as the first princess of the kingdom caught up in a succession crisis due to the crown prince (the main male lead of the original game) being considered "too soft to rule". Besides them, there are a few others, like the crazy mage girl who's shaping up to be the main antagonist, another transmigrator girl in the body of a secondary villainess who's complete out of her depth, as well as a few one-off characters, but they end up fairly shallow.

Plot:

Otome game protagonist MC gets outside-context knowledge from a crazy transmigrator, decides to rage against the heavens by escaping the plot, she goes through various misadventures while learning new skills and powering up, gains multiple mentor figures, and kills anyone and anything in her way. Simultaneously, the original plot of the otome game is thrown off the rails, and all the original villainesses and characters start moving in unexpected ways, something the MC is mostly unaware of.

Overall:

This is a very well-written series mostly carried by the main character and the very expansive and detailed fight scenes (plus all the pre-planning that goes into them). The side-cast isn't particularly memorable, but a good deal of that is also due to the MC; since she's an unnervingly stoic, kill-people-and-ask-questions-later type of character, character interactions tend to be very short and businesslike (as opposed to the pages and pages of internal monologues and descriptions), so there's very little chance for the side characters to build any kind of rapport or chemistry with her. The MC's plot armor can also get a bit too blatant at times, but considering how hard she has to work for her victories, it's not too hard to forgive.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a gritty adventure story focusing on big, meticulously detailed combat encounters. However, if you don't like grimdark settings (or just dealing with the grimdark parts of an otherwise normal-ish heroic fantasy setting), sociopathic/psychopathic characters, children routinely acting like adults while adults routinely acting like goofy kids, I would have to temper that recommendation to a "maybe give it a look". Overall, it's really good, but not necessarily a must-read for everyone. <<less

Give it a read, it’s a very fun story. It’s main weakness is that it will never really surprise you, but it won’t disappoint you by veering off course either.

The fantasy world is very detailed, whether you enjoy that is a matter of taste, and the “game elements” are decently integrated into the magic so they’re not just magical powerups, and more like an interpretation of “reality” which is a big plus in my book.

I would also say the world is perhaps very small - all the disparate side characters... more>> just happen to all know eachother - but thanks to that it never gets bogged down with a large number of side stories and can focus on our heroine. <<less

I do like the main character. She's fun and free of a lot of the issues I often have with isekai protagonists. She's ruthless and very straightforward but she's not full edgelord. It's a good balance that's hard to explain, but the main character herself I enjoy.

That said the story as a whole is far from perfect and has huge flaws that the author adds in for a few chapters then forgets about, so while it could be bad it gets swept away soon enough that it doesn't get too... more>> grating.

But it's fun and I'm having more fun reading this than pretty much anything else on here. I just wish the author didn't add in so many random ideas that go nowhere or actively ruin the story. <<less

It’s a full-fledged fantasy novel that mixes epic and dark fantasy elements. The author created a real badass female character. I hope it doesn’t take the story away, in a dripping romantic direction where empty-headed boys compete for MC’s attention. This would be completely at odds with Aria's personality. And I hope the author doesn’t take the story into a slice-of-life school story. I hope the story stays on this epic-dark fantasy line.

I think it’s one of the best (Light) fantasy novel series of recent years. The style of writing... more>> itself, the elaboration and background of the characters, has reached the level of reading a D&D novel.

It was once or twice when straight the Drow novels came to mind. <<less

I swear that Haru no Hi is the best writer for bad*ss FMCs.

The world-building of this novel is decent, there isn't any plot holes, or any that I can find, out there. The magic system is simple and not overly complicated, and it's also similar to other novels that Haru no Hi wrote, which I quite like.

The characters are pretty good too, we are shown many of the character's backstory which sets the mood for fights and events better.

The premise of this novel is also quite unique. Instead of a... more>> villainess making a comeback, it's the heroine who's trying to make a change.

The style this novel is written in is also very good, I like how the author write backstories in a relatable and interesting way. Also the protagonist is very bad*ss, and I love bad*ss but cute FMCs.

10/10 for entertainment, absolutely recommended. <<less

    1. This is probably the most exciting novel I've read, probably because of how amazing her combat skills are, and her way of observing the enemy before actually attacking, smart way of thinking if I do say so myself. Though her killing intent is making me shiver if I was in her opponent's shoes, I don't think I'll even win anyhow.I also wonder who will be the love interest, though I don't even think she has time for a relationship, but I think im rooting for Elena and her.I really hope this doesn't get dropped. Thank you translators for translating this.

Basically what u/flower4 said. I was already annoyed by the fact that she was working under someone to become strong instead of doing so alone, plus that rude kid.

The tipping point is definitely that part where they becomes friends and swears to help each other once in the future, even if it means killing the demon king or the king, essentially giving away their life. This happened in literally THREE chapters (check chapter 25 to 27 if you think I'm spamming). Like seriously, in Korean novels it would take, according to my experience, 50 to 100 chapters for their relationship to go to that point.

I like this alot. The story not just about survival but become stronger. The battle in this novel is very fun to read. MC use alot of trick to win enemy with higher stat than her stat, and this novel have good stat and skill system. There is no stat call HP only lost of real blood and flesh that can make that one die. She is merciless toward all of her enemy and have low common sense sometime.

I had high expectations but I can't ignore the obvious shortcomings :

1. The MC is too hard core : ignore the the God blessing, refuse the her status as a princess and become a lone adventure.

2. The author is a sexuset all the female character are geniuses bad ass with hard core back story with OP power but high risk, in other word absolute main characters, while the Male character are just spoiled whining rich kids who fell for every girl that say nice word.

I love the MC description :... more>> she is the most beautiful girl in the world, she is not beautiful because she is the Heroine, she is the Heroine because she is beautiful. <<less

This is good. It's nothing too spectacular, but I definitely recommend reading it if you're into the genre.
    • The setting is isekai-otome-game, but it's not completely bland, there's actual world building.
    • The story has a fairly standard premise, but there aren't useless/drawn out arcs so the pacing is good and engaging. My only criticism is that there's a little too much plot-armor, the protagonist really lucky with her encounters.
    • The writing, in a sea of souless isekai novels, is good, there aren't any major plot holes and again the pacing is good. I see a lot of people complaining about huge info dumps, but I didn't feel that at all while I was reading, there's some paragrafs here and there, nothing extreme, better than having no exposition at all.
    • The action scenes are the highlight, they are well coreographed and have strategy and planning behind them.
    • Protagonist is on the edgy side, but not a complete psychopath, overall I found her likeable. There isn't much to her personality other than "I have little common sense" and "want to become strong enough to decide my own destiny" though.
    • Characters have some depth, which is a lot for this kind of novel. A criticism I have is that there's too many childrens that act like adults, there are reasons for it, it's not like the author doesn't know how to write children, but there's fewer actual children than childrens that act or are adults on the inside; a lot of them could have just straight up been adults, there's no reason for them to be children.
    • The translation is good but I think they have no editor/proofreader, there's the occasional cluncky phrasing, and a lot of small typos. Nothing major that gets in the way though.

I love the author's other works, so I read it with high expectation. But vol 1 almost made me drop this a bit because of how the developments feel like it's forced. Aside from receiving knowledge which is already so much, she receives help from multiple people throughout the first volume. It's just too convenient, though this was reduced on the next volumes.

Another issue I have is the MC's monologue about herself, it's kinda edgy. The translation too has an occasional bad sentence structure and wrong spelling. It didn't look... more>> like MTL and actually decent especially if the translator has a (good) editor.

Now despite these issues, this is still so good and something I will recommend to read. Even if this kind of MC is not new anymore, I like how she, despite being a child, dance with death. Every fight is satisfying and very good. I'm always looking forward on how she will grow more. I like how the Aria is kind and caring even though she's usually like a wary stray cat. Furthermore, Aria is badass and beautiful which is NIIICE. <<less

How to explain. I really enjoy it but at the same time I skimmed through a lot of parts. The premise is really promising, it reminds me of a shounen with a female lead. It’s true that the FL feels OP and she is but honestly isn’t that the same with the male protagonists in other novels? I like the character of the female lead a lot. The one thing that prevents me from rating this a five star would probably be the world building. It feels a bit lacking... more>> or I feel that it could be explained more clearly because more often than not I couldn’t really comprehend the principle behind certain skills. <<less
