The scenerio/stages is very interesting but that's about it.

The cast is boring and can be found in a hundred different novels. Deus ex in this story is almost unbearable.

MC is like a robot who will not exhibit any emotion other than greed. You might see him have any miniscule amount of good in him but no, he always has ulterior motive and is evil to the core.

Also I think it's in the action genre first and horror second. No horror to be found here after the first arc. Nothing is... more>> a threat to MC and most of it is gore and gross factor. <<less

I'm not going to rate this as I'm almost at the end of arc 2.

So, the first infinite flow horror I ever read was KoD and to be honest it's hard finding novels nowadays that are on that level.

Before I read this one, I thought with the rating and since it's horror I would get the same KoD experience but no.

... more>> The novel itself isn't bad, but for me, a good horror novel is getting immersed in story. Feeling the mood, getting scared and this novel has none of it.

Heck when I read KoD I could barely sleep but I slept really good while still reading this.

Like I said, the novel isn't bad, it's just me. I was expecting some riddle plot solving horror with a bit of action. Experiencing death with the protagonist against the supernatural but nope I did not experience that.

The protagonist is super OP which in some cases I do enjoy. But like I said I was expecting to be scared, to have the mindset that he was going to die instead all I felt after the first arc was how awesome he is and that he is going to make it through.

I know the protagonist was going to survive but all I wanted was the tension of how he does.

In the first arc we get to see what happens to the protagonist when his mental value drops so there is no suspense there when it is used in the second arc.

I wish the author would have taken it slow in how the mental value affected the protagonist in each arc, as that would have brought great tension about his survival to readers. How each stage of the mental value drop affects him.

Another complain I have about this novel is the viewers. I get it the protagonist is awesome but for the viewers to continuously praise his intellect and to have contrast with jealous low level player is just meh. I really didn't appreciate it. But at least you can just skip those part.

You know, I have read novels that are with OP protagonist that I enjoy. I just came with the mentality of this one being different with all the reviews.

I was expecting horror, not a thriller novel with supernatural creatures because that's what this is. I am not a fan of action but I don't mind a bit of it here and there. But for it to be solely action and the plot or background of the game to be thought out by the protagonist without any clues being found and just on simple basis especially for the second arc is just disappointing for me.

I didn't feel the horror just the action. Sigh.

Please this review is not to be trusted as it only based on my feelings.

I will try to read further before planning on whether I should really drop it, but for now I don't think I want to read it in this mood as it would be biased against the novel.

After all my rant, the novel itself isn't bad. If you like action thriller with a hint of horror (supernatural creatures only), this might be for you. If I actually liked action thriller, then I would have definitely rated it 4/5 because like I said the novel itself isn't bad. <<less

this became my novel of choice to lie in bed and procrastinate on studying for my midterm for 9 hours. was it worth it? objectively, no. subjectively.... also no.... im gonna fail my midterm.......

but this is a really good plot with great worldbuilding and a diverse cast of characters. like, god, where was this gem hiding in a sea of horror system novels? probably one of the best ive read yet, and its still ongoing.

might elaborate further later but am kind of in a pickle regarding my, uh, midterm.

This novel is beautiful.

If you want an infinite flow novel that has a cute-ass MC and an overpowered ' i'll carry you through all instances' gong, then this is not for you.

This novel's MC is assertive, deranged, and calculating.

He's not one of those ice-cold manipulators from the back that just watches you jump like a clown. He's a madman greedy enough to take everything with the necessary skills to back it up. He'll make you believe that a thing's 100% sure even if it's just 50%. As long as it's... more>> worth it, he'll dare risk his life.

There's something with this leader of the Wandering Circus that's different from the other infinite flow mc's.

He's a devil.

He didn't solve the instances because he wanted to save his life with his friends along the way. Neither did he solve it to get his destined lover. He did it for himself. His own fixations. His own greed. His own obsession. His desire to hoard for wealth is what keeps him going and I find it really nice to see him succeed. Even if he does evil things that'll hurt mankind. There's just a unique charisma present by following the actions of a madman.

Bai Liu's a broken character. And he never pretended otherwise.

Other than this novel's charismatic MC, it also has the instances going for it. The setting of the world is intricate and well-founded. I read it till the latest arc which is the 'Rose Factory' arc and I can say that every outcome is foreshadowed one way or another. The first main antagonist also comes in before the arc and I can just say I'm impressed even though I am very much annoyed at the antagonist. The author managed to create an antagonist where it doesn't feel wrong for him to know the mc's actions and read the mc's moves. It is also in line with the world's settings.

Although the romance bit is very much missing for a BL novel, (I swear even in the latest chapters the ML is just so rare to see) the side characters are more than enough to make up for that. The relationships among the characters in this world are very amusing to speculate on and keep me hanging to see what'll come.

I'll probably change my rating if there are any drastic changes to where this novel is headed but I really like it the way it is right now. If you feel that the translations are slow you can probably decide to support the author buy buying the chapters for the novel in advance just like what I did, although it'll be in chinese text. <<less

Spoiler

my status right now: DROPPED

I'm very disappointed. the 1st two arc were really really good. 5 star to both. 3rd arc is getting downhill. too many deux ex machina. so many repeated scenes that were like, "actually this thing happened at previous scene but just wasn't revealed to the reader" and it left a bad taste on my mouth. once or twice are acceptable but it was done several time throughout the arc. 2 star for 3rd arc.

and then come the "reality" interlude titled Dangerous Heresy/Heretic, and it just get off the rail. suddenly there was a parallel time-line hunter that want to capture/kill Bai Liu based on future crimes that Bai Liu apparently destined to commit. the hunter even mol*sted Bai Liu during interrogation (he fingerf*ck Bai Liu's mouth ewww) and Bai Liu just doesn't resist. tf? I'm so mad. I also really HATE the hunter's conceited presumptuous holier-than-thou attitude while being a drunkard and Bai Liu wants to recruit him into his team? tf?!

and don't get me started on the illustrious ML. he is only mentioned on the author note. the actual character barely appeared. but it was indicated that ML is a cthulhu-like entity and hey, "actually" Bai Liu might be one as well. I'm rolling my eyes so hard right now.

in conclusion, only the 1st two arc are actually unlimited flow story. the rest are just nonsense from the left field the author shoe in as cash grab from their gained "angels" aka cash cow.

and I'm super disappointed because arc 1 (siren town) and arc 2 (exploding train) are really good & interesting. unfortunately, all the good things that were inferred there were just tossed aside by arc 3. it all goes, "actually, it was like this so whatever said in arc 1 & 2 are rendered null & void". ugh... so sad & mad. to think I found a good unlimited flow but was left hanging. well, I'm off to find other story to read.

Rating 4.5/5

Unlike any other novel of its genre. Unique world building, amazing characters and developments, romance done beautifully, MC that can stand up for himself without ML ✓

My only complaints are: each arc is really long, and it can get quite boring sometimes. However, they always end in amazing ways. Also, the feels. Author did not warn me of the feels. I cried quite a lot. (Or maybe I'm just a crybaby)

The story starts normally like any other unlimited flow genre with a physically weak but smart MC. What makes me stay and read this despite how normal it looks is the MC's way of thinking. He thinks in such a unique and crazy way that any other people wouldn't've thought of and dared to try. He's a money loving gambler! The plot starts to pick up at the third arc, and just gets more and more amazing. Everything starts to unravel slowly, and you realize everything has been foreshadowed from the beginning and there's more than what is shown. Like, so much more.

The horror part is also good. Some of the description is just pure grotesque. But what really gets me is that some of them are just disturbing in a way it can actually happen in real life. Characters are really fleshed out. Especially so for the main cast. None of them are perfect, and you might think they're useless or selfish or hateful, but once you get their backstory and see their growth, it's just.. Wow. Character development is real. One thing to note about the characters, none of them are good or evil. They're all grey characters with their own moral standards and circumstances. This is especially so for the MC.

The MC is:

Spoiler

Manipulative and ruthless, even to himself! How many times did he come out of the instance almost dead :') But you'll get to see more of him throughout the story.

[collapse]

As for the romance, it's superrr slow burn. In fact, ML rarely appeared in the beginning. I think in the first 100 ch. It's at one point, I actually ship MC with one of his teammate lol. But there's a reason why MC and ML are the CP! Each of their meeting, short as it was, are always so precious! All in all, this is a really great novel. If you like unlimited flow genre this is a must!

I have to temporarily drop this novel here due to the introduction of the main antagonist literally giving me a headache.

I absolutely love MC to death. He is the devil you sell your soul to, but he will always upkeep his end of the deal too. He is 100% manipulative and cunning and I love it.

ML rarely appears but its so sweet when he does. It does make it worth the scarce few times he appears.

The side characters are also amazing. They are humorous yet capable, and each have their... more>> own strength and flaws.

Although the arcs are kind of getting ridiculously long since by chapter 144 it is only between arc 3 and 4.

But what made me drop it temporarily is the main antagonist. He is absolutely annoying and the author gave him wayyyy too much screen time. He is annoying in an over-confident justice-obssessed idiot kind of way, so it get incredibly grating when the author gave him 2+ chapters of monologue! Why author why. Then after those chapters just when I think I can move on it starts a flashback into his past. Why!!!! I really don't give a crap about him at this point. If the author needs the flashback then put more of his monologue into the flashback! But 2+ chapters of monologue and 1+ chapter of past flashback is long for any character, not to mention one so annoying he gave me a literal headache. <<less

(I come from finishing all the Chinese raws)

TLDR: Characters 11/10, Plot big-brained/10, HiGHLY RECOMMEND

This novel exceeded my expectations in every single way possible. Though I have to give a disclaimer upfront: the "romance" part of this story is pretty minimal. This is not to say that the ML or the MC's relationship with him is insignificant in any way. Instead, it is a very crucial driving force behind his actions and the (very complicated) plotline and backstory of the whole novel. However, there isn't that much time dedicated... more>> to their interaction to them being "love dovey" or whatever. If you're looking for a romance-centric BL novel, this is not it. The novel is dominated by plot, character development, and the found family trope. It is a very f*cking good novel, but I would hesitate to call it a romance novel. Also it's quite different from all the other horror game-based Chinese novels as well. If you're looking for a satisfying, face-slapping, quick-transmigration-esque novel, this isn't it either. The first two arcs (Siren's town and the mirror city train arc) are actually quite reminiscent of the genre, but everything afterward is just so different in the best way possible.

The third arc, the orphanage arc, is where I first started realizing how good this novel was going to be. Without spoiling anything, let's just say I was genuinely shocked by two plot twists in a row, and also incredibly impressed by how good the author was at making the characters suffer. The first two arcs were already well-written tbh, but the third arc was where I started to realize there was depth. And then the fourth arc with the heretic department comes along and holy shit. Like a lot of the readers, I had my scruples with Tang Erda. But at the same time I was incredibly frustrated, I also understood him. My advice is to just try and put yourself in his shoes. I think anyone else would have been driven mad by what he had to go through (once again, props to the author's ability to come up with incredibly traumatizing backstories), and the fact that he even remained sane to this point is almost unbelievable. So while I was indignant at how he was treating the MC, I could never find myself truly disliking him. And it paid off in the end, because
Spoiler

he became one of the MC's teammates, and became one of his found family.

[collapse]

None of the characters in this novel is truly black and white. Tang Erda as I mentioned is a good example, but all of the MC's teammates. None of them are genuinely bonafide "good people."
Spoiler

Especially since we know what they were capable of in the other parallel worlds. But then you can't call even them in those worlds truly "bad. The five buildings arc revealed that even when they were doing all of those shitty things, it was not truly according to their will.

[collapse]
I can hardly talk about the ML tbh without spoiling because its just too goddamn complicated like he has three names in this novel that's how you know it gets goddamn complicated. Just know that uhhh who you think he is within the first few arcs isn't an accurate representation of who he really is and what he went through and how the MC actually knows him? Lol? Like you find out his uhhh real identity I guess during the heretic bureau arc. But then he also has a third identity later on and it's super obvious when he appears tbh.

Spoiler

His third identity is Spades and he's like simultaneously overpowered killing machine and dense lizardttle boy (it'll make sense later). And it took quite a long time to actually reveal how the this piece of the ML's identity really fits in. Like you think he's just a soulless physical container, but then no it turns out he has a soul and you think it's a different soul from the ML but no turns out they're one and the same. Like even Spades himself thought that he was a different entity from the ML because of the God's lies and he actually fretted about it very hard to the point of wanting to sacrifice himself but IT ALL TURNS OUT OK KIND OF.

[collapse]

Their relationship is uh. Very not smooth sailing. And I don't mean that in the typical level of petty arguments and cold wars but no like at a life and death level of not smooth sailing.
Spoiler

Like, the ML kills himself kind of. And then the MC was f*cking devastated but he didn't really show it but the way he didn't really show it made me cry even harder. And then the MC kept telling ML he hated him but then he also kissed him and it's all very complicated and they even got married in a game instance and then Spades (the no-memory unawoken-soul ML) genuinely fell in love with the MC but then the MC was super mean to him because well he killed himself kind of. And then Spades kept trying to get him to accept him without even knowing what love was because he's like not really human. And he even was happy to be a substitute for the ML (even though they're kind athe same person ok ITS COMPLICATED) because he didn't really know what that meant, he just liked the MC too much.

[collapse]

There was this kind of cute little interlude where the ML went back into the past and meant the MC during his high school years and accompanied him and they had time to be lovey dovey for a bit before it got angsty again.

Spoiler

Oh, and also there's some serious memory-wiping during this novel. So when the story first started, the MC didn't remember the ML from his orphanage childhood, or from his high school years at all.

[collapse]

Anyways, the story is very plot heavy. Each game instance is like 30-40 chapters long or something. And looking at the sheer number of chapters I really thought the story would drag on for me. But it didn't at all. Each arc is so f*cking interesting. It might start off a little boring but aside from the first three arcs, every single subsequent arc reveals more of the deeper underlying storyline.

Spoiler

The "game" isn't just a game, there's real-world consequences for each game instance. But then everything turns out to be "a game" in a way anyways. A very long game between an evil God and a prophet, spanning hundreds of timelines. And this world just happens to be the final one.

[collapse]

It takes a lot of brainpower tbh to understand exactly what's going on. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to read this novel in pretty much one go (though it still took a very long time due to the sheer length). And because of that, I basically understood pretty much the entire storyline. It is very complex. There's like more turns than I thought was possible. But everything was explained pretty well. The one thing that I still didn't really get, however, was the ending. I feel like... it was quite rushed. It sounds a little absurd to say that a novel with almost 600 chapters could be rushed in any way, but the ending did feel like that. The last few "arcs" were much much shorter than every arc before it. And although it ultimately was a good ending, I feel like the author didn't round it off well enough. Like I was in tears for basically most of the ending chapters because there was just so much angst. But when it finally was resolved, and when the resolution was explained, it was just way too short. The explanation was not adequate, how the MC saved everyone was kind of just written off in a few lines. It just felt... lacking. And emotions-wise it felt lacking as well, because I was in so much pain from the angst but then when there's finally a happy ending we barely get to see the MC reunited with his found family. Like the entire "happy ending" was condensed to like one chapter, with the majority of the chapter given to the ML. Which is fine, I guess. But then as I mentioned one of the biggest attractor of this novel was its good f*cking characters and the found family element and I just wanted more of them.

Spoiler

ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THE ANGST I WAS FEELING WAS FROM THE AUTHOR KILLING EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM OFF LIKE PLEASE. I WAS DEVASTATED AND NOW THEY'RE FINALLY ALIVE AND YOU GIVE THEM LIKE ONE LINE OF DIALOGUE EACH LIKE COME ON.

[collapse]

Ok but anyways, despite that, I can't give this novel any less than 5 stars. Even though it was rushed at the ending, all the 580 or whatever chapters before the ending was just so well done. And I can't even sh*t on the ending that hard because it was still the ending that I wanted to see, even if it was overly condensed and I didn't understand much of how it happened. But this novel is just. So good. The characters are so layered, so three-dimensional, and not just the MC's team. Basically every single character that's given some "screentime" has a story, has a personality, has reasons for their actions. And more important side characters such as the leaders/members of the bigger guilds in the game are given so much character building, backstory, and development. Like every single "powerful' member within the game ultimately turn out to have something to do with the big bad God and the general underlying plotline. They're all important, and they're all more than who they seem to be. Side note, I think my favorite non-teammate side character is Hearts. Hearts' story is just too good and at some point I even had the blasphemous thought of "sorry to the ML but I wouldn't mind if the MC gets with Hearts" LMAO. I just felt way too many things for this character.

Spoiler

Even the "non-game" characters as well. MC's "good-guy policeman" best friend Lu Yizhan. And Lu Yizhan's fiance, Fang Dian. None of them are who they seem to be pls. They're so much more important to the MC than what it seemed like in the beginning, and they also played very crucial roles in how everything started and how everything ended. And I love both of them so much. And I wish they got more f*cking time during the ending to reunite with the MC fihda;lfbjdsai;fdsal;fsa ok please I'm still salty over the ending.

[collapse]

And regardless of how many "IS THE MC A GOOD GUY" struggles I had during reading this, I really really really love the MC. Like the ML really suffered a lot as well and I felt so bad for him whenever the MC was mean to him (but then you think about how much the MC suffered because of him and it's like a lot more ok LOL). Anyways, I care about the MC a lot more than the ML. Like on the surface he's so f*cking cool and attractive and smart and calculated and who wouldn't love that. But then the more you read the more you know about him and what he went through in the past and how much pain he probably felt at certain moments. And he ultimately got through all of that, somehow, and turned out to be this barely-law-abiding-but-STILL-LAW-ABIDING normal functioning human being and all the question about "is he a good guy" goes out the window. Because holy f*ck, after all that, he still turns out to be a decent person. (Kinda). Like he seems to be kind of scummy and a shithead at certain moments but he never does anything that would actually genuinely harm someone innocent. Or someone he cares for. And then he goes through a lot of more painful moments during the novel itself and you can tell that he's in pain (and that one god sacrificial island arc or whatever pretty late in the story confirms that he's under an immense amount of suffering). And yet he pushes on, cold and calculated and winning. And it's just. He's just such an incredibly strong and incredibly good character.

Spoiler

And the thing is, he wasn't supposed to be a good character, everything around him has been designed by the Big Bad God to make him evil. He was evil in every single other timeline. He's literally been walking in a tightrope his entire life, and because of the interventions of his best friends, he managed to stay a good guy until 25 and entered the game. And then he met a bunch of people he ended up caring about. And he managed to continue staying a good guy. But yet it's not entirely like he's been dragged and forcefully contained in the good side that he continues to be good. He was already born different from the him of all other timelines. This was evident in how Xie Ta loved him when he was 14. And this was also evident in how Lu Yizhan was willing to trust him, to allow him to entire the game, to believe that even when encountering the most twisted sinful human desires, he would stay good. ugh ugh ugh I love bai liu

[collapse]

But yeah, anyways, time well-spent. Loved the sh*t out of this. Genuinely couldn't put it down during a lot of the more intense plot moments. shed a lot of unexpected tears. <<less

Too much deux ex machina.

Spoiler

He survives an attack from the boss villain by having 0.5 health points or some decimal number. Just plain ridiculous. There's no rhyme or reason.

[collapse]

For a character who allegedly has objectively 0 luck (according to his stats), he sure is damned lucky.

But I decided to stick with it and the second arc doubled down on the MC having some masterful plan or surviving due to plot armor when no other character can. It's hard to describe it, but basically the character doesn't feel smart, just every other character feels dumb. <<less

The MC is as Gary Stu as it gets.

Although his luck value is 0, he is always extremely lucky. If his health is 100, the enemey only hits him for 90. If his health is 10, they hit him for 9. If his health is 1, they will surely only hit him for.9 at most.

Although his combat values are low, he wins every fight. When his mental value falls below the threshold, he never suffers hallucinations and continues to make rational decisions. Entering the mindless rage state is just another... more>> tool to him. When his intelligence value is halved, he still manages to outsmart everyone and everything. Not that it matters, because it turns out he figured it all out the moment he loaded into the instance. Wow~. So efficient~. /sarcasm

Even though MC is a heartless scrooge who controls people to get what he wants, he still manages to gather loyal followers who will gladly die for his sake. Also the ML instantly falls for him and becomes his invincible ace in the hole. What enemies to lovers!? This doesn't qualify in the least.

This kind of tensionless novel is so boring. Also it looks like a puzzle solving horror novel but it's 90% fight scenes. Sigh. I wasted my vacation reading so much of this... why.....

Two stars because I've read way worse lmao. Dogwater webnovels have really ground down my sense of taste. <<less

WARNING: For people who search for fluff and lovey dovey romance, then this novel is really not suitable, so please don't come and ruin the ground and insulting this novel full of high intensity plots because you can't find CUTE MC, OP ML, and lovey dovey scenes here *rolled eyes*.

This novel has one of the best MC, because he does everything by his own (not being carried through games by OP ML like other novels). The MC is very charming, his personality is really bewitching, he is a true born... more>> leader and tactician, able to nurture his subordinate, understand their strength and weakness and draw the best of their abilities.

Note to the reviewer before me, PYONYAN.

The content that the reviewer said above is absolutely not correct, about the things that say; "main antagonist" wasting flashback for 2 chapter, that's a BIG NO! The guy who appeared in the arcs around chapter 140 is:

Spoiler

That guy is the future older brother for the MC!!!!!! That's one of the most loyal supporter for the MC in the future chapters damn it QAQ It's f*cking big misunderstanding to say he is an antagonist, and even saying he is wasting two chapters QAQ His flashback is very important to the whole plot in the novel, and also very important towards the MC. The guy himself will become a very important character who stand beside the MC...

[collapse]

This novel is still ongoing as of March 2021, so many of the novel contents are very different. What happened in chapter 140 is very different when it comes to chapter 200. And what happened in chapter 200 will be very different in chapter 300. And this novel is not even half finished (I guess, from the timeline and the main plot). The antagonist in chapter 100 can become a brother in chapter 200. The passerby in chapter 200 can become a secret boss in chapter 300. This is the way this novel work, LOL.

But I have to say, this novel is really unlike Unlimited Flow! THE PLOT AND THE ENTANGLEMENT BETWEEN CHARACTERS IS THICKER THAN BLOOD!

I mean, this novel's plot really is not simple at all. The plot is not as simple, and the character's development is also well drawn. For people who love detailed plot and no plotholes, this novel is really the best. For people who don't really care about romance, this novel is really the best.

The MC and ML are very lovable. The MC is not the most genius guy in the novel, but he's the best tactician who understood his own and his comrades' strength and weakness the best, able to draw the best of their ability in a match. The romance in this novel is a subplot. The ML even rarely appear (poor ML QAQ), but once he appears he's super sweet and good. Until chapter 240, there's still not enough information about the ML's complete background and his resolution of romance with the MC. I actually like this novel that is thicker in plot than the romance, so I still enjoy it a lot. <<less

I read this novel from the raws, and I quite like it so far.

I liked how it goes so far and the game plots, mainly in the first two arcs (The Siren Town and The Last Bus).

MC schemes/tricks are very satisfying. His tactics revolve around him and his cooperation with his teammates trusting in him.
Each character in the story has a distinct personality and trait, with some characters have something in common.

The MC

Bai Lu is a wise-maniac that goes beyond human limits. He's greedy because of money and spends on cheap products because he doesn't want to spend lavishly. He is a keeper to his promises IF he got something in return or the person trusts him in their life.

For example, he is severely injured, to the point that he has one life left, yet, he still wants to court himself to death and lived.
If someone wants him to do something and their price is valuable, he does not fail their expectations.

And you know what is more incredible? He treats the horror game like a JOB. Even I could not believe it.

He also has the worst luck of them all, like goddamn! (And this is just my theory, but I think the reason why his luck is zero is due to our ML. Who is- !)

I'm looking forward to ML and MCs relationship. They are very cute together. Though, It may take longer because:

ML SPOILER ALERT
Spoiler

ML rarely shows up. He mostly shows up at a critical time.

Xie ta/Sheta/Taville is a being that has been put to slumber until MC appeared in the game world. Originally, he's related to MC's past and MC's weakness.

I can say that he's not an overbearing character from the way he interacts with MC. He's an aloof person with an aura that could make anyone think differently, blaming him. I think he likes poetry or philosophy due to his words.

In the game, he subtly helps MC. However, he has limits to doing so.

Interactions from Ch. 215
(My Favorite Part from the Rose Factory Arc)

Spoiler

Italic sentences are Tavielle talking to Bai Lu.

"My future? What about you? Your summer will not wither, right?" Bai Lu joked.

"I don't have summer.

I only... shared your summer.

This summer is pleasantly beautiful. It's the most beautiful summer I've ever seen, but these... don't belong to me.

I will always leave."
---
"You're leaving again, aren't you?" Bai Lu asked.

"We will meet again.

This place is not your rosy summer. I won't stay here, and you should not stay here.

When the sun disappears in three quarters, there will be people looking for you. Don't be afraid of the difference brought by death. Don't be scared of the damaged inverted cross in the middle of a snowfield

Don't be afraid of living or dying.
Don't be afraid that I will leave your summer.

I am a *Spoiler* without summer, but I have the whole winter waiting for you."

Really love this!! 💕 I'm a fan of plot-focused novel and horror/survival infinite flow. This one suits my taste. MC is really calculative and I like the first 3 stances, however the heretic bureau chapters (reality) really pisses me off. Will wait for rose factory arc to be finished before reading

Not recommended for those who like novels with fluff, and focuses on omance bet MC and ML.

This novel deserves a 5++ rating for its first two arcs. It was so good and engaging. You have an MC who is a madman who doesn't care about anything else other than money. I just loved his character. But after those two arcs the story goes downhill faster than a slide. The repeated and dragging arcs that follow the first two has become so unbearable to read. If the first two arcs were just ordinary then reading the rest of the story would have been fine but the first... more>> two arcs just makes the expectations sky high so when it is not met afterwards the disappointment become huge. <<less

Everything below is a SPOILER! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! (Also, this is just an outburst from reading the novel for 2 straight days)

It is very slow romance. Slow in terms that the ML is appearing almost at the end of the copy. Well, it wasn't still explained in the novel as to why he was weak (sleepy after being awaken) but powerful. (One thing is... He is an evil God.)

But I was really absorbed in reading this novel that I bought it from jjwxc and read it... more>> there. (This way I can support the author, hehe) And in there, I was really impress how MC's brain works!! He's too awesome! He is very impressive in terms of how he solves and always one step ahead of the enemy. And wondering why he's intelligence is only 89 when he more looks like 100! He could turn over everything even if his luck is 0. Very amazing!!

"This is my transaction and cooperation with him, and compliance with the transaction, is my basic ethics as a wanderer." -Bai Liu

Ahhhhhhhh!!! I love him very much! That's why, I was truly irritated when someone from the Bureau who is a time traveller or so he said, came. He's super annoying! I want to proceed with the storyline! But because of his interruption, the latest chapter is the beginning of the third copy! Ahhhh!!!! He's super duper annoying! I want to smoke his face! I hope his appearance doesn't interrupt the storyline anymore huhuhuhu.

Oh oh! And I want to see Spade! The first in the game. As he didn't appear as of yet in front of the MC. I suspect his identity somehow heheh.

That would be all for now.^^ <<less

Highly recommended novel!

MC is really a clever, greedy maniac. Assertive, deranged, and calculative and Manipulative, ruthless, money loving gambler! MC like to have control over his surrounding, make deals for high benefits but sonehow he is really is caring person to the people he close.

His personality very much shown with his ability "poor wanderer"

Spoiler

skill: poor wanderer

Skill item: empty old wallet

It's a transaction ability. Two parties agree to the transaction with medium as money. Skill, point, items, life, beliefs, even soul can turn to be money and become tool in his hand.

Ability made with someone's deepest desire. Mc's desire is money or low cost effective but high benefits deals. So money and transaction become his ability. But there's also one of side affect. It's if MC buy someone's soul, the person became emotionally depending on the soul owner. Their life, death, choices all in the hand of MC. This also shown mc's secret desire of wanting someone who he could trust and cared, to be his own kind and never betray him.

ML
Spoiler

Xie ta/Taval/Spades

[collapse]
doesnt have lot of screen time, at least at the begging of the story. We only have little impretion of him as a over powered character in the game, would always came to mc's aids. But its really not. He look overpowered, but not enough. He is a being that has been put to slumber until MC appeared in the game world. Originally, he's related to MC's past and MC's weakness.

Spoiler

ML is clearly not a human. And he rarely has human feelings until he met with MC. It's like soulless monster meeting another monster, and without even expressing, develop a soul just for each other. That way they are very unique.

[collapse]

Relationship doesnt start until almost at the end. Romance is tangle with past. MC value ML and ML too value MC. Both willing to sacrifice themself for eacother. Both had suffer from past and with their helpness to protect each other. MC had clear view of romance, including the fact that he impying if they building a relationship both should willing to do they parts. Lot of messed up romance, but sweet, and beautiful.

Plot is brilliant. Setting of the world is intricate and well-founded. Even though every ark is too long and the wnding is bit rushed, it's still worth it. All characters are amazing. Have they own story. Believe me but this non of character can devide in to black or white. They all gray. Have they own problem. Just read it until the end, this really worth it.

Things to aware:

1) long ark

There's really long game ark. One ark could be 50 episode long. (What you expect when whole story has 589 episode?) Every ark has detailed lot. But believe me, they are all worth it. Every horror game has powerful, detailed and logical story building. And very much unique way of game clearing with badass MC. Only problem being long. Still every ark important. (Specially when every ark connected to each other but you don't even know until you read at least half of the novel.)

2) ML appearance is little.

MC and ML enconters are really little, at least first half of the novel. To the 250 episode, they are only 4 encounters. But later half of the novel we got to see ML a lot too. And we can also discover his persanality. Then you find out he is not overpowered, and there is no love at first sight thing. He is more pitiful than you can imagine.

Spoiler

He is fallen god without human soul, later the soul born because of falling of MC.

[collapse]

3) romance

MC and ML are really made for each other but You only get to know it at later chapters. MC very much aware his feelings, not dense or naive to others feelings. Not s*upid nor lost his mind at love. Have clear understanding what he want and what he really desire. Even at one point he tell, if the ML is like the rapunzel, who locked up and needed to save to get him, he would not save and put clear effort until other ML also show his feelings and effort to work on. MC is cleary cleaver peraon. ML is also smart to understand what he need to do in the relationship.
Spoiler

as spades, purely on his instincts.

[collapse]
Only later you can understand how much they love each other. Speacially at they own memory lose they meet again and again just to fall in love. If I count correct MC has two memory loses about MC and still fall in love for him totally three time.

4) MC being heartless, and cold blooded.

He really is. Its also shown at 4th ark, how bad MC can be. But if you really read to the end you will see MC isn't really heartless as you thought and belive me you will feel like crying too. More when you got to know he more heartless toward himself. Both MC and ML had suffer a lot, and they still can be clear and calm minded without driving crazy, to the point there's only few times MC express his sadness.

5) MC having zero luck but the same time having many lucky encounters,

i can somehow understand that. I mean MC had bad luck. So if he choose one of two choice, what he choose would always be the most difficult or bad one. But at the same time all those lucky encounters wasn't always lucky thing. (Like what if they are someones manipulation?)

6) mc's mantal point - health point decrese to 0.005 or something but still ended up alive and well.

In the first ark for me a fancy, powerful MC show up, trying to catch people's attention. But at the same time MC is someone go hard on himself, even at possibility of 50% failure, he still would gamble his life on it. Also he also have power to hold on himself that he could endure all illusions and pain. The early chapters we see him as powerful person. But only later we get to know who he really is. He is powerful, and there's clearly reason for that, but still not powerful when he meets the real villain. Even the plot really start after 3rd ark.

7) villain

We would not see the real vilian until half the story finished. And the most other enemy MC finds are all characters niether white or black. In same way MC isn't all good person too. But the real enemy, you would surely hate him. He is much powerful than both MC and ml. Like a MC,
Spoiler

(clearly the MC without soul)

How What Was Supposed to Be Yet Another Cheesy Unlimited Flow Danmei Made Me Cry: A Lesson on Expectations

This is what I was expecting from this story: an unlimited flow version of the super-powered/undefeatable MC trope we all know and love so much, with BL thrown in for some spice.

What I got was trauma, tragedy, found family, and a story that could almost pass as gen for the first 250 chapters. ML doesn't really start to interact outside of the rare flashback (he appears in every arc, but it's extremely... more>> limited) until 240ish. That's not to say his presence isn't felt; his significance continues to build from the first arc, and by the time he's finally 'introduced, ' we have a very clear picture of what he means to MC.

Spoiler

MC's background is full of real-world horror. He's unlikable and scares other people, even without meaning to. ML is the first person he connects to as a kid (they're both kids at the time, for the record)... and then, of course, ML dies horrifically. MC forgets about him, and it's only once he remembers his true childhood that the story really begins to kick off.

[collapse]

MC is broken, as many other reviewers have said. He's cruel, ruthless, possessive, and incredibly controlling (often in a very literal sense.) He wants what he wants and he'll do anything to get it.

Spoiler

Literally anything. There's a strong implication that he sold his body as a kid to try and get him and ML out of the orphanage. He drives people insane with their own desires. He mu*ders, steals, deceives, and forces cruel choices that make people wish they were dead.

[collapse]

He also has a near-mechanical purity of purpose (fulfilling his own desires) that would make him two-dimensional if the author was any less talented - but in this story, it just serves to highlight exactly how different MC and ML are from the rest of the cast.

Spoiler

This purity is described as 'monstrous' in both their cases, and it's truly an appropriate descriptor. MC is not human, and despite his final choice, he arguably remains so for the duration of the story. Humans have fickle desires and those desires change based on context and situation; the same isn't true for MC and ML.

Even the morally good characters are shown to struggle with this because they're human. The few times MC comes close, he's almost immediately removed from the situation (death, isolation, etc). There's a reason for this, but it keeps him as 'monster with a tinge of humanity' rather than 'human with monstrous characteristics.' Same for ML, although he's not quite as violently set apart.

[collapse]

When the romance finally starts, it's not easy. There are sweet and funny moments, but this isn't the typical unlimited flow where one character definitively dominates the other, even when they're tagged as a power couple. Both MC and ML are very difficult people. Both of them don't experience many emotions - so when they do experience them, the emotions can turn violent and out of control.

Spoiler

See also: their first arc together. They get married; they also both almost kill each other and the entire world line.

[collapse]

But they get their happy ending in the end, even if getting there is anything but easy.

The side characters in this are also extremely well-defined and compelling. It's a very character-driven story, with no man (or woman) left behind. I could go on about all of them for thousands of words.

Spoiler

It's the side characters, not the ML, who bring out the MC's tinge of humanity. It's shown, though, that both they and the ML have to be present for MC to make human choices. If either is missing, MC becomes the evil god. MC is so naturally predisposed to becoming an evil god that it's happened in literally every other world line. It's a very delicate balance that has to be pulled off to perfection to work, and it almost doesn't.

[collapse]

I highly recommend this story.

I can't believe this is rated so highly

At first, I enjoyed the sense of humor and the eccentric behavior of the MC, I had high hope especially because of the high rating, I thought it would continue and get better. Then I feel the tense and spooky atmosphere and like it a lot, the first encounter was pretty well done, but... it goes downhill from there.

Spoiler

The MC was portrayed as a rare genius who is very bold and reckless because he loves money more than his life, but other than a few instances where he is rather observant, most of the time it was luck and deus ex machina at work despite his luck supposed to be 0. It is a common tactic that inexperienced writers use, to put a little bit of hint here and there so that the MC could deduce very specific information or situation that is well beyond common sense to make them looks smart because the less information you have the higher your IQ, BIG BRAIN!!! It is a similar mindset to mary sue where the protagonist can do everything and anything on their first try without learning or practice and have no flaws, that means they are strong and likable right?

But that wasn't the worst part, I enjoy misunderstanding and comedy genre where nothing makes sense as long as it is funny and interesting but after the first few chapters the comedy is gone and the tone has been mostly serious so the author expects us to take it seriously which I cannot. But even then it didn't bother me too much, I'm used to reading garbage and the story and world-building are interesting enough that I could continue reading however, the worst part of it all is the goddamn peanut gallery aka backseat gamer that would appear once in a while and more and more often as the story reach its peak, they are the viewer/spectator that is supposed to be the veteran that has at least cleared the first mission and watching the MC for fun or gain information and their comments are pure cringes, it is so painful I have to take a lot of effort to continue reading until at least I finish the first arc/mission because I'm so curious as to why people love this mediocre novel so much. If it was only one or two then it won't be so bad, it makes sense for some people to be spiteful ironically or not but it was ALL of them with one exception and he is supposed to be the voice of reason in this insane asylum.

The dynamic goes like this, the MC does something unorthodox that doesn't seem to make sense so the peanut gallery steps on MC calling him s*upid and leaves his stream but then the MC is actually a genius and actually do really well against the challenge and and and the peanut gallery praise him and his viewer count rise and he gets thumbs up but then MC does something unorthodox and rinse and repeat FOR OVER 10 TIMES IN 20 CHAPTERS goddamn it was beyond annoying. They exist solely to make the mediocre MC seems like a genius because if everyone has a negative IQ then even a normal person seems extraordinary indeed, especially if that normal person has bulletproof plot armor and the blessing of deus ex machina God who is also his boyfriend.

Shonen Ai/Yaoi is nice and all but how the f*ck does this get an 80% 5-star rating?

This book has a really interesting premise and I really like it at first but every single instance felt like it lasted a lifetime and slowly got more and more boring. I’m not too into books about horror but I tried this and I like it but it just wasn’t interesting enough to read over 100 chapters especially when I was so done with the book and was only there to see where the relationship would go only for it to not even really be mentioned. Agreed with most ppl here, first 2 arcs were good. I liked horror and suspense there, otherwise, it's too f*cking Mary Sue-ish for my liking.

After savoring the first 2 arcs, you realize there's nothing much more this novel can give ya. You know he always gonna survive 'cause the god-level NPC took a liking to him, he always gonna be the 1st, gonna break record after record, become the best out best... Feels like the "weak to strong" tag is there just for show.

Most don't, but I like it when... more>> the protag loses once in a while lmao. It breaks the immersion when you know that he's gonna beat everyones' asses and come on top every damn time.

Anyways, I guess ya get the point. Liking Mary Sue protags is all good, but writing a Mary Sue protag in a f*cking horror novel is a sin deserving a one-way ticket to hell.

P.s: 3 stars for good translation and first 2 arcs. <<less

I really like MC!!!

The arc / games is really good! I love it very much. Every game is creative and interesting.

Spoiler

Will author really give us 50 minimum games or will they skipped the games? I will be dissapointed if they skip the game progress to the fighting arc.

[collapse]

For me, personally.. I don't think the romance itself necessary.. I think without romance the story itself still be good.

Spoiler

MC met ML end of arc 1, in the end he ask for kiss.

Then many more ambiguous request which is kinda abrupt.

They meet every ending games and he always ask for flirtatious request

I get it he appreciate boss design, but.. Like ???

I ship MC with his police friend, because without the police friend he will went astray, too bad the police has girlfriend, and author seems to 'forced' MC too the bug npc..

[collapse]

Even though I don't like the romance part, I still feel this story is great!! I love MC's personality, bottom line, his relationship with his comrade, police friend, and creative game! I think I know where this will lead to.

Spoiler

He was caught and asked, why he dont have the coin, and was judged as the game maker.

He was confused why MC is different in this timeline

Which make me THIS IS BECAUSE OF POLICEEE FRIEEEND, he protect MC to not lead into astray!!

sigh too bad my ship will sink I think..

I will read for games, horror vibe, not romance.

[collapse]

TDLR:

  1. I read for MC's personality, moral, bottom line, relationship with his friend
  2. I read for horror, and each arc / games
  3. I do not read for romance, cause I feel it isn't necessary to couple MC with him
