SGH is a multiplayer online tactical competitive shooting game.

When Wen Xi first came into contact with the game, like most people, he used a gun as his main weapon.

But his shooting skills were too poor, often having teammates vent about whether he was the master of outlining the human body.

Until one day, he picked up a bow.

Since then, SGH has had another archer assassin named “Wency”.

It’s said that his arrows never miss their shot, a hundred shots and a hundred hits, killing with one blow.

It’s said that only the first ranked sharpshooter “Mac” succeeded in killing him.

It’s said that he likes “Mac”.

Wen Xi: …where did this rumor come from? Mac, come out and clarify!

Mo Chen: En, it’s a rumor. Actually, I like you.

A shou who wholeheartedly wants to make money through livestreaming vs. A gong who wholeheartedly wants to trick the shou into joining his team.

It was fun reading about the MC shocking and terrifying everyone with his bow, and I really like his personality, but I didn't like the ML at all. Aside from his god-like sniper skills there isn't anything else good about him imo. Even the way he's so devoted to MC is a bit of a turn-off because he does it in a way that shows that he doesn't care about everyone else, even his teammates. And that's just terrible considering he's the team captain. The team dynamics are just so... more>> bad, though it does get slightly better later on, and ML does reflect and change for the better. But it wasn't enough for me to like him.

I did like the other teammates, they had interesting personalities. And I liked the side CPs. My fave character is still Ai Zhe/Love Pig, though lol. <<less

Another fairly low-rated novel. I like the beginning of the novel especially between the interaction of the main couples but sadly towards the end, the author barely gave it attention. It suddenly became the side dish of this novel. It focuses more on the game elements. I just feel disappointed cause it has a lot of potentials especially since this novel has a few side couples. I just hope the author grabs this opportunity since this novel has a romance tag. I'm sure it will attract more novels since the... more>> author did a good job of giving life to the characters. Only the romance part is rushed and bland. Especially towards the end,

Spoiler

I was so shocked when suddenly the main couple wanted to get married already. Like, just like that. It was so surprising cause it wasn't a few chapters that they confessed to each other then suddenly get married so, it was shocking.

Either way, if you enjoy reading novels that focus more on the game elements, you can read this. At least the author did a good job of writing that part. <<less

I'm kinda disappointed in this novel, the first half was good but after it becomes quite boring. But if u like e sports novels with more competition than romance then this one is for you. I personally prefer when there's some more about the private life of the main characters like in FOG or I CAN DO IT. The amount of dog food was HUGE but since the relationship was, in my opinion, rushed I didn't particularly enjoy it.

The amount of dog food was good but don't expect any light smut scene or anything. They kiss something like two times and then marry eachother...

It was a fun and enjoyable read. As a gaming novel, the game setting was lame, there was minimal strategy needed gamewise and it was mostly either skills or luck, which wasn't particularly interesting. (Game was probably PUBG or PUBG imitation?) As a BL novel, MC and ML were cute but the relationship was quite sudden and simply built on the fact that they play the same game and then somehow just ended up liking each other?? But overall, this novel was honestly a pretty fun. There were many times... more>> when I was just like "lololol wtf" in a 'wts is happening this is so random but funny' way. Side characters are also cute and fun. Overall, a very enjoyable casual read, good for some fluff and non-serious gaming vibes (lots of accidentally lootboxes and friendly-fires lololol). <<less

If you're looking for fluff then you're at the right place. However, if you are looking for interesting and deep and complex plots then you may consider another novel. This honestly is a very simple novel. The plot isn't too complex but it's quite well written I guess? The main purpose of the novel definitely conveyed clearly and something I like about this novel is that the relationship between the MC and ML didn't happen all of a sudden. So it kind of took quite some time before they actually... more>> got together (not rushed at all). Overall, there is character growth for some characters and most the characters in this novel are quite lovable. Yea that's pretty much it.

Will recommend if you're interested in fluff and a simple plot. Good for relaxation <<less

I started eSports novels by first reading Love You 59 Seconds and instantly fell for the genre. So I pretty much enjoy reading every eSports BL.

This novel is the kind where Romance comes second with which I'm fine as along the way we can see the ML and MC's development. ... more>>
Spoiler

Tho romantic development is quite abrupt but not completely unexpected. I enjoyed reading the novel but got a bit bored while reading the "domestic trials" part as it was quite a bit draggy. Then the finals were concluded just like that! I mean author should have added a bit more suspense and details? (But I guess she exhausted her everything just describing the domestic trials?)

Then comes the wedding part... How should I react? I read so many BL's and this is the first where I saw this kinda rushed decision to get wed? Author should have at least added a part of greetings each other's parents formally!

Aside from these few problems I actually quite like the novel... And all the side characters are gems! Their antics are hilarious... I actually shipped Lightning and CC!

About the side couples I don't have any complains but wanted a bit more of WolfPig couple. WeiZhe couple is the kind that I like the most! One is Tsundere while the other one is sunny! Also felt really happy that LY found his love despite everything... So if you like this kind of genre then go for it...

TLDR: chapter 1-70 was very good, and the rest was lackluster

Usually, my complaints about pacing would be that the novel dragged on for too long. However, for this one, it's actually the opposite. I think around chapter ~70 or so, the author themself wrote a note saying that they have written everything that they wanted to write, and would begin wrapping up the story. And you could definitely tell that's what happened. The remaining 30 chapters had very minimal development. It felt like I was skimming the novel even though... more>> I wasn't. There were very few moments of relationship development between the two main characters or even the side CPs. It was like, as soon as the confession scene was reached, the author has decided that it was no longer necessary to really write about them. The few "sweet" moments in the later parts of the novel basically had no substance. And a part that bothered me a lot was:

Spoiler

They motherf*cking immediately agreed to like, get married? After the confession? Like. Literally. Noo hesitation. It straight-up sounded like a joke but then they actually went and got married after the global competition. And honestly I would have been fine with how fast it happened if there had been adequate development in their relationship after the confession. But honestly, there wasn't. I guess I was happy about how accepting both of their parents were about this relationship, but I don't even recall Wen Xi telling his parents about it at all before deciding to get married abroad. Like, no matter how accepting his parents are of same-s*x relationship, isn't the problem here that their son just went and decided to get married a few months into a relationship without a serious discussion?? And it's not even like there are any familial issues preventing a discussion. Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but I really don't think there was enough development between the two of them to decide on marriage.

[collapse]

With respect to the gaming aspect, I feel like it was done quite well in the beginning. I've played FPS games before so it was quite easy for me to understand the setup of this game and the description of the matches (especially Wen Xi's archery skills) might be exaggerated, but fall within the realm of creative liberties. But I really don't understand how the author just decided to summarize the global competition the way she did. The entire premise, all the initial setup, the reason that Wen Xi joined CLM, was because he wanted to accompany Mo Chen to win the global championships. And there was so much like potential with how Mo Chen was absent on the first day of the championships last year. There was just so much the author could have done with it in terms of character development, conflict resolution, and written a very satisfying climax with teamwork and the joys of accomplishment. It's not like I particularly enjoy angst or dog-blooded plot points but honestly, I would have preferred if the author threw a few conflicts in there. Like how are you going to just write 5 chapters summing up what was meant to be the penultimate of the story.

Anyways, perhaps the author was trying to avoid being overly repetitive, or she got bored/tired of writing the same games over and over again. But there is a lot to be said about the pacing of the plot and the development of the characters' strengths. If you hurriedly rushed to make your characters so strong, then you needed to have the foresight of how they could develop, and interestingly, in the future. I still ended up giving this story a four star because despite all of my complaints, I did very happily read the first 70 chapters, and there were a lot of lighthearted and sweet moments even in the rushed ending. Overall, when reading a novel like this one, it's best to not overthink the plot holes. The enjoyment factor is still a net positive. <<less

Positive:

  • This is really good! I don’t play games so I tend to avoid novels with game plots as I might not get it but in this novel, everything was understandable and clear! I feel the ups and downs of the games, the tension and everything!
  • I love the MC. Some might say that he’s very OP especially with the bow but we have to remember that he played Spirit Trace for years and he was a god there so it’s really more on MC’s practice and experience
  • I love how even though the MC/ML are good at playing games, they weren’t too OP, they had down times too
  • The relationship between the MC/ML is very natural, not pushed at all, I love it!
  • Side characters are given real substance here, this novel is not just about the MC/ML
Negative:

  • I feel that the later part of the story (Global competition onwards) was quite rushed. The tension building from the very first chapter was very awesome but it suddenly seems to fall short in the Global comp. I know they’ll win, but I did hope the narrative there wasn’t just like a summary explanation. The Domestic competition Arc was like 12 chaps while the Global competition arc was just 5 I think
  • The last few chapters especially the MC/ML’s interaction was a bit like a story filler, just too much dog food everywhere, not much explanation
    Spoiler

like how they suddenly got married etc

    [collapse]
Overall:

  • Even if you don’t play games, you’ll find this novel very enjoyable as long as you like characters workimg hard towards a goal, team play etc

It is a somewhat sweet gaming novel. I was really rather excited when I first found it and I loved the 1st half of the story.

The 2nd half I thought it was rather anticlimactic and although I actually like gaming novels I thought this story (2nd half) focused too much on the game and it lacked the interaction between the MCs... And then they got married.

The story was ok to read. It had some good humorous moments but I would not choose to reread it.

Cute novel with moe MC and cold but soft on the inside ML. It features a shooting game similar to PUBG called SGH. The MC is crap at using a gun (at the beginning, at least) but he's godly at using a bow because of his experience in another game. ML is a professional gamer with a bad reputation in the gaming community.

The MC is seriously so moe! His actions are always very cute and a bit absent-minded, but he's endearing all the same. Underneath his cute mask, he's hiding... more>> a vicious side that comes out when he gets serious or really pissed off. I thoroughly enjoyed his meng moments. Really too cute >_<

The ML is pretty textbook - serious, overpowered guy who's a bit cold but likes the MC because of his skills ingame. His "double-standard" attitude was a bit overplayed in my opinion, but he's very sweet to the MC and eventually learns to play nice with his teammates.

I think the novel is alright. Both the MC and ML are super overpowered and don't really struggle much ingame, which makes it a little boring when you keep reading about their headshots and wins hahaha. There's almost too much dog food, really makes you feel for the other teammates who have to see them acting like that all the time. It's fluffy, but not really to my taste. Read it if you're into overpowered characters and lots of CP moments :) <<less

The romance in this novel is quite cute, though if you're expecting good gameplay, you should probably skip this. Half of the novel is the ML and MC being OP at the game, and its romance with only a little bit of gameplay.

The romance is quite cute, though a bit fast, and how they protect each other on the battlefield is fluffy. Lots of dog food for you to choke on, which means tons of fluffy and lovey dovey moments.

This novel was quite fresh and new in the beginning, but... more>> even I, a lover of e-sports novels and a reader who almost never skips game chapters had to skip a few parts in the novel. Perhaps it's a bit repetitive, but take it as how OP the ML and MC are with their snipes and Arrows.

Overall a light read, no drama at all, and quite focused on the romance. I'd recommend this if you want a romance with e-sports on the side.

P. S., I'm taking an online class right now and the teacher is talking about e-sports. What are the odds. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

This is a very fluffy and cute novel without any drama going on. The gaming aspect was very fun to read mainly because I am a fan of OP characters. The romance was slow but felt very natural and there were plenty of cute moments even before the main characters became a couple.

Cute story!

Glad I gave it a shot. I’m like their manager, didn’t want to dip into e-sports for fear I’ll get addicted. Lol, I guess I fail at abstaining. I came for the fluff and stayed for the banter and humor, and the adrenaline of their games lmao. Characters are unique and refreshing, not copy pasted. I didn’t feel the novel lagged because I began to fall into the e-sports pit and it was awesome to see the passersby's reactions to the scattered dog food. Awesome, loved it

Don’t know what happened to the pacing one-third way into the novel. First part progressed nicely with good developments. Then it became sometimes fast, sometimes slow with no particular reason.

Had some nice fluffy parts, some satisfying game play strategy parts, some nice bantering & face slapping parts. But most of the second half passed in a blur—sweeping past a lot of the game play; which I guess because of the nature of the game requires multiple rounds of playing to be fair, but because of that gets a bit dull... more>> and predictable. Zooming through their sudden relationship (and side character relationships) progressions

suddenly married?? With what maturity? What emotional growth??

[collapse]

A bit of a pity as I grew to like the MC’s unique soft ferocious bunny character in the first part (a different kind vs. ICDI’s MC) which became a bit lost in the middle and we only saw flashes of it at the end.

Looking back, seems like a lot of it is hinging on the fact that ML is rich and talented, so it’s so lucky that he is rich and has understanding parents who can fund his e-sports dreams ‘cause the set up for this CLM team is based entirely on this second gen rich kid’s funding and his childish goal of wanting to win the championship. I acknowledge and appreciate how he

but it doesn’t detract from the fact that if he were a poor kid a lot of things in this novel wouldn’t work. (Vs. Glory or FOG) His trauma/emotional backstory was basically resolved in half a chapter HAHA.

I found this story to be quite cute. The main character and the love interest have good moments together and zero toxicity.. But like other comments said, the story really lacks depth in some parts. There's not much more to it besides them being gods in the game and never losing.

They even acted as a couple from the very beginning, so when they actually got together, it felt very underwhelming. And in my opinion, the main characters were a little boring. Not in a bad way, just that they didn't... more>> have much personality. I felt like the side pairing had a much more enjoyable trope/story than the main one.

It's still a very cute story that I enjoyed reading though. <<less

Not an amazing novel but is still funny at points, I guess? Tbh it might be better to look for something else rather than read this.

The beginning was very well written and interesting but as I read further along, it became more apparent that nothing was going to happen that would make the story interesting. A lot of the relationships aren't developed well, especially MC and ML and there is an almost total absence of character development.

It's also hard to get attached to the characters, I barely saw any interactions... more>> between MC and the rest of the team that lasted more than two sentences, which was kind of disappointing. It feels like the POV changes halfway through and then the MC just kind of gets lost in the background.

So, try it if you want to, it's not too bad (Translation was really good though). <<less

I love it lol. It's amazing. I honestly don't know what to say.

Anyway, the MC is pretty much OP in this area since his weapon is not mainstream, thus making it harder for the enemy to analyze a way to defeat him. Plus they don't have any idea on how he can hit despite being away from his view.

It's been a while since I last read it so I can't give detailed review. But lemme read it again. Coz I'm curious again lol.

Highly Recommended!
