Until the last arc of the novel, this was pretty interesting and actually a refreshing difference compared to other world hopping novels.

The first difference compared to other novels is the fact that romance between ML and MC isn’t the main thing. It honestly seems to be an after thought. With the exception of the third arc, ML doesn’t really play a pivotal role in helping the MC overcome his current missions. So it’s actually pretty refreshing in that MC completed the missions mostly on his own merits.

The second difference from... more>> other typical world hopping novels is that MC did not know that the ML was the same person in every world. That may be off putting to some, believing that he cheated. But MC literally had no idea that the ML’s in each world were the same person. The closest he got was in one of the later worlds where his first impression of the ML reminded him of many of his precious ‘lovers’.

The third difference is that most arcs are satisfyingly long, and it doesn’t really have that rushed feeling when it comes to each arc.

Those were some of the pros to the novel, however there were some themes that might turn people off. The following were pretty low key but plot relevant in each world. Some of the things mentioned pedophilia, su*cide, bullying and gaslighting, cheating, nominal in*est (in which one person had no idea they were related and another did and seduced the other) and attempted mu*der of family. Some of it does involve the MC and other characters.

A con to the story is that each arc ends really abruptly for the majority of them. I will give props to the author though because the endings do improve as the story progresses (they actually have a fast paced ending chapter by the end of the novel).

Another con is the fact that when the novel first starts to introduce the ML’s actual background, that of a cultivator and all that implies, nothing is actually done with it. Instead we get a rushed job at the last chapter where it is barely, it’ll any, mention of it. If feels like we, as readers, we’re deprived of the actual ending of the novel. Maybe something happened to the author that forced them to accelerate the novels completion at a fast rate, but it’s still overall disappointing that we never got the ending that was implied between arcs.

A con for me personally is the last arc. To me this one made absolutely no sense in how the MC and ML got together. SPOILER: I think they were trying to show that while in previous arcs, it was ML chasing MC and in this one it was opposite, but the flow was terrible. It came out more as forced to me, like it was again an afterthought because if they tried it anywhere else it wouldn’t fit. <<less

I agree to those reviews before me. The ending arcs were really abrupt.

Still, every arc is enough for one novel if the author could make the ending complete.

Anyway, this is the first novel I've read where ML was just a BG character. As in, just a bg. Character.

If ML did not appear in the begin, he will appear in the middle and will dissapeared and appear randomly in chapters. Hahaha

ML the legendary mob!

I would like to say, I hope many people can see this because I'm genuinely so annoyed by the translator!! Not only does the translator like to put translator notes in the middle of the story (which aren't helpful they're literally just translators own opinions like 'I hate this guy' or 'lmao') but the way they have translated is too weird!

The more I read the more I felt something off, the style of writing was strange and inconsistent and just plain weird with strange usage of words. I figured it... more>> may be just the translator but at a certain point I was like this is too weird what does the MTL say?

It turns out! Many parts of the translation are super different to the original! >: (

At first I thought I was paranoid or something and maybe it's just some localizations gone a bit extreme but it's more than that! Translator is legit adding and slashing whatever it's infuriating! Not only giving the ML and other characters some added words to their dialogue like 'yahoo!' Or 'hee hee', or 'hee hee ho ho' like what. Also making ML swear more with F bombs and many mentions of female dogs if you know what I mean 😭 I was shocked to see the difference in a lot of that dialogue. which really messes up the reader's view of the character.

Spoiler

e.g. The mtl: YF replied proudly, "It's good." I finally won.

the translation: YF replied arrogantly: "Very good." Finally he won. Hehe hoho losers, he won!

[collapse]

not only this but scenes are cut down by a lot in many places and simplified greatly which has made the character interaction with MC and ML and supporting male lead (I've only read arc 1 btw) much weaker, and sentences are randomly added. you can't even call this localization anymore it's like half fanfiction at this point!

Spoiler

e.g. MTL: What he didn't say was that he opened the window and looked down and found there were several pink hair salons below. The lights were ambiguous and he immediately felt bad.

translation: What he didn't say was that when he had opened the window and looked down he had seen live actions of couples doing ejfnfnfcndnc. He immediately felt Oh no.

[collapse]
^direct quotes guys I'm not kidding I cannot tell who is the bad mtl here 0_0

I would also like to point out some of the replaced dialogue also feels like it has the translators bias. Like I don't like the brainless cannonfodder girl either but translator really...

eg. MTL: On the back seat Yuan's father lost his temper at the wide dissatisfiedly and said, "The camera was just shooting. Why have you been holding the little girl's hand for? I don't know if it will cause a misunderstanding? This kind of girl who wants to hook up with Fengzi is not good minded, she should throw a check and teach her how to be a man! Thinking about dating boys. It's not serious!"

Spoiler

translation: In the back seat, father Yuan complained with dissatisfaction to his wife and said: "Just now the camera was shooting. What were you trying to do holding that little girls hand? Don't you know it will cause a misunderstanding? This kind of girl who wants to hook up with rich boys using her body......... She should be slapped to death for trying to use Yuan Feng. She is an idiot, are you one too? HDFJHFBH!"

^as you can see while the mtl isn't good it's very different to the translation at the end. The bias against the character is really strong in the translator as they changed words to make it more insulting and even added slapping the character to death (which I'm very sure is just an inserted sentence for translator???). Overall it's so messy like...

edit: I've kept reading more on the arc and I would like to add the bias gets so strong there's a scene where a cameraman was concerned at the cannonfodder's outburst but translator turns it to gleeful mocking idk it's honestly kinda ugh to me how into it translator is.

eg. MTL:

The shooting was not over yet. Moreover, every set of tables and chairs here is made of high-quality pear wood and Qingshan white porcelain. If they are kicked, they can't afford to pay for it, and the program team will not help to compensate!
Have the three families just made a donation and are going to pay for something in a blink of an eye? What about the girl when she goes home? Aren't her parents going to kill her?

translation: The shooting was not over yet. Moreover, every set of tables and chairs were of fine pear wood and pure white porcelain. The program team can't afford the expenses and won't help her cover them!

Could it be the donations that the three families had just made will be used to compensate for this?

interesting!

This girl will beaten to death by her parents when she will return to her house. BAHAHAHAHA!!!

[collapse]

story wise I wasn't huge on the plot of arc 1 but after knowing now how different the mtl is to the translation I feel really torn because I think at the heart I'm not really loving the main plot points anyway but I feel that the translator has definitely ruined it further for me personally. In that case I've put my rating as 2/5 to give the story some face but I really have to call out the translator because honestly wtf : (

also bonus example of translator sewing in their opinions to story

Spoiler

MTL: Yin Minglu didn't expect that he made a report call on both sides at the same time, and the reporter was the first to arrive at the scene.

translation: Yin Minglu called both the police officers and reporters at the same time. But he didn't expect the reporters to come first instead of the police. Sure enough police were the late creatures.

I love it!

  • First arc is the Rich Fool Boy Sent for Reformation
  • Second arc is Illegitimate Son, a Godly Game Developer
Don't remember the exact arrangement but there's the

  • Third is Naive Little Prince from the Outskirts
  • Fourth is Countryside Boy turned Big Actor
  • Fifth is Substitute Housewife fights the White Moonlight and Indecisive Boyfriend
  • Sixth is Misunderstood 'Hidden' Hero's Kind Heart
Honestly, I could say that the involvement of the ML in any of the missions is close to none. There are arcs that you'll rarely see the ML in. For example, the second arc, fourth... more>> arc, fifth arc and sixth arc either have late appearances or barely mentioned until the last few chapters. Though I agree with some of the reviews where the arcs ended a bit abruptly. I'm quite happy that there's not a lot of romance (compared to others). Barely any interaction with the system. The MC usually depends on his own, so the authenticity of the novel description, (referring to the gold medaled agent) has been confirmed. <<less

I really liked the story but every story arc's ending is so abrupt. I was like "what? That's it? What happened" Like there are seriously a lot of questions for the ending. I guess we leave it on imagination.

Overall aside from the ending, I liked how the story was told. All arcs are great. Face slappings are satisfying. MC is great. Villains are really annoying and s*upid. Recommended but hopefully the author can add something for each arcs' ending.

Okay. This novel, I love it. Although the ending is a little abrupt but it's too good to readddddd. So, I give this a five star. Actually, I just got curious so, I also MTLed this. But it's understandable.

MC occupies bodies of the clients full with resenments or unfullfilled wishes. As for the ML, he is not really in the plots since he is rarely mentioned. But don't worry. This novel is 1V1.:"3

Spoiler

Arc 1 The little fool x second rich generation

In this arc, MC is really cute. Because the original client has a mental illness which makes his brain equal to four or five year old child and a little foolish while his age is fifteen or sixteen. The original host is forced to participate in a metamorphosis show (this what the Mtl said). So, MC tries not to be OOC and revert the public opinion on the original host to a good one. MC and ML married in this arc.

Arc 2 The genius game developer x Movie Emperor

My fav arccccc. This is literally child care arc. I love the MC adoptive father and MC. MC adoptive father spoils MC soo much that even I wish to have a father like MC's dad. Btw, his daddy is the richest man in the whole fxking country. Whooo~ ML rarely appear in this arc.

Ehh...... the next arc, although I don't know how to name it. But MC is a super hero in the last arc. He goes around and saves people. It's really interesting and enjoyable to read the last arc.

I forgot the the arc before the last arc though. Sry...

[collapse]

The MC is too cute. He is smart and charming. He always analyze the situation camly and will always calculate how to deal with it. ML is just meh.. This novel is more focus on the plot but don't worry. You'll get to see some romantic and sweet moments between MC and ML. All the arcs are *chef kiss. This is really my cup of tea.

One arc is long enough to be 30 or 40 chapters. But it's not boring. It's really good. So, give it a try.

Kudos to the translators for picking up this novel. <<less

After 169 chapters. NOW I KNOW WHY EVERYONE IS ANGRY AHHHHH! I just want romance! Romance!!

After the little guy in the system told minglu about the lord upstairs love story I already have a guess why all the characters that minglu posses have the same name. Ahhh even though he is fulfilling someone's wish but every arc doesn't focus on our MC! I want to see more romance! 😭 Also, it's kind of good and funny that every arc they the ML wants to fatten the MC I mean who doesn't... more>> want to?? He has chubby cheeks ahh! <<less

I felt very disturbed at the very start of the story. As far as I read, the world view of the people in the first arc are somewhat strange. It left me so annoyed and f*cking annoyed. I'm just really so annoyed. I know if I continue read this I will see it with thick filter and will not clearly judge the story. And since I'm reading stories for fun I'm not gonna continue this. At least for now.

Edit:

And so, I'm back and planned to finish Arc 1. Here's what I think. Honestly this novel have crooked worldview. That's the reason why I dropped it when previously. I also just skip the part where there is too much crooked ideas. I also hope there will be amazing women in the future chapters and views will be a bit more towards good. There are many toxic here that may affect me so I hope there will be something that would keep me reading. <<less

  • The Novel Is So-So not so interesting, I Think This Is Shounen Ai Not Yaoi, So The Overall Rating 3.2/5.
  • The Romance Atmosphere Is so lacking.
  • Too Focus on the Mission/Face Slapping so the other details Is so much loopholes.
  • Why the system dialogue soo little, on the mission world the system where?.
  • Too much Enchance Other Character, so the conversation/dialogue between MC and ML is so little in the view of the reader.
  • The MC in The Mission World The Personality Is so different, Sometimes I think Is the MC really the same person?.

I just finished the first arc.
I must say, the stepfather is quite disturbing so I'll give you a warn about the content in this arc

Spoiler

he (stepfather) abused the original when was 12 and caused his su*cide plus he had plans to do it again, and considering he had a "relationship" with his niece who also was around ~15ish if I'm not mistaken, I think he can be classified as a peder*st

[collapse]

I'm not disturbed easily, but he really had me on the nerves, so be aware of this before you go read this.

Otherwise I would say it's good, the writing and the logics are not bad, sometimes I completely forgot the MC was not the original lol there's not much interaction with the system too, and until now I haven't feel that the MC has used any "OP" powers or something (apart from sending some photos). Also the MTL is easy to read if you're interested <<less

2.5, a very mediocre novel, some arcs were better than others. The author was inconsistent with the world building and the romance is negligible.

1st arc- reality TV

Loved the face slapping, the romance was meh but somewhat there. The MC is cute.

Spoiler

MC plays the roll of a slow, niave teenager who is thrown into a reality show by the evil (gross) stepdad and idiotic mom.

The 2 original protagonist are the gross stepdad and the rural girl. ML is the first rich kid and the 2nd rich kid is reborn and dotes on MC because he finds out stepdad is a pedo who also preyed on his sister.

[collapse]

2nd arc-switched at birth

this arc was still entertaining but started to go downhill.

Spoiler

MC plays the son of a rich man but isn't actually the son as the "mom" wanting to climb higher switched her daughter for the boy as boys are more favored. Story starts when MC is 3.

Original protagonist is the reborn girl that was switched. She is 2 dimensional greedy spoiled villians like her mom.

ML is some random celebrity that helped the original MC in the previous life, he isn't in it much and it ends right when they are finally together. They first meet when MC is 4 and ML is on a shooting location

[collapse]

3rd arc- emperor

this one was boring and mtling made my brain turn mushy. Had to force myself to finish

Spoiler

MC plays the emporers distant cousin who comes to the capital beacsue idk MTL. He is 10 when story starts- see an age difference pattern

Original protagonist is a girl from the future with a system that can help her be beautiful, but she has to get the emperor's favor.

Again not much in the way of romance, but at least ML was a bigger part of the story.

[collapse]

4th arc- white moonlight (rose) vs red rose

This arc was meh, didn't love it, too much domestic violence

Spoiler

MC is the red rose who feel in love with a man who still pines for his white moonlight, in the past life the scum man leaves the original MC at the altar and runs away with the white rose. Original MC wishes that the scum man falls deeply in love with him. The original protagonist is the white rose who is greedy for money.

ML thankfully is not the scum man but MC's boss. They get together after the scum is taken care of, again very short not descript romance.

[collapse]

5th arc-1980s

This arc was okay but not very detailed and I agree about the patriarchal family being jerks.

Spoiler

MC plays a kid from a rural area who's family gets crushed because the original protagonist hates how partial they are to the boy. She is reborn and tries to kill the MC. She is lazy small minded and typical female villians, but I also get why she was upset when she was younger. Everyone favor her cousin just because he is a boy. The author worked overtime to white wash the patriarchal family and completely villianize the girl.

The ML is a boy the MC saves. Still large age gap and their interactions aren't romantic until they are older but it's like a paragraph.

[collapse]

Last arc-super heroes meets lord of the flies.

I liked this arc a lot at first, something a bit different, but the author started adding too much to it. Also no original protagonist and not much known of original MC.

Spoiler

MC has super powers who uses it to save everyone he can which causes his grades to drop and everyone to misunderstand him. Then the whole class is stuck in some weird survival game where MC shines. He wins and gets to go to the sky island and he solves a mystery there and eventually makes peace between the surface and the sky, was really all over the place.

ML is the same age 😯 and the first in class. 1 little bit of romance in the middle than nothing except at the end.

[collapse]

The author doesn't incorporate the gold medal agent thing much and it is hinted in the middle that all the MLs are part of the same person. The story just ends though with just hints and no actual conclusion.

Im not sure why I read this all the way through, and will most likely not read again even if it is translated. If you're looking for romance don't bother but if you're looking for face slapping, this one is alright. <<less

I started reading the first translated chapter and got curious. Searched the raw and read the MTL, I finished reading all the arcs and I can say that the it was cute. Hehe.

MC's clients died but left resentment/unfullfilled wish so MC has to fullfill it. So far, I realize that MC occupies young bodies and ML is always 7 or more years older than him and it was sweet that he patiently waits and guides MC before they become official.

Not going to lie -- I was very relieved when translators Lulali et al took over from translator Prakriti Bhatta, who all but ruined the first arc by forcing into the copy her juvenile opinions, some false content, and innumerable exclamation marks. A more comprehensive critique of her poor translation ethics can be found in Hweianime's review. The arcs have no connection to each other in the early stages, so I would advise prospective readers to skip that arc entirely and start reading from Chapter 38.

It would have been fine... more>> if this were to have been all, but it isn't: the author of this story has issues. The base story cannot be considered anything special -- repetitive, incoherent at times, somewhat childish in its views, tending to wither before a climax. Add it all together and 4 stars would probably be a kind rating, with whatever flaws offset by my obvious bias for QT. But what I truly don't like is the author's persistent misogyny -- or the glorification of gaslighting and domestic violence in the Red Rose arc. The implicit racism isn't all that fun either, and I certainly wasn't expecting it to rear its ugly head highest in the last arc. Dragging in Hijikata (yes, the historical character!) and nameless hostile Japanese mobs was as tasteless as it was random. 2 stars. <<less

The premise of each arc was so good and creative! The ML basically doesn't exist and is in the background or forgotten most of the time. Some arcs have a huge age gap with the ML. Second arc MC meets ML when he is 5 years old while ML is an actor maybe around 18. Third arc MC is ~7 years old and ML is the emperor so around 16/17. Fifth arc the MC is 5 years old and ML should be 15/16. Has pedophilic undertones. Every female character is... more>> really evil or useless. This is more of a face slapping novel rather than romance. There is no love triangle and the MC is smart and decisive. The ending came out of nowhere and was only 2 sentences long after coming out of the last world. No idea what happened. 3/5 <<less

Also, in arc 1 it almost feels like a cop out in how the MC miraculously improves in his studies, where his 5 year old mental age somehow grows to low level college entry. But ok, it is possible that diligent study and love can improve the OG's capability.

I included some warnings that I remember below. It seems bad when I list them out, but there are so many problematic themes in other Cnovels that having a countable number of warnings seem ok.

some unavoidable Cnovel nationalist, sexist, and racist undertones/stereotypes. (Blanket statements of Americans don't save and spend beyond means; western food = only steak, blonds with blue eyes)

Arc 1: Some questionable thoughts of author trying to explain villain's criminal thoughts but sounds like victim blaming.

Rose arc: domestic violence, date r*pe drug use trigger warning.
Spoiler

MC retaliates against scum gong with domestic violence then explains that he deserves it. Yes, scum gong is scum, but this is the makings of an abusive relationship, where scum gong was justifying mc's violence. Retaliating is fine, but almost brainwashing the scum to think violence is acceptable behavior because it shows "love" is problematic and triggering. The mission didn't require domestic violence (but punching and giving someone a bloody nose). I guess the author wanted to use the physical pain for the th**ny rose theme.

date r*pe drug use trigger warning: no matter if the antagonist believed that the scum gong can still think and decide and he's just giving the scum an excuse/ opportunity. If he would say no when sober, then even if it's just alcohol, no means no. But according to the text, scum gong was capable of thinking and choosing. So not r*pe, but still trigger warning

[collapse]

last arc: mentions of violent deaths but nothing explicit.

The majority (not all) of the villains are women, which is fine. In a BL novel, when the majority of female characters with screen time is either antagonistic or barely memorable and almost 2D stereotypes compared with non-protagonist/ML male roles, it gives me a minor undertone of misogyny. But it's QT, so character development may be limited. And it seems like the author did try (
Spoiler

to get us to sympathize with arc 1 mom, and feel for koi arc elder cousin.)

[collapse]
, but it could just be me feeling that way. I Still like the story a lot, and it's a noticeably a lot less misogynistic than a lot of BL novels. It's more of a "aww. I wanted more likable interesting female side characters to be as fleshed out as the male ones." And "why do I feel that the female side characters could be better ?" Again, it could be just me.

TLDR: intricate, unique qt arcs that feel complete. Not blatantly misogynistic or nationalist BL Cnovel. I just wanted to mention some warnings for people that want it. Still 5/5 for me. <<less

Not bad. Good plot for the arcs, cute MC, especially on the first arc; sometimes when the ML fell in love with MC makes me uncomfortable 'cause of the MC' s age, but I like that they have cute interactions with each other and love seeing how caring the ML was.

This story was pretty okay. It's more of concentrated on fluff though some things are illogical so yeah.

One thing that was note worthy though was how the MC didn't collapse or ruin the character setting of the original setting. The original was originally a 'fool' but instead of directly changing it like a damn miracle like in other novels, he slowly chnged little by little through the years to a certain extent deemed to be within the acceptable range.

Still, the usual narcissism of the usual FL otherwise villain to be... more>> is still quite there. It's almost as if all original protagonists are just that unreasonable and braindead. Are twelve year olds or even fifteen years olds these calculating? Or am I just living in a whole other friggin dimension? The most kids at that age is talk bad and bully, but to scheme this deeply? I don't know if it's just my understanding of the MTL or the MTL being completely untrustworthy but sometimes you spend more time with the Main Girl rather than the Main Character.

Currently in the third arc and I've noticed that (in the third arc specifically) the Main Girl is highlighted. Not even in a good way. All her "evil" qualities are highlighted and there comes a certain point that my patience wears thin. Bear in mind that this is the third arc, the first and second aren't as heavily focused... more>> on the s*upidity of the main girl. The only reason I bring this up is that it takes most of the arcs to show that the main girl sucks and consistently embarrasses herself (because of the protagonist or otherwise.) Personal opinion but I'd rather see the protagonist do things to complete his mission rather than seeing the main girl be shameless in 7k words.

As said before, the ML is extremely lowkey in this. Romance is always until the last second but I find it's not a problem for me so no complaints here.

[Edit: after the third arc it does get better, this is barely romance though and the main goal of the main character is to make the owners' life (and consequently the ones the owner wants to save's life) better so the endings aren't the best in terms of closure but it's pretty much a light fluffy novel with interesting plots and backstories, I suggest reading it if you want to be entertained lightheartedly. Face-slapping (or however you call it) is very much present here no matter the plot.]

Take this review with a grain of salt since I did MTL'd this. <<less

The First Part left me with the impression of how despicable materialistic brute the huaxia society is. Those 3 are MINORS!!!!! And MC is only 12 !!!!!! It's only in 2016 huaxia gov ban children from being in reality show. Well I 'm huaxia descendant and I must say children abuse and exploitation by parents are not something rare in huaxia society, which is for many huaxia descendants outside mainland, it's a barbaric and embarassing. And people with some learning problem would never be normal, even if they appear just... more>> like normal person. Its unfair and cruel to expect 'normal' them since they would have to pay double or tripple effort to be considered normal. Most of huaxia people cannot accept this since they world view are so materialistic. Only money and pride. Humanity? What's that? So I can understand why author wrote some disturbing world view as something beautiful and normal. For this novel, I am quite satisfied. MC can eat yuanfeng's tofu without smut scene hehe. Huh? Why it's 3 stars? I mean 4 <<less

One of the better world hopping novel if not for the ending.

The story is mostly focused on MC and ML is barely mentioned in some arc. If you are looking for reading romance and eating dog food, this isn't for you. Face slapping is serving though.

Each arc is interesting and different but the ending is abrupt. I at least expect there to be an arc dedicated to the original past that has been mentioned in the story but nope. It all summary in just the last chapter so the closure... more>> isn't satisfying for me.

If you don't want that, you can pick the arc that you want to read and just read that since each arc itself is quite long. <<less

Read this for no-brainer, easy to understand plot, or to past the time.

I read this a while ago. The first arc, though the ori!male protag left me disgusted and wished for him to go to hell, is the only memorable arc for me. The MC there became a foolish cute child, and the character although messy but still played their own parts. The conclusion of the villain also nice, the half-bro and step-mom still alive and yeah they kind of accepted their losses. The Heroine is actually a little bit... more>> decent. I mean, she at least tried to compromise after being married. Sadly, everything's changed after the Heroine somehow rebirthed, and the pair of Mandarin ducks broke up. She's the greedy and arrogant Heroine who got everything in her other life and hasn't been beaten by society, that's why the current Heroine and the rebirthed Heroine is different.

After that the arcs became repetitive. The MC somehow always transmigrated to be that kind of cute person. The same greedy, arrogant, self-absorbing villain. And the same abrupt ending.

We got a little bit of what seem like their past life (the MC and ML). I don't know who's who as the mtl is not clear for me, but I think the sleeping guy in their headquarters is the ML. And their past self is cultivators. The ML, cmiiw, died after being ambushed and the MC who just got back vowed vengeance upon the world. So in order to collect the souls of his lover, he built Quick transmigration agency (?) But he lost his memory somehow.

I was hoping for the revelation in the later arcs but no! The novel end just like that with many plot holes! I read this novel after I finished reading Learning God in Hand, I Have The World. The difference between the two novels is worlds apart. Disapppointed.
