This novel was the best example for the saying: there will always be someone that exists solely for you and makes you a better person.

Xiao FengYu (aka. Yuan Bao) was such a person to He YunHan.

Being raised in a poor but loving family by her grandma and sister, FY grew up as a strong-willed, understandable, sharp, down to earth, patient, and kind young girl. She knew her s*xual orientation from a young age and lived true to herself within the circle of her friends. She had never experienced love until... more>> she was 18, but the moment she realized she was in love, she stood her ground for this love from the beginning to the end.

YH, on the other hand, was a definition of someone who was cold, detached, pessimistic, and distrustful to the entire world. She was once a bright, happy, and lovable girl, but her family was destroyed as soon as her father started his own business, and her mother gambled with her friends instead of being a good mother to her and her younger sister. The final blow that broke her completely was the death of her younger sister.

Although this novel was set up in showbiz, it surprisingly was not heavy in terms of acting, filming, and variety drama shows but focus on the management works behind the scenes between many competing companies. I think this brought a freshness to this kind of novel, at least for me having read many novels with the same settings and genre.

Despite being a young girl at only 18 year of age, FengYu's grownup personality and resolution helped YunHan become a better version of herself, one that YunHan herself was never be able to discover if she had not met this fated love.

There were also other couples in this novel and I honestly adored every single one of them. They brought a funny, witty, and refreshing atmosphere to the whole novel. The author did an awesome job in bringing in all these side characters' funny moments and drama, meshing them well with the 2 female leads, and assisting the two leads on their path of polishing their love and life. While I was reading, I felt like I had spent years with these characters and they were now my lifelong friends. <<less

At first I found this novel to be pretty good. Both leads have distinct personalities and Fengyu is especially charming to me. Then around chapter 28 it became a bit problematic for me. Basically an incident happens and fengyu becomes yunhan's living emotional crutch.

Tbh leaving an 18 yr old to look after someone who lacks the will to even eat properly probably isn't the best idea. She's still a kid, no matter how much she's used to hard situations. I don't blame either of the two leads bc of the situation but the people around them shouldn't have let this happen. Fengyu even states her sister wouldn't allow her to stay with yunhan if she knew what was going on.

Yunhan did have a therapist but apparently that isn't as good as the healing power of love soooo. It might get better after this but I don't think so.
