The novel was quite long, but I really enjoyed it. I really like the MC's personality and the plot was interesting. The ML is cute too. The first few chapters were confusing because the author didn't explain the setting properly but it gets better as it goes on.

There's a lot of face slapping from the MC which is both funny and satisfying, and she properly gets revenge for herself and her family.

It's quite comedic too, so overall a good read. I think it's definitely worth reading.

The author's translation is clean and very readable!! I like that a lot of plot has already been put forth in the first two chapters because I can't stand reading 15 chapters of exposition and backstory before we really get into the plot. She also didn't break up the chapters into smaller chapters which is a common practice for some translators, thank you!!! ... more>> First things first, "Close to Perfect" translation/writing. There are some objectively wrong sentences in the translation (I.e., "Victor bought Victor a sandwich." That type of mistake). Writing-wise, no long-winded chapters of exposition, no plain short chapters that are boring. Just good writing.

MC - She's OP. Probably a bit too OP, honestly. She has elite supernatural powers in a mostly business story.

she's super competent. She pushes the story forward. Unlike some other novels/manga, where the MC only moves in reaction to the antagonists (i.e. "You tried to embarrass in the party, so I'm going to embarrass y0u now"), she creates her own plans and sets them into motion. It's really refreshing seeing an MC move on her own accord.

She is manipulative.

Antagonists - Typical enemies in these types of stories. Kinda dumb, has some "face-slapping" weakpoints. Some feel "evil just to be evil". Some feel like actual characters. What I like about them is that they are not just one unified front. The MC has made some of her enemies turn on another through clever methods.

It's just a story of a really OP MC that face slaps very well. Easy and fun to read. <<less

Featuring super OP MC and even more super OP ML in a supernatural setting! In this world, lots of demonic/animal spirits/ghosts/vampires etc walk along with humans.

MC is an unparalleled genius when it comes to metaphysics, especially making talismans. She transmigrates into the body of a legitimate daughter being supressed by scum father and his second wife and their kids. First half of the story is fun - about MC's antics with supernatural/feng shui events + her ghost-helpers, face slapping her 'family', helping out her mom, enacting revenge etc. MC and... more>> ML are so OP that there's no tension in any fight, even with the antagonist being build up throughout the story.

After her family got their dues, the story lost direction, and events were written just for the sake of extending story. Story became more and more bland... author tried to make it spicier by adding senseless nationalism (though there's lot of nationalism propaganda through out the story), unneeded hatred on Japanese etc, but it rather made it more unbearable to read towards the end. <<less

The metaphysics section is abundant! It doesn’t have a specific focus ie feng shui, ghost expulsions, or face reading, more of a mix of everything. Another supernatural element (besides the metaphysics magic and ghost) is that there are demons. Not the literal underworld demons but animals who cultivate kinda demons.

Extra is super cute and so goooodddd! Make sure that all the extras are there if you are using a certain Chinese raw source. I almost missed out!

There is no much romance but the story is interesting enough. Nothing very deep or intense but still enjoyable. FL is quite a badass with her Taoism and her ability to control ghost. It’s quite satisfying to see retribution to her step family and their allies.

I read this novel and enjoyed it. To be honest, there are plot holes, the MC is OP, she could solved any problems at ease and without dragging.
I think the story describes too many patriotism’s acts as a good China’s citizen. Almost like promoting China is the best and powerful country. I don’t against it, just close one eye because I quite enjoy the story.

I could say the story has fantasy element with supernatural vibe.

Don’t expect too many romance because there is only a little bit in the plot, I think the romance is just additional part of this novel to make the MC’s life perfect.

Her father married to his true love after the ugly divorce with the MC’s biological mother. She will find out her reason for crossing and meet the ML with hidden identity then finally our MC’s true identity reveal later.

I dislike everyone other than the MC, ml, and the ghosts. I think it's an enjoyable guilty pleasure to some degree but the rich bit*h politics+ the concubines of her dad is really annoying to read. The plot is very weird after some chapters, I liked the beginning but then the scheme's turned heavy, I like FL she's good but her family is too much, so the novel is not my cup of tea

The premise was very interesting, we have Li Xiao, a metaphysic master specializing in creating talisman. This talisman can do a lot of supernatural stuff. She is transmigrated as a cannon fodder of a dog blood (melodramatic) novel.

I actually enjoy the story plot and the supernatural stuff didn't really bother me since it was pretty consistent throughout the story.

The problem is that the execution/writing sometimes is a bit off, coupled with translation that often misses sentences and paragraphs, as a reader we lose quite a lot of minute information. Other aspect that makes me surprised about this story is about the retribution. The faceslapping comes quick and hard, even sometimes I think it's a bit too much.

Overall it's a fun read so far, it's just the translation missed quite a lot of information. Story is a bit to melodramatic, like literally dog blood dramatic, but it's interesting.

Overall I like the story especially when the FL is decisive and not a wishy-washy person.

Reading this novel is like sitting shotgun in a race car with a very aggressively driver. It goes fom 0 to 100 in no time. A lot of things happen in a short span of time and that from the start. There is no easing in into the story. Nope, you are thrown into the story and already on the next day the FL has to go to an audition of a movie she does get to film, but which is quickly forgotten. All that aside, the plot is entertaining and doesn't get boring, much due to the fast pacing. This story focuses more on face-slapping and the supernatural rather than on romance. I'm fine with that.

Both the FL and the ML are op, I repeat for good measure, OP! The FL herself is pretty money-oriented, but generous when it comes to people she considers her own. She also is very thorough when it comes to getting back at people. If we were to consider her status in her relationship with the Ml, she would be considered the dominant one, considering that the ML is basically a blank paper and easily gets shy/red. With his hobby being sleeping and his rather quiet nature, the Ml's personality is also pretty passive and peaceful. Yet he is also very responsible and takes care of his subordinates and duties. He is a basic representation of "Whatever my wife says is right." even before they get together.

On a side note, we even got a glimpse at the Senkaku/Diaoyu Island conflict, even if the island wasn't named. I mean... a conflict over an island between China and R Country, aka Riben (日本) which is Japan? Should be that island, right?

Anyways, those who like fast paced, eventful, supernatural stories full of face-slapping with a modern setting would get their fill with this novel. <<less

This initially got good premise especially the MC (Li Xiao) being cool, independent, decisive and smart. Her face-slapping methods against villainous characters were really satisfying. The romance was just an added bonus... but felt unnecessary bc the MC dealing with her complex family alone was already interesting tho.

The first half of the novel already got good storyline and satisfying punishments were given to some characters... ML inside the illusion used baby dragon blood to resurrect his white moonlight which is white lotus Li Qianfei (MC's stepsister). Xiaolong got so mad when he got out and lashed at ML. ML was like 'huh?' 'I didn't'. MC laugh and told ML about the illusion inside the mirror. The watched it together.
