Serious problems with this story.

For people who play League of Legends, they know that reaching level 30 is not hard. You just have to keep playing so regardless of whether you are good or bad, you can get there. So for anyone who plays and are already level 30, the first match in the novel is so boring. Also, the writer obviously hasn't played before since people start jungling before reaching level 30 and even level 20 so the 9 other people are obviously just noobs who don't know how... more>> to play. Its like reading about an immortal fighting with mortals in a xianxia novel. Boring.

Next, I don't know when the novel was written/published, but quite a few of the "facts" about the game are no longer real since League of Legends has been constantly updated for the last six years. So for anyone who's reading this now and didn't play when League was released, they might not know that Graves used to be an adc (he is currently a jungler) Also, Garen is a horrible support since he has no crowd control skills and has always traditionally been a solo top laner. So people who know the game, probably think of the writer as an idiot, I mean even if the players are noobs, they should at least play the right champions right?

Finally, the MC plays the support role. In other words, in the game, he's a side character. I'm sorry but its true (I, myself, play support a lot so I know). This is true in real life too, there are very few professional support players that are popular (why? Its because the way they are supposed to play is not exciting) In the game, it is taboo for the support player to take kills from anyone else (minions and opponents) on purpose. The goal of the support is to make other characters as strong as possible. While in lane, the support should not kill minions since that would deprive the ADC from gold. In fights, the support is not supposed to kill champions since that would deprive the stronger characters from more gold. So basically the MC is not the MC in the game. Its like reading about a healer or a meat shield character that can't or won't finish off the villains. So any xianxia, xuanhuan, wuxia, fans won't like this novel. It may resonate with people who really like the strategist type characters, but this is only the case when the MC is better than everyone else. Realistically, the novel should reach the end when the MC becomes a professional League player and wins the championship. At that point, the other professional players should be just as good as, if not better than, he is at the game (he's not even the best at the other game, why should he be the best in this one?) So once he loses that advantage as an MC what makes him special?

All in all, the MC has no special power (any other op MC novel), he's not the best at the game (unlike in TKA), he doesn't play a very exciting role (any other novel on NU), so this begs the question, why should we be interested in him and his story? If I want to hear a story about an op League player, I would just watch the championship videos of Faker (the best League of Legends player of all time, 3 time (out of his 4 years) world champion) <<less

Too early to tell... here are my notes so far, it's not bad but I can only number the bad stuff as nothing special has happened yet :
1.
Spoiler

MC's rival beats him in DOTA finale and instead of celebrating he says to him to quit due to their bet (who the f*ck bets their career for no reason? and who would be such a douche? srsly can asians even write one realistic novel, maybe my fault for reading tr*sh novels only but that's how it seems)

[collapse]

2.
Spoiler

Annie is called a "sexy little lolita", other than little being redundant wtf... she is not a sexualized anime loli, she is just cute kid, not sexy in the least (you can make anime loli sexy as that often is the case but in reallity kids aren't sexy unless you're pedo, and Annie is a representation of a normal girl)

[collapse]

3. Explaining LoL rules seems redundant because I don't think anyone who doesn't like LoL will read this but it's not really a bad point

4. Mentallity of a xianxia, underestimating the MC, rich young masters, "face"

rated 5 because of those 35* douchebags who rated it 1 without even reading, really it should be 3 stars for now <<less

So I just read the story and truthfully it looks fine. The characters were introduced (a little hastily for the rest of the dorm room characters) and League of Legends explained as well as the author could (though he could have explained the lane roles better) in the beginning.

That said, I wonder why people disliked the story. It's just the beginning of a story so what makes so many people dislike it?

So far this is actually pretty good, especially if you play LoL, since you can relate easier. It is fairly entertaining so far, but then again the TL is only a few chapters in. It definitely isn't as terrible as the ratings make it seem (at least from what I have read. Don't let the LoL-hating raters fool you.

he is a support player, yes, but if you've seen the likes of Madlife, Mata, or even Edward, it can be a very vital role. LoL is 5v5 after all, and Mata... more>> didn't become the MVP in the Worlds they won by simply being inconsequential. <<less
