This story is epic, the liar game is really awesome, the MC is a master bluffer and his theatrics are extremely fun. I mean the atmosphere of the school is kinda like classroom of the elite but the MC instead of being a badass laying low is a dud that's grandstanding. Due to a cheat he can hide his lies and now he has to take on top class enemies as the number one position of the academy while he actually is just bluffing and has the lowest skills.

Its pretty... more>> fun to read, Also the part about the missing childhood friend, I guess it might lead to a few annoying harem tropes later on, but the rest of the story pretty much makes up for it!

So give it a go! Don't be discouraged before trying it out! <<less

First impression, well... okay.

Kinda dislike the illustration. Seemed to be your average teen loli-like character design.

If I had anything to describe Liar Liar, it was that this looks like to be some sort of Yu Gi-Oh & Classroom of Elite hybrid. Sorta of.

You duel with people to gain star that can be used to determine your standings as a student in the entire Academy City. There's no supernatural power in this, so most of the time it's just a game to decide which is better at being creative or bullshitting... more>> your way out the rules like hiding the fact that you're cheating to win a game. The MC isn't a genius, don't be walking on this to expect a lot of "show-off" moments like in Classroom of Elite. This novel also revolves more around duels, so I don't know if this gonna have as much as what Classroom of Elite is gonna offer to you. Like the war between classes, there is nothing of that. Or faction battle, I don't think it's gonna be as exaggerated like it's political.

It's not exactly like Classroom of Elite, cause I know that's what you're looking for in this. But if you like the whole academy battle theme that Classroom of Elite has, then you can try it out. <<less

It's shounen, expect 14 year old level conversations at best.

The story isn't bad.

The misunderstandings and bluffs are funny.

But some characters are way too annoying and unrealistic.

And some part of it is heavily influenced by modern Japanese society and others probably can't relate.

I'd say it's a depreciated version of Classroom of the Elite.

The plot isn't remotely similar, just scenario is kinda similar.

It's still a fun read.
Spoiler

I hope Yenpress would do something about the annoying parts with the annoying girl who uses third person instead of 1st person.

Spoiler

If there's something to complain, that would be the girl called Akizuki Noa. The whole thing about her is so annoying.

She's the kind that bullies the weak and fears the strong and then act like a victim.

This feels worse because she repeatedly says 'I am smart and cute'. She even tries to utilize this to defame the MC.

And the simp MC just feels sorry for her. He doesn't blame her for her actions which might've gotten the maid expelled, just because she said she was afraid of 'that person' because 'that person' is way too strong for her, which makes it okay for her to bully others..
