One day, high school student Yuki Haruto was suddenly summoned as a hero to another world — together with his whole class.

Once it was revealed that he had received neither the Gift granted to heroes nor the Hero title, the princess that summoned Haruto’s group had him removed from the group and “accompanied” out of the castle, since “someone useless would simply get in the way”.

As soon as Haruto left the town, one of the princess’s knights attempted to kill him, by the order of the princess.

The knight had stabbed Haruto, and he lost consciousness, waking up in the presence of a god. The god apologized for forgetting to grant him a gift and gave him “cheat” abilities such as the skill to create any skill he wished—

Story is as common as it can get. Comments were accurate when they described this as a rip-off of Shinka no Mi and other class-summoned stories. MC personality is okay for the most part - the usual beta male who is "weak" to females, cringe at times, complains internally but doesn't say a thing to express it, follows usual tropes but twists things a little bit, I give him that. I like that he doesn't hesitate to kill when necessary, doesn't obsess over revenge and tries to actually enjoy his... more>> adventures without forgetting his purpose. I can appreciate the coherent written delivery, but I don't know if that's the work of the author or the translators.

What really got me though is how the MC does not flat out reject the proposal of "Demon King" as his second name when he has valid arguments against it. He just keeps quiet instead of rejecting it right at the get go. I don't know yet if that title will seriously be considered; I will know in the future chapters. Still, the idea grates on me.

Edit: I can't...

Spoiler

They really chose that title... They really did... If they wanted to set him apart from everyone else, they could have chosen a different title! What do you mean to inspire fear and respect?! There are other titles! What unprecedented magical abilities?! Then use Great Sage, Magic King or some other lame title! My god, I can't...

[collapse]

It's not as bad as many isekai-harem stories out there but it's also not impressive. <<less

First of all, translation is alright but that is as far as I'll go with praising in this review.

Before reading the novel, I saw a lot of 1-stars but a few higher that made me give it a try because they said it's a fun read and I enjoy fun reads. This isn't a fun read, I wouldn't even read this when I'm high. I can even foresee the revenge part will be the most unsatisfying, lackluster thing ever.

This novel is so absurdly simple that I honestly did not know... more>> how I kept reading till chapter 13. At first, it sort of had a plot that was similar to other novels involving getting kicked out or exiled for being useless after being summoned but then it is completely thrown away. All interactions are so casual. Every character that is introduced are so unmemorable including the first female lead that has shown up. They lack personality, they lack character, they lack everything possible to make a person distinctive. Everyone is a background character including the MC.

Humor is forced, example:
Spoiler

He arrives at the royal capital with a party that he was doing an escort mission with. They see a naked man running around, bound by a rope and they're like oh ok, let's ignore that and walk away. WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS ENCOUNTER?! Absolutely nothing other than forced humor. Oh right, every member in the adventurers guild in the royal capital have strange fetishes. Still, what is the point of this?

[collapse]

Every interaction is forced. Nothing seems natural.

Now let's show you how 2D characters are.
Spoiler

MC goes on an escort mission with another party, ranked C by the way, MC is B, literally registered a day ago but because he beat up 3 B rank adventurers he gets automatically ranked up though the guild master literally changes his mind and recommends him to be A rank but needs 2 guild masters for it to happen so he gives him a recommendation letter. Literally, the day before the guild master said sorry I can only make you B rank only for this forced plot to happen. Anyways, back to the escort mission. They encounter a disaster class monster, an A-level monster, a B-level monster with like 20 minions and 20 bandits. Everybody is surprised and freaked out about it but they don't find it suspicious that there's all these dangers on the road? When he sells those monsters, the guild or guild master doesn't find that odd at all? Is it totally normal for all escort missions to fail because every road is filled with high level monsters that nobody but the MC can beat? Disaster class monsters need like 10 A ranks to beat but it's totally normal for it to be on a road.

[collapse]

This story is ridiculous and not even in an entertaining or interesting way. It's garbage, avoid this novel at all cost. I enjoy casual stories, I enjoy slice of life, I enjoy brain dead novels but this is worse than a brain dead novel. It is not a fun read. <<less

Nothing about this story is interesting. I don't mind cliche storied and OP MCs but there is nothing here that makes me want to read it. I would have really like the story if the skill creation had limits and thr MC was forced to carefully consider what to create in order to maximize his power but as it stands it's just a skill to remove any inconvenience to the MC.

I seriously don't have much to say about this one. It's basically just another very cliche isekai novel where the main character gets crazy OP from chapter one.

There isn't much happening and it's mainly a slice of life with a bit of the other genres. Also, the main character is the typical contradictory one, that says I won't (or shouldn't) do this then *Proceeds to do it*.

The main character isn't afraid to finish off his opponents and isn't unbearable, so if you're new to isekai and like game elements and... more>> slice of life, give it a go, and if by chapter 11 you're not sold, give up.

As for those who don't like game elements, it's not that prevalent and if you don't like slice of life, I really don't recommend but if you still want to try it, I suggest you give it 3-5 chapters before you decide if you'll drop it or not.

That's about it, nothing else to say, I think it's a basic cliche isekai novel and it's fine, not good or anything above, just fine.

Edit: I just read one more chapter and it's getting annoying as the author forces a lot of unnecessary things to take place. So my score will be reduced.

2 is my score for this. <<less

This novel feels like an Over the top low quality knock off of arifureta.

It sounds awful but it's alright, nothing is fleshed out like in most novels tagged as slice of life which is alittle disappointing though.

The MC isn't annoying as hell which adds an extra star to my rating.

Tl;Dr I can't say it's good, but enjoyable if you don't think to deeply

This is your generic isekai template, almost complete with all the cliches we've come to love and hate. The typical "class gets summoned to another world, gets cheat powers and is over powered right off the bat. " Okay, so that's literally it. What's left is to see how his story unfolds.

The story is okayish, the translations are good. The characters? They exist. The only thing I got beef on this is the dialogue.

A good example would be:

Spoiler

The mock battle on volume 3 chapter 15, where Haruto squares off against the third-rate idiots who hate him with every fiber of their being. The dialogue Haruto spews is god awful levels of cringe. "Your presence dimwit. Conceal yourself better." "With such weak attacks, you can forget about hitting. Oops." "From my point of view, your attacks practically appear motionless to me.". The supposed badassery from Haruto only induced unfathomable, increasing levels of cringe that would make even the average reader shudder and itch.

All in all, This is your average meal that tasted delicious on the first bite, but the waiter continued to serve the same reheated dish the moment you came back. Whether to jump to this or not is entirely up to you.

I don't know why I can't stop reading this, it's absolutely 100% just awful, yet I can't stop reading this. The MC is just handed everything once he's given his "cheat" ability.

Slight spoilers

Spoiler

The fights make no sense at all, he struggled against some opponents early on in the story, but manages to obviously edge out the wins thanks to his cheat, yet in the coming chapters, he easily has surpassed them by completely overpowering the situation that they're in, then completely manages to be OP. But THEN, it seems like the writer can't seem to decide on whether he should struggle in some fights or not, making the levels also not make sense, I can't stand how it flip flops with him seemingly struggle with a lower level opponent, only to gain some new cheat to overcome it, and then act as if it was nothing at all.

As the story starts, you find he's bullied by three dudes, and after having being summoned, being mocked by them, growing stronger, and then FINALLY fights them and defeats them. It's the most edgiest and cringiest read too. The lines he spewed are just so cringe inducing and fall so flat to me, I usually love when bullies get their comeuppance, but it was so awfully done that I could not feel satisfied at his win, nor their punishment.

MC also gets SO much handed to him at the right time, exactly when he needs it, I can't tell if the writer what makes good character writing, but I guess this is the age where isekai authors just expect you to just simply know how it works, and I should, but this is just too much.

[collapse]

Sorry if my review is bad, I just HAD to say something about it, and like I said before, here I am, just eating this story up, also having given it a 3 star rating, when it deserves a 1 in my opinion. <<less

It's isekai, and it brings with it pretty much exactly what you'd expect. The plot shares a lot of elements with Arifureta, but it is different enough to feel like a different story.

The first two volumes are pretty solid in the storytelling and in solidifying the MC's role in the story, with a decent pacing, all ending with the climax in volume 3. As a fan of isekai tr*sh I would give it 4.5 stars at this point and would personally recommend stopping reading here.

Starting in volume 4 it's pretty... more>> clear to see that the author hadn't thought that far when they started writing. The MC seems to lose track of his main goals, only being occasionally mentioned in passing when the author seemed to have remembered it. He also starts contradicting himself. At times the story suffers from having too many characters, so you end up with four paragraphs of people just repeating the same thing over and over. Gonna give this part a 3.5 since it's enjoyable enough if you just turn of your brain a bit.

However volume 5 I can't call anything but tr*sh. It really feels like the MC just went ahead and had his brains scooped out, he contributes nothing to the story until several chapters in, and then he takes his sweet time on bullsh*t while people are actively being slaughtered. The entire volume feels like it's just for the sake of getting another girl into the harem in the most cliche way possible. I had to stop reading cause I felt like the s*upidity was going to rub off on me. 1 star. <<less

I stuck with this novel for a while. At first it was decently interesting. I don't mind an overpowered protagonist if they're doing something neat. But at this point, it seems like all the challenges are gone, and we're just coasting with nothing interesting left.
