So before you start reading this you need to know that this is not a dragon isekai adventure, it's a dragon slice of life. His past life plays next to no part in anything he does and there's no ongoing struggle or epic quest. He's just a badass f*ckoff beast with no natural predators doing whatever he likes. If you go into this looking for struggle and conflict, like so many of the other reviewers seem to have done, you're going to be disappointed.

That being said - it's an interesting... more>> world, once the story gets past his youth phase you can feel things happening in the background even while they aren't being explicitly written. The MC is... not a very interesting character to be honest. He's incredibly s*upid, but not in an illogical way like a lot of LNs, more of an internally consistent low IQ sort of way... but the characters around him actually have personalities (rather than just being 2D plot impetus devices like in most light novels). There's a little bit of kingdom building thrown in (albeit very off-hands, he just leaves it all to his underlings), and his gradual progression from weakness to dragon emperor, all added up make it interesting enough for a read.

Just treat it like an interesting twist on slice of life (MC is a dragon rather than a "can't be killed cheat mode go to adventurer guild on day one and proceed to harem" guy) and you'll probably enjoy it.

I'm giving this a five just to offset all the one star reviewers who didn't understand what this story was about. Realistically it's probably a three and a half to four. Not the best, but still solid enough to be worth your time if you want to read a new kind of slice of life. <<less

I wish I had read negative reviews before I wasted my time on this novel.

Usually, I pick a series to read by searching for tags and scrolling the reviews. This time I have done the same thing, though at the top of the review section was only 4-5 star reviews. I was lazy to scroll further and assumed it's a good read. I was so wrong.

The story is a complete waste of time. The protagonist is mentally challenged earthling isekaied into the body of a dragon though the isekai element... more>> is unneeded and discarded. The plot is simple, annoying, and repetitive. Characters are boring and introduced just to get killed or make MC escape for his life. They have zero depth and often no names. Writing is terrible. Feels like reading summary logs instead of a novel, and that little immersion you have is destroyed by time-skipping.

Avoid this. <<less

At c95 the story is boredom.

MC not utilizes any skill, knowledge or plot. He just grow up and receive everything. No intellectual interc**rse, no clash of wits. Just boring expositions, what happening when he is sleeping. Everybody serving him with silver plate. There isn't any stakes, I can't root for him or any another character. There would be tremendous consequences about land terraforming and servants live their life without supervising. Everything happening in locally, and working like cogwheels. Gods are very incapable despite their domain and lore.

I hoped the story... more>> going somewhere later (hence c95,) but it's no use. I take this novel down from my reading list. Sorry, I tried really hard, but can't overlooking these flaws. <<less

I found it enjoyable so far. The character has human morals, but lacks the knowledge of his previous life. And they come into conflict with his dragon instincts. So when he acts a fool and performs things on a whim unique results ensue that give him more interesting perks or interactions. Not to mention once he became stronger his dragon instincts are so much more powerful that revenge is a huge goal for him now and he even wants to show those war-aholics how to really fight a war... Lol... more>> can't wait for more <<less

The MC is fairly fresh for a non-humanoid protag. Doesn't go around avoiding people at all costs, but doesn't whine about wanting to socialize.

He's peculiar when compared to others of his species, and that's to be expected, since he has a human soul. He's also a massive dick.

He's smart, but has his moments of s*upidity every so often.

... more>> He's ridiculously over powered when compared to those of his species, but he's not the strongest, and will still be caught it a bind.

There are lots of times where nothing makes sense
Spoiler

In the latest chapter, 84, he's all "I'll let you live", but viking dude just goes "o yey, do 3 things for meh god, ples."

Even so, I enjoy it. It's so absurdly bad to the point of being good. <<less

I like this novel. Just thought it was a bit funny when the author/writer wrote "As an Earthling, especially from the liberated Eastern Asia, "

The reason I thought it was funny is because China is a nation of heavy serveillance over its people and when it comes to the media. Their news channels contains heavy propaganda. North korea is still ruled by a military regime. There are political instability and high tensions in several asian nations.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS NOVEL.

Don't read past c28. Author did a 180, completely abandoning the previous story buildup. Again...

Interesting premise, but terrible execution IMO. Author just keeps on either deleting character and possible storylines or acting as if every character the MC meets never met him in the first place. Like the mermen, direwolfs, wolverines, adventures, etc. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed at the twist in chapter 28. Dropped. ... more>>
Spoiler

He literally abandons his dragon sister. The one he was enrages for when he found out she was ens*aved using magic. And went to kill the antagonist dragon to save his sister. He went from being in a war with elves[helping antagonist] to trying to kill the antagonist to literally flying away to go on an adventure IN ONLY 1 CHAPTER! And his sister betrayed him. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS NOVEL.

The game mechanics are half-assed. The setting is half-assed. The plot is half-assed. The characters are half-assed. Even considering that it's basically D&D fanfiction, the effort put into this is so obviously low that as a reader I feel insulted. On top of all that, the protagonist is ret*rded. I don't mean in the sense that he doesn't seem to know anything about the world, but in the sense that he seems incapable of thinking. And for some reason he needs to be some kind of super special dragon that... more>> grows faster and is stronger at his level than any other dragon.

Basically, half the story is about eating (without any food p*rn) and the other half is running away from various creatures that hear a rumor that he exists and travel for months to capture or kill him because ??? There are reasons given but they don't make sense compared to the amount of effort put into it on the other side (basically it's just greed each time though). And the protagonist always gets caught off-guard but escapes with some ability or knowledge the reader knew nothing about until that moment. And despite it happening repeatedly, he never takes precautions or even considers that it might happen again.

For the 25 chapters I've read, it's just shallow, uninteresting, and repetitive. I've never thought I'd rate 1* for a reason other than being literally impossible to read but here we are. The tags hit most of my strike zones, too, so it's a shame. <<less

There are indeed many bad points about this story. But it is still a uniquely interesting story. Many criticize about mc's personality but there are reasons for his personality being like that. At first, mc's human personality is at front because he hasn't lived long enough as a dragon to change his personality. Even later, his human rationality erased many of his instincts as a crimson dragon such as greed or carnage. He didn't even have his pride as a dragon at the beginning. Only later when he becomes strong... more>> that he starts to become arrogant because he has enough power to support his arrogance. Overtime, when his time as a dragon far surpassed his human life that a dragon's inherit nature began to surface. Thus from his personality at the start as coward with cautious nature become arrogant and somewhat indifferent about the lives of other species. Some says that the author is wrong about claiming that MC doesn't have brutality of a crimson dragon but our MC is actually really tame and laid back for a crimson dragon. The part about MC not saving his kidnipped sister, that is because MC knows from his memory inheritence that his sister will not be harmed and also the fact that he is still weak at that time. Also because if their blood connection, he can know if his sister is fine or not that he can be relieved and focus on making himself grow faster. Later when he become strong enough to save his sister, he immediately go for the rescue. After that, he saw his sister is now in cathoot with her kidnapper and he was relieved and not try to take her away anymore after he was tricked. Other than that, there are many good and bad points about this story. Fro example, MC at the start is not much different from other crimson dragon than his faster growth. But later, we get to know that MC actually has some broken abilities that even gods are afraid of. Thag does not mean his combat powers are off the charts but he can do many thing that are very difficult for even powerful gods such as the ability to easily create lives from his flesh and blood. He can even influence nature without conciously doing anything. For example, the sea god needed hundreds of years to mive the island near main lands but during the same time the island was changed from a normal island to a dangerous but very resourceful and magical one just by sleeping on it. The bad things about this novel can be blamed to the author. He do not explain much about many other characters and even many of mc's abilities. He want to write many things that he forgot or left many things with surface content. Thaf makes the characters look one-dimensional very much and the stroy chaotic. But as long as you can bear with that, this is a interesting novel. <<less

Great story, but after the novel translation was first dropped (around c62 I think) the translation and editing took a steep turn downhill. Some later chapters are nearly unreadable.

Such a shame. With a good TL amd editor this novel would be close to 5*.

Was okay, but got boring after a while.

Slow start, but it seemed good. Premise felt kinda Japanese. World of Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons references.

Then, the MC's personality was revealed to be ignorant, tyrannical, and brutal. Kinda evil.

Basically, I got bored because nothing interesting happened and there are no interesting characters.

As other low raters said, there's a whole lot of problem with plot development, things mentioned but forgotten on the next chapters and the likes. But for me I still like this novel since it's more like a slice of life story of a human turned into a dragon in another world and his adventures to become strong or as he called it "awesomeness".

So for all of those people who like fast paced action, a good scheming, battles and the usual thing that you like in the novel this one... more>> might not be for you. Since the feeling that I get from this is more of the evolution/growth of Claudius and his interaction with his subordinates and other people <<less

MC is a huge troll. He slowly becomes OP and in order to live a peaceful life, his enemies become stronger and stronger. To killing Monsters, Elves to Dragons to fighting Goddesses. I love how the MC is clever and uses his Human intellect to solve issues. I find his own unique way of standing hilarious. He's very magnanimous.

I want to rate this 5 stars but I am still not clear where this story is going. Is he making his own army and land? Or simply getting stronger? I am... more>> also not clear his relationship with his Sister. I only wish they co exist as a happy family... I also hate how he makes enemies everywhere (so far) But I guess its reasonable considering he's a rare child Dragon.

Truly one of my favorite Dragon Novels. It gives a good Japanese Chuni feeling too. I still wish I had more chapters to see where this story is going... <<less

Basically this is a worse version of nuclear dragon, I don't know which story was made first, but if ND was made first, then I must say the author did well, but otherwise, then Crimson Dragon is really bad copy paste.

At the beginning of the story the dragon is described as being stronger than other creatures, but as the story progresses, more and more new creatures are stronger than the dragon, which makes me wonder why this weak lizard can be so feared when a more vicious and stronger... more>> creature roams around.

MC's personality is really a s*upid and lazy ret*rd who is not greedy for money, also an aimless individual, for side characters well not too bad.

Actually I just like to see the growth of op creatures like MC, but as I wrote above, he is a s*upid ret*rd, and it really irritates me. <<less

If you read the first chapter to the end you'll see the protagonist remember his human name.

Advice: do a search about said name in wikipedia or something.. And you'll know how possibly peaceful the guy is.

After reading all thats have been translated I noticed that ppl were led astray by the reincarnation part

This novel is not about a reincarnated person in a dragon body; it is a story about a dragon with a human reincarnator inheritance; said inheritance makes him less likely to act like a hotsot crimson dragon and makes him more curious overall

But it is an undeniable fact that the main character is a dragon, with dragon values and not a person

That said the nivel itself is more like a journal about the... more>> daily life of such a dragon; quite similar to those documentaries you see all the time in animal planet (the novel goes as far as trying to describe the effects of the dragons in their environment)

Soo, this novel is a documentary and should be treated as such (as far as the first 62ch are concerned)

Plot wise the novel is meh (since it is a documentary; After all which documentary have a good animal driven plot) so I give it 3/5 (coz of dragons)

The lore of the world is heavily built in D&D, even borrowing its gods but the scenery itself is the original part

The races are from D&D, same with the societal order and civilization framework; which reinforce my view this is a documentary

Once that said, I would love if this novel continue to be translated coz I want to read how is the daily life of this peculiar dragon although I know this novel is forever lost in the incompletness translation hell. <<less

5 stars for me, I actually liked the MC since he is not a sis con that try to make his sister into his harem... he is just casually enjoying the world. There many flaws about the MC but the island is more interesting so I don't really care about how bad the MC is.

The POV is so satisfying for a sad*st like me, watching all kinds of creatures growing on the hell island and game like party heroes that try to tackle the MC place but got pushed back... more>> by those mob creatures even though they are strong.

Overall it's a nice slice of life novel. there no need for a end game plot. <<less
