Shen Tingshuang is a ten thousand-year-old ginseng spirit who has been transmigrated into a book after being struck by lightning, where the original owner is the villainess of the entertainment industry.

The original owner was the real daughter, but was forced out of the house by the fake daughter.

Due to lack of money, she sold the mountain that her maternal grandmother had left for her. With the money, she went down the Internet celebrity road.

In less than half a year, the money ran out, she got entangled with the male lead, harmed the female lead, and hit a dead end.

Shen Tingshuang who transmigrated was dying, penniless, and had to complete all kinds of weird tasks from the system in order to restore her spiritual veins.

After the spiritual veins recovered, Shen Tingshuang who was about to roll up her sleeves and have a big fight with the system, opened the door, and saw a group of big men squatting at the door. Seeing her, their faces were full of joy. Boss, we will help you fight! Can you give us an extra box of fruit?

This does not seem to be a following the script?

Shen Tingshuang only wanted to farm the land well, but some people reported that the vegetables and fruits she planted contained hormones.

No matter who wants to buy, she won’t sell!

That night, big bosses ABC gathered together eagerly at the bottom of her mountain.

Big Boss A: Boss, now the whole network knows that what you grow is the best.

Big Boss B: Those people no longer dare to spread rumors!

Big Boss C: So, boss, can you still sell vegetables to us?

It's okay! It was enjoyable to read. We don't get a lot of emotional depth to the characters, which is a shame.

Two big negatives: the translation site is a nightmare to read on mobile. If you touch the screen too briefly when scrolling, a dicey ad page will pop up. Sometimes two. Sometimes one and you get redirected to the app store. This also happens sometimes when clicking the link to the next page.

The second negative is a revenge by the MC that made me very uncomfortable:

Spoiler

The MC used s*xual assault as a humiliation punishment. Someone used her name and pretended to be selling her fruits. When she found out, she "pulled grievances" onto him. Then he turned around and began kissing the person near him, who asked him to stop. It was specified that no one could separate them or else the would risk being kissed also, so they just left these two people like that. Later, someone posted a video of it online.

Personally, I am deeply uncomfortable with that, and I think I will drop reading the story after this. It's a shame, because it's been enjoyable otherwise, and I know I'm very close to the ending - but the character haven't been compelling enough to outweigh something that bothers me. I know it may not bother everyone. <<less

I love the story but trying to navigate the site using a phone is hell. If you tap anywhere on the screen a new tab will open lead to different and sketchy site. It is getting really frustrating because I do love the story so far...

It has a cute premise, the story has promise and I quite like the MC, but at this stage of the story I find it really, really boring.

Every chapter is just:

  • MC grows apricots and peaches
  • MC sells apricots and peaches (and people freak out cause they taste so good)
  • Insert some conversation / event with someone.
  • MC streams (either herself eating apricots and peaches or being OP in some other way)
  • MC spends all her money buying sh*t from some infomercial streamer's (?) stream.
  • Rinse and repeat.

I enjoyed reading the story, but it's one of those novels that's a bit like junk food. Not particularly good nor stimulating to the mind, but somehow you want to continue consuming it. All the negative things that happen to the MC are resolved fairly quickly due to her powers and the powerful people around her, and the main antagonists are also cleaned up pretty easily. There's a lot of the typical social media commenting storms yadda yadda throughout the story, so if you're into CN entertainment industry-type novels, this... more>> might be for you. Just don't think too much and enjoy the show. It's a simple story with quick face-slapping. The MC has a few admirers but due to her personality, none of them really progress anywhere except at the very end of the novel where she gets together with the ML. But even then the romance is pretty bland because it doesn't seem like she has much... emotion for humans? She's a ginseng spirit after all.

TL is good and easy to understand too, the TLer did a great job! <<less

TLDR 5stars it's a real page turner and a fun read. Problem the only place you can currently read anything after chapter 42 is on a Chinese pay site that only takes Alipay and Wepay

Details as of CH42

It's a pretty good urban/modern cultivation novel, with a system and a real daughter vs fake daughter fight. There's no romance yet but it looks like it's coming. The book manages comedy, some fun face slaps (literal face slaps at that) in a way that's hard to put down.

Bottom line: A great book... more>> to binge even better if you can use the site that has the whole book <<less

Loved the novel! It's like a farming novel (without much details), slow-life kind of good read. Till now, we have a potential ML but MC herself appears to be not interested in anything but farming. Really don't know whether or not there is a romance.

Face slapping is cool but doesn't take too much space. Compared to other novels in the same genre with conflict and rectification face slap every chapter, in this one the antagonists only pop out once in a while. Gives a sorta fresh feeling.

T/L - 4/5

Novel -... more>> 5/5 <<less

the story in and of itself is cute. However at best its average. The chapters are repetitive and like stated by other reviews the romance feels shoehorned in.

i also find none of the conflicts that thrilling because the MC is so op its fixed whenever she wants it to be fixed. For example: ... more>>
Spoiler

when the fake daughter's friend pays a guy to lie about her and she just fixes it by giving him grievances? Or when the fake daughter herself was on the bus and confesses everything with just the wave of mc's hand and grievances. It's to the point it's not even face-slapping just kinda redundant and just filler for MC being adored by the masses for farming

Very light but satisfying read.

The MC is a ginseng spirit got transmigrated into a novel as a canon fodder, but she just went on to farming instead.

I enjoyed the other novel from this author so I went on to read it. It's pretty much the same story as the Metaphysical Master but shorter and simpler. There is an OP female lead, CEO male lead, a bit of showbiz and funny weibo fans, a bit of family drama, and overall a lot of fun.

The only thing I dislike is the ML,... more>> he's basically non-existent until the later half of the story, and even then, he's barely a supporting character.

I think the real ML of the story is Shao Feng - the photographer next door. He was the first person who was kind to the MC and helped her in many ways, from setting up the fruit stalls to later establishing an express center to help deliver her fruits. And he's always backing her up when she got entangled in any scandals. I wish he could at least stay as a brother figure, but I think the author is too caught up with the idea of rich and powerful male lead. A normal ordinary good guy is much better and fresher in my humble opinion.

And to make ways for the barely-there male lead, Shao Feng was also done dirty and didn't even get his own happy ending... sigh...

I guess for this story, you shouldn't expect much going in. Just a simple light story reading before bed. <<less

Not the greatest novel but definitely not bad. It’s around a 3.5 for me honestly-

Personally I like slice of life and so this suited my tastes, but honestly the MC seems to care about nothing at all which kind of takes away the tension. Literally she reads as emotionless except she wants her spirit roots, but that looses traction around the middle of the novel because she finds out she can get them by advancing humanity or whatever. Like if she does something to benefit humanity, she restores much more... more>> than the system tasks and so the system stops assigning them. It looses all the tension at that point.

Also it feels like MC doesn’t care about anyone and so the side characters all fall flat and lose meaning. The author seems to shoehorn in romance as a way to add something to the novel, but given that the MC seems to not feel a literal thing for the ml, it’s badly done. I really hated how ML confessed then MC didn’t even respond? Author did the same thing in her other novel that I read (metaphysical one that I can’t remember the name of).

Additionally, even the face slapping is sort of sub par. It’s taken care of in like two chapters with little to no mention of what happened to the step mother/sister beyond those two chapters. There’s no build up and the resolution is very hasty so idk it doesn’t feel satisfying.

I did enjoy the farming aspects to this novel though and the ‘business’ parts though the MC is so op that it becomes a little overdone. <<less

This was... cute. Very cute.

There is really no /face slapping/ as far as ive read, the MC just dealt with the s*upidities of.. the s*upidoos.. bluntly with no scheming whatsoever. (I cant even call them villains, if I did it would shame the villains out there.)

Like a literal:

... more>> s*upidoos: *scream and scheme*

MC : Ye I hate em.

She just wants to farm and finish her task.. give her a damn break.

Anyway, the ML was there, ok maybe, but not enough romance tbh. Though, I do enjoy this slice of life feeling where MC just trying to fiddle her way trough her farm and task.

Plot wise, loop holes are there, but I havent finish the stories yet so it might be explained in further chapter. There are several character that are introdced, I thought would make a stir/do something more plotwise, and just went MIA (rip) (or they might show up in further chapter who knows).

Overall an enjoyable read. I would reccomend it. <<less

I finish reading it in one day. Not much of drama and if there was a drama it gets solved first. This story is mainly about FL the MC and the ML is just there to support her. One should give it a try.

This is light story, enjoyable but it's so basic and rigid. FL is way to dense to feel anything romantic toward ML but understandable because she is ginseng spirit, not human. The stories so linear, no up and down.

I want to give it a higher rating because the writing is not bad, but... it's also very very very boring.

FL is too OP, she can do no wrong. There's no fun in seeing a perfect FL. Even the ML is very bland, except he's rarely on the scene so you can stand him.

Yeah, I like fluff and overpowered FL, but this is tooooo much.

I think this story is okay. The first few chapters was a bit boring though. Mostly it was about MC trying to finish the system's mission. Don't expect a romantic scene between MC and ML because it only happened in the last few chapters. However, it also mentioned only briefly.

The ending was super rushed and made me dissatisfied.

Spoiler
  • Till the end, there is no explanation about what the system is and what happened to it after MC completed all of her missions. Also, what will happened to MC afterwards? Did she become an immortal? Will she be able to bear a child with her condition?
  • Shao Feng's ending was so pitiful. He never did anything wrong. Although MC had a fall out with his mother, she should still take care of Shao Feng although only as a friend. No matter what, Shao Feng was her first friend and also the first people who helped her and gave her kindness. Afterwards, he also readily helped MC unconditionally. I'm also confused as to why Shao Feng's mother suddenly became hostile towards MC even after the bad rumour about her was clarified. In the beginning, she was so amiable so I really didn't see it coming. It feels like the author forced the scenario just so MC and Shao Feng didn't end up together. Although, he couldn't be together with MC, at least the author should gave him a happy ending too. Even MC's other friends who rarely mentioned got their happy ending. It's really not fair for Shao Feng.

Review: 5☆

MTL: 4.5☆ easy to read.

Really enjoyed it. Its got very simple plot. A good chill slice of life.

MC is mostly focused on doing and completing tasks. Like 70% of the novel is about the tasks to gain her spiritual veins. 10% is romance (mostly at the near end chapters). 20% for the other things.

Good, Simple Story

I like her personality. She is more OP than usual MC's though (which I liked)

The story did one of those things where the MC effectively got revenge and then did 10-15 chapters of random-ish stuff. I usually skim through those, but this one was nice.

I would rate it 5 out of 5, but the translation was kind of poor. I don't have any specific example right now. However, for a pretty simple story, every chapter had some tonal/grammar issues that stuck out while I was reading.

A 10, 000 year old ginseng is soul transmigrated into cannon fodder character in a novel. Her original host was lost at birth and found by her birth father only to be schemed against by the adopted daughter in the end.

Other than the original plot of the novel in the beginning, it really doesn't play much of role in this story. Actually, the whole novel transmigration seems a bit pointless. I suppose it's only for the sake of having enemies to create some sort of tension. However, the only tension... more>> is all created by black fans and the Weibo cyber anti-fans and the water army.

If you're familiar with Weibo, Taobao Shopping, and online broadcast shopping, it does poke fun at it to some degree.

Overall, this is a one time read if you like Slice of Life magical farming. While completing tasks given by a system to restore the FL's spiritual veins, she is forced to farm a certain quantity of fruits & veggies, sell them, get a certain of amount of people to eat her produce, and to gather subscribers on any particular social media.

The most ridiculous part is that she farms, picks literally hundreds of thousands of produce daily, becomes an internet celebrity, and is an expert at everything from carpentry to cooking. She's basically OP in all skills. As she completes her system missions, she also gains skills like talking to animals and etc. At some point she even gains a dragon squatter on her mountain. The strange thing about the dragon is that she previously knew the dragon's ancestor. Don't ask how she knew a beast in her previous world, and why this dragon descendent is now in this novel. There's a lot of illogical plot devices in this novel.

In any case, the FL is super OP and pretty emotionally stagnant. She's pretty indifferent to her fans, others, and basically everything. If she had it her way, she would just stay locked up in her own mountain and not sell any of her produce even though it's full of it. The majority of the story is about her Slice of Life farming scheduling while amazing the whole country how OP she is and how amazing her produce (that she doesn't even care about selling) is.

It's a light read and the romance doesn't really hit until near the end. If you don't mind reading about every random or side character being amazed by the OP FL, and the constant comments from Weibo verbiage, it's an easy stress free read. <<less

I enjoyed this for the most part, the cultivation and system aspects were fun to read. Fizzled out at the end though. The MC is like Liziqi (her cooking is more like EmiChuYan) she's just really strong and talented. Though she livestreamed on a simple mobile device - other "naturists" Chinese vloggers post good videos because they have good cameras. It's not fake, just well filmed.

I didn't really like the ML much, he was boring and had this really condescending attitude of stepping in front the MC and following her... more>> when she was just living her life, though it was amusing that she never payed attention to it. Mostly the romance was lacking and was unwarranted. The Second ML was actually more developed, but his mother was a disgusting lunatic that needed therapy. At least he got away from her, but he took some serious damage. <<less

Light read. 4 star.

Spoiler

MC is to dense door my taste. It was fine at the beginning but after awhile I feel that she shouldn't be that dense.

ML fall in love with MC was understandable but how did his love went from mild to max when they didn't even have much interact

The downfall of the OFL&ML was to fast one

So 4star for it being a Comedy novel and that it was interesting to read just to pass time and ending wasn't to bad
