Fu Mingyuan had become famous when he was young, with a good appearance and body. At the age of 25, he won the title of film emperor, and he once said that acting was better than dating. Until one day, he found that his younger brother, who was in junior high school, was a supporter of a male anchor named “Cyber Sweetie” who he watched every day.

The clear voice of the male anchor sounding from the phone: The winning cutie, do you want Gege to kiss you or hug you?

Completely serious · game noob · Film Emperor Fu went into the livestream room and lectured: Don’t corrupt minors

Later, a poker-faced Film Emperor Fu came to the little anchor Shen Qi’s ear and said in a deep voice: I’m an adult, you can corrupt me.

After retiring for a period of time, Angry, the former captain of M1G, who returned to the e-sports arena with a new team, won the first match. Netizens exclaimed that God A was “old but vigorous in mind and body”

Fans were busy rushing around spreading the news, and countless male and female fans were crying out to marry him.

Film Emperor Fu Mingyuan made a Weibo post: Thank you, @Angry is mine.

? ? ? ?

Netizen: What is this, did we read who made this Weibo post wrong?

Angry forwarded the post: Hello everyone, I’m Cyber Sweetie. Let me introduce @Fu Mingyuan, my boyfriend, KissKissShy.Jpg

There was juuust enough interesting plot to get me through to the end, but a lot of boring fluff that I just skimmed through, and the super-coquettishness of the ML whenever the MC was around was really irritating. The way the author wrote s*x scenes to avoid censorship was highly entertaining, though.

So I'm the translator, so of course I'm rather biased, but this is a really fun novel! You have Shen Qi, who is a shameless retired e-sports player, now livestreamer (although he doesn't stay retired for long as you can tell from the summary), and Film Emperor Fu Mingyuan who learns to relax (and be shameless) with Shen Qi. Their relationship is very sweet and full of flirting and FMY doting on SQ, and as the summary mentions, they get together relatively quickly and without too much drama, and then... more>> it's the two of them supporting each other as SQ forms his own e-sports team and deals with his rich family issues and FMY juggles being a top actor along with taking care of his little brother. Said little brother is a bit bratty, but also pretty cute as he gradually grows up (and he even gets his own side CP!)

Give this novel a try if you like dog food, flirty shameless MC's, doting ML's, fluff, and relatively no relationship drama! <<less

Boi MC is thirsty asf lol.

Their relationship is quick but on ML's part it makes sense. It's kind of hard to see the why on MC's part. Like why MC fall for ML that quick, but anyway~

MC is a coquettish talented PUBG player that got slandered and retired only to come back a year later. Did I mention how he thirsty asf for ML? Lmao. He's a little foxy minx with ML.

ML is a 50 y.o in 27 y.o body lol he's straight laced, drink goji berry tea, but very... more>> serious, always serious about MC and their relationship. He's "pure" and have really good self restraint.

Both especially MC doesn't have stellar parents lol. Despite ML working as actor it wasn't very heavy on entertainment side, just a bit. Instead it focused more on PUBG and how MC build his team.

Dog food aplenty, dog blood just a splash. It's sweet sweet sweeeeet.

I love the MC so much he is such a thirsty little sh*t hahahahaha

MC is that annoying little gremlin side character in other stories who is smart and a genius at the specific thing they're good at (that the readers can't help but adore lmao). He's a very entertaining protagonist indeed. ML is a very traditional in habits person, the kind that believes in an absolutely healthy lifestyle and being proper. But he gets influenced by the MC as their relationship progresses and loosens up alot hahas.

Side characters are also... more>> really well done. The story's focus is on MC and his journey, so it's truly a gaming novel and doesn't have much to do with the entertainment genre. <<less

Looking for an exciting e-sports novel to fever with your MC to reach the top?

Then this is not the novel to read. The e-sport parts are serious lacking. Basically MC is a god (in name) but the writer depicts the fights so boring that every random twitch stream is more exciting. No kidding, the final event for the championship was like 5 sentences? Says it all.

So if it lacks in e- sports you could come to the conclusion that the romance is the key..... but no.... it sucks. MC... more>> is somewhat written as easy going but it became lecherous and in time annoying. The whole relationship and character were 2d. To be honest, there were some fluffy parts that rose my hope. Unfortunately the writer insisted to insert "steamy" scenes that didn't have any real feeling and were basically totally cut out, jumped over, non existent or written so strange that it is hard to follow and some comparisons were even a bit disgusting. (just saying pimple)

The best part are most likely the first 20 chapters or so and from then on its a downward spirale. The introduced characters never became interesting themselves and stayed as a foil for MC.

This is a mediocre novel that has a bit of everything but no part of it is satisfying. You should read this if there is really nothing else to read. I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend it. <<less

2 min silence for TunTun's shirt.

Pro's

- the characters are well built

... more>> - nice punch lines

Con's

- dunno where that story is going.

In the summary it says that it's mostly about dating but in the novel that's not the case. The MC and ML seems to be mostly busy with their work.

It seems like both the dating part and working part it missing.

It didn't have that injecting chicken blood type, esports explanation.

But I didn't feel their “Sweet” love as well.

One more good thing about this is the author did not show any absolute evil or good. Just like human nature.

Maybe I have had too many hopes for this one that I ended being disappointed. It's a good pass time read tho <<less

Interesting in the earlier chapters then it dragged a lot and gets boring. The esports matches weren't that interesting too. Mediocre gameplay I'd say. There seemed to have a hint of a backstory with how ML liked MC but I think the author just scrapped the whole idea and summed it up as MC was "glowing" so ML just liked him.

It also annoyed me when MC says he doesn't like men but only ML. How does that work? Kind of also annoyed by ML's mom. She just invades others privacy... more>> a lot. Buying lubes and sh*t for your son and giving him p*rn videos for reference. Even peeping at them. I'd be way too embarrassed if my mom did that to me.

This happens a lot in BLs and it's funny to me now like MC's coach? Gay. Ml's brother? Gay. Very realistic yep.

To sum it up, enjoyable to read if you only want to pass time but if you want a serious esports story with exciting gameplays then it's a pass. Good translation by CG. <<less

It's a nice and cute novel. It's more romance focused, and the e-sports part isn't really heavy, mostly only being in the last 15~ chapters. As long as you know the basic rules of pubg, you'll be able to understand most of the novel, though knowing more knowledge does help you understand it easier (maps, guns, things you can do in the game).

The romance is quite cute, and I enjoyed reading it. Character personalities and side characters are nicely written. The amount of anti-fans were a bit annoying, to me,... more>> especially of how some comment layouts were confusing (or maybe it's just me). There were things I wished the author expanded on, like
Spoiler

how the ML tried to shake off his title of "his mother's son", how they fell in love with each other, the MC's "stepmom" and the ML's career as a whole.

[collapse]
Some of these were briefly mentioned so I thought it was foreshadowing and it threw me off. The setting of the ML ('s career) was confusing for me, as I never really understand the reason for making the ML an actor besides his (only very briefly mentioned) passion for acting and perhaps for the author to be able to write CP fans. It's not badly written, I'm just sour that the ML's career doesn't get more focus (I'm sorry for being salty).

Anyways, it's a nice and cute novel to spend the time with, if you enjoy a fluffy romance with some random "kyaaa!!" moments. I've been reading a lot of novels of this type recently, so it wasn't really my cup of tea (sadly). Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

This had all the elements to put it up their with my favorite novels (I've read FOG and GLORY multiple times), and to be honest, in the beginning I really thought it would be a very solid book of fluff. To some extent, especially in the beginning, it was, but there were some pretty glaring flaws that definitely put a bit of a damper on my mood.

First, plot holes/loose strings.
A big one for me was that from the first chapter, the ML clearly recognizes the MC (although he isn't... more>> certain at first) and one thing I was really looking forward to was learning the backstory of their relationship.
Spoiler

Ultimately, it's explained how the ML first saw and became a fan of Angry, but never shown how/if they met in person. It's also hard to accept this information because the author also alludes to the MC recognizing the ML's eyes from some particular memory... it feels like the author had an idea in mind for their backstory, and then just forgot about it. This also leads to some plot holes like 'if the ML only recognized the MC because he was a fan before, what about all the other members of his audience that also were big Angry fans?'

[collapse]
Another example is the ML's identity (being a famous actor) --
Spoiler

the author literally doesn't write about when the characters who know the MC (except like 1) learn that his boyfriend also happens to be Fu Mingyuan. The scenes where it seems like it should be the big reveal, the other characters are just so nonchalant that it seems the reveals actually happen behind-the-scenes.

[collapse]

Gender and mental illness. Especially the latter, it's just... very very badly done. If you care.

Gender --
Spoiler

It's pretty much said that women can't play games good.
Also, although there are technically no canonically trans characters, there is definite transphobia.

[collapse]

Mental illness --
Spoiler

The MC's mom was diagnosed with depression and committed su*cide when he was young. During the story, there is a whole thing where his dad spreads a rumor that the mom had a mental illness, and the e-sports fans and netizens are all hating on the MC for that -- which is obviously bad. However, instead of saying anything against the stigma against mental illnesses, of course, the big reveal is that actually his abusive father is the one with a mental illness. What sort of diagnosis he's received is never actually said.
It just feels pretty ignorant, really. It's clear that the author thinks 'mental illness' means that someone is weird and bad.

[collapse]

As other reviewers mentioned, there's also issues with pretty one-dimensional characters.

With all that being said, there are definitely things I liked about this novel. The MC is proactive and their relationship was very consensual -- there also aren't toxic side cps. And for the record, if only because the story pretty much stopped after the domestic esports (only the results were summarized), there aren't any big issues with the portrayal of people who aren't Chinese (which is an issue I see in a lot of esports novels). <<less

4.5 - liked it well enough but this novel feels like it can't decide between whether it's a romance novel or an esports novel and ends up falling short in both. I couldn't get really into either aspect. Somehow something was just off - because I know for a fact that it's possible to write an esports romance novel that has both good romance and extremely fun esports

having a close relative with a mental illness and also one who committed su*cide.

MC is a hilarious troll and very shameless as he pursues ML. Lots of interactions between MC and ML in almost every chapter. Also a lot of touching and moving moments.

Near the end of the novel, it mostly focused on the E-sport aspect rather than the romance, though ML was still there stanning MC. <<less

4 stars but I added an extra star for the last extra about the side couple. I don't why but I absolutely adore them.
The story is pretty cute. It does get a bit draggy in the middle or maybe it's just me not in the mood but it's worth reading.

I especially wrote this review just to criticize ML's parents. I just can't forget it.... more>>
Spoiler

Why would they have children if they don't want to look after them? If it's for a heir or just wanted to have one, wasn't ML enough? Didn't they realize they weren't cut out for parenting then? ML grew up fine doesn't mean everyone will be fine in such a situation. Even though I liked their love for each other and their support for the main and side couples, they were really negligent. Acting close once or twice a year isn't enough to make you parents. Fu Mingli feels especially neglected. When I first saw that he thought his parents didn't love him and his brother, I thought he was being naive just because they were busy but as I read I found them extremely bad. When Fu Mingyuan tells them that Mingli isn't like him and needs them, the father just says yeah yeah I'll visit him and stops the topic. Mingli doesn't feel comfortable with his parents at all. At Mingyuan's wedding when Mingli awkwardly avoided them (like he always does), they felt bad and the mother's eyes turned red. If you feel concerned, why didn't you feel so earlier? In 16 years, you never felt like you were neglecting him? I don't understand why they chose this form of parenting or the lack there of. I'm really glad that Mingli met Cen Xiao who'll be with him and take care of him for life. Maybe that's why I really loved their love story but I really hope Mingli does not have to be as sensitive as when he felt that his brother would stop loving him when they fought and had a Cold War for some time.

[collapse]

Spoiler

I also felt bad for Su Ya, she deserved better. I also hope that she'll someday wake up and find that that bastard isn't worth it, leave him and find her own happiness. I felt really sad when I saw the lines that said she knew she was finished from the time he rescued her. She didn't yearn for love in her youth but fell in love with someone who doesn't and wouldn't love her back when she got older. Everyone deserves better than that s*upid father of MC who cheated but didn't feel bad for his wife who committed su*cide rather when MC stopped seeing him as his hero and used his wife's mental illness (which she got because of him) as a method to destroy his son's career. He then developed an illness and had to repeat everything he did with his wife with others and used others' love for him. As MC said, I don't understand how someone can sleep around when his wife is pregnant and later partly disabled due to childbirth but develop a mental illness when they die. I don't want to understand too. That ** (I don't want to curse but I'm in my mind) doesn't deserve to be understood.

[Full disclosure: I started skipping around from ch 70 to ch 98 and only clicking ch titles that looked interesting]

The novel definitely has some cute moments, but overall I find this a bit boring. The actual e-sports bit had my eyes glazing over. It's not exciting at all. There is also missing logic that bugs me.

Spoiler

MC creates a team with absolutely no reserve members? Better hope no one gets sick or injured. There is a reason a team he poached from has "benchwarmers". When did Dog Di learn that SQ's bf is FM? The fact he has zero reaction was so bizarre to me.

[collapse]

I also found MC/ML's interactions to be draggy and the actions felt a bit disjointed as the author tries to slide around censorship. I've read many novels like that, but I guess because this one just had SO much of it, I can't take it. Everything is an innuendo in their dialogue and when they're together the author insists on poorly written intimate action (I hesitate to call it smut because it's just euphemistic). If the author had cut all of that out I'd give this another half star maybe.

MC is very clearly the author's darling and thus was the most interesting character. Meanwhile, I just don't enjoy the ML's personality? He feels like a rock to me who can only say "En." To be fair, he does have a personality with positives and negatives, but it's just so hard to connect with him for me. ML is not a warm character by any means, but I especially don't like how cold he is to his brother.

Spoiler

It's not his responsibility to raise his brother, but 14 is still a child. What really bugged me was how ML is jealous of his own brother receiving any type of affection from MC. It's just weird and not cute.

[collapse]

I don't know how to explain it but the main antagonists also seem so cartoonish to me.

Spoiler

The moment when FJJ squeezed YL's arm trying to hurt him but couldn't because his own hand hurt? Like why? They're e-sports players so causing intentional harm doesn't make sense. Everything abt MC's dad. IK they said he has mental instability but it still just felt like huh? Also leaves you wondering why his gf is even with him?

[collapse]

I'm sure many people will enjoy this novel so I hope my review doesn't put anyone off of it. I just personally found this very run of the mill. <<less

MC's personality is not my cup of tea tbh.
He is too bold, too agressive, too shameless and seems like he got a bit of temper esp when its comes to competition.
And he is kinda annoying, if I meet this kind of person IRL, I'm sure it'd be hard to get along with him. LOL

ML is just...
Well he express his love through action more than words but still I think he speaks too little, sometimes I cant even feel his presence.

Romance too quick paced.
Like, MC just... more>> met ML online for short time and then he just asked ML to date. Well in ML's case he already interrested in MC since long ago though

And the extra chapter about ML's little bro is a bit too forced, imo.
Spoiler

After all he used to think he is straight and have even confessed to a girl. Yet when his male best friend confessed his love to him, he just like "Oh okay, lets date". Bruh, is it that easy to fall in love ??

All in all this not bad and this just a light read that I read after reading something angst so that I dont get depressed for too long. <<less

I would rate this 5... The first novel who I think that made me Feel thrilled and expectant of the MC and ML that it's not a horror or thriller novel. It was worth it till the time they finally met. I have read few novels that love started online or have online relationship, and the MC and ML didn't go through that chaotic real life meet up like other novels.

MC (shou) is shameless and it's fun and I didn't have 2nd embarrassment or wasn't cringe. I like how the... more>> author showed his vulnerable side and the struggles he faced with his family and the eSports world. It focuses on romance, team and family conflict.

MC (gong) was an old soul due to him being independent since young and he has a little brother who was almost like his son. Since he the one who was always at his brother side and brought him up. His world change when he saw MC in his last match and then fate brought them to meet up and cross paths. He was a dignified character, who is quite that reminds me of (lan zhan 😄) he was always indulgent with MC and dotes on him. He acts prim and proper and somehow naive at somethings but that change after he met MC.

I like how strong MC is, he is shameless, knows what he wants, and unapologetic. He knows who he is, he is straightforward and knows how to depend himself. Most MC are just going to end up relying with their gongs, but MC was not like that. I love how the author showed their love story it was mature and they understand each other and doesn't let conflicts last long. They were made equals on this... They can be independent and dependent towards each other. Which I rarely see in novels most MC started strong and end up weak plus coupled a pitiful background. Although MC has pitiful past the author didn't forced so he can be pitied, but that was perfect since it matched the MC personality.

On the theme eSports, I'm not a gamer so I most get tired reading game scenarios... The game scenarios here was good but wasn't the best. But still it's a good read with right amount of angst, fluff, thrill and comedy. <<less

Sweet and fluffy. Romance oriented, MC (Shen Qi) is a retired e-sports player with a mysterious past and background, he decided to become an anchor while waiting for another chance at professional e-sports. During this period in time, he meets the ML (Fu Mingyuan) on one of his livestreams and they click~ There’s a lot of identity shenanigans here as the two both start to catch feelings with each other’s online identity while admiring each real identities LOLOL. Definitely a cute read, but not what I’m looking for rn so... more>> I decided to put it aside after waking up *cough* I have a tendency of losing interest in novels if I don’t finish it straightaway, so this is normal. This novel started good enough, but then it became very bland and generic with a few rare good moments in-between. The e-sports bits start off all right but there's a long section in the mid-way where e-sports are simply forgotten for the sake of relationships. It doesn't have a nice stable balance like FOG has.

MC/ML's relationship doesn't have enough slow burn for me. Although the lack of ridiculous misunderstandings is nice, other aspects of their relationship, such as s*xual roles and jealousy, are so enhanced that they become parody of... more>> themselves imo. I also don't appreciate the author's insistence in making almost every line between them an innuendo, especially because they can't write subtle s*x scenes as well as, say, Musuli, who knows how to navigate around censorship and still convey a high level of sensuality/sexuality.

MC is the favoured character and it shows. He's the most well-defined, with ML a close second and the rest of the cast basically cardboard pieces with names. The longer you read the longer secondary characters feel cartoonish, especially the bad guys.

This said, if you haven't read FOG yet, you might actually really enjoy this novel. It's got the tone of PUBG Romance of the Century. IF you like that, you're going to love this story. <<less
