My Whole Family Are Villain

Fourteen-year-old Su Bei almost died when she caught a high fever, got transmigrated into another world, and finally figured out a shocking truth—it turned out that her original world she was just a novel and her whole family were villains.

The woman who gave birth to them was the cannon fodder in the novel. She and Su Xiaobao were written like this in the extra chapter: One was a little bastard who tried to bully the male lead’s daughter and eventually got thrown into prison and the other one became an escort who, after having failed to seduce the male lead, was killed by an evil director. They also have a dad whom they never met and was the biggest villain in the book.

Back to her original world, the first thing Su Bei did was to take Su Xiaobao and find their father.

Su Bei: Su Xiaobao, quick, call him.

Su Xiaobao: Call him what?

Su Bei: Call him dad.

Su Xiaobao: I don’t want to, do it yourself.

Su Bei: Dad!

Looking at these two dirty children in front of him, Mr. Qin’s eyes showed disgust.

adorable children-father relationship!! And Mr. Qin is such a hot dad!! The fact that the FL is an expert hacker is a bit unrealistic though, even if she was from 4 years in the future. She grew up from a countryside. How could her skills surpass the rich city kids? And even become an expert at age 18/19 while in poverty?

5 STAR

Actually the story itself is only categorized as not bad, but I really like how the author can describe each family character in this story.

There is also an unexpected plot twist at the ending.

Spoiler

The author makes a bonus chapter where it is told that the father of FL and his brother transmigrated to a time where FL had not yet experienced transmigration (aka their real fate)

[collapse]

Where this might be due to the talisman given by FL, which was once suspected of being the reason for FL transmigration.

(Which in fact I thought that it would be a passing thing or maybe it would be a plot hole in the story)

The only dissatisfaction I have in this story is due to the unclear situation of the antagonist's wife and child. I mean, although the things that are their end have often been required, but there is still no clearer explanation of their fate until the end.

But again...

This might be understandable if you look at the author's writing style. Because instead of making storyline that have prolonged and complicated conflict, the way that author make a story is more similar to the theme of slice of life genre, which is just telling about the daily life of the family.

Not to mention that most of the characters mostly only play soy sauce which is the hallmark of the Slice of life genre.

Spoiler

Moreover there is no real ML in this story and even if there was, ML would only be his father or FL twin brother.

Because even though FL is married in the story. But in the special bonus chapter there is no depiction of ML at all. The only description is only about their family will be together.

Which is to say that the FL pair relationship can be formed only because the butterfly effect that created by FL transmigration.

Maybe I'm being too harsh with the 1 star but it left a sour taste in my mouth. I completed it so it was interesting enough, but really... ugh, the sour taste came near the end though, when I realized the ML had groomed her (sample text at the end, see if you are ok with this... but to me it's gross). Really, what's with author's thinking huge age gaps are romantic? They want a powerful ML that is already promising since the beginning but still want a FL young... more>> and full of potential. I get wanting her to transmigrate as a child though, that was part of the plot. But the romance could've been done better, it just ended up coming off as grooming. I really disliked the end and how they made them get together, she had her reasoning to get together with him but at the end it was just her accepting him because he had groomed her, maybe he didn't do it with that intention but that was the result. He pampered her for years and then she realized he had cared so much for her and gave him a chance, naw, this ain't cute. I liked the guy and I hoped maybe they could work on their love life as adults, but no, she accepted him easily because she already knew him growing up and he had been nice to her and was the best guy. She accepted him because of his actions when she was a minor.

Besides this the story isn't that good either, it's decent, I finished it, but the characters aren't remarkable, her twin is just like an extra, he doesn't take an important role and seems to have just been thrown to the side after some time, he's just there to make this story seem a bit heartwarming, but really he's just very 1D, it's normal from other characters but he was supposed to be of the main characters. Also the hacking was weird lol but it was still fun, it was 100% unrealistic and ridiculous but it's a novel, it was more like gaming lol.. If you are in the infosec area you're here for a laugh, everything was made up, truly r/itsaunixsystem material. Anyway yeah, the characters had no depth, their skills were unrealistic. I read it just to kill some time but I ended up disgusted by the grooming. Even without that this story wasn't that good, Mary Sue and her Gary Stu get together, there are some brainless villains, they get their karma and get ruined, the villains lose more braincells that make them act worse and get worse punishments, etc. I came here expecting tr*sh, but this was pedo tr*sh. Fairly entertaining but still gross, if it weren't for the end this could've been better, I didn't like how they got together.

If ya'll don't believe it take a look at this, how is this not grooming? How is everyone perfectly fine with this? Sure... she's transmigrated but that wasn't even something he knew. Don't encourage his behaviour wth, I'm grossed out by people defending this, it's not ancient china. Do ya'll really think that his past behavior towards her as a minor didn't have an impact on her decision of dating him? Of course she accepted him because of his past behavior.

Spoiler

However, recalling the past four years in her mind, Su Bei found out small clues scattered here and there. For example, Lin Shaochi always remembered her and Su Xiaobao's birthday. For four consecutive years, he had never absent from their birthday party. One year, Su Bei heard from Lin Shochi's subordinate that there was a problem with a project at M Country, and Lin Shaochi had to go to deal with it personally. Su Bei originally thought that Lin Shaochi wouldn't be able to attend their birthday party that year. But unexpectedly, he came back in time to give them the present right before the day passed.

For example, every time Su Bei wanted something, Lin Shaochi seemed to be able to send it to her very quickly, no matter what it was. Su Bei often joked: "Brother Lin has a Doraemon's pocket."

Every time Lin Shaochi 'passed by accidentally, ' he would always give Su Bei a ride home. When Su Bei went to Qin Group's office, she seemed to 'coincidentally' meet Lin Shochi very often. Also, every time Su Bei had important school activities or competitions, it seemed that Lin Shaochi had always appeared using various 'coincidental' reasons...

On their birthday, The Dream Park all over the world would have a special light show...

THIS IS TOO GOOD.

I suggest reading it instead of believing the low ratings.

I was hesitant to read this at first when I saw the reviews, however, the plot is just my cup of tea so I gave it a shot

... more>> And I don't regret it

Now I'm gonna point out the bad reviews that were stated by others and give my own opinion about it.

The whole story is about family and fluff. The romance is just an undertone.

just a warning: the MC's family (father daughter and son) are all OP meaning, they are all topnotch like... I can see no flaw in them. So for people who wants OP characters, this novel is for you.

    • Regarding the ML and MC
Spoiler

the ML and MC first met when the ML is 21 and MC is 14. Now dont get your panty or boxers in a twist lol.

The ML fell inlove with the MC's online persona (he didnt know that it was the MC) and when he knew about it (that she's a minor) he already fell HOWEVER he didnt act on it and in fact, he went to a counselor for counseling. They met again when the MC is 19 (legal) I wont say it's "grooming" since the ML clearly didnt act on it and the little bit of romance started there.

I believe that in love there's no age restrictions as long as the other isn't a minor, it's not about cheating or 3rd party,

it's not about sugar daddy or "i will wait for u to be de

d and I will have your money" kind of relationship

[collapse]

    • Regarding The Male twin and father
Spoiler

I'm not gonna say that it's a fair treatment when it comes to the Female twin and the male twin however I'm just gonna say one thing.

In the novel, ot can be clearly seen that Mr. Qin (the dad) favors Xiaobei (the twin daughter) more than Xiaobao (the twin son) BUT

It can be seen that Mr. Qin loves both so much.

I see it as "daddy's girl" mode and I found it very endearing than having a daddy's boy. I want my xiaobao to be like Me. Qin (strong and mature) so I see the treatment as okay. Though it may be good to spoil him

a little bit but it can be seen when Mr. Qin whispered something to Xiaobao during newyear when xiaobao was asleep (i teared up coz too cute)

[collapse]

Regarding the

restrictions *inside the spoiler*

Spoiler

-clothes: I understand about this generation's "girls can wear anything they want" thoughts however when I think about the year that this was published compared to now and the views are compared to western and asian countries (which are a bit conservative) I can understand a little.

another point is that, Mr. Qin is a newbie father (and a protective one at that) the whole "change your clothes thing" is a bit cute for me. It is a novel so it's not that bad and xiaobei also didn't react badly to it.

-The twins room separation and body restrictions:

This I don't understand. I guess it's kind of a culture thing? I am asian myself but I was born as a person who loves to cling especially to family members. I guess the separation is good since it's for privacy and the whole "you're a boy and she's a girl"

is kinda a bit BS for me since they are absolutely siblings so there's no harm about it or maybe my mind is too liberated. Anyway

this is a good novel so pls read it lol

[collapse]

well. So far that's what I wanna review and it's a good wholesome and fluff kind of story. It's enjoyable. <<less

A flawed story, full of many typical C-novel tropes, stereotypes and gender role irks, but with an overall style that was quite readable. If you're looking for an unashamedly lightweight, face-slapping high school story where the MCs stay composed and always come out on top, this is a pretty good time-waster.

I liked the way the main part of the story, which was set during the year when the twins were 14 and had moved to the capital to find their dad, was focused more on their relationship with their father... more>> and their personal friendships and growth rather than romance. In doing so, the author allows some other characters (such as the MC's hacking-comp friends, or her brother's class frenemy) to have some importance to the way the MCs settle in to their new life and develop (although don't expect anything deep). There is some romance near the very end, but, although foreshadowed, it feels more like a hurriedly-written epilogue provided for the readers who aren't satisfied unless the girl ends up "happily married." It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't have felt anything lacking if that part had been left out, either. (Also, it should be noted, if you're concerned about the glorification of hacking, that the hacking presented in the story is in the form of a legal and high-profile competition from which contestants have the chance to be noticed by companies and scouted for network security-related careers, which is also the direction the MC develops her skills and interests.)

Do be aware if you plan to try this, that there are some things that irked me about the story as I mentioned at the start, although these are fairly common in this type of C-novel. Primarily, I disliked a lot of the gender roles and biases that fill the story - one of my consistent objections is the way most C-novels portray beauty as a virtue (as if it's a character trait, a measure of worth and a determinant of whether a character deserves consideration and justice or scorn and condemnation) and this is fairly prominent here; another example is the MC as the female twin is often indulged and doted upon while the male twin is held to a stricter standard. In fact, the male twin's character is written to be quite interesting and likable (from my perspective as a reader), but his feelings and desires aren't given a lot of attention by the author except where they are focused on his sister MC, which leaves him more 2D than he deserved. And, of course, even though we have a highly-capable female MC, in the end all problems are ultimately solved by having a powerful male to rely on.

I think this is worth a read if you want something where the villains aren't irritatingly persistent from start to end, where the main characters are OP and get lots of happy, sweet and triumphant moments and you aren't feeling too picky about the usual C-Novel irks. There is something about the writing style that felt more moderate and sensible compared to many stories of this type that just seem to boringly plod through the same script, despite the irks. I even found myself genuinely laughing at a few unexpectly humourous throw-away lines. It was very readable and quite easy to binge.

I think you should steer clear of this if you want a story of a really good standard, with a plot and characters that break away from the usual high school rebirth/face-slapping tropes and give you something different and thoughtful. You won't find this here, what you'll get is a story that is superficially entertaining and in some aspects less inane than many, but with many familiar tropes and flaws. <<less

The start of the story is was exciting, interesting and full of potential! Unfortunately, that potential was wasted. The main villaina were cleaned up too quick. The transmigration part doesn't even have weight in the story except with just God levels skills in certain areas. Furthermore it was very vague. This also has a potential of maybe a 500 chapter novel, instead we get a time skip so big it gave me whiplash. It's still a decent read for the father - daughter - son relationship.

I have just read this from chapter 1 to 97 for the last 7 hours kinda and I must say this a lovely story.

Spoiler

The plot progression is a good pace- there are villains /face slapping moments but it’s no too angst/drawn out nor is it the focus of the story.^ ^

I love the close relationship between the twins - the FL only wants her bro to live a better like and vice versa- he is classic doting and protective

(*´꒳`*) but they are always there for each other.

the father is amazing (*≧∀≦*) - we see him go from initial slight disgust to awkward caring - to doting and fatherly figure wanting them to grow up well. The new year scene when they are asleep and the things he said, really made think ahhh so this is the best kinda father. The doting of the daughter and boy wanting her to marry and then the strict tough and comedic love with the brother is so fun to read. ƪ (˘⌣˘) ʃ

Now we are finally seeing the romance arc/part which is quite late - and after the doting and live of the father and brother I was like how can you top that but you can. The ML is initially a brother figure so had that chance of not being accepted by the girl because she’s always seen him as a bro but luckily I don’t think it will turn out that way and they’re are in the dating phases. Good on him though suppressing feeling for 4 years- the patience he has ( ̄^ ̄) ゞ

Over all this is a nicely written story designed to fill you will a pleasant warmth of familiar bonds. The relationships are realistic and it’s written in a way where it’s not too over the top nor too subtle and has the right ‘Goldilocks’ blend of everything you could ask in a story of family, doting, slice of life

the having part I personally really like, some may argue unrealistic, but it was enjoyable to read and allows many amusing scenarios and some characters to be introduced and shine, also it was a plot point leading to important interactions and such. After reading national school price is a girl this is just the kinda of thing to read if you couldn’t get enough.

The whole thing was pretty enjoyable for me, as someone who's very into this genre of time travel/rebirth/transmigration. There's no drama that actually has any lasting effects, and none of the problems are dragged out at all (which is the way I prefer it, but if you prefer more angst or long stretches of conflict, this probably isn't for you). All in all it's an easy, light, fun read.

The problem for me, however, is the current ML. Or at least, who the story seems to be setting up as the... more>> ML.

Spoiler

A 20 year old guy who's been in love with the MC since she was 14. He didn't know at first, so it was fine, and then he even went and sought help for his feelings for an underage girl, which is commendable really. But then he just? Continues to hang around her for the next four years? Doesn't even attempt to move on by going on dates or attempting to start relationships with other women, and then when she turns 18 he confesses his feelings. Honestly what was the point of having him go through therapy and tricking me into thinking he's actually a decent guy when you're just going to turn around and have him confess the minute she's of age. It feels like he didn't even really try to fix the problem, he just twiddled his thumbs and waited until he could do finally say how he felt without being regarded as a creep, even though I definitely think he is.

If someone I thought of as an older brother confessed to me and told me he's had feelings for me since I was 14, I would be very uncomfortable. It taints the entire relationship in my eyes. None of what he would've done over the years would be seen as purely friendly or platonic anymore, and I would just be plain grossed out. As of right now there's no conformation whether the MC will accept his confession or not, but for my sanity I really hope she doesn't lol.

This is actually a bit of a disappointment...

The first half is definitely a five stars in my opinion. It's cliche and but it's also fluffy, cute, fun and kinda light despite the original drama. The interaction between the twins and the pseudo competition between father and son are really the highlights of it.

But for a kinda short novel... it just became really boring at some point. Some deeper plot is added during the latter half but it kinda felt to me that the author should gave stuck with the fluff.

... the alternate ending is such a gem and you gotta read it just for that. <<less

This is honestly good!! This novel is about life story of Su Bei so DON'T EXPECT ROMANCE AT START (this has very little to no romance at all). This FOCUSES more on FAMILY INTERACTIONS. If you want MC (FL) and ML romance then you're on wrong page. Instead of rating low because it doesn't suit your taste, better not to read it if it isn't worth your cup of tea.

Story has very little lapses that can be ignored. However, I find the the last quarter to the end of story... more>> a little lacking. The ending itself is good but the building of momentum prior the ending is lacking. I like the fanwei/extra ? Their family in a parallel world. Overall, this one is good. <<less

a good read to pass time.

honestly though couldn't the author develop any of the characters other than the FL (I wouldn't even call it development) the twin brother was on the back burner, his relationship with his father almost non existent which was very disappointing.

Also I just pretend the ML doesn't exist reason in spoiler

because what kind of pedo??? A whole ass adult looking at a 14 year old that way (it doesn't matter that the FL was 4 years older mentally her body was 14) and if it couldn't get any worse he was waiting for her to turn legal like a predator ugh its so gross istg Chinese authors always love writing creepy predatory relationships.

I must say, this is such a nice and uplifting read. The story includes some common tropes, but gives them a nice twist. In other stories the MC transmigrates into a mob, villain or heroine at the beginning of the plot or to the point of condemnation of the villainess. Here, the MC has actually transmigrated to another world only to come back to her original body so she isn't another person pretending to be her. As for the timeline, it somewhat takes place relatively late in the book... more>> she has read in the other world, meaning after the book's ML and FL have had their "happy ending" with their daughter while the villainess had been cast away but before the "last boss" has been defeated.

It's refreshing that our MC is actually one of the twins which usually end up being born to other novels' ML and FL, but happen to be born to the villainess and last boss this time. Leaving the fact aside that it is my first time reading a story where the MC is a twin, the close relationship with her twin brother and the dynamic between them and their dad makes this novel such an enjoyable reading experience.

Since I am a sucker for family bonding stories, this was right up my alley. And I look forward to each new update now that I have caught up to the raws.

Very sweet story. Wholesome !! I love how the twins and Qin Dad are forming a bond and a family. Some tell the daughter- father interactions have some in*est vibes but I totally don't think that. Qin Dad is so cute and clumsy, he tries very to give the children the education he thinks the need. The son is his heir and need to be strict with him and he formed the right bond with him since both are awkward males :D

Qin dad is someone who read a lot about children education and is always worried about their health and needs. With his daughter he thinks he needs to protect her, since she is only 14 and very weak (that's what he thinks first) and only needs to grow up happy. For him she is not 14 a teen but a little child since he is worried about his children beeing addicted to internet. I ship the 3 together ❤

There are also 3 potential guys who could be the ML for the FL. It's not sure who could be the ML. Two older guys: One is her hacker buddy and team mate another one is her boss, a guy who resembles Qin dad in his manner. Both are talented and rich. The third guy is an outstanding+ rich classmate, who is always competing with her twin brother. Qin dad has his hands full with protecting his new found daughter from those wolves. In China it's normal to not have a early love till College or Highschool because they think early love will hinder students to study or get them in trouble. Him looking out in that area is normal. He is only crushing some annoying bugs without his daughter knowing it.

Spoiler

There is no mother or other woman figure and Qin dad won't get together with biological mother, from the recent chapters it looks like the Su mother is married and has a 12 year old daughter (who resembles our FL), who is a new transfer student at the same school as the twins. The mother doesn't look nice since she abondant the twins for 14 years but could be a sweet mother to another 12 year old girl and could form a new family and let her two children's to starve. And it sounds like she was really trying to reduce the ML Song guy (ML is by the way Qin dad's stepmother's son, not blood related brother).

Qin dad really deserves a woman who could love him and the twins but till now there is no one. He now only has his two babies and comes from a broken family and a Song enemy always in his back. Hope there is a sweet woman for him. Our FL is afraid of a stepmother, so don't think it will happen soon.

The BS romance plotline. Like I get that FL mental age is 20+ or so, but her physical age is 14 when the pedo ML met her.

[collapse]

It gives me the ick when authors, specifically those who write transmigration stories make their main characters de-age to like 5-10 years old and make their love interests fixed age also 5-10 years old because that's grooming if I ever saw one. And same goes to clearly physically older Love Interests falling in love with MC when they're clearly physically a child.

Spoiler

Maybe I would've liked the romance if the FL met the ML when she turned 18 or so, but no, they just had to insert the age gap trope and call it a day. I can also understand if the ML fell inlove with FL when she turned of age (still grooming tho) but this story literally emphasizes how the ML knew he was in the wrong for falling inlove with a 14 year old kid and even went to the therapist to "cure himself" but instead made him "like her more". AND blatantly flirting with her 14 year old seflf and getting salty when she wanted to keep it professional? Like I know patient confidentiality and sh*t but if I was that therapist I would've sic'd the police on him. Also If was the father I would've unalived that pe*vert.

EDIT: You know what, f*ck the therapist also. How are you allowing a pedo to go for a girl, just because they're already of age? Enabling a pe*verted, grooming pe*ophile is not the way you help people, you should've done your very best to stop than man from doing so but noooooo, he was your friend and you wanted him to be happy. F*ck you and your peod friend

[collapse]

TLDR: would've been a nice story if not for the very unnecessary romance plotline. Please don't romanticize pedophilia and grooming like this author did. Matter of fact, I hope this author doesn't have to write another romance novel because they'll just find another way to justify pedophilia and grooming. <<less

Ahhhhhhh. This whole thing hit a sweet spot, and just soothed my craving for a loving family. All criticisms aside it was really sweet family dynamics.

Indeed, MC was a little Mary Sue, but this is one of the rare instances where I don't mind it because it really is just a part of the side storyline. I really loved the father daughter dynamics between Su Bei and Qin Shao, it was the sweetest thing ever to watch it go from disgust & tolerance, to acceptance & love. The way they... more>> interacted and showed their love for each other really left me wishing my dad was half as attentive but also felt sour when I realised I am not the most attentive daughter either.

Qin Shao did emphasise on the difference between daughters and sons, which ticked people off, but did not really bother me cause most dads are like that. At least Qin Shao uses it as a reason to pamper his daughter, not all dads are so positive or loving with their bias. Su Bao doesn't really get the short stick either, you don't know if he actually appreciate such attention from Qin Shao. For anyone who is raised in an asian family will understand what I mean, please don't use western standards to judge this.

I wished I could have seen Su Bao and Qin Shao's interactions more, because they are really an awkward pair that would rather be stubborn than mushy to each other, plus neither of them took the initiative to show the love for one another so their relationship was not as close. If you think about it, Su Bao really only followed Su Bei to find Qin Shao because Su Bei insisted, and always had the idea of we can survive without him. He was as equally hostile to Qin Shao, which also made it difficult for Qin Shao to see him as his own adorable child. It makes sense that it really took a long while for him to warm up to his dad. I am still curious if Qin Shao wore that ugly underwear, but I bet he did with a sort of reluctant 'oh well I shall grant you this favour cause you are my son'.

Mama was not a necessary character in this book, she was just introduced to really put the idea in our minds, that family is who we choose. The character Su Mei and Qin Shao's mother Yang were both used to really deliver this point. I also see it as implying that a nuclear family, or the presence of a mother is not always a necessity with the presence of a good involved father which I completely agree with.

I love the twins relationship. So sweet and close but at the same time as nasty as a sibling relationship is. I miss my own brother. He is adorable and I cannot resist picking fights with him, but I don't get to talk to him often these days.

I do not approve of that Lin guy liking her when she was still young, but in his defence he was indeed talking to someone with the mental capacity of a 19 year old over text. It is easy to misunderstand, and fell in love with the idea of a young woman named Q and not a child, and he did struggle with this when he found out. I would like to believe that he stayed in love with his 'Q' rather than Su Bei.

Overall, not a master piece, but something that just made me feel happy. Plot holes aside, it made me feel like I was eating ice cream on a winter day, just happy and fluffy. Maybe I don't feel quite warm because I am writing the review early in the morning, and it is pretty cold right now. I am going to be a little biased because I love the family genre, and give a four star review! <<less

This is a pretty low stakes novel, kinda fluffy and with a Mary Sue / OP MC but like not in an annoying way. The focus is on the familial bonds but also the author puts too much focus onto the hacking competition imo, which takes away from the familial bonds being established bit.

There’s also a huge problem with the lack of input from the male twin and how his bonding is stunted with their father and how the MC doesn’t actively try to help them smooth the way. It... more>> would have been better to just have one child character because the author treats the male twin as a prop more than as a brother. Plus you see the father growing his character somewhat, which is hard to come by as everyone is kinda one dimensional but the male twin doesn’t get that chance.

I think the author had good base ideas, like let’s see things from the “villains” pov and her showing us that it’s all about perspective and that people get labelled as such by those who control the narrative and are the “winners”. The execution of the idea does not pan out.

The same goes for the final ML.
Spoiler

From the options provided, you know pretty much immediately that Lin Shaochi is the ML, he has rapport with the FL in her alt form, they are comfortable with each other, it flows easily between them and as ML does not know Q is Su Bei, he purely falls for her mind, skills, talent, words etc, not for her looks as is the case for basically every novel and all the other ML potentials in the novel. This is a nice concept to have, an essentially demis*xual ML but author again fails to execute it well, by not dealing with the age crap better. If author had to have them meet at 14 & 20, then author should have had them separate at least for a food few years. Let them continue speaking, as work means it has to happen, let them continue being friends via the phone but put distance between them and yet author blows it and makes something potentially sweet have an unpleasant feeling to it. Also I guess for an author that chose to have the vvvv character continue to act like a perv with his speech, despite knowing Su Bei is 14 and his kid brothers classmate, Lin Shaochi was definitely a million leg ups because he was never inappropriate to his unseen love interest Q or Su Bei once he knew her.

Another thing that is bothersome is the quite sexist approach to the son from the dad, the gender difference is highlighted too much and is grating. I understand these novels are written idealistically and to an extent as corrections to how oppressive some Chinese households can be towards daughters but that doesn’t mean we have to then make the parents be shitty towards to the sons.

Overall though father Qin is a good a dad and it is nice to see him and the kids gain a family and the final ML is the best choice because he values FL’s qualities not her looks. <<less

I liked this at first but I really really hated how the ML treated her towards the end, like enough to drop it! ML has adult feelings for her but treats her like an inept child and the author is trying to lead us to feel that this is cute and sweet and aww he cares about her so much. No its creepy ... more>>
Spoiler

for years he does things like get her ice cream that is pretty much all fruit and nuts with a spoonful of ice-cream because "ice cream is bad for her health". He does this behind her back and with basically any food item he considers unhealthy.

That's not taking care of her that's him showing that he thinks she's too immature to make her own choices. I don't rally care about the age gap but if you treat her like a child to that extent maybe that's a sign you shouldn't be trying to date her... His actions feel really controlling, deceptive and demeaning and she's like grateful when she finds out it feels really gross to me. Her father is also overprotective to the point that she isn't even aloud to have snacks not in moderation not ever. The way the men in this story are even trying to control what she eats really creeps me out. I can be a little understanding when its a parent though he go's to far but a male suitor/boyfriend doing it just feels so controlling and gross! <<less

Worth the high rating! First thing I think should be addressed, the grammar of the translation is a bit troublesome in the beginning (it was especially bad in the first 5 (or so) chapters) but it improved a lot over time. This was the reason I was hesitant to read this novel at first, but this time, I bit the bullet and just kept reading. It turned out: worth the read! It's pretty vanilla, you know modern-day slice of life. And I wouldn't say that the novel doesn't have any... more>> flaws, but for a short, casual read, it was very satisfying.

__________

SUMMARY: The situation with the FL is a bit tricky. Let's just say that after suffering from a bad ending in her first life, she transmigrated into another world as a sickly young lady. This novel doesn't focus on that world, however, that second world is just like a training arena for her XD to learn new skills and grow up a little more. That way, when she was sent back to her original life, when she was still 14yo, she was able to quickly change things up. Especially with information about the world through a book (which she read in the second world) and her memories of the original path of the world.

TBH, this tricky situation is not really all that important. What's important is that the FL gets a second chance at life while having foreknowledge of what's coming. As such, she's able to take her twin brother out of their horrible situation in the beginning by acknowledging their biological father -- which is what the story focuses on, you know, familial love and such.

_______

THOUGHTS: Normally, this novel is not my style. I prefer more exciting stories, and this novel is a bit simple when it comes to setting and plot. However, the characters of the novel were particularly likable, which made the story a lot more satisfying to read. Oh, I should mention, the romance aspect here is more of a subplot (which is why I never mentioned the ML in the summary.) The ML is a big brother type that would normally be cast under the supporting male character role (I don't mean this in a bad way btw, it's just true) XD so the lack of focus on the romance makes sense. Anyway, it was still pretty cute in the end.

_______

RATING: 3.9/5

OVERALL, quite good! Definitely nothing too new, but I can guarantee that it will give you a lot of feels. The author really has a way with their characters. So, even if some aspects were a bit disappointing, I still can't help but have a rather high impression of the novel. <<less
