i like the story very much I became a fan of this story because of the story line and the way people dint know that the MC is very powerfull I been searching this kind of story that the MC starts being a weak because of all I read in the other manga is the MC is powerful at the start and this story is quit exciting that I can imagine the words in the story so keep posting and I cant wait for the next chapeter 4 part 11

This is the only novel that made me cry. This is on par with boku no hero and one piece manga which also made me cry. Do not believe any ratings below 4/5. This novel is gold I am on the latest chapter and I can back that up. Like other people in the 5 star ratings say that if you can't enjoy this novel, I am sorry you can't enjoy any novel. I don't consider this a spoiler as it's literally just the first scene.

The backstory is that the main character loses his childhood friend/lover because she believed some lie and refused to communicate. Already it makes no sense why she would not hear his side of the story when they were super close. So the main girl is not a real character. It seems like just another one of those novels where the drama is driven by idiots who refuse to listen and insist on misunderstanding. Completely infuriating.

The writing is good. Some said there's too much common trope here. But imo regarding the time it's written the author's justified.

The MC aren't calm and collected but also not as bad as common Japanese spineless MC. Sometimes too much realism isn't my cup of tea lol. He's not badly written, just my taste.

I can't choose between the prospective heroines. The ex was too goodly written to set aside. And the main heroine didn't stand out

Pretty okay averaging to bad catharsis, misery p*rn, and bullying story. The way the author handle the rumor that the cause of bullying is good. But the way they handle the perpetrators, the bullies, and the teachers is pretty luckster albeit boring and lack of chatarsis. The setting in academy is also pretty weird if you think that there is a lack of racism and noble-commoner dispute in this novel and somehow they care more about some bs rumor. Things about world-building would be discussed a bit more in chapter... more>> 6-8 but it was too late honestly.

I never get the catharsis that I want because the author trying to redeem the perpetrator, the bully, and even the gf by giving backstory or a simple word that they are 'actually a good guy in the inside ' rather than actual action to gain redemption (Sorry, I need more action than a simple "sorry" especially after 2 years of bullying).

About the MC's ex. So lemme get this straight, you believe sth you see and just gave the doubt without giving the person in question a f*cking minute to even explain? What the hell is wrong with this woman? Is dirt all she got in her head? Yeah, you are right to doubt him, but really? Does she think anyone would be s*upid enough to commit crime when they are doubted like that? Even cheaters (like my ex) do better than that dammit. She also doesn't even bother to investigate... more>> when things escalate and eats everything brought to her eyes. To love someone means to trust them even if you think they may be betraying you. Only then are you qualified to hate them when they truly betray you.

So, imo, that woman just feels empty and only serves as hate-material for everyone, which isn't executed properly either.

Other than that, things are okay, even if it's only to the point where his accusations are cleared. The story and character development are quite nice, the fighting scenes are well-written. After that though, boring stuff over and over again.

In the end, 4* for the MC's redemption arc, and 3* for the arcs after that. While this may be enough to kill some time, definitely not enough to read in the long term. Things may change and I will update my review if that happens. <<less

This story is just hard to stomach. A bland protagonist with no distinguishing characteristics, who has some convenient excuse to hold back his power and be perceived as weak. I really don't understand how people like this book so much, the world building is sh*t beyond belief, all of the characters are poorly made, and there are countless other issues. The fact that a f*cking sound bomb worked on an ancient dragon itself is already bullsh*t on top of the fact that he was able to defeat it but lets ignore that because ex deus is always going to be a thing... theres issues like potions, it says things like how... more>> this bomb (that worked on a f*cking ancient dragon) is more expensive than healing potions so he couldn't get another one but for god sake a super poor student could afford cure all potions or powerful bombs with a salary he got from doing odd jobs around town. Even ignoring the bullsh*t world building and ex deus the characters themselves just make this book so unenjoyable, this genre is normally fine to read since while it has major flaws its still op protagonist fulfillment but this MC is just a whiny little b*tch... I'm not going to touch anything about his character being realistic since it doesn't matter for my point, its not enjoyable to read a book about some kid being mentally unstable... Then once we finally finally after 5 f*cking volumes get to where he confronts his sh*t then we get some bullsh*t 1 dragon 2 dragon 3 dragon storyline bullshit... Like for f*ck sakes the power building scale in this world is so f*cked up, teachers are apparently as strong as the students who can somehow fight a being like a dragon who is suppose to be super strong but theres someone even stronger than those teachers who can one shot a dragon but in reality he is weak compared to the demon beasts but MC can beat a demon beast if he tries... Its just so inconsistent and impossible to understand, "MC is as strong as an S rank, only a few people in the world can rival him when released" according to shino yet he is still super weak... Idk, I just can't take the f*cking inconsistancys and bullsh*t anymore and I still have no idea why so many people act like this is a masterwork of a novel, theres just so many f*cking flaws and issues with it that impossible not to notice unless your reading each chapter 1 month apart...
On another side note the first volumes translation was just horrible, the quality went up immensely around volume 2 but it was next to impossible to get through the first volume, the site also didn't have a "next chapter" button so you have to constantly go to novel updates to get the next one. <<less

This story frustrates me. The reason isn't because it's the same kind of fantasy novel that is about battle high school in a fantasy world or anything, although it's an overused troupe. The reason is that the story is supposed to focus on building this main character's traits and make him develop it throughout his trials. Instead we just have this bland MC, a Gary Stu who not only is overpowered, but has absolutely no flaw as a character. He is kind, his technique is perfect, has perfect situational handling... more>> skills, bla bla bla. The story gives him some sort of caveat that is called "ability suppression" which is used as a plot device to "create challenges" that helps MC to develop and grow over time. Instead, the MC still triumphs over almost every one-dimensional pieces of sh*t the novel throws at him, and doesn't overcome any weakness or shortcomings. Well at least he gets girls amirite.

The fMC has no character arc either, the only thing she develops is her f*cking obsession over the MC because she is also goddamn Mary Sue and is overpowered as f*ck.

One thing that I hate about this novel is the constant mentions of the MC's ex. Yeah I know, you lost your ex, and the novel f*cking mentions her name every goddamn chapter, but her existence is kinda pointless for the first few volumes because she is this also this soulless husk who has no charisma or a reason for us to like her. The whole purpose of her is just to hate the MC and run away from him. (Might I mention you that those chapters have absolute no relevance to the main plot?)

MC also kills this dragon that now becomes a part of him. Okay, nice power over there. Except this power of his has nothing to do with having a dragon inside of him, instead just enhances his physical abilities and makes him go berserk. Also 90% of the time MC doesn't even need this power to beat every goddamn enemy in the series aside from "bosses" and other Gary Stus/Mary Sues. Why is the measurement about this power of his so unclear? How are we supposed to determine how overpowered it is? And why is it that it took him one or two chapters to kill this dragon, and then later he can't beat it in his dream anymore? Does being inside him somehow makes the dragon even more of an overpowered entity? Why?

It's a story that follows every formula of a classic JP fantasy, with this dumb drama that makes it even worse than it already is. <<less

It's been 4 volumes and the most I've gotten is that his teacher was betrayed and ran away then died after all of this, he made a friend, his other friend stole his girlfriend, and he is somehow attractive to the female lead.

After he fought his teacher and she died, you would think he would have some confidence but he ends up going self destructive after his friend revealed he stole his girlfriend away. How does the latter outweigh the importance of the former at all.

I understand being angry and them being immature teenagers about love but a single conversation where they sat down and talked about this would have solved a lot. Weird that a seinen tagged novel has this in it. Felt more like a shoujo thing then anything.

This character is actually pathetic. Which is fine if that is your cup of tea.

This has to be one of the worst novels out of the 300-400 I have read.

1. Contradictions.
It is stated that he doesn't realize how strong he is because he thinks his Master in the normal level of ability but then states he knows she is one of the strongest people in the world. There is more such examples aswell.

2. Bad imitation.
It feels like the author is trying to use more of a Chinese vibe in terms of the abilities used in the world but just comes off as a shitty imitation. Also what the hell is with the MC sheathing his sword after one swing, yeah it can look good in an anime but to do it all the time when the move isn't even impressive just sucks.

3. Even worse Main Character.
I think the author is trying to make the Main Character seem not dense (Not referring to romance) by having him admit he is running away from f*cking everything/reality. But just because the MC is aware doesn't change that fact. I don't want to read a poor example of trying to force character development and sure I probably haven't read far enough to see that pay off but it is like sitting in a car feeling sick all day just to reach a shitty version of Disney World. The journey is sh*t and so is the destination. MC is just a pathetic whiny loser and I don't mean a loser in terms of how he is portrayed by the other characters but from the perspective of the reader.
