a lot of misunderstandings here... and there are quite sad or heartbreaking events... the MC is reincarnated into such a sorry circumstance and got harsh treatment from his father, without him knowing. the MC is quite pessimistic with his life... the people who know him later become protective of him, especially his servant and maid. the plot is kinda slow. too bad, the series is discontinued. I hope the author comes back to write the continuation of this.

I translated this for the fluff and cute scenes. My review might be biased, but I don't regret it even if some are saying that the author's dropped it because it's tr*sh. As a novel under the Slice of Life category, I think it's really good.

Please don't expect an war-freak/killing machine with wikipedia-level intelligence out of a normal, bed-ridden-and-underwent-painful-operations-and-untested-drugs, sick teenager from the modern society who was raised by his parents with morals and didn't even finish second year high school. If this said person reincarnated into a child trapped... more>> in a small room with people who only see him as a "target", then I get why he did the things he did.

His actions as a baby may be deemed illogical by some people, but he was never familiar with babies and the right reactions for their level. When do they start to talk/walk? When do they stop peeing their sheets? A teenage boy won't automatically know these things just because he had a little brother who's actually close to him in age. That would mean he was also a kid when his brother was a kid.

There are a lot of things I won't go into, but I hope you give this a chance and view it as a "heartwarming, fluffy, slice-of-life adventure in a fantasy world". It's not about a quest for world domination.

This story might not be the best, but I think it's not worth one-star at least. <<less

You can't help but love this story. An endearing story, that brings out ones protective instincts for a child that nobody can understand. The world sees him as emotionless ice prince with talent only meant for kings, but the reality is he's insecure a child with a vibrant curiosity that makes his inner world a funny contrast to the outer world.

I would recommend this to women looking to see if a man would make a good father.... if they don't find this good consider the next one as a... more>> better choice. Seriously, if they can't read between lines or enjoy this treasure for what it is the.... save yourself money on your divorce. ;) <<less

Third Prince Elmer is just an unpolished gem that the author just decided to drop too early. It really deserves the five star rating I gave it. It had a great story with lots of foreshadowing, as well as a clever way to show how to show what the MC appears like to others with P.O.V. Changes. This was personally my favorite part. Seeing how evil or scheming the MC appeared to others, and then seeing how innocent his intentions really were is what really made me thoroughly enjoy this.... more>> The misunderstandings others had sometimes pissed me off, but I quickly forgave them with all the quirky moments the MC had. I'm extremely disappointed that the author dropped this. It had so much potential to turn into a novel that would be worth donating to. With all the foreshadowing occurring in this, I was looking forward to it, but sadly, the author didn't see enough response in the beginning and dropped it. Q.Q <<less

Unfortunately, the story was discontinued by the author, and just as it was getting better. The misunderstanding are pretty funny, but the MC never grasped common sense. Which, it did get annoying at times. The potential of the story was stopped too early, but I will still recommend this incomplete series.

Ah this novel... great potential but wasted as it's Discontinued.. We a get a MC who is a reincarnated Japanese person.. who can use ice magic.. and thinks its only good for making a coffee shop.. ugh... Super Dense, and no EQ and not even a high IQ per say.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone as it's been discontinued and not worth a read atm.

Tl;dr: just bad. The author seems to read a lot of light novels and certainly uses typical scenes to drive the plot along, but there's no/little writing ability to make it look like more than a hack job done by a procrastinating student.
-------------------
Quite frankly, it's bad. The story itself isn't terrible. It's unremarkable and indistinguishable from tons if other reincarnation LN's but it isn't a bad concept at all- which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The problem lies with the writing. It's awful. The author idea and reuses a bunch of template scenes and throws in random misunderstandings, but it's not done in a unique or interesting way at all. Even worse, the way the author sets up the scenes is downright painful. It's like watching one of the Final Destination movies; a long string of coincidences has to happen just to show some other misunderstanding. Either that, or the MC literally has to avoid showing even the bare minimum of common sense to end up in the situations he does.
Example 1:
Spoiler

when noble boy Carl tries to threaten MC and the MC just so happens to have his ears plugged by water that was just spilled on his head. Ignoring the fact that he didn't try to clear his ears before engaging in conversation, the MC just so happens to hear select words that cause him to draw the wrong conclusion.

[collapse]

I could forgive all of that if the story was at least readable but it was god awful. The point if view would suddenly change multiple times in a chapter. There was no pacing so scenes often either blended together or were skipped over altogether. I often had to reread sections of the first 4 volumes because I just couldn't understand what was going on. The 5th got much better in that regard, but still pretty bad.

-Some say that this is tr*sh but I disagree, I like it. I give it 4 stars because of missing words in Translation or else it would have 5 stars in my opinion. -It has humor, intellect, and the characters do have a personality that seems to leap from the page when you read (if that makes sense).

-Although the Main Character (MC) is a prince it doesn't get too caught up in talking about political Kingdom stuff (in my opinion) which is nice 'cause that would've been a downer.

The story: A modern-age guy is reborn as a prince in the magical world. Everybody thinks that he is a ret*rd - and they are right! MC is the most ret*rded reincarnator in any story I have read. He tries to tremember the time when babies starts moving around, and when he does not know, he decides to lay still and stare at the ceiling - for 6 years! At the one point he gets up when he is alone, and decides to explore a bit. He walks at the... more>> door, notices it's locked, and then it's back to the bed. The one time was enought. The ceiling is calling him! He sees an powerful mage and soldiers being defeated by monster. He one-shots it while being 6 years old. His conclusion - my magic must be very weak! No shit, sherlock. What a brilliant deduction. <<less

It's excellent story that actually shows true character growth that warms your heart as you find your self connecting with the social awkward yet adorable ice prince. A well written story that only the foolish would deny.

I immediately fell in love with this story. You can tell the Author clearly put a lot of thought into this. Read this, you'll thank me later.

I find it hilarious misunderstandings which is simply genius. All he wants to do is wash dishes... and open up a cafe which makes one really laugh.

The translations and writing is good too.

... more>> Romance: The Heroine character development is too good! Her arc was incredibly romantic. I love how she's the only who realizes the MC has no common-sense and scolds him for it!

The MC: He gives a impression of people of being a ethereal or powerful being whose a monster. But in truth he's not thinking anything at all and it's people own misunderstandings.

Honestly I don't know if the MC is OP or not. He stopped training a long time ago or it just happens in the background but we just don't hear about it. All we know it's that it's like 'Wang Ling JingKe'

This has ended with a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of more things needed. Yes, it does have typical tropes but it's all well executed which many have failed to do.

I strongly recommend "The Man Picked up by the Gods" it's very similar to this however we might never know how this Novel was supposed to go. I miss it very much and it only leaves the Reader with regret. Who knows, it might had been picked up in Japan and we don't even know it? I'd certainly love to read more of the Author works... <<less

Spoiler

The story starts on a tragic note, death at a young age due to illness and abandoned as a prince when he is reincarnated. The whole first half of the story is a him living in a state of isolation in the castle while he is training his magic. Which is done in a quite interesting and receptive way, as the 'doll prince' who has no emotions. The character of the prince himself is quite interesting and deceptive of his outward appearance with this kind of naive curiously and energy.

However, the second half of the story goes down hill. Full of plot wholes in a span of a few chapters the character and setting are thrown away completely for the generic Japanese protag -kun, who is super dense and naive with lackluster situational comedy thrown in. It's like the author instead of going from A->B decided to go from A->Z with no clear direction of the story, which is understandable why this story was discontinued.

One of the worst novel I had read. I can completely understand why the author stopped writing it. The plot has more holes than a bee hive. There are no humans or characters in this story, there are only brain damage robots, that have minimal intelligence and only one personality trait. I could go on an on but too sum it up: this story is crap! Go read something else.

I like the story, but if your not making notes on the side or reading the entire thing at once its hard to keep up. I'm waiting for issues that appeared in the beginning to make an appearance and be resolved but theres nothing like that. I like the concept. I just dislike the delivery. El is very oblivious, which can be as frustrating as it is funny.
Spoiler

Everyone is originally convinced that he's some sort of doll, rather than a human being, and at some point his retainer, Matthias, realized that El might have been aware since infancy. BUT NOTHING HAPPENS! Nothing at all, no one ever questions how smart El is, why he was so emotionless, or how he can use ice magic.

It had some potential but somewhere along the way it went completely off track. I think it was around the time Mathias got injured, but yeah... it started out really well then it seemed like the author decided "hey! I'll just make the MC the usual naive and ignorant in a way that's supposed to be funny but isn't really funny at all". The only way to enjoy this novel is to shut your brain off completely and even that is a stretch. The MC's obliviousness quickly becomes a joke... more>> that's been repeated too many times. I totally understand why the author dropped it. <<less

The story has a lot of potential but was dropped by the author so I only give 4 star.

The story got me hook up and finish reading all translated chapter in one go though I know it was already drop. It has too many foreshadowing and the only foreshadow that I feel should be dropped is the Dense love romance common to Jap Novels and should not drop the whole novel. Most positive review was already said by other reviews. Yeah its 2018 and just give my review today, though... more>> already read this maybe last year or last 2016 but still returning to the site and hope the author have the change of heart to continue this unpolished gem.

Wish this comment reach the author. Hehe <<less
