Legend Of The God Of Light

Description

Huh, reincarnate as a God and build a kingdom? That’s great!! Fighting with other Gods? No problem just give me some cheat powers……….. what. Everything I have is the power to emit light? Isn’t this too miserable?

The story will keep going age by age from the stone age to the modern era. Therefore, there will be some time-skip between each era.

This novel is inspired by a well-known game Civilizati** V.

The story is nice and a bit funny. As for kingdom building, it gives quite details. The MC is just a typical back-row high schooler, not an engineer or godsend genius like other novels. The power granted by God is not really OP either. I think this novel is worth reading.

I expected a story about an average guy trying his best to play God and help build civilization.

What I got was a brain-dead guy that keep making jokes (that aren't funny) and the only time he does teach the humans something to advance their civilization is just to get him something, for example:

Humans live in cave as caveman, so he have them build houses because he doesn't like caves, then he have them bring fruits because he got tired from fish and meat and after that guess what? He had... more>> them get rice...

You might say it's okay but the guy is really dumb as f*, why you ask?

For example when he wanted rice what did he do? He plucked the entire plant, told them to eat it, then realized that he need to take the seed out (the actual rice) then had them eat that, then realized he had to cook that. Feel what I'm saying?

It might have been possibly a joke by the author but every single time he want something he have do that. He needed logs for the house so he told them to get wood, they get sticks so he says bigger, they get bigger sticks so he finally say logs, then realizes axes don't exist and after punching a tree like an idiot have them search for sharp stone to make an axe.

I really expected a serious guy who will develop civilization and beat other guys even though he is just a normal guy. That was what the synopsis said after all.

Instead you get a guy that has zero common sense, speaks bullsh*t every time and the ones who advances the plot are his followers who turn his bullsh*t into holy words.

I saw the comedy tag but if you just read a few chapters you will realize it's not comedy but just plain dialogues and monologues with no common-sense, just random blabber.

This might be me nagging but if you read so far, thank you I guess.

TL;DR: Dumb guy with zero common sense who only teach his civilization so they make stuff he wants. Plot only advances because side characters take his bullsh*t and run their imagination wild (like in Overlord, but way more repetitive and less smartly done)

2/5 sorry if the review was harsh. <<less

Did read it but in Thai. The novel is great but the translation is a bit shitty. The major problem with the translation is that Thai novels usually include jokes or puns which are very hard to translate into English just like the wood thing in another comment. In Thai, we use the word ไม้ or wood to call all sizes of timber from a tweak to the log just a single word.
