I thought with sweet tittle it's all fluff (family fluff), but nooo there's angst (no joke, it hurt but then author give healing candy fluff so it's okay), and self growth too! (And smut /insert lenny face here/) I especially likes the Extras with Q & A session, it's really unique. Their romance progress is very fast to me, but after all both of them want a warm family, since the chance are there why wait? Warm interaction between MC and ML child (bubu?) And Warm interaction between MC, ML,... more>> and bubu. I actually don't like MC mentality at first, but after knowing his story, I can't feel annoyed anymore. (I am ashamed to say my first impression of MC was like ML in the beginning : (... well almost.) but yeah, self growth, not only MC but ML too. Note: daddy kink that caught me off guard lol.

The story is not too complicated, but it made you satisfied.

Ps: you know other things I like? The food description because damn author that made me hungry. Especially the crab mom, it's been forever since I eat crabs. <<less

Rating: 4/5- There are so many things to love about this novel. It really is beautifully written but in the same breath- super unrealistic. However, because I read it for fictional pleasure I did tremendously enjoy it.

I personally related to Song Ran on many levels, having experienced similar things growing up and I did enjoy how well his character was written to portray so many of the insecurities and desire to give love because that is definitely in line with that type of upbringing.

However, even though there's so much to... more>> love about this book, the one or two points that aren't so likeable are definitely the most grating.

The whole triggering a psychological disorder without the assistance of professionals is seriously misleading and it was quite dampening knowing that the author used this to perhaps end the story more quickly instead of furthering her character's growth by using professional help.

The message that your loved ones can cure your mental illness is NOT true. If it was, we wouldn't have so many damaged and depressed adults who are married or have kids or don't.

I also really disliked the dad kink in this specific novel. And yes some may disagree with me but people who have been abandoned by a parent will have an inexplicable desire to look for parental love in their S/Os on most occasions but the author made it feel uncomfortable for me because I have the same experience and side effect and it took away the hurt and deficient feeling by making it a type of kink. Not cool author. Not cool.

Overall I did love the story and stayed up to read it until the early hours of the morning. But just remember folks don't trust strangers with your kids, especially when you're in another continent and no you cannot fall deeply in love with a person over the phone. That's called infatuation and not love.

But hey, the fiction is super enjoyable so please do read this for BuBu and Song Ran's interactions. That was my main reason for loving this so much! <<less

I think the novel is an okay read but I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. One of the main reasons was that I felt disconnected from the MC--therefore, there were many times that I felt disinterested in the story.

The second reason was the romance. It wasn't as well put together and felt clumpy; like the author was forcing the MC and ML together.

The interactions the MC has with Bubu (the ML's son) are cute and heartwarming, but that's just one of the very few... more>> highlights of the novel.

But although I did not like this novel, it's not terrible. So, if you like BL novels with 'Slice of Life' and 'Childcare', you may want to read it--especially since the novel is completely translated. <<less

Absolutely amazing!! The development of the story was done so well, especially the transitions between mc's trauma/conflicts and how MC and ML work their way through it. Honestly, this novel is one of the few realistic bls in a modern setting. I dont know it's just really good. Go read it already ^ ^

The MC is so precious! What I love about this novel is how the MC and ML argued about how to raise the kid at some point and it was such a heated argument, it touched a lot of points and I think this is a really unique aspect in novels.

I just -1 star this because it was really really good for like up to chapter 15/20 but then the novel took a sudden romantic turn from being a slow burn to a quick one - Like wait... what... they... more>> already got together??! That kind of feeling. There were some vague explanation about it but imagine! They just met for like 5-10 days and the MC didn't even know how this guy looked, his other information and all they did was talk through the phone. I get that there were circumstances that made them feel closer but I just find that romantic development so abrupt. I wish there were more chapters before they got together because I think the MC deserves more assurance and to also confirm that MC isn't just attached to the ML because he's looking for his dad's shadow or something
Spoiler

tho I think they do dwell on that when I MTLed cause MC called ML "dad" in bed

Okay first note: I MTLed this before and am just now reviewing.

So actually, interesting story! So I'm not completely sure, but I am sure at least 80% that I was the one who recommended this to be translated by MTL Novels lol~

In any case I absolutely love this cutesy novel, full of fluff and sometimes angst. You can obviously see the character development in both of the main characters! I find this novel especially heartwarming and it's also pretty short (kinda too shirt for my liking lol xD) so I... more>> would recommend it for sure!

*Sigh* I truly have to reread it when it's completely translated. There's a difference between proper TL and MTL after all~~♡

Go read it! <<less

➺ 3/5 🌟

Most of the time, I'm more of a slow burn romance girly, but sometimes, insta love would also do for me, especially when it's done right. Unfortunately, this is only a decent one, nothing remarkable.

I didn't actually realize that the whole main plot happened in a span of a little more than 2 weeks until I quickly came back again at the start after reading. It felt like everything happened for months the way they're deeply in love. I think feeling that way as a reader is both... more>> a good thing and a bad thing. A good thing because it felt like I've spent time with them for a long time and I can feel my attachment with the characters, but a bad thing because when I think about the things that happened in just 2 weeks, it's actually quite rushed to consider everything seriously.

Honestly, the interaction with the adorable little darling bubu and the whole childcare theme might be my most favorite part of this. The romance is not really bad, it just happened really quickly that it put me off, though the banter between the MC and the ML is cute and it's fun to see the ML teasing the MC. I also love the author and the translator's writing. The narration is very humorous without forcing it and the occasional sarcasm made it even more funny.

There's a bit of heavy themes here so proceed with caution if you're planning on reading this. It's just a small portion, but it's definitely there. I might not be the right person to express my opinion when it comes to properly handling mental health issues, but I felt like the author glossed over the topic. Even the translator put a note that says not to take the issue seriously and to remind everyone that this is just fiction because it really might trigger a lot of people.

Overall, I had fun reading this novel. It's fluffy, sweet and heartwarming. If you're looking for a quick read without expecting something astounding, you can pick this up. <<less

Daddy Kink, non-consenting, explicitly detailed

I think the writing and translation itself is very good. You do have to remind yourself that it's just fiction and not to take it too seriously from time to time.

... more>> I really liked the relationship between MC and Bubu (MLs child.)

Not sure if I'll read the extras as well because the smut scene towards the end of the main story didn't go as I had expected.

The lead up is very cute and fluffy but you definitely need to be ok with Daddy Kink if you're interested in reading. <<less

The novel is really fluffy and heartwarming but still the way they got together and began talking about forever felt really, reallyyy unnatural. I had been cringing so hard when he masterbated to his voice only after knowing him for like 13 days or something and not to mention the product launch video of theirs like... I mean I found it utterly adorable but still it just felt kinda rushed which it was coz really? 15 days?? Without even meeting in person. I mean attraction is one thing but the... more>> way they said "I love you" and "forevers" was a bit...

For me it felt more like they had been in an arranged marriage for quite some time and then slowly fell for wpeach other in those days kinda vibe... does that make sense?? But the writing being as good as it is it never felt like the writer was in wrong or something just that the characters were tooo damn impulsive and out of the pocket. Ik it was a shitty review but it is what is (PS I don't know when it's the right time to use commas so just pretend they are there whenever you feel like there should be one.) <<less

Hmm... My final impression of this novel is just like how MC described himself, a rotten apple with deceitfully lustrous, bright-red skin.

Imagine if you bought a red, juicy apple expecting to eat a delicious fruit for dinner but when you cut it, you found that it was filled with worm and maggots.

My reaction was exactly the same as what the couple who initially wanted to adopt MC. I'd panic and be afraid too if the good, well-behaved child I was going to adopt is a literal haunted child straight out... more>> of a horror movie.

I think it would've been another story if the MC and the author honestly presented himself as the way he truly was since the first time the readers were introduced to him, instead of presenting a seemingly fluff protagonist MC but was met with a psychological horror haunted child.

So here I am, not surprisingly delighted or crying in pity by the reveal, instead I was thoroughly disgusted and spooked I've never cl**ked an 'X' button so fast.

I also don't like how the MC strongly insisted on imposing his own belief to ML, to the point of directly shouting to a stranger who only knew him for two days that MC was right even though he knew nothing about the other's circumstance. At least ML was still calm and talked patiently that MC has no right to bu*t in his family matter. MC was a big red walking flag even without his schizophrenia. Everyone should avoid a potential lover who only thinks that they are right.

If that kind of behaviour was posted as a reel on ig, people would've been commenting that he was a karen.

Warning for

Spoiler

Twisted romance, unhealthy dependent relationship, schizophrenic MC with daddy kink, irresponsible parent ML, manipulative lesbian, boring phone calls

this is one of the best fluff smut novel! It's a must try. I definitely love it and have already read some chapters more than 10 times. In future I crave for fluffy smut, am coming back here! It's so so so cute and romantic

I liked how the MCs didn't have only a sugary sweet part like most novels. I loved that things went natural and in an unrestrained manner. I liked how the past helped them and get broke each other's boundaries. This is the perfect example of... more>> having romance, emotions, fluff, good plot and great planning of the story. Great job!!!!!! <<less

Dropped it. I just don't like MC, this guys is too desperate for love. Every little interaction he has with ML (at this point it's only over the phone) constantly causes his heart to rise or getting a hard on. It's annoying how he suddenly stutter at hearing ML's sexy voice. Not all he said was hi. I just can't do this novel 😂

I love it.

When I read that the story doesn't have any drama I thought it was false, but it's true.

I really recommend this novel, because all the things it's so lovely.

Also, I liked how told about the orphanage children, it's very sad, but the personal development it's a thing very amazing 😭❤️

Really deserving of its high rating! This reminds me of Love Delusion, where the MC has a past trauma and the ML swoops in and saves/rehabilitate the MC, though unrealistic, both are very sweet. Both MC and ML are really cute together, though if I were to nitpick, the whole novel spans 17 days, which is really less to even get to know someone, yet you can say they were fated to be together.

This was a wholesome story. Considering the title and description, I cried more than I expected.

There are a lot of good points to this story. The characters are likeable and distinct. They also act their age (more or less), especially Bubu, the four-year-old. It's always a joy to see authors write children that act their age. As for the MC, he sometimes acts like the heroine in a shoujo/jousei manga. But that could be an occupational disease as he is an illustrator for children's book so is young at heart.

The... more>> ML is mature and doting and experiences good character development from a neglectful career-oriented parent to someone who actually treasures his family. I like him because he dares to admit that he is in the wrong and apologizes for his mistakes.

Another plus point is that the main leads actually communicate. Arguments and misunderstandings are resolved through proper communication which is remarkable considering how Chinese novels tend to milk misunderstandings to push the plot a lot.

There is also the fact that OCD is not just seen as disliking messy things or something along those lines. OCD is actually taken seriously as a mental disease, even if its resolution seems a bit idealistic/unrealistic.

Anyways, I actually really liked this story. The length was also good. Although the amount of extra chapters was a bit much imo. <<less

I thought this was a very lovely story and very interesting how the author could keep so much interest and heat going when 85% of the story happens over the phone. Sometimes you forget that the couple aren't in the same room! A very nice read.

I like that there are awkward moments where both characters make mistakes but they work them out through communication. The MC is shy and a bit of a push over at the beginning but he gains confidence when he realizes that the ML isn't going... more>> to back away because of his background or psychological issues. That's a really nice point. And the ML doesn't look down on him at all for having less financially or educationally, in fact, he takes the time to clearly point out the invaluable things the MC is bringing to the relationship and encourages him to continue his career.

With the caveat that THIS IS FICTION, LIBERTIES HAVE BEEN TAKEN WITH FACT- this story does more to show the realities of trauma, abandonment and mental health than most stories even come close to. It does use the partner gives us a happy solution without a therapist- that's the fiction part- but the partner also ACCEPTS the reality of those issues and doesn't assume that it's made up, or the other person is a flake, which happens WAY TOO OFTEN in reality. I figure it splits the difference in the end and I'm fine with that. <<less

There's a lot about this book that I liked and there's a lot that I didn't like. Neither of the categories overpowers the other and thus, I have very neutral opinions on this book.

To begin with, the story itself is very cute. It has a vulnerable protagonist, a cute little kid, and a very empowering love interest, so inevitably, it is very fluffy and cute. The plot also deals with some really deep psychological concepts while explaining them in layman terms through the storyline which I absolutely admire about the... more>> author. She made it all look so easy.

That's probably also the reason some aspects of the novel didn't sit too well with me. The author made it all look too easy. Especially the way they deal with trauma haha... not everyone is as lucky as the protagonist. Also, some things were left unexplained in the story, creating plotholes that I hope the extras would cover-up.

Overall, it was an engaging read and I give it a high rating only because I didn't put the book down once I started it. <<less
