Wow. This novel is amazing. The story is lit, the way it was written was stunning, and the characters are well written and complex. I dare say, this is the best korean novel I've ever read. The concept of using poems as a means to power up is unique and epic. The MC, our dear Adrian, is strong but not like the OP characters I usually see in some of the novels I read, and because of that, his fights are always exciting, it makes you up on your toes,... more>> and the outcome of each fight are just as satisfying. As mentioned in the synopsis the MC was a sword so it is always heart clenching whenever he struggles to understand the human emotions he's starting to feel. As for the other characters, I really love them, they don't just rely on Adrian for everything, they grow along with him, they want to fight alongside him.

For those who are curious of the story if it's worth the read, yes it is, so read it please. I cried and laughed in this story so much that I put a review for the first time gosh. <<less

I definitely love this novel. I love how the story goes without being so much OP character. The MC character development have a nice pacing. He thought he knows a lot but in the end there are lots of things to know about the world compared to his before as a sword. Also the tl of this novel is so good and well written.

Wow. This novel is deep and very adventurous. I like how the author implement poem-like mantra to special moves. And the translator team's work in using proper english literature vocabs is extraordinary.

The story is epic, the translation is flawless, the adventure is blood boiling, it's perfect.

It's phenomenal. While the first few chapters were a little more, say, colorful, compared to the later chapters, it is just in the way that it has been translated. As the translation team got more and more used to it, it slowly started to turn into an epic story.
The pacing was not rushed, there were some deus ex machina moments but they weren't obnoxious and feel overly forced. You can also clearly see the motivations of each character. Not one was perfect, not one was flawless; and these clearly weren't flaws for the sake of having flaws, they tied to the characters' entire story and personality as well as their journey throughout the story. Even seemingly hated characters are grown backstory as to why they reached such state. Highly recommended as there is a large pile of chapters already (quite long ones too, props to the translation team.)

A fantasy novel with a unique MC: the spirit of a legendary sword that has possessed the descendant of its past wielder. The novel starts off slow and mostly generic, with typical 'I Reincarnated as a Wastrel' hijinx. However, this novel really comes into stride when in the second arc, where the author explores a very unique magical system that was very enjoyable to experience. I highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy fresh fantasy ideas, and those who can tolerate an MC that is arrogant and has well-established... more>> character flaws. <<less

The first chapters were a bit clunky, and the translation quality ranges from below average to good (it got more consistently good in the later chapters), but it's a pretty good story.

It's a bit too simple for what it tries to do, but the MC is interesting, and the characters actually developed, making it less of an issue.

I recommend it overall, if you're into teacher like competent MC replacing an as5hole character.

This story isn't a masterpiece; however, it has quite good continence. It has a certain style of using poetry to write epics that empower swordsman who wield a mana heart. In other words, while facing adversity a swordsman can write poetry to build the strength in their heart to overcome the adversity.

MC isn't OP even though as the reader you feel like they actually should be stronger? MC isn't weak, but they have a reasonable balance of power. Side characters are not too badly developed. The world feels like a... more>> reasonable place in the way that things and events feel logical rather than outlandish. There is reasonable lose of life on the battlefield, which is something that I feel is significantly lacking in other novels.

Overall, it is a worthy read and I plan to continue with the story. <<less

The details are inconsistent as f*ck sometimes the story will completely skip over parts and drag out an explanation through an annoying second person pov.

some chapters will leave off on a cliffhanger for bearly any reason just to drum up suspense when its something easy to answer.

the mc’s power level rubber bands wicked bad just MC randomly shooting up in power for no apparent reason with little to no buildup.

some of the actions certain characters take are illogical or inconsistent with their personalities. Like a character thats made out to... more>> be an evil conniving person doing everything but hinder the MC like whats even the point of them.

this story just feels so on the rails like a super linear rpg.

The side characters get ignored alot like one moment you get a bit of development or small scenes with them but then it cuts off and skips to some other shit.

Also a side character will go unmentioned for the entire time the party is in another country the party will encounter situations where that character would for sure have said or have done something so you will assume they are absent and probably far away from the party and then the author will randomly include them like “oh btw this person Is suddenly with them and the reason they haven't done much is cuz (bs reason?) like how? HOW ARE YOU GASLIGHTING THE AUDIENCE SO HARD???

the MC is gary sue he has a perfect counter for every situation he encounters so there is no real conflict. Its like hes a streamer following the walkthrough to the t on an rpg

ill still keep reading its but mostly to see what happens to the side characters.

if you want a better story with a similar concept read “The lazy Prince Becomes a Genius. Its a better way to handle this type of story and lights the inner fire of badassery in my heart.

this ones ok if you can turn off your brain and treat it like an extremely on the rails rpg. <<less

I've caught up to this novel a while ago before it's previous TL site got shut down, so I don't understand the low ratings that everyone are giving.

It definitely has a slow start, especially when the body and personality of the prince is tr*sh, while the personality of the sword isn't that interesting at first. However, as the plot progresses, the story shows more of a military fantasy with the brotherhood between the prince and the soldiers. It shows the best war feeling that I've read so far. With the... more>> use of Poems as the main core of the power fantasy, we are shown desperate fights with chilling dialogue thanks to the Poems. Definitely unique. Give it a try. <<less

I thought it was a really solid novel. It follows quite closely to a more 'western writing style' kingdom novel avoiding many of the usual tropes. However eventually I realised I was forcing myself to read and wasn't having too much fun. I thought all of the characters and conflicts were decent but I couldn't like (or love) any of them.

I think it was due to the lack of suspense and progression, but it also could of just not been to my tastes.

Overall I think a certain type of people... more>> would really appreciate it. The glowing 5 star reviews also speak to this. Translation is inconsistent in earlier chapters. <<less

There are of course noticeable flaws (for example the characters' manner of speech are all strangely identical) but the developments are relatively unpredictable the tension is so well crafted that it is easy for me to give this a 5/5.

Tension: excellent

Intrigue (interesting concepts, mysterious developments...) : interesting lore and world building that evoke some curiosity

Entertainment (comedic/fun elements) : not at all a focus of this novel
