the main story is over, the epilogue is still releasing.

personally I don't really see the appeal of the Otome genre, however this story turns that narrative on it's head.

a thing to note is that the MC is not an isekai persona, she escapes the narrative thanks to one. Other than that I feel like Clara (side character) has a little wasted potential as a character, but that's me nitpicking. I really enjoy Elena's story though, but that's probably because of her involvement with the MC.

the story itself is good and... more>> id love to read more/a next adventure to tie up the loose ends from the rushed ending. <<less

This is a good one. Can't stop reading it.

Story is not your typical otoge reincarnation. Plot is solid, world is alive. Characters have volume and motivation, stats system is introduced with logic (overly detailed sometimes, imo). In whole - me likey!

On a side note: translation is good. Some occasional typos are present, but smooth read overall.

Really enjoyable read! It has faults, like info-dump, and how kids are so over-powered, but the story itself is very enjoyable that I read 3 volumes in 3 days, the flow is just that good that it cover the flaws.

I would give the overall read as 4, plus bonus 1 for the great work of translation team!

I am impress! It a great novel and made me learn some stuff that I didn't know before. I like how she slowly grows to became extremely strong. I like the story and unlike other stories with status and skill, she need to earn any of her skill wish make way more sense than the generic god give you op skill that you see in other story I recommend

Superb MC and side character characterization, deliberate world building, engaging power progression and fights. This novel has the polish and pacing that most isekais tend to lack. The quality is apparent from the first volume and does not drop off as of the latest volume (volime 3).

The story is told in the same style as the author's previous work. It's good by the standards of the genre. The translation quality, however, is not very good. The translator either doesn't speak English natively or is passing the original text through a machine and not bothering to correct for grammar or flow in any meaningful way. They also have an annoying habit of putting random words in parentheses, which I assume are written in katakana in the original text. It's best to just let this be a thing... more>> which is lost in translation rather than disrupting the flow of the text to haphazardly throw on this kind of emphasis. <<less

Pretty fun, but the translations could use some work, especially with pluralizing words. Not too big of a deal, but it does takes away a bit from immersion. The story itself in the translation so far is very enjoyable though.

I swapped over to the web novel on shousetsuka once I caught up, so I'm a bit unsure how different it is from the light novel, but even that holds up reasonably well. Still, I tend to enjoy character interactions, so the long dragged out fights of Aria vs the world... more>> did get a bit boring for me. Hopefully the light novel properly deals with condensing the unnecessarily long bits.

Also, the author could really really really take a moment to rethink the characters' ages.
Spoiler

As of chapter ~100, Feld is ~26, and regardless of if Aria looks her actual age of 12 or looks 15~16 because of magic growth, he should not be thinking of her in a romantic way dammit. At least the author made it clear Aria sees him as a dad, but it's still weird as heck. Again, hopefully the light novel version will deal with this.

I really want to put 5 stars but as of right now, there is barely anything to do with "survival" even when the MC is surviving the "survival" way (like eating bugs)

Basically this is/was/would have been like your standard cliche isekai otome game with a "just-want-to-live villainess" and the "jerkass fake heroine"

Except that the real all-loving, forgive everyone, heroine managed to avoid getting bodyjacked, took some memories, went through an existential crisis, "broke", refused to become the "heroine" as the original plot demanded and started killing her enemies without... more>> batting an eye.

Goldenman may be right in that the female characters are 'geniuses' while the male characters are a bit spoiled. But that just makes this feel right especially because this is an Otome game. The "heroine" is supposed to be the high spec person comforting their potential partner or there wouldn't have been a "game" to play in the first place. <<less

I've finished the first volume as of writing this.

I love the theme of rebelling against the "fate" of a s*upid otome game plot, and the MC is a lot of fun. Plenty of well-written and tense action scenes. The MC isn't a Mary Sue at all, she struggles and trains very hard to get anywhere. Even the "magic" and "skill" systems have better than average explanations for this kind of story. Even still, if you were lured here specifically by the shoujo ai tag like I was, I'd say give... more>> this a pass. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain it's a bamboozle and there will never be any real shoujo ai/yuri content. <<less

Really liked this novel, the moral of this one is to fight against fate, its not well explained why she doesnt like her fate, there's some hints, but thats her objective and its cool to se her fighting agains it.
There's a point that I think it could be more well elaborated its character relationships, there's few, they are a little shallow and fast, even the one that she had more affinity, it was too fast, needed some slice of life moment there for the characters relationship to develop better.
I think the yuri route would be the best one for this story, based of the story development and for... more>> what she's fighting for, her fight against destiny like the other girl, light and darkness, if she ends up with a capture target would be disapointing and against the moral of this story.
But I think the best point of this novel is the protagonist, she takes action fast, is inteligent and has no dumb mercy to enemies, she's one of those dark MC's, but its not something over the top, she does what she can to survive and fight fate.
There's potential in the future of this novel and the negative point I mentioned could be worked it out in later volumes. <<less

I'll give this a good rating. I enjoyed reading this character very much. Her hermit like behavior and applied knowledge is awesome to witness. The story is okay. The foundation of it all is the princess as a main motivator, which is the weakest point overall. The rest is very good though. I particularly enjoyed v6 going into the desert for some sight seeing. I'm excited for volume 7, because I'm pretty sure she let herself be captured. And I'm also excited to see how her mom (war demon) will... more>> deal with meeting her sister. <<less

Vary from 3.5-5/5

I give 5 definitely bias score simply because I enjoy action scene in the story but other than that I will explain down below

I read in japanese so I cannot comment on translation

... more>> While I hate that info dump during the beginning (considering how they write the story it could done better but ok) it have a nice story. (But not that masterpiece of nice story but entertained read nonetheless)

This is an action genre story through and through. It have that solo-level vibe story telling but with female MC and no force romance or I could say it have almost none. Have diverse in characters but sometime with no proper background story. Just there to be killed.

Spoiler

I cannot help but compare the two.

I'd say this story have better writing in term of story arc and growth. MC actually have to use brain to defeat enemy stronger than her. In assassin organization arc, she use terrain advantage, poison, information Manipulating and using enemy traits to her advantage but with quite amount of skip on when she prepare all of that execution. We saw her entered assassins den like... 2 times but the story write like she entered the place more than 10 with bit by bit prep to the whole thing. It can be either say a good pace to the story or lack details idk. I think each reader should decided that themselves.

MC have a bunch of mob-char show-off scene like solo-level too with repetitive of 'she's so young how did she do that? It's impossible blah blah blah'

After MC get her skill from dept of dungeon it become more and more resemble with her use 'Iron Rose' while solo-MC use 'Arise' lol and her usual 'I will defeat you and get a little bit stronger'

It's not like MC always use that as skill have cool-down but lack of explanation on the draw back. Sometime story treat like it have serious draw back or it's like her trump card, signature skill but MC use it so casually. I give it a plot-armor tier skill.

[collapse]

This is not that type isekai-cheat story not knowledge cheat either as MC still have to training from ground up her modern knowledge are convenient plot tool to explain things in modern to reader. A lot of time I feel like even if she didn't gain a modern knowledge it won't change a thing.

Spoiler

Here's example, there's her cousin who say that his motivation on trainning to be strong is to be like mc's mom. The reason he felt off on fake alicia is because he draw a picture of her as someone with strong martial arts as much as her mother just like MC, inherited her mom but that half-doesn't make senses as original MC should be like THAT fake alicia and it never elabolate how MC mom suppose to be strong and how MC ended up as how she is in the original too. If this is how the story explained this guy feeling on MC then whether MC gain memory from modern reincarnated woman shouldn't be much matter too.

Fake alicia plot point don't feel like a threat as she failed from the start nor she cunning enough to turn situation around and just there to make reader annoying of her just like many character in the story but her relationship with the prince are understandable. It could be done better considered how her character stems from her obsession with being a heroine.

[collapse]

While it have rank, level, stats and skill power tiering in the story doesn't feel like game grinding. More like author trying to make 'how strong' be clear to the reader and to make like MC facing with threat. It could be say as pro and con in the story.

Spoiler

I must say I both like and hate it. Sometime it felt like it doesn't need one to understand and have fun in action scene and don't have particular need to explain in system way either. It skimmed that number a lot of time just look at the rank and it still convey the story the same. When stats convey her skill cooldown it tell other information that don't have particular important in fighting scene like it just to eat words count. Maybe I read too much of system power-based I feel bored so I didn't deducted it from rate score.

[collapse]

While characters personality and their motivation, driving are diverse but still have that repetitive mob-char for MC to show-off for each arc.

Spoiler

Be it her fellow assassins, people from thief guild, adventurers, nobles during school. This world have rank system, have appraisal skill and item, have culture of 'young people with strong magic well have body growth rate than normal one'. Can't people be more smart when they want to fight someone? Some of them are have inferiority complex towards MC but story cannot portrayed them to be a threat or person that use that complex to be something. Just there to get beat up from MC.

And I should say this, character that ally with MC are just there to push the plot or convenient tool for MC to learn and built connection. For example, people in rainbow sword like... all of them. They have personally? Probably. Are they replaceable? Maybe. There's none built up to make me feel attach to them but this just my opinion. At least minotaur hunt in the dungeon felt good as a team with MC don't have attack to finish off until that's not the case at conclusion of the arc.

Author definitely have skill in writing extreme crazy character. Half of antagonist are crazy including MC. Their drive towards their goals is extreme enough to deal with devil or use their lifespan in exchange for power. That pure obsession probably make the character so standout and noteworthy in MC journey and they consistent in their view and goal so no half-heart talk-no-jutsu during fight scene. (Maybe excluding assassins arc as that arc suppose to be MC molding arc so antagonists are just there to be beat.)

However, what I like the most is the prince and fake alicia. Prince is a soft heart guy pampered by his family that don't have guts enough to rule country seeking for freedom than take responsibility as a prince which make him fall so easily to fake alicia talk. He could not understand how people can be that driven towards their goal. He's an interesting take on otome protagonist but since the story already show us situations on a lot of chracters. He felt so... normal since he foiled himself with girls around him it's become funny. Could be boring, could be annoying maybe there's a better way in handling this character. Well... a most of males charcters in this story are so sub-par it's hardly noteworthy so prince just standout to me.

[collapse]

If you enjoy something like solo-level and want to see female MC one with fantasy setting. Give it a try. <<less

I'm having a hard time reviewing this one. On paper this novel should be good, loosely isekai otome game genre with FeMC that's not OP from the start for no reason. The build up makes sense and reasonable. It should be like Shiraori in Kumo desu ga nani ka, but somehow it felt flat. World building is there but it's either too little or too irrelevant, most other characters feel poorly developed and not interesting enough which leaves FeMC to carry the whole thing. Problem is I find myself not... more>> enjoying the journey with her. She's supposed to be pretty, charming and tough but I can't help seeing her as a deranged mu*derer even though her killings are mostly justified. I also find her personality quite irritating but it might be the side effect of that black crystal which ties to the story so I won't comment too much on it.

I'd still recommend you try reading and decide whether or not you want to keep following it but I've lost interest. I might revisit in the future after it's completed though. <<less
