Originally I thought this novel was passable for me to invest a little bit of time into reading, but I was proven wrong at chapter 10.

Spoiler

I don't understand why the MC struggled as much as he did with the manticor. From my view, I feel that if you have infinite mana, why would you plan some sort of tactic when you can just spam your spells?

I usually don't write reviews unless I've finished a series, but I just can't make it through this one. I've never read something where everything is just so... dumb. Straight up, no other way to put it. The MC is dumb, the bad guys are dumber, and the magic system is pretty much nothing besides fancy names and big numbers. It's like if that one kid in elementary school who always had to 'win' at everything could live out their dream where 'actually, I don't lose because my powers are... more>> stronger than what you thought and I wouldn't have lost in the first place'.

That being said, if you're looking for TRULY nothing beyond an OP MC who faces just enough danger that they can vent their anger out and believe their one sided violence was justified, then give it a shot. It's kinda fun reading it to see just what kind of inexplicable details this author will come up with next.

Examples of s*upidity:

    1. Spoiler

This is set in a world that has been ravaged by dungeons which explode and release monsters into civilization for 40 years. MC doesn't know what dungeon levels are and we get to hear the explanation from a 'dungeon otaku' classmate. Like this, the MC often speaks as if he is someone (like us) discovering his world for the first time, even though he's lived in it for 18 years, all for the sake of convenient exposition.

      [collapse]
    2. Spoiler

Despite spending hours looking up cool spells after he awakened, MC doesn't learn anything about being an awakened. He doesn't know the value of 'Blood Stones', which are both the main income for the awakened and the worlds primary power supply. After his first dungeon run, he sells them at whatever price they tell him, and then he proceeds to LEARN HOW TO USE HIS (special awakened) BANK CARD from the cashier. They even kindly ask if he remembers the 4 digit code he made for it! XD

      [collapse]
    3. Spoiler

In a guild war, the association steps up to control the fight so that no one dies as they stress how important each awakened's life is (for national securty, yada yada). They even have vests that display their vitality and can somehow teleport them out of the fight before they die. Yet, MC is allowed to walk into an association controlled dungeon on his own at level 1 without anyone batting an eye.

      [collapse]
    4. Spoiler

MC has infinte mana, and eventually learns a spell that blocks all damage 'until he runs out of mana'. Yes, perfect invulnerability. Only downside, he has to use one out of his two hands to continually cast the spell. In the middle of his first massive fight against a whole ass guild, while surrounded by hundreds of people, he stops using it because he's killing them all too slowly. Thankfully he gets some insta-karma and receives a massive hit which almost kills him. This kid is dumb as hell.

      [collapse]
    5. Spoiler

In the affformentioned fight against a whole ass guild, in order to have proof that he's not an indiscriminate mu*derer, he gets drones to record his entrance into the building. After the guards stop him at the door, he gets angry and proceeds to indiscriminately mu*der them on camera (both his own, and the guild's CCTV). He ends up with no evidence, and instead destroys everything so there IS no evidence.

Kinda bad but some really good parts? The celestial realm portion was really bad but the final section of the story made that garbage halfway worth it. If I was doing a formal review I'd say the author isn't a very good writer and struggled to meaningfully finish and transition arcs. Multiple anticlimaxes and strange choices in emphasis and focus. The humor and characters were pretty enjoyable and surprisingly endearing and tender.

One important note that I'm not sure is a translation issue or the confusion of the original author, but... more>> it's safe to assume that any large number is anywhere from 100 to 1000 times different. E.g., 30 thousand becomes 3 million.

I didn't hate reading it but it doesn't particularly leave one satisfied. Hard to recommend unless you're bored. But hey, it's a completed story and features loads of level-ups / growth cheat. <<less

Your typical fastfood novel on steroids in terms of "fastfood"-ness if that even a word.

You know sunflower seeds that you eat when you are wasting time? Or peanuts that you eat to accompany your drinking session? Or that popcorn you munch but never enjoy during watching movies on theater, like you eat it without the intention of eating, but only for accompanying your movie watching? THIS is that kind of novel.

At the start it is okay, your typical Korean wn cliche dungeon pop up, monster coming out from the dungeon... more>> and then human awakening ability to fight those monster and dungeon hunting. Then the introduction of the source of the dungeon, the demon realm, start to ruin the novel, basically the system is becoming useless garbage at this point barely in the middle of the novel. The author seems to want to have a sidekick soo much, just like having a Robin for Batman that he tried to make some random hyung into a significant character and almost as OP as MC with nearly infinite mana as well. Then the introduction of the god, the god arc after that is pure rushing garbage where that sidekick character is basically useless again and the whole reasoning behind this arc is pure garbage as well. The nail in the coffin for me is the last arc, it is basically pure nonsense resetting the novel like that and it has longer than the previous god arc, cementing the previous arc is pure garbage.

To be honest, I skimmed all the last arc only to skip to the last battle between MC and last boss. It's a total joke.

Spoiler

MC at the end of god arc: Bro I'm not strong enough to fight you, let's make a bet for 60ish chapters for me to power level and we fight?

Last boss: OK interesting, I know I will lose but the author is desperate to extend the novel so let's do it

like fantasy? game-element? dungeon and level system? maybe you will like this story. But, the bad thing is there is no romance at all. hmm.... Because there is no romance, only 3. Well, although there are still 3, character development is the same as the story is average

. When you read this novel, try to put your brain away, it is so illogical to the point you cannot put it into word to describe what was it that you just read.

The Author wrote this novel just for his/her selfishness of imagination or whatever the purpose was.

Like the title has said itself, the MC has an ability of infinite mana and the author was trying to nerf it as first so it doesn't appear to be so overpowerful but the attempt to do so was a complete failure and leaded to a worse situation so the Author just ignore it and made he become more powerful than before, like there is no end of it.

I've tried my best putting it up over 100 chapters but then I was thinking why would I make myself more miserable kept reading it.

Cast aside the MC, Author put him with 2 friends, like yeah, MC had friends, so he's not really the Loner, and the Mother to make the case sounds more warm and touching but nope, turnt out the situation that his mother became the burden after all and her scene was not even that much.

About his enemies, well they are built as ret*rd as well, first one tried to kill MC by himself then got tortured and leaked information, second one also tried to kill MC by himself, got reverse-killed then gone with the wind, the third one, you know, the same, and every freaking time make MC stronger than before, like they had no brain at all. Finally, the boss, sounds so OP, but ended up getting tortured like the first one and leaked information once again.

In general, if you throw your brain away, this one is kind of an entertainment and that's it. The Author doesn't try to explain much about the situation and how to execute it well enough, the fighting scene doesn't make any sense, it has no explanation of everything, like you just read and figure it out on your own. <<less

Its an interesting premise but the writing quality is too poor. There are no interesting side characters. The MC is pretty bland. There is no potential love interest that can keep me invested in the story. Extremely simplistic sentences and paragraphs. The overpowered infinite mana that he has is indeed pretty interesting and how he uses it in conjunction with various skills. After reading a few chapters though, I have to drop it due to the poor writing quality.

It's average, I guess.

I will compared it to Solo Leveling since both belong to the same type and early premise. (Underdog become strong, rl world with government and guild as independent organization.) Now, both novel have different core story. Solo leveling is about killing non human being that terrorized human kind. In I Never Run Out of Mana (INROM), it focus more on human x human fight as trouble arise between government and radical awakened being that wanted caste system between awakened and non-awakened. Since the conflict are different, so... more>> does the job from local government and guild. Considering the setting and conflict, INROM should have mmore depth in human relation and politics. Right? Nah.

Somehow the world in Solo Leveling feels more concrete than the one in I Never Run Out of Mana. For one, the character were memorable. They become irrelevant fast as the MC grow stronger, but they left impression. Now here, in INROM the character stay with the MC for a long time, but didn't have any life outside of plot device. Any setting merely pass by. You got the saint, kind mother. You got the bro that didn't take advantage of MC. You got the kind but is a bit*h cult (guild) leader trope. The guild want to bring MC to dark side but was too clueless to build interpersonal relationships with him. It was just here some money and equipment and contract, now I want you to fight the government with me. It also feels like 50% of their plan didn't happen at all or only happen after the MC was fully prepared to face them. MC being s*upid are ok, but the whole cast being s*upid are a big no.

I didn't even know if the MC have already graduated or not. He just kind of didn't go to school anymore or maybe he did but it just never mentioned. If it's the later, he must be a superhuman who never sleep since the school hour and grinding hour didn't add up.

It's a feels good leveling up kind of story, but don't expect anything else. There are better hot-blooded story out there like The Earth is Online and Sovereign of judgement. <<less
