The only good thing about this novel is that after reading it, you'll know you can only go up with whatever other novel you pick up. Likely overthrew Isekai wa Smartphone for the title of "worst Isekai with anime".

I cannot fathom how incredibly naive, dumb and just generalky annoying this story is. How is it that the author could create such a dumb sequence of events and not realize what he was writing.

Let's ignore that the characters are cardboard cutouts, or that they just exist so that the MC can spout some nonsense about friendship, or to die for the sake of his development (which is pointless as he forgets that drive in the next moment). Let's ignore how unoriginal the setting and magic system is. Or how... more>> incredibly dumb the "antagonists" are. I've read my fair share of tr*shy isekais, and while I'll never called them art, I do have fun reading cliche power fantasies. Even it being harem is not a big issue as, as long as there is a good dynamic, I tend to enjoy them.

Nah, the thing that broke me was none of that.

Spoiler

At some point in the story, the MC meets the person who summoned him and his friend. For this he gets brought to the king, where everyone is wary of them and look super unfriendly. There he gets told that the king and hia brother the Duke are in a dispute that is escalating into a war, and that, not knowing what to do, they decided to use a summoning ritual to bring him and help stop the conflict. Later that day, the princess tells him she was the one who brought him here, and that she is sorry that he almost lost his life multiple times because they got dropped into the middle of monster in spite of them not even knowing how to properly defend themselves. Also btw she new there was no way to send them back to their world and still decided to summon them against their. But she is sorry and after the help them fight this war they have nothing to do with they should trust her that she would search a way to send them back. Also btw they get sent to an Arena to fight the general because even though this f*cking kingdom summon them against their will foe the purpose of killing people in a war for their sake, they dont trust how strong they are, so they get put on this deathmatch to prove their worth to them. And not only the MC pities the princess and tells her its not her fault, but agrees to participate in the war, only for then to worry by himself on the fact that he doesnt want to kill people nor wants his friend to witness people killing each other or her staining her hands with someones life, even though YOU f*ckING AGREED TO PARTICIPATE IN A WAR THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF YOU...

[collapse]

How is this not a f*cking parody, but an actual story which is meant to sometime make you feel sentimental and excited. How did the author didnt read what he was writing and realized how much of a bufoon he was coming as. I always give a story the benefit of the doubt and I never write reviews because as I might not enjoy something, someone else might not share that opinion. But this novel broke me. It's a sequence of imcopetency, lack of originality and talent, a bundle of uninspired tr*sh that made me feel dumber by the minute. Please dont read this story, there is always something better. Spare yourself the existencial crisis I'm currently going through right now <<less

It's probably meant for kids younger than 13 or so. So maybe I am being too harsh on the author.

But this novel is shit. The manga is a piece of garbage and the anime is a cesspool...

The plot is shit, the conversations make you cringe and the presentation is mediocre at best. If you feel like you really need to know the story, save some time by trying to watch the anime rather than read the novel or manga.

It's better than 'To deprive the deprived' though.
